And down here, we've got to get these tariffs gone. Get the tariffs gone.
And down here, we've got to get these tariffs gone. Get the tariffs gone.
But if you're going to make a car in some other country, you're going to pay a 15, 20, 30% tariff. And those things would have never happened. We wouldn't have lost our business.
What does Trump want to slap on the European Union? 10 to 25% tariffs, right?
He, in the last 11 months, almost 12 months, almost a year being in, he has essentially pulled out of the World Trade Organization. When I read his order six months ago, or before that, with Independence Day, Liberation Day, I said, this is effectively out of the globalist World Trade Organization controlled by China. He'd officially withdraw, but he signed orders saying we're not following anything you say. We're not following your courts. It's all over, which he has the power to do.
January 2, that no silver will be exported from China without a license. And they're not granting the licenses.
This country's been completely sold out to the World Trade Organization.
What Alex is describing as the art of the deal and also parenting is just bullying. This is a cornerstone of Alex and Trump's worldview, and it shows a little bit of the path of how you need to respond to it. This is just bullying.
Trump, just today, China has been hit much harder than the USA, not even close.
That's the theory, but in essence, the way it's being used is very much like weapon. Alex even said that it's... Economic violence on the last episode. Yeah, it's sanctions.
And then France said, hey, we're not going to let your dishwashers in here. Trump said, fine, 100% tariff on wine next week. Oh, great, we'll let your dishwashers in. And suddenly we were doubling dishwasher sales because Europe let it in.
So the first part is dishwashers. In late 2020, the Trump administration rolled back regulations about water and energy efficiency standards for a newly created category of dishwasher called the fast dishwasher. He had turned niche appliance complaints into a campaign issue, and the idea that dishwashers were caught up in red tape was one of the rallying cries. Oh, you never let those dishwashers. No dishwashers left behind. The Americans deserve to wash dishes. Absolutely. And the government just won't let them. Education system's on fire. Get dishwashers. So as it turns out, this was a problem that really didn't need fixing, and dishwashers worked pretty well, even with energy and water efficiency regulations in place. This is just kind of an odd issue. The second part is France. In late 2019, France was putting a new tax in place that primarily affected tech companies like Facebook and Google. This was a tax that existed for digital companies, so specifically it's not something that applied to dishwasher manufacturers. An investigation found that U.S. companies were disproportionately affected by this because most of these companies, like Facebook, are U.S.-based. So in retaliation for them putting in this tax, Trump decided to threaten some giant tariffs against French exports like wine and cheese. Essentially, Trump was using the power of U.S. trade relations with our allies to protect giant tech companies like Google, who Alex believes work for the devil. Alex's story doesn't make a lot of sense, but his version of this, this fake version where Trump is defending the dishwasher industry, kind of makes him sound better.
And today, the communist Chinese have banned all U.S. farming goods a week ago.
And the strangest thing about this is I kind of disagree with America declaring independence because really what it was about was like a tiny little tax on stuff because the king was like, guys, we are giving you a shit ton of money. This is essentially the trade deficit argument. If you are supporting Trump levying fucking tariffs against China, you're against the Declaration of Independence.
