Mugshot Moment 00:04:14

What is going on, Patriots?
This is Tate Brown here holding it down for the Timcast News Live Show.
We are here live from the beautiful Timcast Studios here in beautiful West Virginia.
There's still a lot of snow on the ground.
It's still a little cold out, and I think it's going to sort of stay that way.
I think we're going to have this really keeno snow everywhere.
It reminds me of Blade Runner 2047.
I lay back in the snow and stare in the air.
It's a dream.
It's the dream for a man to bleed out in the snow.
So I sort of just anticipate that happening at some point.
So I like to lay in the snow to prepare myself for that moment.
We are here live, obviously, taking you into the afternoon on the Rumble Daily lineup.
We should have Steven Crowder's audience joining us.
So thank you if you're with the Mug Club.
The highest concentration of Patriots in America is the Crowder Mug Club.
So I've heard, every time I meet a Mug Clubber, they're a total Patriot, great people.
So with that, we have some huge stories for you today.
Obviously, the story everyone's talking about is Trump and Tom Homan withdrawing, winding down the deportation operation in Minneapolis.
Obviously, I'll be the first to say, I mean, I think I've made it quite clear by now that I'm an ardent supporter of the Trump regime, campaign, administration, whatever you want to call it.
And I've been very supportive of virtually every immigration operation they've conducted so far.
I don't know if it's the best look in the world, the way that this has gone about with Tom Homan's statement this morning, basically just saying we're withdrawing completely and we're winding down the deportation operation.
Obviously, a lot of people that already have their minds made up about Trump and the second term and his performance thus far have already pounced on this and they've said, oh, well, that's the end of mass deportations.
He's capitulating to the left.
The leftists have gotten what they've wanted out of the situation.
And I do actually sort of sympathize with that, you know, rhetoric a bit.
There's a lot of good people that are a little frustrated with this decision.
Again, they're seeing this as just sort of giving the left what they want.
This is obviously what they wanted out of Minnesota.
Their victory condition in Minneapolis was a withdrawal of federal agents from the city.
And it appears that could be what's happening.
Again, we have to see how this plays out because if there's one thing that you have to understand about Trump is his statements and his administration's statements are usually a bit different from the actual reality on the ground.
So we're going to take a look at what Homan had to say and we're going to take a look at some of the newest developments on the immigration front on the deportations front from the Trump administration and try to really figure out what's going on and unpack this situation a little bit more because obviously people are freaking out a little bit.
And on this show, something I like to do is take a step back from the sort of engagement farming that's going on all across social media where people are just ready to declare MAG as dead at any moment.
And I want to actually, you know, see what's going on here.
Is Mag actually dead?
I don't think so.
He's a bit more durable than I think people think.
I mean, does anybody remember the Rob Reiner tweet?
Are we still hung up on that?
Like, Trump tends to move past these things quite quickly.
So I'm not thrilled about the statement, but we'll take a look.
We'll see what's going on with that situation.
We also have a few more stories to get to.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
I don't know if that name rings a bell.
One of the richest men in Britain.
Depending on who you ask, he's the richest man in Britain.
Other people, I think the press is saying he's the seventh richest man in Britain.
Regardless, a very, very influential man in general, internationally, but within Britain, he's a huge power player.
He made a statement yesterday that has caused a firestorm in Britain and the British press, where he basically just called it how it is.
He said, well, the immigration is completely out of control in Britain and it's changing the country forever for the worse.
And of course, everyone to the right of or to the left of Nigel Farage basically is coming out and saying, This is evil.
This is such an evil thing to say.
You know, how could someone feel this way?
How could someone be opposed to their country being changed forever?
Well, we'll take a look at what he had to say and some of the reactions from around the political zeitgeist.
A few more stories we can get to.
Rumble Wallet Revolution 00:03:23

There's been some discussion around remigration, some potential, some data points coming out that are quite shocking regarding some of these different diasporas that have been coming into the West, specifically with remittances.
Remittances is something that's not talked about enough when it comes to the remigration regime, but this is something that absolutely needs to be hit on.
