Radio Show Hour 2 – 2026/02/14
The Political Cesspool’s February 14, 2026, episode spotlights Sarah Dye of Above Time Coffee and Return to the Land’s Caitlin, both pregnant women tied to nationalist movements—Dye after 21 years of marriage, Caitlin within weeks of joining Arkansas’ white intentional settlement. With 700+ Telegram members and replacement-level fertility goals, they discuss balancing activism with family life amid Antifa harassment and declining freedoms. Lydia Brimlow of VDARE highlights the Berkeley Springs Castle’s role in hosting uncensored events like a July birthday party for Confederate Colonel Stute, blending heritage with immigration reform. The episode frames women’s domestic and communal leadership as vital to preserving racial identity and conservative values. [Automatically generated summary]
You're listening to the Liberty News Radio Network, and this is the Political Cesspool.
The Political Cesspool, going across the South and worldwide as the South's foremost populist conservative radio program.
And here to guide you through the murky waters of the Political Cesspool is your host, James Edwards.
You've been dropped back your bone and let your eyes go straight to that girl's heart for me.
Thank you.
Well, Keith, you know, he's retired as so many of the best are these days.
But if you never saw Johnny Rivers live in concert, you really haven't lived a full life.
I can tell you that.
We saw him a lot, and it was always a high octane show.
Welcome back to this show, ladies and gentlemen, our Valentine's Day program 2026.
We are bringing to your attention ladies who certainly serve as role models for their gender.
And these are the ladies, the ladies we're featuring, the ladies in our audience.
These are the ladies that men work for, provide for, fight for, and would die for and have died for.
These are that sort of ladies.
And not all of them are.
Of course, you could say the same thing about men as well, but especially this day and age.
But we have a wonderful roster of ladies on the program tonight and continuing on now with Sarah Dye, who, again, one of the most remarkable ladies I've met through my work on this show for these last two decades plus.
I first talked to Sarah when she and her husband were, of course, working with their farm, Shooter Creek Farms up in Indiana, and that whole situation.
And met Sarah for the first time in person at a talk I gave in Atlanta in 2022.
And we have been fast friends and thickest thieves ever since.
She's come to our last two conferences in South Carolina the last couple of years, Keith.
And every time I see her, she just adds so much to a room and to any gathering she attends.
Sarah, it's great to have you back tonight.
Wow, James, it's an honor to be here.
And that was an absolutely fantastic introduction.
I'm very much honored.
Thank you so much.
Well, you're very welcome, first of all.
And it's earned and well-deserved.
And if anything, I understated it.
And of course, in addition to all of that, you were the founder of Above Time Coffee, which is a brand certainly well known to our audience.
We play the ads every show.
We have been for the last couple of years.
We've used them as fundraising, promotion, incentives, and all kinds of other things.
We'll plug that in a moment.
But yes, you know, Sarah, I think you would absolutely be a perfect lady to ask this question of.
And that is sort of a continuation, and we won't dwell on it anymore tonight after this.
But we were talking with Kim in the first hour, and we were having a conversation last week with Ethan Ralph about it, and that is the e-girl phenomenon.
And I think you strike really an almost perfect balance between devoted wife and nurturing and obviously committed mother of an ever-growing family.
But you've also been out there publicly for our issues.
What do you think is the right balance for a woman in this movement?
Well, thank you.
Yeah, well, for myself, I wasn't public at all until our enemies made me public.
And from that, I decided to double down and go ahead and speak, you know, speak our peace, speak our mind, and speak truth about our cause and what our people are facing.
But prior to that, I was had a very small online presence.
And I still do have a fairly small online footprint.
I don't think I have much more than 2,000 followers, and who's counting?
But yeah, I do wonder if there's some of these women that have got these humongous follower counts, and you know, good for them.
But I guess for me, it's just that family always comes first.
It always has, and it always will.
It comes first before anything else.
It's a huge honor for me to get to be a stay-at-home mother.
We have four children.
My husband and I have been married 21 years.
We're actually celebrating this Valentine's Day 21 years.
Congratulations.
Yeah, thank you.
We're expecting our fifth child.
And I mean, I think the reality of it is.
Yeah, thank you.
The reality of it is family first.
