It was not forgetting. No, it wasn't. It was not knowing. We did not know that we were getting an award. We didn't know. We intentionally didn't go because we thought it was going to be a banquet that we didn't need to go to. We thought everybody else was getting celebrated. Yeah.

And through discussions that we've had after this and in response to this, What's really true is it's more clear that we're not there anymore. Yeah. We're not at a point where you and I can really work through some of our greater differences in the way that is what made the show interesting and fun. And to pretend that we can is going to cause trouble. And I think that it hurts people.

And I think radio comedy duos or radio duos at all, a lot of the times have the benefit of being lower stakes. And the conversations that they're having aren't around things that are really important. And people can feel terribly betrayed by the like, if you're talking sports. Who cares? Well, people care about sports. Well, people care about sports, but the universe doesn't. Care about sports. It's in a different way than hatred and lies and misogyny and transphobia. These things are far more real than sports fandom and more important to people. So when they're kind of.

And when we set out to do this show, we had no conception of what it was or what it was going to become. But I do believe that in our most basic and sort of ground level of it, we never were like, we're going to take Alex Jones down. Yeah. Maybe there was a piece of our interest and what we believe to be doing that was crumbling away the edifice of the fake version of himself that a lot of people believe is real. Yes. And that's great. And I think we've done a tremendous amount of work on that front. Yep. But we never set out to destroy him. And so.

Has put together this amazing archive that were in existence at the time when we started this show, the show would still have value. But in terms of pointing out the. The ability of someone to go back and be like, wait, is that what he said? Yeah. It is now so easy for people to do that at the Fight Fudgy site that the point that I could serve as an archivist or as a resource for journalists who want to do a better job about understanding Alex in a fuller context, I don't serve a purpose in that way anymore.

The process of finding the answer to, like, is Alex racist? Or, hey, what does he mean about this thing? Yep. It would have been very easy. It would have been much easier for us to come to those, like, solve those questions.

Our name is a joke on a thing that now is not what it was. Right. And in a way, that's just metaphorically all we need to know. You know? It is an interesting kind of brain fuck or something. Yeah. You know, that like, Our name is now like a metaphor or a pun on something that is now a parody of something that no longer exists.

From another standpoint, who are we kidding that, like, he's ever going to say anything that's, like, really worthy of reconsidering? Yeah. Like, the point that he's coming from. You know what, guys? I got it. Right. Like, I know that I've been probably wrong about a fair number of things over the course of this show, but I know that his shit is bullshit. Yep. And that's not going to change, like, based on some new piece of information or a document that he finds or whatever, some meme.

But we're not going to be working together in the immediate future. Not in the immediate future, no.

This went on far longer than it had any business in terms of a show. Yep. I think it's not telling tales out of school that most things don't last that long. They don't. Most shows don't. Go 1100 episodes or nine years, and that's something that is a pretty fucking huge thing.

And the way that you have been able to create community around. Something that is so toxic as Alex Jones. It's something that is so inspiring. And I know that just because we are stopping the show, I don't feel like I cannot still have some feeling toward the audience and the community. Absolutely. So I want to make clear that I will not, that's not the way I foresee myself doing. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, when we were in Portland, and I was on side stage right before we had gone out, and one of the security people came up to me and specifically said, This is one of the most kind. And this was the night that I learned what an atmospheric river is, which is a river in the sky. That was that night. It was wet. Tons of people wound up not being able to make it. And the people who did fought their way through it, and they were still kind. If anybody could have had a reasonable curtness or a bit of annoyance from just surviving that long out in the rain, none of them, none of you guys did. And it's one of our legacies, I think, that will be perfect. But it's a legacy also that we didn't, I don't think that we did. They grew up around us. And we were blessed to have drawn in and attracted. People and listeners, and an audience that was that way. Yep. That was not interested in fighting. That was not interested in, you know, stupid, petty concerns. Yeah. And I will be eternally grateful for that.

We are having, we still have our live show that we're doing at the Brothers Roundhouse. Two Brothers Roundhouse? On May 16th. I mean, it's sold out.

That will come out on the audio too, so long as someone doesn't screw up the recording. As long as the recording works, that will come out as a final episode.

This is, of course, the day that the news broke that the Onion had taken the reins. Over at InfoWars.

Look, I get that everyone knows that 420 is Hitler's birthday.

The correct way to look at this is 420 is about weed.

