Well, there's some people that think they have to be miserable to be good. There's a weird thing that I think some artists feel like they have to kind of suffer in order to be funny. Like they have to be upset. They have to be angry.

I mean, I believe artists, whether they're musicians, novelists, actors, whatever they are, I truly believe that you're born with most of it. I'm not saying that you can't learn and that you can't progress.
But it is really important having some kind of a thing that you do to take your mind off of the business because the people that I know where their mind is only on show business, whatever it is, music, comedy, whatever it is, they go crazy. And so, you know, there's a word for it. There's a phrase for it where you learn your craft under the influence of. And if you happen to not know how you got there off of the influence, that when you finally get off of it, you don't know how to get back to it unless you go back on it.
But I really believe that we have lived many, many, many, many times. And I think that artists have an innate ability to channel and draw in all kinds of really deep stuff. And we don't know how long we've been crashing around in this universe or what we really know beneath our conscious awareness.
I think the real hallmark of an artist is to never evolve in any significant way.
But what I would say to everybody is, is the artists in many ways are some of the most dangerous people in the world because we have that street credibility to go out and speak some gospel. And that's what makes me dangerous is once I get, once my career starts rolling in the right direction again, well, here I come.