Again, the big, beautiful bill that includes some provisions for potentially trying to tamp down on migrants sending money back home.
I think this is a huge play that really needs to be made.
We really need to hammer hard on the remittance front.
And another story we have, if we can get to it, is sort of some discourse centered around Christianity, the state of Christianity in the United States.
Is it true that Zoomers are really flocking en masse back to Christianity, or is this maybe just headlines?
Are Zoomers converting en masse to Catholicism?
Is this really true?
Or is this maybe just a beltway phenomenon?
Regardless, we're going to talk about that if we have time.
We'll get to that.
And then we have a fantastic guest joining us at the half hour mark.
And he's going to come in.
He's with the Freedom Caucus, a new Freedom Caucus being established in West Virginia.
And he'll be breaking down some of the insanity going on all across West Virginia and Virginia alike.
So with that, before we get into the news, I do want to shout out one of two of today's sponsors.
It is Rumble Wallet.
My goodness.
You may have seen when Rumble Wallet first launched, we were actually at Rumble's headquarters in Florida.
We brought on Chris Pavloski to ask him about the Rumble Wallet.
It's an exciting new product that has been released.
With that, I do want to tell you about Rumble Wallet.
You may have seen the conversations happening online lately.
Censorship is back and it's happening everywhere.
Platforms are controlling narratives and pushing the stuff that they want us to see.
We need to fight back.
So true.
Rumble is the only company that has stood the test of time and deserves our support.
On one side, Rumble is challenging big tech censorship, but now on the other side, they have introduced something that will give us protection from the big banks shutting us off.
Banks can cancel our accounts and freeze our cards.
That is why Rumble has launched the Rumble Wallet, a wallet that no one can cancel and a wallet that supporters can use to instantly tip creators like myself without any middleman taking cuts.
With Rumble Wallet, you control your money.
Not a bank, not a government, not a tech company.
Not even Rumble can touch it.
With Rumble Wallet, you control your money.
It is yours.
It is only yours, yours to protect your future and family.
You can buy and save digital assets like Bitcoin and Tether Gold in one place.
Tether Gold is a real gold on the blockchain with ownership of physical gold bars.
Chris is actually telling me about this.
You can go to Switzerland and verify that your gold bars are there, which is really something.
It is not only a wallet to buy and save, but it also allows you to support your favorite creators by easily tipping them with the click of a button.
There will be no fees when you tip my channel, well, the Tim Cash channel or others.
And we actually receive the tip instantly.
Unlike other platforms, we have to wait for payouts.
This is true.
I've seen it firsthand.
It's really something.
Support the show and other creators by clicking the tip button on the Rumble channel.
It's wallet.rumble.com.
As you can see here, we have it up on the screen.
Download Rumble Wallet today, open an account, and step back away from the big banks for good.
Wallet.rumble.com or search Rumble Wallet in the app stores.
Really a tremendous product.
Super cool stuff.

So very, very exciting to see.
So yeah, like I said, that half, we'll have Andy Roth coming on.
He's with the State Freedom Caucus in West Virginia.
I'm very excited about that.
But before we get to the interview, we have quite a bit of news to get through.
So let's get to this first story.
This is what everyone is talking about.
Everyone's freaking out.
This was the clip that's been going around this morning.
This is the copy that Disclose TV put.
With Trump's approval, Border Sard Tom Homan announces that the deportation surge Operation Minnesota will conclude.
Take a look at what he had to say.
tom homan
With that, the success that has been made arresting public safety threats and other priorities since this surge operation began, as well as the unprecedented levels of coordination we have obtained from state officials and local law enforcement.
I have proposed, and President Trump has concurred, that this surge operation conclude.
A significant drawdown has already been underway this week and will continue to the next week.
tate brown
So obviously people are not super thrilled about this for good reason.
I think I'm going to steel man the opposition here.
Because like I said at the top of the show, the victory condition for the left in Minneapolis was a drawdown, right?
That's what they wanted.
That's what they said.