So I haven't ever found that to be a difficult challenge personally.
And again, the ladies that we're having on who are engaged and are active, I mean, Lydia Brimelow later tonight and Linda Baum and others, dutiful, faithful wives of husbands who have led organizations, Gordon Baum and Peter Brimelow, respectively.
And of course, that's not to say that there can't be the exceptions that we talked about.
But yes, overall, I mean, well, anyway, I think we've talked, not necessarily talked about it enough with you because we're just now sort of getting into the topic, but we have talked about it a lot the last couple of weeks.
But I will say this, even though you were sort of a reluctant participant in the public square, as you just mentioned, you appointed yourself very well and you didn't back down.
And you really set an example that a lot of men could serve to follow in holding your ground and fighting and never apologizing and continuing on and doing what you had to do.
Thank you.
Yeah, it certainly has been cathartic.
I remember for years after coming to white identity and racial consciousness, wishing that I could speak the truth and feeling like I always had to keep the truth under a bushel.
And so in a way, as terrible as it was going through that horrible situation with Schooner Creek Farm and that docks of over five years ago now, coming out of it on the other side has been a phenomenal experience that I never would have anticipated when all that was going on.
So I'm here to stay.
And yeah, I won't stop speaking my mind.
And I love to see as many women as possible getting out here and doing the same thing.
Well, you've certainly done that.
If people aren't familiar, of course, with Scooter Creek Farm, you and your husband had this farm.
You were raising organic produce.
You were going to farmers markets.
And Antifa had discovered that you had been involved with, I believe it was Identity Europa at the time, and just basically terrorized you.
And that was how you came to our attention.
But you really do have just a great reputation throughout our ranks and are very well respected for how you carried yourself through that during that and beyond that.
And of course, now founding a new company, Above Time Coffee, and you do stuff.
You're a weaver.
You have these things, these beautiful fabrics that you make.
And I know Keith wants to say hello to you.
Sarah.
Sarah, this is Keith.
I just wanted to comment that you and most of the ladies that we have, in fact, all of them, have apparently figured out how to be a good mother, a good wife, and to support a husband who is also, you know, your ladies and their gentlemen.
There seems to be a problem among our ranks, and particularly the younger generation generally, not just in our ranks, of men and women coupling together.
And I think one of the problems is we act as if hypergamy doesn't exist.
In other words, women have tended to marry up somebody that has more money or more prestigious job or something.
And if you don't have that, then that seems to make men not as attractive to women.
Is that a problem?
And if so, how can the younger generation overcome those problems?
Well, I married for love, and I haven't ever looked back.
And it certainly would be my advice.
I think that when you're really in love with somebody, it doesn't really matter how much money they have.
You're going to work together as a team.
You're going to get through everything.
You're going to move through the seasons of life.
And I would so much rather do that with somebody who I consider my best, closest confidant and friend and lover than just some random person with just marrying for money or something.
So that's my advice.
Well, there is a tendency for hyperbole.
Well, that's been, you know.
I think some of that's apocryphal.
I mean, I haven't seen it with any of the ladies that we're talking to.
It's not one that has happened throughout history.
I think some of that is, you know, for example, we're talking about doctors.
It's very difficult for white males who are straight to get into medical school.
All right, but that's a separate thing.
But I appreciate what you're saying, Keith.
But we only have a limited time with Sarah.
Why We Left Google00:15:08
And I want to be sure to mention Above Time Coffee.
What's the latest going on there?
AboveTimeCoffee.com.
Everybody's probably got that bookmarked.
But Sarah, you're back on the watch there.
So what's going on there?
And give us a final thought on anything.
I told you this would go by fast.
Anything else you want to say?
All right.
Well.
Okay, thank you.
Let me take two quick seconds to add a caveat to that.
Girls, be careful.
You know, make sure you know that it really is love.
Okay.
Don't just, you know, make sure you know what you're doing.
Make sure you're marrying a man that's disqualified, qualified to take care of you and, you know, be your partner through life.
So there's, you know, it's a big subject.
I might have to do another interview about that.
But thank you.
And thank you for the plug for Above Time Coffee.
It is the only nationalist coffee company that is truly for our people, by our people.

You know I love you, my darling angel.