And now they've officially, the Onion has officially taken the lead.

The only thing I'm trying to bring attention to is that these people, like Tucker and Harrison, Do not care about the same things that a sincere critic of Israel or Zionism cares about. They're trying to hijack other people's sincere outrage about a genocide and use that to demonize all Jews.

That argument does not hold up because The Onion can't demoralize the InfoWars audience anymore at this point. Harrison's trying to pretend that The Onion is pretending to own InfoWars so people stop buying Alex's supplements from InfoWars, but Alex has already directed them to do that. Any true InfoWars fans are already only buying from Big Lee, so there isn't an audience. That's being persuaded to stop buying shit because they don't want their money to go to the Onion.

So, to be clear, they sell low IQ hats because Alex is a bottom feeder who survives by monetizing any attention that comes his way. And he thought that getting insulted by the president was a pretty good opportunity. Yeah, great opportunity. The guy he spent a decade saying was brought to power by God called him an idiot. So he made a hat that you can wear that says idiot because you're a free thinker.

And in fairness, Harrison is kind of right that the onion is the establishment, but that term really doesn't mean anything anymore. Trump is the establishment. CNN's the establishment. Elon Musk's the establishment. The Daily Show is the establishment. The establishment doesn't carry any kind of consistent position anymore.

And by anyone's count, that's been quite a big success. They've done a good job of bringing back the physical copy of the paper.

But the reality is that their content's just too stupid to parody.

Obviously, a lot of this is just personal attacks, and Harrison is super angry, but I think this also enters into territory that isn't fair. Kat has been one of the larger public in the media voices who's been very clear about Gaza from the beginning and ran a campaign for Congress that pulled no punches on it. Ben was with her and publicly supported her the whole way. To pretend that he's in some way afraid to criticize Israel is nonsense, and this is Harrison being out of his lane. I'm not going to defend every story that Ben ever reported in his career, but in this case, Harrison is not being fair.

After the explosion at this hospital in Gaza, the New York Times. Published a headline saying, Israeli strikes kill hundreds in hospital, Palestinians say. Ben went on the news and reported on this story, and later that headline from the Times was changed to, Hundreds dead in blast at Gaza hospital, Palestinians say, taking away the Israeli strike part of it, which wasn't even something the headline was reporting.

Like, you've worked for that guy for three years after that point. Your identity is based on pretending he's the tip of the spear. What's your criticism of that if you're so mad that you gotta resort to gay bashing slurs to try to attack Ben? Like, it's nonsense.

So I think that one of Harrison's big problems is that the onion isn't funny. And obviously it's a matter of taste.

On Monday, The Onion announced for the second time that they bought InfoWars.

InfoWars isn't really satirizable in a meaningful way.

The content is absurd to the point where anyone trying to create a fake version of it will only succeed in making something that's kind of close to the regular version.

Like, if you parody something that is itself a parody, you kind of help the original thing.

And most people have no idea what Infowars really is.

Well, this caller does bring up something that Alex really should address, and that is that he's claimed he's had the ear of Trump for a long time and then has to do public outbursts to get his attention.

But then goes on to tell a story about how he wore makeup when he had a black eye, so no one would think he was in the Black Eye Club. Right. So he does know about this.

Nothing that anyone does is going to make Alex go away.

But at the end of the day, Alex is a problem that's still going to exist.

Most of the audience that is activated and excited is. Turned against Alex because he's wishy washy on Iran and the Epstein stuff.

On Friday morning, Trump got on Truth Social and posted, It's easy. Tucker's a low IQ person, always easy to beat and highly overrated.

In the lead up to and right after the 2024 election, Tucker was one of the most embarrassing Trump cheerleaders in the media.

He pretended to be attacked by a demon in his bed, and he famously did a speech where he called Trump daddy and said he was home and he was going to spank his unruly children.

The critical thing to understand is that Tucker knew that Trump was a fucking buffoon using religion as a weapon back then. He just liked what he thought Trump was going to do with that weapon.

The reason he's doing that is because the hidden thesis of his argument is that Trump is doing all this stuff because of the Jews.

I mean, I. Tucker has known this all along. It just wasn't a problem until now. Trump's actions have always made a mockery of Christianity, but it used to be profitable for Tucker to pretend that that didn't matter.

Trump's a lame duck president with a VP who looks super weak, heading into the midterms with sinking approval ratings and an unpopular war.