I mean, their signs, ICE out, get these people out of here.
We don't want you here.
This is our community.
We saw Kyle Reddit House, you know, the big chunky guy with the firearm walking around his neighborhood because he wanted to repel ICE from the city.
There's two different.
My apologies.
My throat is still very dry from the week.
I promise next week I'll be firing on all cylinders.
There's two sort of lines of thinking here of how we should move forward.
The first one is do not let up until every illegal immigrant has been removed from Minneapolis and to crush these leftist protesters.
Again, we saw this.
If you remember, this entire operation in Minneapolis started following Nick Shirley's video.
Nick Shirley, obviously a street journalist, citizen journalist, he went on the ground in Minneapolis and he documented all these daycares that were operating in Minneapolis with basically no children, exposing this massive racket that was going on at the behest of the Somali community, I guess for lack of a better word, in Minneapolis.
It was really a really dramatic thing.
I mean, it was shocking to see fraud right before your very eyes because typically these sorts of things you see in data or you see different headlines, but it's unclear what it actually looks like.
Actually, going there with a camera and seeing these daycares firsthand and making these people defend what they've been up to was really something to see.
And in response, you know, the DHS at Kirsty Gnome's direction flooded the city with 3,000 agents.
So there's 3,000 DHS agents that were deployed to the city to mop up Tim Waltz's mess, the governor of Minnesota, the seriously retarded governor of Minnesota per President Trump.
And so this happened.
The DHS agents flood the city.
And following that, the leftist agitators all across the city and all across the country, because we had the obviously the leftist elements in Minneapolis, but people sort of pouring in from across the country.
You were seeing some of these interviews on the streets or some of these arrests, people from Portland, Seattle, really everywhere, Chicago, Missouri, even.
I think Renee Goode hailed from Missouri.
So you saw all these people coming in to the city, and it really became kind of this flashpoint for effectively being a referendum on Trump's deportation operation.
And it turned into a thing.
That's what happened.
It turned into a thing.
So then the Renee Good killing happens, you know, where she tries to ram an ICE agent with her car.
And things just really get out of control there.
And so that's when there was two options presented to the Trump administration: is, A, do we keep pressing on here?
Because look, when the initial surge of DHS agents flooded into the city, we knew what the victory condition was for the left.
They wanted to just repel the federal government completely.
But it was unclear what the win condition was for the Trump administration.
How many deportations do we need before we could say job is done?
It became kind of a quagmire in some ways, I would say, again, to maybe defend the Trump administration, because what exactly would the victory look like for us?
Every single Somali deported from Minneapolis, I mean, this would take quite a long time.
Every leftist arrested, every leftist agitator arrested.
Again, these are things that I would like to see, but how realistic is that to happen within a few months?
I don't think that's entirely realistic.
Again, these sorts of things take quite a bit of time.
You know, rounding up every Somali in Minneapolis.
It's not entirely realistic to happen in a few months.
But it's also, you kind of have to negotiate from a position of strength.
I mean, we learned this in the Biden administration when they withdrew from Afghanistan.
It's similar to here.
Okay, the correct decision probably is to eventually start winding down in Afghanistan.
There's no question about that.
The Trump administration actually was the one that implemented the plan to withdraw from Afghanistan.
But it's when you sort of give away your hand, when you just leave suddenly, it turns into a bit of a mess.
And so, again, withdrawing from a position of strength is very vital here.
And so that's the calculation the Trump administration has to make in Minneapolis with this deportation surge operation is they have to determine, have we accomplished our goal, right?
What was the goal?
Have we accomplished?
Okay, now it's time to withdraw.
And that's, I think, what is occurring here because, again, there's only so many resources to go around with these three-letter agencies, ICE, CPB, DHS.
Like, they only have so many agents.
How long do we want to keep bearing down in Minneapolis?
That's the question.
And it appears that Trump and Tom Homan have both made the calculation that, okay, it's time to start reallocating some of these resources elsewhere in the country to continue this deportation operation.
Things in Minneapolis maybe have gotten to the point where it's not entirely productive to be there.
