Alex Jones uses misreported information about government programs to exploit listeners into buying precious metals.

So, Alex is so, like, he's full of shit about this, and honestly, it's really pathetic, the way he's playing this game. It's so clearly designed to get people to order things from Ted Anderson and Midas Resources, and hopefully get them on the phone with somebody who can tell them all about how important it is to buy precious metals. That's the game that's being played. It's timeshare. The document is the thing that's luring them in.

Alex Jones uses the claim that products are sold out to create artificial scarcity and sell fear.

Alex knows damn well that Alexa Pure water filters are not sold out because they can never really be sold out because he doesn't actually keep them in his warehouse. If you go to his website, you'll immediately learn that he doesn't really sell Alexa Pure filters. They're a product that he sells through MyPatriotSupply, his survival food sponsor. Sure. My Patriot Supplies orders. He said on many occasions that they take the orders directly from Alex's website and they go to My Patriot Supplies Fulfillment Center. Then they ship it from there. Obviously, this would be needed to sell any of the food buckets at any kind of scale because no matter how big a space Alex is renting, he couldn't possibly afford to have a warehouse big enough for bulk food and water filtration systems. And this is spelled out on his website's shipping information. Quote, to ensure quality and reduce costs, this item ships directly from the supplier. If you purchase additional items, they will be shipped separately. In order for Alexa Pure water filters to be sold out, it must be true that MyPatriot's supply itself is sold out of water filters. And in that case, it makes no sense to say they're great, just try and find them somewhere. It's not real. This is an involuntary reaction for Alex to say things are sold out or near sold out because that creates the perception of artificial scarcity in the listener's mind. It's a pretty old school manipulative sales tactic and what you're selling isn't the product. What you're selling is the fear that you might be unable to get said product.

Alex Jones promotes zinc as a cure for coronavirus to sell his Real Red Pill supplement.

To be clear, Alex is only excitedly reporting on this because it's a way for him to help sell his real red pill supplement that has zinc in it. Oh, yeah. The other avenues for him to scaremonger aren't as open to him anymore. So this is his best approach. Go really overboard on the zinc thing.

Alex Jones uses the false starvation statistic to create fear and justify selling his food bucket products.

So it seems very out of sync for him to be citing a statistic about U.S. deaths during the Great Depression that was more or less produced as a propaganda narrative to minimize the case of the USSR causing a famine that killed millions. This is an instance where the message of the erroneous stat, that 7 million U.S. citizens starved in the Great Depression, is more important than the context of where that stat comes from. It's because Alex is selling these food buckets, and the erroneous stat helps him further and justify that goal. So who cares if it comes from a pro-USSR, anti-US USA piece of propaganda?

Alex Jones is exploiting a public health crisis to sell nano silver supplements by using unsubstantiated claims and memes to generate panic.

And it's interesting that these narratives, these ways of pitching these products are emerging at a time when there is a public health issue that Alex is really building in and making a major focus of his narratives, using all these memes and dumb, unsubstantiated things to build panic surrounding the coronavirus and then being like, oh, hey, by the way, this nano silver that I sell, there's secret studies that have been done. It's just fucking irresponsible and awful.

Alex Jones is engaging in dishonest business practices by using lies about the coronavirus to create panic and sell survival food.

If you're selling it by escalating panic surrounding a situation, especially the way Alex is doing, with complete lying about fucking memes about the coronavirus, what you are doing is you're engaging in dishonest business practices. Absolutely. You're taking what is a rational thing to do, which is prepare in some way for a potential emergency. And what you're doing is convincing people that the emergency is coming. You better do this. And that's immoral.
