The spiderweb symbolism referenced by Israel stems from a past conflict where Hezbollah defeated Israeli forces and mocked their weakness.

This may have been in the 2000s and said, you know, Hezbollah fell into our spiderweb. Then Hezbollah did a counterattack, completely wiped out the Israeli forces, forced them out, defeated them in this war, and responded saying, they were as weak as a spiderweb.