And that's a fair calculation to make.
And it's something that I would concur with.
The problem, and I've made this point since the operation began in Minneapolis, is you kind of have to make a statement in Minneapolis.
Like this is different than if we were conducting operations in Los Angeles or Seattle or wherever in the country is what happened in Minneapolis is it became the flashpoint.
It became the battleground for pro-ICE and anti-ICE, really just ICE versus these anti-ICE leftist agitators.
And so that's why this withdrawal of this statement does feel like a capitulation of sorts.
People are saying, well, you're kind of giving them what they want, even if this is something we would have done anyway.
It's about the optics, right?
So the question is now, with this withdrawal, does this embolden leftists?
Does this give them the feeling that, hey, if we chimp out long enough, we can repel federal agents from our cities?
It's a question that's worth pondering.
Later in this press briefing, Tom Homan said something quite encouraging.
So here's what he had to say.
Here's the copy from Disclose, they said, from Tom Homan.
For those that say we are backing down from immigration enforcement or the promise of mass deportations, you're simply wrong.
Look at the data.
So here's what he had to say.
Take a look at this.
tom homan
For those that say we are backing down from immigration enforcement or the promise of mass deportations, you are simply wrong.
Look at the data.
Record number of arrests and deportations under President Trump's first year.
And we'll continue that effort.
Prioritizing public safety threats and national security threats doesn't mean we'll forget about everybody else.
We will take action on everybody else.
That's just a stone cold fact.
tate brown
So this is why I think the correct take here is actually a bit in the middle, right?
That's not like a nuclear hot take or anything.
I'm not trying to sound like a fence sitter here, but I think it's true.
I think you can simultaneously be disappointed in this decision because it does feel like it emboldens leftist activists while preventing, you know, while not just coming out and saying mass deportations aren't happening, MAGA is dead, et cetera, et cetera.
Like this headline hit at the same time.
Because what you have to do when you're analyzing the Trump administration's performance on deportations is what is the left's reaction?
You know, do they are they celebrating?
Are they saying, finally, mass deportations is over?
Because people on the right, you know, a lot of different people from a variety of positions or sort of, I guess, ideologies that are on the right in this big tent are declaring that MAGA is dead.
They're declaring that mass deportations is not happening.
It's a failure.
But what is the left saying?
They're not saying that.
They're not saying MAGA is dead.
They're not saying mass deportations are over.
They're saying the opposite.
They're saying, you know, this is the most dramatic escalation from the right in history.
We're terrified.
This is an authoritarian regime.
They have not, I don't think they actually view this as a victory because this was a headline from NBC News.
And this is true.
This is what's happening.
Trump administration is dramatically expanding effort to revoke U.S. citizenship for foreign-born Americans as it works to curb immigration.
So again, we're seeing remigration.
This has been the take it.
Remigration, this is what we've been wanting to see from the Trump administration is, okay, it's one thing to deport violent criminals.
That's great.
That's the priority, obviously, because of the people that are actively harming Americans.
But if we really want to conduct mass deportations, part of what's going to have to happen is we need to take a look at the citizenship of a lot of these people that have showed up recently.
Because again, if you're trying to restore the country to a previous sort of iteration, you need to look at a lot of these people that came in recently.
So this is, again, very encouraging.
unidentified
One sec, one sec.
tate brown
This is very encouraging from the Trump administration that, again, they're taking a look at remigration.
They're actually expanding a remigration sort of regime here.
So again, this is why I think you can simultaneously be disappointed with the decision that was made in Minneapolis without declaring that we're failing because we're certainly succeeding on the deportation front.
I mean, this is still absolutely massive.
Again, I put this tweet up right before we went live here.
It's from CBS News.
This was the headline: As pathways to freedom have narrowed and immigration courts across the United States, a record number of detainees are giving up their cases and voluntarily leaving the country.
So obviously, you have These people on the left who are declaring that Trump's running concentration camps.
So, again, what do you have people on the right that are declaring MA is dead?
Mass deportations are happening.
That's one thing.
