The Khazar theory that Ashkenazi Jews are not real Jews is a stupid and ahistorical myth.

We laughed at the Khazar theory as kids. This is a theory by some scholar was made popular by Arthur Kessler called the 13th Tribe. Jews off the hook for deicide. Oh, boy. There are still Jews today because everyone's a Khazar. They didn't crucify Christ as a collective. So it's just a stupid Khazarian myth. It's totally ahistorical. No historian worth his words.

Sam Tripoli likely believes that Jewish people are actually descendants of Khazar Turks.

Is that Sam Tripoli dropped an unfortunate bomb at the end of his sentence. Alex is saying that it was Muslims killing Christians. And Sam butts in that it was Kazarians. But that's another story. That is definitely another story. It's a strong indication that Sam Tripoli might be one of these guys who thinks that most Jewish people aren't actually Jewish and actually are the descendants of Kazarian Turks. Oh, that's the same one!

Theories linking the black nobility to Khazars and the ethnogenesis of Ashkenazi Jews are popular in anti-Semitic circles but not in academic ones.

But the reason that this is interesting is that there's a little theory that's popped up over the years. It's very popular in anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist circles. God damn it! But slightly less popular in academic ones that the Khazar bloodline, or in this case, if you make a one-to-one comparison, the black nobility, the Venetian oligarchs, that bloodline is responsible for the ethnogenesis of Ashkenazi Jews. Yeah. It's not very real.