Keith Alexander himself spinning the record on that intro.
Yeah, you don't do much better.
You can't do that.
That's it right there.
That's another doo-wop masterpiece.
One hit wonder pretty much, courtesy.
That was a Spectre recording.
You wouldn't know it because.
Well, you know, Specter did a lot of recordings for individuals that didn't have a big long career, but everything that he did was solid gold.
Ain't that the truth?
Except maybe not so much in his personal life.
No, no, his music production was great.
I would appreciate it.
Wouldn't it have been nice if his personal life was the same?

Well, listen, as our Valentine's Day broadcast 2026 continues, and thank you for being with us tonight on Valentine's Day.
It's February the 14th here on TPC.
Always a special show, made twice as special.
The fact that this year it lands on Saturday, it lands on the 14th.
And we have a first-time guest with us tonight joining the other ladies, and it's Caitlin from the Return to the Land settlement.
And we're going to let her say hello.
Caitlin, great to have you.
Welcome to the show.
Yeah, thank you very much.
I'm honored that you asked me to be here.
I'm very excited.
Well, we appreciate you accepting the invitation.
And just to get things started tonight, I will tell you that I remember watching the Sky News television.
I guess it was more like a mini documentary.
It wasn't just an interview.
It was sort of like a feature.
It had a 20 or 30 minute runtime.
And it was either right before or right, you know, right after Jared Taylor had asked Eric Orwald to speak at the Amran conference.
It was late last spring, early summer, something like that, I think, if my memory serves.
But anyway, Jared and I are in an email group with some of the other suspects, and he had brought that Sky News clip to my attention.
He said I needed to watch it, and I watched it.
And I will tell you this, and this is a program where compliments are earned and not given away for free.
I told Jared and the other people in that chat, I said the ladies in that particular television show really handled themselves with a lot of poise.
And you were one of three, I believe, that were featured in that.
And so congratulations.
I should ask you, I mean, was that something that was acquired?
Because it seems like you'd been doing that for a while.
Thank you very much, sir.
No, I've always been pretty personable.
And when the Sky News reporters came, of course, they were acting as if they were on our side.
I guess you could say I was a little 90s back then.
Yeah, so they were friendlier to us, definitely, than they were to the guys in the group.
I could see after the fact, you know, when the video came out.
But yeah, it was interesting to see like how they were treating us in person.
You know, obviously most reporters are fake.
They're going to try to get you to feel comfortable with them and then crop the clips in a way that still makes them seem fair, but makes you look as bad as possible.
So I was glad to have the community members there with me to make me feel more comfortable.
But yeah, it was interesting to see how it played out.
Well, everything you said is, of course, something that anybody that's been in media certainly comes to know, but you don't know what you don't know until you learn it.
And we've all been there.
But no, I think, you know, what you're saying is true, but just the, you know, again, as I said before, your ability to communicate in that thing.
I mean, had you done any media prior to that, before the Return to the Land initiative got underway?
Not really.
I've been involved in like music and dance growing up, you know, for decades.
So I definitely performed before.
And I did look up a little bit of just media training online, you know, on YouTube.
I think it's very interesting for sure.
Well, you did a good job.
And I have seen since then, since I've become a little more familiar, it did seem as though last spring just more and more people were emailing me and contacting me and telling me to look into Return to the Land.
What do I think about Return to the Land?
I spent some time researching it and then that came up and I watched that whole thing and then we got in touch with Eric.
He came down here last summer and sat in with us for three hours and we've talked to him a few times since then.
And it's just obviously a really remarkable effort that is being put forth there in Arkansas.
And we'll focus on that in just a moment.
But anyway, all that having been said, by the way, folks, if you just Google Sky News Return to the Land, you can watch this short, well, I say it's a documentary.
It's about 20, 30 minutes, I think.
And you'll see Caitlin in there and you'll be able to understand why I'm saying what I'm saying.
But Caitlin, since this is your first time on the program, give the folks a little bit more about your background and what the chain of events that led you to our show tonight.
I did know that you had a musical background, but give us a short Cliff's Notes version.
Yeah, so I was born and raised in a relatively small town in upstate New York.
After college, I moved around quite a bit around the country trying to find the best place to live.