People on the left don't think that that's the case.
People on the left are accurately analyzing the situation.
They're saying we're bleeding, we're losing.
And they're declaring this as concentration camps.
As I said, this is the most benevolent concentration camp in history where you're encouraged to leave and go home.
So, with that, I mean, you have to go back to the larger reality because it's one thing to do these shock and awe campaigns like we're seeing in Minneapolis.
But when you look at the whole, what's been happening with the Trump administration, what is the general mood, what is the atmosphere around migration in the United States?
Again, it's not favorable.
It's not favorable for pro-immigration proponents.
This was from the Census Bureau.
This is a headline.
New population estimates show historic decline in net international migration peaked at 2.7 million in 2024 and has declined to 1.3 million in 2025.
So, again, you're seeing they're projecting it to decline further, another 320,000.
So, again, if you're looking at the deportation situation, the general environment around migration in the United States is still very much in the camp of mass deportation.
It's certainly taking the boot off of the neck and allowing Americans to not feel like we're being completely flooded here.
We've turned the tap off.
That's really something.
That's really something a sight to behold.
This is why I want to get into where the Trump administration should continue to press.
This is sort of a team of analysts that post some really useful information on Twitter.
The White Papers Policy Institute put this data up.
37% of Nicaragua's GDP is remittances from the United States, 6.2 billion.
So remittances is when a foreigner that's in the United States make money from the American economy.
They extract money from the American economy and they send it back to their home country.
This is what our remittance is.
And a lot of people that are, you know, wanting to see mass deportations to the United States, they say, this is all great.
You can deport people.
But to really kick this into overdrive, you need to eliminate the incentive structures for people to be in the United States in the first place.
And the main way to do that would be to cut off remittances.
It would make it very difficult for people that are here working in the United States to send money back to their families, to their friends, et cetera, in their home country.
So I'll read here some of the data.
37%, I read that one.
25% of El Salvador's GDP is remittances from America.
27% of Honduras's economy has remittances.
19% of Guatemala's economy.
70% of Hispanic migrants are using the welfare state.
So again, 70% of migrants from Latin America are currently using some form of welfare assistance from the United States government.
Americans are paying, effectively, this is a laundering operation where Americans are paying money to Latin American migrants who then in turn send that money back to their home countries.
unidentified
It's the American economy.
tate brown
It's the American economy.
They're extracting money from the American economy and from American taxpayers and they are shipping that money overseas.
That's what the remittance system is.
And then as you can see here, these countries, their GDP is dependent on remittances from the United States.
It's absolutely shocking to see.
And so this is why people have accurately come to the conclusion that the only way to really clamp down on migration to again, people will just start self-deporting if they can no longer justify their existence in the United States because they're not making enough money to send back home.
Raugh Nationalist, he put some thoughts up, and this is 100% accurate.
Remittances Strain America 00:04:49
tate brown
He's British, and Britain's obviously dealing with a similar situation.
One of the easiest ways to achieve this would be to tax remittances at 100%.
America should do this.
The UK should do this.
Every nation that wants to send home millions of migrants should do this.
If they can send that taxpayer money home, many will go home voluntarily.
It's absolutely true.
I know in the Big Vival Bill, there was a provision to start taxing remittances, but this should be taxed at 100%.
If you're coming to the United States, if you come here, you know, whatever, if you want to reside here, you shouldn't have one foot out the door.
You shouldn't have any loyalty to your home country.
You should be all in.
There shouldn't be an instance where it occurs to you to send money back to your home country.
This is why taxing remittances at 100% would be a no-brainer because then the people that would be coming here would not be coming here with the intention of funding people in a different country.
They would be coming here to operate 100% all America.
So really some dramatic stuff.
With that, the immigration debate is all over the place.
People are still going at it.
This was yesterday, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
He put this, he made this statement.
Tommy Robinson got the clip here.
Quote, the UK is colonized by immigrants.
Man United co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, says, very, very wealthy man.
Again, some are saying he's the wealthiest, and Britain is worth like $20 billion.
