Lincoln's assassination was a setup by Northern industrialists who wanted to loot the South and take over railroads.

Then the biggest issue is that for a decade after the Civil War, Lincoln didn't want to break down the South. He didn't want to follow a Sherman's model of Reconstruction. He got shot in the back of the head. By John Wilkes Booth, we're told. Really, the evidence points towards that being a setup that a lot of folks wanted to loot the South. A lot of Northern industrialists wanted to take it over the railroads.