I first lived in Arkansas for a year over a decade ago and then moved around again.
Right after I had my first child, we moved back to New York.
I was living down the street from my childhood home from my parents.
And then when COVID hit, seeing the draconian laws that were being proposed, I just felt like, eh, it's probably time to get out of here.
We bought some land in Arkansas and, you know, started making the necessary preparations to get back down there.
You know, the culture here in Arkansas, I really appreciate they have, you know, conservative values.
They value, you know, just freedom in general.
And let's see, you know, fast forward a few years, most of the board members that are on the board for Return to the Land started out, they met online.
And then we had an IRL work party in Missouri, not too far away from where we ended up buying the land together.
And yeah, I think it was the first work party.
You know, they weren't planning on starting a community per se, but everybody hit it off, got along, and they could see the pros of, you know, if we all go in together, we can, you know, get like everyone can get their goals quicker because, you know, obviously if you're buying land in bulk, you get a better price.
And yeah, it just kind of worked out.
So we're going to get more of your perspective on what a day in the life is like at the land there at the Return to the Land settlement in Arkansas in just a moment.
But a little more background information first.
How did you come to find yourself in agreement or adopt the political issues on racial identity and things of that nature that are, of course, attendant to everything that we're talking about?
Yes.
I would say I've always naturally been kind of a live and let live person, but I didn't really care too much about politics or, you know, get involved or know what was going on until I had children.
And I realized, well, this isn't just for me.
This is for the next generation.
You know, seeing that things are going downhill, it really is important for us to carve out our own spaces because our freedoms are, you know, slowly being taken away one at a time with all these, you know, new laws and stuff.
So, yeah, I think just having children is what really woke me up and motivated me to work towards something higher than myself.
Caitlin, this is Keith Alexander.
Let me ask you about the return to the land settlement you have up there.
What's the ratio of men to women up there?
Oh, I would say there are more men here.
We have a good amount of families, and there's quite a few kids running around.
The guys that live here don't always like, you know, stay the whole time because there's some work to be had here as well.
So, you know, we'll have some people come and go.
But I will say we've had we've had four weddings just in this past year, you know, just in our Ozarks community.
And there's another one scheduled for next month.
So it's pretty family oriented.
Well, you know, the stereotype of our people is that the men are all incels and whatnot and don't seem to get along with women and whatnot.
Or they, you know, they're kind of sour grapes about the whole thing.
Is that stereotype wrong?
And what do you do to make sure that, you know, people pair up there?
Or do you just let nature take its course and don't worry about it at all?
I think that's more of a stereotype on, again, the online, you know, right.
It's not about your organization and Certainly not this program or most of the people that we talk to, but I mean they're just in our movement generally.
Well, a certain corner of it.
Anyway, but Caitlin, you can answer that.
Yeah, yeah, I get what you mean for sure.
It's like, yeah, it usually is online that people, you know, behind a fake avatar are going to voice their opinions more strongly.
But, yeah, I mean, we have a women's group.
So all of the ladies, you know, because our organization is not just in Arkansas, it's actually worldwide.
So, you know, we have an online women's group where, you know, most of us are married, I would say, but there's a few single ladies that have come in and we're like very supportive of trying to get them set up with good guys here.
And yeah, I think it's just we're all of like a more traditional mindset anyway.
So for the most part, the ladies are going to want to follow their husbands and, you know, to be bachelorettes in that particular intentional community.
Return to the land.org.
You know it.
We've been talking about it for several months now.
Return to the land.org.
We're going to be back with Caitlin for one more segment, and we're going to get into the day-to-day life there.
Stay tuned.

And when he walked me home tonight, all those gone to sky and fight.
And then he kissed me.
Happy Valentine's Day, everybody.
Our annual Valentine's Day special program here.
It is all ladies tonight.
One show, 10 different ladies spanning several different generations, all seasons of life, but all wonderful representatives and the kind of women we would put forth for others to emulate all models.
Absolutely.
Caitlin, just a quick question as a total aside, but taking into account your musical background.
Now, if I'm not mistaken, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that not a classical music background?
Yeah, correct.
I played French horn for quite a while.
I like to sing and I have baroque flu also that I like to practice from time to time.
That's wonderful.