You can't have an economy with 9 million people on benefits and huge levels of immigration coming in.
I mean, the UK has been colonized.
It's costing too much money.
The UK has been colonized by immigrants, really hasn't it.
I mean, the population of the UK was 58 million in 2020.
Now it is 70 million.
That is 12 million people.
If you're a little new around here, Britain, the native population is declining.
They have a negative birth rate.
It's the same thing in the United States, but the UK, their birth rate's even lower.
So 12 million people, that's not births, certainly not births from natives.
That is new arrivals to the country.
And if you ask young people in the United States or the United Kingdom how they're faring, they're not going to be very, they're not going to complement the economic conditions in their country.
To say the least, it's very limited, right?
Housing's extremely limited.
Most young people have given up on owning a home.
They're having difficulties in the job market.
They're struggling to find jobs.
Even cars, it's really difficult to find a used car that's affordable that you can make your commutes in.
It's really just grim.
And if the population is declining for young people, it should actually be easier for young people to get a leg up because there'd be more resources freed up because the older population is larger.
So that means there's more resources coming down the pike for young people.
Everything should be getting cheaper.
And that's not happening because they're flooding the country.
So if you're, you know, like me, you're 25 years old and you're now sort of setting up your life.
Now you're competing against the entire third world who will work for half the prices you and their expectations.
Their standards are far lower.
They'll live in tighter, they'll pack more people into a house.
They'll accept an inferior car, these sorts of things.
So Jim Ratcliffe's absolutely correct here.
And of course, everyone's freaking out.
Suella Braverman, she's a reform candidate or a member of parliament.
There's a lot of controversy over here, but she made a good statement here.
People squabble over terminology, but Jim Ratcliffe is right.
Many areas of Britain are now totally unrecognizable compared to 50, 20, or even 10 years ago.
Unprecedented levels of mass migration today make me so angry.
The British people have seen how their streets have changed, how multiculturalism has failed and their sense of pride and history has been altered and distorted.
They have been called racist for speaking the truth, but Britain's culture and resources have been eroded.
Mass migration is the problem.
And this is absolutely correct.
And this is a really actually excellent framing from Suella Braverman because, look, you can make all the economic arguments of why migration, mass migration is failing the native populations of these countries.
And there's no question about that.
But even if these people were like net contributors to the economy, even if it was like a miracle mass migration, I think people still have the right to have a say over what their country actually looks like.
So again, let's just straw, let's just, for the sake of argument, let's just say that these migrants coming to the United States, for example, were actually net contributors.
Let's say they are outperforming Americans.
Let's say that they were net contributors to the economy, to the tax base.
Like these people were economic miracles.
We would still, as Americans, have the right to not want them here because we would like America to remain the same.
We would like America to be familiar.
We would like our cities, our towns, our schools to be American.
That's a perfectly valid concern to have.
Like the demographic composition of your country is up for debate.
That is a valid concern to have.
And so that's why I think this framing is actually excellent from Suella Braverman here because she's conceding that, yes, like economically, it makes no sense to have migration.
And that alone, I use these arguments all the time.
Why America Wants Familiar Faces 00:03:04
tate brown
I just did for 20 minutes.
Alone, not the migrate on migration alone, the economic argument should be enough to remove all these people from the country.
But beyond that, these people are changing the country.
The UK is different now.
I go there all the time.
The UK is not British anymore in a lot of parts of it.
And it's not just London anymore.
It used to be just London, but now it's Huddersfield.
Huddersfield is completely capitulated.
As Jim Ratcliffe put, it's been colonized by foreigners.
That's 100% correct.
And that's unacceptable.
And as you can see here, the leftist or left-wing media in Britain is freaking out.
LBC, one of their commentators, said Jim Ratcliffe is wrong in every meaningful way.
James O'Brien can't believe that the media are welcoming debate as to whether the Man United's owners' comments were right.
Carl Benjamin, absolutely correct here.
Jim Ratcliffe is directly over the target.
All they can do is splutter, curse, and spit at him, but they cannot describe how he is wrong.
