The Gates report on education was not intended to make people dumb, but to create conditions where genius could flourish.

Thus, you have the passage where Gates says the stuff about, like, we will not try to make these people or any of their children into philosophers or men of learning or science. It's not about creating a school to make people dumb. Instead, quote, Right. This sentence is literally always cut out of the quote when it's posted on conspiracy sites. With respect to these high things, all that we shall try to do is just to create presently about these country homes an atmosphere and condition such that if by chance a child of genius should spring up from the soil, that genius will surely bud and not be blighted. *laughs* So it's not about making people dumb. It's about, like, give everyone a chance.

Police and CPS workers kidnapped children from a Massachusetts family and threatened them with jail because the family refused to let them take a federally mandated standardized test.

And an incredible article out of Waltham, Massachusetts. Where the family has these wonderful children. They're almost grown up. They are refusing to let the school system test them. And so the police came with the CPS workers and kidnapped them and then tried to threaten them with jail if they didn't take the federally mandated test. Now you talk about secret police, folks, where you get arrested. We're refusing to take a test when you've been homeschooled your entire life. It's all about destroying the family.

California is not part of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements because it feels the body does not offer strong enough consumer protections.

California is the state that's most affected by this very immediate shift in the rule being real because they're the only state that's not part of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements, called SARA, which basically is just a series of agreements that the states recognize each other's protections for students. California doesn't belong to that because they feel that the body does not offer strong enough consumer protections for the students.

Betsy DeVos appeared unaware of federal disability standards during her confirmation hearings and advocated for state-by-state handling of protections.

In her confirmation hearings, she seemed to be unaware of these standards. She said that protections for disabled students should be handled on a state-by-state basis, not recognizing that these are federal mandates.