Well, listen, so I got to ask you, what's in Caitlin's play?
We don't have CD players anymore anyway.
But anyway, however you listen to music, what's in your scent list?
Ooh.
I mean, Bach is like my go-to.
Wow.
She goes back even further than us, Keith.
Yep.
But also, I married a metalhead, so he got me into some Metallica and stuff like that.
It's been growing on me lately.
I thought we go back to 1950s and early 60s.
Pop is going back a while.
Somewhere between Metallica and Bach.
Yeah.
That's exactly right, Keith.
Very good.
All right.
Well, anyway, so getting back to, I was just Caitlin in the commercial break looking back to see exactly when that was when Eric Orwald came down.
It was August the 16th.
And so he was with us for three hours.
And it was a special show where we had one guest for the full show, which is rare.
But he was here for the full three hours.
And so we really got into just about everything about the who, what, where, when, and why about Return to the Land.
So if you missed that show, folks, and you want to know all that background information, go to the broadcast archives at thepoliticalsesspool.org.
Go back to August the 16th of 2025.
It's all going to be there.
So we're going to ask Caitlin to pick up there and move forward with any updates and progress that have been made since late last summer.
But before I ask you to do that, Caitlin, and we only have this segment remaining with you, I would mention you can follow Caitlin on, well, I still call it Twitter, R-T-T-L-Caitlin is the handle, and she spells Caitlin, C-A-I-T-L-I-N, R-T-T-L, Caitlin.
And she has a lot of photos that, well, really, of a lot of things, but you will find some guided tours around the property.
She does a very good job of putting those together.
Check those out.
But I would say, Caitlin, you know, when you're talking about building something like this, and it's just such a novel idea, and we're all hoping that it works out.
You know, the idea of guys going there and grading undeveloped land and roughing it, you know, you could see guys doing that.
But you were one of the pioneers of this community.
I mean, you didn't wait for any sort of infrastructure such as it is to be developed.
And we haven't actually said this yet, but this is a white intentional community.
This is for white people.
Yeah, we assume that the people listening know that.
But yeah, thank you for reminding us, Keith.
That's important.
But you were there really from day one.
And as I say, you know, look at that Sky News thing.
Some of the other ladies featured, I don't recall their names, but they were equally well spoken and well put together.
Everybody very attractive and fit.
So what was it like for you to be there?
I mean, some ladies may want the nest to be feathered a bit first.
What was it like for you to be there from the very early beginnings of Return to the Land?
Yeah, thank you, sir.
I think a lot of the ladies that are here just naturally have a more adventurous kind of pioneering spirit.
That definitely helps.
And, you know, yeah, there are some rough things about it.
But for me, I love just being able to step outside and be in nature in the woods.
I can send my kids outside to play.
They're not going to get hit by a car or snatched by someone.
Just like yeah, exactly.
Right.
That's a plus.
And then the PDFs are up to knowing.
Sorry.
Sure.
Absolutely.
I mean, we know the area well.
I mean, we're here in Memphis, so we're not that far.
And Keith, you know, right in the Raven Arkansas area up there.
The Ozarks, I'm noticing basically the higher altitude you get, the wider it gets, too.
So it's a good Arkansas and the Ozarks are one of our, you know, go-to places.
Absolutely.
That part of Arkansas, the northern part of Arkansas, going into the southern part of Missouri, I mean, that's God's country.
Those are our people there, and you better believe it.
And my wife, Caitlin, my wife and I, we used to go up before we had kids, especially to Spring River all the time and go by Raven and do, and we still, when we're doing it, Buffalo River, all that stuff out there.
It's just great.
And you've got Even still, when we travel into Missouri, stop at Mammoth Springs, this beautiful country.
I have to imagine y'all got cold a couple of weeks ago when this ice snap came through.
So, what was that like there at the last month there on the property?
Yes, we did.
Yeah, everyone just, you know, hunkered up beforehand to get all your propane and get everything set so that your pipes don't freeze.
You know, yep, get the animals ready, extra straw and hay.
But luckily, it always gets warm.
But the sun also rises, right?
I mean, it does come in.
Where did I hear that before?
Here comes the sun, George Harrison.
But, all right, so Caitlin, let's get to this.
