A really good example of this would be the patriarchy. An enormous amount of the way the patriarchy is maintained in day-to-day practice is men pretending not to understand that the patriarchy exists, that it still exists, or how it works.

And when you get down to it, to me, the master's tools are the patriarchy, our toxic masculinity. And that is always coming down to violence solves the problem.

But as I understand it, most of the people who support... The patriarchy coming back, what they're motivated by is a fear of women being in charge. They don't think that women are capable of being in charge. They're scared of women being equivalent to them. They're threatened by the idea of listening to women when they tell them to do things.
