Trump supporters have developed a codependency with Trump that transcends his actual policies or beliefs, treating him as a religious symbol for desired outcomes.

And he was very much of the, like, here's why I supported Trump and all this stuff and what Trump does and all these things. And it's like, this has nothing to do with Trump at all. Like, they have just got a complete... I don't even know if they've... I think it's even transcended the concept of Trump or what Trump is or believes. And it is a purely religious, like, Trump means the good things that I want to happen. You know, like he's not related to any concept of like Trump has said he would do this or this is something Trump has done or this is something that Trump wants to do at all. It's just like, well... Yeah. with, I must believe that Trump will provide them.

Believing Trump is not an amoral monster creates a false sense of safety that actually endangers people.

It's the most infuriating thing to know that these people are clinging to these conspiracy theories and the idea that Trump is not an amoral monster as a way of feeling safe. And in control of things, or at least somebody being in control of things, and yet that very feeling of safety is what's killing you. I feel safe because I think Trump is not an amoral monster, and because he is, you're not safe. It's infuriating. You're the vector by which your lack of safety becomes assured.