And we want you to be able to plug any contact information, any fundraisers for Return to the Land, anything you want to do.
So, this is the big question.
So, give us a quick two-minute update on any progress.
I mean, there's new structures, new building going on all the time, new people joining since August of last year.
What are the things that have been going on there for the last five or six months?
Yeah, so like I said, we've got a few dozen people living here in this community, mostly families.
Online, we have like a members-only telegram group, and that has over 700 members, you know, like I said, worldwide.
And we have, you know, regional chats for people to network with people in their area specifically.
Let's see, we have some different groups that members have set up.
Like, you know, like I said, we have the women's group, we have like a language study group for Old English and reading groups, agriculture groups.
We have two big events here twice a year.
So, in October and April, we have events where everyone can come here, camp out, get together, have some speakers, fellowship.
You know, we provide all the food for that.
So, we're already starting to, you know, get ready for that.
But you have to be a member in order to be able to attend.
So, you would just need to go to return to the land.org and go through that process of being vetted first.
And then, if you also go to that website, you can see the different fundraisers that we have.
We have a legal fundraiser for any law affair that comes against us.
We have like a family incentives program so that new children that are born here, the parents can, you know, get some money to help them out.
Are you having a baby boom?
Yeah, we kind of are.
Yeah, I'm actually here in less than two weeks.
So, I really, you know, you are the second lady this hour.
Welcome to the much slandered group of boomers then.
Listen, you are the second guest this hour who has announced a pregnancy on the program.
Congratulations, Caitlin.
And again, you too can be a boomer.
So, that was a baby that would have, I'm trying to do the math here, conceived there on the land.
So, this is when we're talking about building communities and raising families, and that's one of the things we focus on here with our Valentine's Day program.
Healthy families, healthy communities.
Well, you've got the community.
Now, the families are growing.
But, of course, doing what comes naturally, right?
Indeed.
Well, you get that nest, you get that security, and our people do tend to reproduce.
Yes, I mean, that is a fact.
And of course, anything good and healthy, though, is going to be attacked.
And there is, you know, always the wolves at the encampment.
Yeah.
So you said those fundraisers can be found at return to the land.org, Caitlin.
Correct.
Yep.
And all the information about us too, you know, our mission, values, everything will be on there.
It's one of the most unique and promising things.
It's definitely something outside the box that's being tried, and it seems to have very sturdy leadership, and it's growing.
It's again, it's growing in every way that it could be in terms of people, physically, and structurally.
And I look forward to talking with someone with you again, Caitlin, soon and other people from the community and to give us regular updates.
And I'm so glad that we were able to connect with you and have you on tonight so we could spend a little time on this Valentine's Day program, sort of resetting and getting back to the things that matter.
And if listen, I mean, that's another reason why it is so important to highlight these women tonight.
Our civilization goes nowhere without the wombs that carry the future generations.
Yeah, remember that the first one is the hardest.
After you've had about three, you'll spit them out like watermelon seeds, right?
Yeah, thank you.
You just got a group that entertain each other.
Yep.
That's exactly right.
And you've got a growing family.
You've already got a couple.
And thank you so much for sharing that good news.
What good news tonight?
We are reaching replacement level fertility every day.
Caitlin, thank you so much.
It was great to talk to you for the first time.
I am sure it will not be the last.
God bless you.
And take care up there.
Give our best to everybody in the community.
We'll talk again soon.
Will do.
And thank you, sir, for all the work you put in for our people as well.
I appreciate it.

Weddings and World Problems00:03:11
You know where the solution can be found, Mr. President?
In churches, in wedding chapels, in maternity wards across the country and around the world.
More babies will mean forward-looking adults, the sort we need to tackle long-term, large-scale problems.
American babies in particular are likely going to be wealthier, better educated, and more conservation-minded than children raised in still industrializing countries.
As economist Tyler Cowan recently wrote, quote, by having more children, you're making your nation more populous, thus boosting its capacity to solve climate change.
The planet does not need for us to think globally and act locally so much as it needs us to think family and act personally.
The solution to so many of our problems at all times and in all places is to fall in love, get married, and have some kids.
Clouds until it rains.
Well, that one's one that's going to go out to our guest in the previous segment.
That was one of our pop songs from the 60s.
