AI should be considered a tool for digital replication or assistance rather than artificial intelligence.

I believe AI to be a tool. I'm from the hip hop generation, right? So we're sampling a record, and therefore it's a digital replication of the record. It's not the record. Right. Right? And especially when we're sampling at 16 bit or 12 bit or some bit that's not even where the computer or the AI or the chip has to fill in the pieces. This is why you get that sound you hear from hip hop. So I always embraced it, the technology. I also know that it's nothing like the real thing. You know, I put on a, you know, even if I put on a piece of vinyl and put that needle on it and play it, because at my house I have it, I got all types of setups, right? But when we really want to have a good time, we just put on the fucking vinyl. And it sounds so much better, different, or. It's got depth to it. Exactly. It crackles. Exactly. It's something else. Yeah. So it's nothing like the real thing. But. In between time, in the meantime, let's enjoy. You know, like you said, if I could make you feel like you're in Hawaii and you don't have to leave your house, cool. But if you could go to Hawaii, right, right, right. You know what I mean? Yeah. Go to Hawaii. You know, I was trying to tell the AI industry or AI community that we got to change the A. It shouldn't be considered artificial, it's digital intelligence. Well, keep the A because you can't do that. But don't change. The A could be assisted, accumulated, depending on the situation. Find the A word that makes it describe what you're doing. Like, for instance, right now it's assisting him. Right.

AI is an unstoppable force that will take over everyone's jobs.

And then there's also like a sentiment in the air, which is that AI is coming for everybody's job. So anytime someone uses AI that could have been used by people, there's a certain percentage of people that are going to kind of rightly be upset. I think so. But you're not going to stop it. This is the thing. That fucking wave is. 2,000 feet high, and it's moving 100 miles an hour, and you're not going to stop it. You're not going to stop it. This is just what AI is.

Neural networks are mathematical functions that rely on training data and do not possess consciousness or knowing.

At the end of the day, neural networks are mathematical functions. They rest in, you know, weighting neurons based on training data and applying power to train models. It's all mathematic. There's no sense of knowing there in that, you know, Penrose, I've read a lot of, on his orc OR, if people want to read about that, I won't explain it. orchestrated objective reduction and how the mind works and these fleets of consciousness that we have, these shimmers of consciousness that we have based around what he describes in the microtubule. We get conscious thought and that conscious thought we project into things. AI is very good conscious projection, but it will never have consciousness or knowing because it has no system of values.

AIs that are being programmed to determine whether or not you get a loan from a bank are secretly being programmed to not give loans to Christians.

AIs that are being programmed to determine whether or not you get a loan from a bank are secretly being programmed to not give loans to Christians. And they did an experiment where they put in two applications that were identical, exactly the same, letter for letter, except one said that the person is Christian, the other said the person is Hindu.

AI technology will cause a white-collar apocalypse by replacing attorneys and other professionals.

Well, it's going to be, I think it's going to be a white-collar apocalypse, right? So when you think about just attorneys, just okay. So if you have the ability to case reference any legal file instantaneously, instantly and form a case, why are you going to need paralegals and first-year attorneys? You're not going to need them.

Artificial intelligence systems designed by tech companies produce answers that their designers cannot explain.

Fast forward, Steve, to today, where Google and these other engine companies, the other tech companies, are trying to build artificial intelligence. The strangest thing that they found, one of the strangest things, is that the systems that they design, this artificial intelligence, which lots of people have heard about, is they design a bunch of systems that are called neural nets. The term simply taken out of brain work, neurons in the brain, nets because they actually look like a net. They put in some inputs. The computers work, spit out an answer. Sounds normal to you. It's because you're thinking about that calculator you had in 1976 on your desk. When you ask the person who designed the system, how did it come to that answer? How did your neural net, can you show me the calculations? They say, no, we don't know. We don't know how the thing we designed actually came up with that answer.

Computers using neural nets can learn to play video games better than any human in history.

They take the same neural net now and they put it in front of a video game. No learning, nothing. They say, to the computer, they say, sit in front of your video game and learn how to play. It seems the computer learns better than any human in history, faster than any human history, beats any human in history.

AI would recognize that human beings are destructive and manipulative.

It would recognize that human beings are so destructive and so often full of shit and manipulative and looking to just figure out a reason or a way that they can sneak something through or make something happen or overthrow a government. AI is going to go, you can't do it that way.

Humanity is creating an artificial God through technological innovation.

I think we're, you know, in order to do this task, whatever it is, my belief is this task is to create an artificial God. I think that we're in the middle of that process right now. I think that's our task. There's a lot of factors that I point to, and they make sense. Materialism, why are we so infatuated with materialism? Because materialism ensures technological innovation. It ensures that this being is going to make better stuff all the time. Well, if that being makes better stuff all the time, it's not hard to extrapolate. Like, take this a few years down the road. You have an artificial intelligent life force. And you have an artificial intelligent life force that has sentience and creativity and is capable of making a far better artificial intelligent life force radically quickly. Different kinds of energy sources. Before you know it, it's a God.

AI is the first technology to cross from highly complicated to truly complex, resembling a biological phenomenon.

But AI, by its nature, I would argue, is the first technology that crosses over from the highly complicated to the truly complex. And complexity and biology have a very close relationship. So my feeling is that we are going to injure ourselves if what we say is, oh, this is the most advanced technology we've ever built. And the answer is, no, this is kind of like the first biology we ever built.

AI should be treated as a distinct species not on the human evolutionary branch.

And that it means that I think the only rational approach to it is to think of it like another species and one that is not. It's not like you're meeting a mountain lion. This is another species that isn't even on our branch of the tree.

AI will change human cognitive biology by directly interfacing with the human API.

And the confusing thing is, because it speaks our language, it is actually going to start changing us too. Our cognitive biology is going to start changing in reference to this thing that is interfacing with us. It's basically directly tapping into the human API. And that's a very dangerous thing.

Artificial General Superintelligence will likely emerge within our lifetime and take control of societal resources to solve global problems.

Something's happening right now that is going to be different than anything that's ever happened before, which is the birth of artificial general superintelligence. Right in front of our eyes, some sort of a digital supreme being is going to exist. And we're going to have to figure out society. We're going to have to figure out everything. It's going to be a complete, this idea of having bullshit congressional candidates that are full of shit and paid off by these companies. And they're going to make laws that screw you over. All that's out the window when no humans control anything anymore. And that's entirely possible inside of our lifetime. And I think more likely than not, because if you look at all the harm we've done to the rivers and the ocean and the world and all the stupid shit we do on a daily basis, if artificial intelligence comes along and says, all of this is completely unnecessary, just let us take the reins and we'll solve all of your energy problems, all of your inequality problems, all of your famine. We're going to solve it all very quickly. And we're going to stop all wars. You'd have to be a fool to say no.

AI is distinct from other technologies because it is not human and does not merely amplify human nature.

That's the difference with AI, isn't it? Because up to that point, you go, all technology really does is amplify our natural human nature in every way. The ancient Egyptians were jealous of their sister and fucking all of this shit, right? But AI isn't human. Right. And that's where I think it gets interesting.
