They're just looking to destroy your life.
They're just looking to destroy your life.
You've been doxxed, your family attacked, you name it, by these Satan rings. They are really upset with you.
You know, some names I won't repeat on TV, but but the on the left, it was like they want me to die, or that we're cheering for your next stroke, or that's terrible that depression want why couldn't it depression one? Um, and and I hope your kids find you. Uh, I mean, um, they even have like the graphic a gif where they have like a stroke, you know, in you know, in your head and you're cheering at that, yeah. And they said that, uh, I remember one, they claimed, oh, the doctor let us down, and why did they have to save his life? Um, I mean, just really like, I just can't imagine people are wishing, you know, I wish he dies or I want him to die, you know, literally cheering for a stroke.
Nine times out of ten, I think this is just online chaos. Most of the time, almost all of the time, it is just this reality distortion field that only exists on people's computers and screens.
I've spoken to many journalists and people of note, all of whom that are female presenting are abused horribly on the internet pretty much constantly.
that the more I started to, the more that like, I started writing stuff that I was super proud of, and the more confident I felt about my abilities and my career, the more harassment I got. It was kind of astonishing. Basically, the moment I started working for Rolling Stone is the moment... Well, that's actually not true. About a year into working for Rolling Stone, when I really thought that I had hit my stride and I figured out what I wanted to write about and thought that I was doing pretty good work, that was when the harassment started increasing. And I bet a lot of women who go on your podcast will probably say the same thing. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. Whenever you... Well, you know, the more... How proud of your work you are, the more you want to put it out there, the more you want people to see it, and then more people see it, and then pieces of shit see it. I guess it's just a function of visibility. But I found it... At first, I was like, why is this happening at a time when I think I'm doing really important and really good work? And then I realized, oh... It's because I'm a woman. And it's because I'm a visible woman on the internet. It's really not much more complicated than that.
Like, in the past, you know, five years ago, ten years ago, you would see the only people... Who were sort of making bloodsport out of, you know, doxing private individuals and cruelty like that was 4chan or Kiwi Farms or places like that. And now it's sort of... Not only are there more forums for, like, right-wing assholes to do that, and not only are there more right-wing assholes doing that, but there's also sort of been this... Water-down effect, I guess you could call it, where we're not just talking about doxing. It's not just right-wing assholes talking about doxing women and trans folks because they posted a photo on the internet. It's like they are creating... It's like left-wing people, right-wing people. It's totally politically unbiased.
Oh, Mike Cernovich is talking about my clip on CNN. Oh, why is a QAnon influencer with 250,000 followers calling me a pedophile? Oh, boy. Oh, boy. I should maybe keep an eye on this. Okay. So it kind of rolls along. I start to get the fire hose and the Twitter mentions. You know, people calling me a pedophile. People telling me my hard drive needs to get checked.
I have gotten attacked before, but never to this degree. I've gotten the Twitter pylons. It has not crossed over to Fox News. It hasn't crossed over to Alex. It hasn't crossed over to really even the big blogs. Very rarely something related to QAnon will come up, but it's usually just sort of like how stupid QAnon is, and it's clearly a left-wing false flag to make conservatives look crazy. it's never been this personal and it's never been this mean-spirited. You know, with a lot of the big Q gurus, there's kind of a back and forth. Like, they kind of enjoy the game. There was no game with this. I mean, these are people who genuinely think that I was doing horrible things to children, that I'd been sent out onto CNN to tell people not to see this movie, which I never said. I don't care what movies people go to.
From an external perspective, I do think that some people have been real shitty to her online. I definitely believe that. Of course. I believe that she's a woman online. Yeah, and I don't think she deserves any sort of treatment. I don't think anyone deserves... Targeted harassment of any kind. I do believe that she's probably been the recipient of some of it. In the same way that Leanne McAdoo and Alex have been the target of spurious rumors, I would argue that a large portion of the attacks that she get probably come from her own side.
So, he got wind of the fact that they had made this page that was critiquing his work, and he sent them an email that is a little aggressive.
And all the alt-right communities online, that's what they do. They just bombard people with bad reviews to make it look like nobody likes something.