We love so much, Keith.
Of course, a lover's concerto, which was inspired by the 18th century composition minuet in G major.
And that's been attributed to Bach, who Caitlin mentioned.
But some say it was actually composed by Christian Petzel, but we won't quipple.
It's a great song, right?
Yeah.
Oh, you got to turn your mic on.
Yeah, I better turn this back on.
Yeah.
But Metallica had nothing to do.
No, Metallica didn't do that one.
Well, listen, I don't even know how this is possible.
I want to apologize in advance.
I don't know why this is the first time Lydia Brimlow is appearing on the program.
Somebody better fire the scheduler around here as long as we've known each other.
But it is great to have her, and especially great to have you tonight, Lydia, on our annual Valentine's Day program, which is a ladies' showcase.
And boy, there's not many ladies in our ranks that cast a wider shadow than you.
And it's great to have you on tonight.
How are you?
Well, I'm doing fine.
Hey, I don't know how to take that.
Well, now, come on.
You know what I mean?
In terms of reputation and effectiveness, go ahead, Lydia.
He's not saying you're overweight, in other words, right?
You've been married a long time.
You know better than to talk about casting wide shadows.
I think it's a very slim shadow, actually.
Right, right, exactly.
Castle Easter Bash00:09:33
Indeed, indeed.
Unless you've changed a great deal since the last time we saw you.
No, that's not.
Anyway, it's great to have you, of course.
Lydia, the wife of the legendary Peter Brimlow, who was most recently with us just a couple of weeks ago.
And she, you know, for all of the respect and reverence VDAR has had over these many years in our ranks, I mean, you, Lydia, of course, behind the scenes in terms of administratively and in your capacity as a fundraiser par excellence, really had a lot to do with all the success that Peter did.
And we're showcasing some women like that tonight.
So I just want to give you a tip of the hat of that and then turn it over to you to talk about anything you want to talk about.
But it is, again, great to have you tonight.
Well, thank you so much.
I did not expect to have the role that I did at VDARE, but when I married Peter after a few years, I realized that I could lend a hand and I could help out.
And it really, you know, was something that you really grabbed a tiger by the tail, didn't you?
And we've always worked together really well.
So it was a joy to work with him.
And we both believe very strongly in the VDARE mission.
And he's gone on, you know, the story of VDARE has been told, but he now is at PeterBrimlow.com.
I am still over at the Berkeley Springs Castle.
So that's the historic building that we bought to house our conferences back when that was something that we were felt like would really make a difference.
And it did make a difference while we were able to do it.
And it is run by a separate nonprofit called the Berkeley Springs Castle Foundation.
And it's incorporated here in West Virginia.
And it's totally run by volunteers.
So I have a crew of about 70 people who are either locals or they drive in.
Some of them drive in from out of state to help us keep the castle up and running as a historic, it's on the National Historic Registry, and we have community events going on there.
And we also are still, we host conferences and things like that for special, you know, if people want to have a special private meeting, that's sort of our M.O.
So right now what I'm working on is actually, I'm going to have a meeting on Saturday.
We're going to do our first ever Easter egg roll.
It's going to be on April 4th.
And there's going to be an Easter bunny there for people to get their kids with pictures.
And we're doing stuff pretty much every month.
So at the BerkeleyspringsCastle.com website, you can see get tickets, make reservations, and we do historical tours all through the summer as well.
Those will start up again in April.
And we have a wonderful, wonderful volunteer who I took on a tour a couple of years ago, and he fell in love with the castle and became kind of obsessed with it.
He's written a book about it.
He's done incredible amounts of research on the history of it.
And he is our main tour guide.
So it's a really remarkable tour.
And if anybody's ever in the area, I just encourage them to either look up on the website and see if there's something fun that they can attend or just contact me or Peter and we'd be happy to open it up.
So between those two things, we still have our activities that are keeping us busy and both on patriotic immigration reform, which, like I say, is on Peter's website now, peterbrimalo.com, and then also just maintaining this venue so that people who want to have special meetings and don't want to worry about getting hassled or getting canceled, they can have it right here in beautiful Berkeley Springs.
I am at the website right now.
What a great pitch, Lydia.
I mean, I say pitch.
