Alex Jones lies about trans suicide rates to demonize a vulnerable population and cover for the GOP's book banning efforts.

This is a load of disgusting bullshit. And Oprah's comments were about how difficult it is to wrestle with having been abused as a child because of the confusion that comes along with it. Alex is lying to demonize an already vulnerable population and run cover for the fact that the GOP, particularly in Florida, are actively banning a ton of books that aren't pedophilic but are just things that make white conservatives Very uncomfortable. Alex is doing this because he wants those kind of books banned, but he also knows that calling for banning books that make him uncomfortable looks really bad, so he just pretends it's about something that's a little bit more defensible, even though the thing he claims it about, it's not happening.

The underlying grievance of Alex Jones and Marjorie Taylor Greene is that trans or non-binary people are allowed to have jobs in places where children might be.

In order to make their violent rhetoric seem defensible to their audience, they have to pretend that stories like the one from that camp are about grown men sleeping or showering with 5th grade girls, because if they actually expressed their real grievance, it would be way too obvious that they were full of hate and bigotry. They don't come to their audience and say that they're mad that trans or non-binary people are allowed to have jobs in places where kids might be, because in reality what they're saying is that they don't think that children should have any exposure to trans or non-binary people, which ultimately leads to...

The ultimate desire of the right-wing rhetoric discussed is the segregation or eradication of trans people from public spaces like schools.

The ultimate desire here is, if not complete eradication, then segregation. It is going right back, and it's the same thing with everything. It's going right back to, okay, trans kids cannot be in school with cisgender kids. Trans kids cannot drink at the same fucking water fountains. That is not an exaggeration. That is the desire. That is what they want.

The issue discussed is not about biological men causing harm to women or children, but about trans people.

I mean, even if the story was exactly what she characterized it as. Even if she was 100% getting the story itself right. It is still not about biological men causing harm to women or children. It's about one person who's committed a crime. But again, most importantly, it's not about men. It's not about men, period. It is about trans people.
