Under defamation law, a plaintiff must demand a retraction from the defendant before filing a lawsuit.

Because what we first have to do under the law is we have to demand a retraction from the guy. And that would give us the ability to sue. Like, you can't... It doesn't matter whether he retracts it, but you can't sue him before you demand the retraction, okay?