I don't mean that in a negative way.
I mean, that was just a very great presentation about what you're doing now.
And I'm at the website, BerkeleySpringsCastle.com.
Berkeley's built like the place in California.
This is a lot nicer place.
Berkeleyspringscastle.com.
It is in a bucolic area of West Virginia.
Where exactly in West Virginia is that?
So it's in the eastern panhandle.
We are right on the Potomac River.
And if you cross the Potomac, you're in Maryland.
We are just under two hours from the U.S. Capitol.
Are you in that little, like, it's like a little arrow or a stick that sticks up part of West Virginia?
Or are you down more in the main part of it?
So I think of West Virginia as looking kind of like a tadpole because it has this main sort of circular body at the bottom and then two legs.
And one of the legs sticks sort of up north-south.
That's not ours.
The one that's further east and kind of hooks toward the east, that's where we are.
I got you.
Well, I will tell you, folks, I have been there.
And when they say it's a castle, they don't mean it's a big house.
Did you refer that whole place yourself?
Was this much in that good of shape when you bought it?
Well, see, Keith's asking that because we're at the website right now and we're watching sort of the video slideshow.
And it is, folks, you've all got to go there.
BerkeleySpringsCastle.com.
It is a castle full-on with ramparts and parapets and crosses etched into the stone.
And it is in a resort town, Berkeley Springs.
They have bathhouses.
They've got shopping.
They've got a beautiful little mom-and-pop hotel that's sort of at the base of the mountain that the castle is perched.
There's a parapet there.
It's just great.
And there's special events, as Lydia said.
She mentioned Easter coming up, but they do a big thing at Christmas every year.
They've got a dragon that sits on top of the castle.
It's a very well-known.
Go ahead.
I was just working on updating the ticket page today.
I don't think it's updated, but it will be very soon.
We have the Easter egg thing coming up in April, Community Day.
We have a Community Day every April and every October.
And that is when we give free tours of the castle in exchange for people rolling up their sleeves and helping us with garden cleanup.
And that is actually one of our more popular events.
It's always amazing to me how many people are willing to just help out in exchange for nothing.
I mean, except for, you know, fraternity and a little bit of refreshment.
And so that's coming up on April 18th.
May 10th, we're having a Mother's Day tea.
That's the Saturday before Mother's Day.
That'll be a ticketed event in July.
We have a big Victorian-themed birthday party celebrating the birthday of the man that built the castle, Colonel Samuel Taylor Stute.
And we have Victorian reenactors come and we all have birthday cake, and it's a lot of fun.
And Columbus Day weekend is a big deal in Berkeley Springs.
We have the Apple Butter Festival, which at one point was rated by National Geographic as one of the best small-town festivals in the country.
And they block off all the streets and build fires in the streets and have these huge kettles over the fires where they're stirring apple butter all weekend.
And the castle fully participates in that.
We have an antique cider press.
So you can come up and take a whole apple and throw it in the cider press, grind it up, crank it, and then drink it on the other end.
And all those apples are donated to us by a local farm.
It's located about five miles from the castle.
And you can, if you're not the head of the Chamber of Commerce there, I'm going to nominate you.
Well, she should be.
She serves as she and Peter Dosens, proprietors, caretakers of this historic landmark.
It really is the iconic landmark of the town.
It really makes you think you're in sort of like a medieval village in Europe.
Except for the things that they're coming too.
But they're still likable.
Humble but lovable.
But this castle sets sort of like guards the town underneath it.
And if you fly into Washington, you're in a car, it's a short drive.
And there's all kinds of special events and they host conferences.
We've had a conference there for another group that I work with.
And I'd like to go back.
And so this is, anyway, you can get the information there at Berkeleyspringscastle.com.
I've been there, so I can tell you from personal experience, it's definitely a great place for a nice romantic weekend and see the castle.
You could go there just to meet Peter and Lydia.
I mean, that'd be worth the trip.
But hang out with the legendary Peter and Lydia Brimlow for a few hours or a day or two.
Lydia went by way too fast.
We really should have gone a little bit longer.
But this is an ensemble broadcast.
We love you.
Thank you so much for the role you play and all you do as a wife, as a mother, your wonderful family, your beautiful daughters.