So absolutely correct.
I'm glad Jim Ratcliffe actually stood up and he's, as we can tell, still standing on business.
Kier Starmer, the prime minister, has called for him to apologize, but he shouldn't because he's correct.
And I think everyone in Britain is sort of understanding that he is correct because they can just look around their high street, as we would call it, their main street, and see that it is different.
It is no longer British.
And we have the right for our children to inherit a country that is British, that reflects them.
That is a perfectly sensible position to have.
So with that, we are going to jump into our interview.
Fantastic interview.
I am excited about this.
We have Andy Roth with the State Freedom Caucus.
It's really going to be exciting.
So we're going to bring him in.
Before we do, we're going to have a quick word from our sponsors.
Serge, if you can play that, and I'll catch you guys after the break.
tim pool
It is Beam Dream.
My friends, head over to shopbeam.com slash Timcast and pick up your nighttime sleep aid to help you sleep better.
Beam Dream's amazing.
It's got Alphini, it's got Reishi, it's got Meltonin, magnesium.
I drink it every single night.
Not a joke.
Even I got Phil drinking it now.
It's great.
It's great.
We got the little packet ones because we're out of the studio, but I drink it every night before bed.
A delicious cup of hot cocoa, cinnamon cocoa.
It's my favorite.
I don't know.
I bounce between that and the brownie batter.
And only 15 calories, no added sugar.
Drink it, make a hot cup of cocoa right for the show every night.
And I sleep beautifully.
And y'all know I got a new baby who's always crying.
And somehow I make it through because I've got a great wife.

All right.
tate brown
All right.
Well, we are back here with the great Andy Roth.
I'm very excited for this.
Andy, can you hear me?
andrew roth
I sure can.
tate brown
Well, before we get into the meat and potatoes here, can you give the people a quick intro of who you are and what you do?
andrew roth
Sure.
My name is Andy Roth, and I am the president of the State Freedom Caucus Network.
Illinois Democrats and Republicans Collaborate 00:15:54
andrew roth
Basically, the way to think about it is everybody knows that the House Freedom Caucus in Washington, D.C. is they are the most conservative members of the U.S. House.
But there are 50 swamps in the 50 state capitals, and there was nothing like that before we showed up.
So what the State Freedom Caucus Network does is that we help state lawmakers form state freedom caucuses.
So the Georgia Freedom Caucus was the first one that we helped launch in 2021.
And then it was South Carolina, Illinois, a blue state, Arizona, South Dakota, on and on and on.
And then just recently, today, West Virginia Freedom Caucus is going to be the 14th one, the 14th state that we're going to launch in our network.
tate brown
Incredible.
Amazing.
I love that.
Well, this is really poignant because, you know, on the right, you know, the conservative commentariat, we always make this point.
People will say this.
They'll say, well, you know, the federal elections are important and everything, but where the decisions that directly impact you are occurring or is at the state level.
And this is something that people say, but oftentimes people will just say that.
They don't actually have any solutions.
They don't actually provide any, you know, nitty-gritty of how you could actually get involved or what you need to actually keep an eye on at the local level.
It just feels good to say.
And then we see at the state level, things getting worse and worse.
So it's like people are saying this, but not many people are actually, you know, getting their hands dirty to actually put the work into improve things at the state level.
So I'm super grateful for the work that you guys are doing.
Can you give people a quick rundown before we get into some of the meat and potatoes on the West Virginia side of some of the sort of things you guys have seen as you start implementing these freedom caucuses around the country and what the state of some of these state houses and state senates are like?
andrew roth
So the most shocking thing that I tell people that they're surprised to hear is that the 50 swamps are more corrupt than in D.C., believe it or not.
And the reason why is because when you turn on your TV or open up your phone, what do you see?
What do you hear?
You hear about Trump, the war in Ukraine, inflation, the Federal Reserve.
You don't hear about what's happening in your state capital.
And that's exactly how these state swamps like it.
They like to operate in the dark.
And there are going to be moments where things flare up, like during COVID, when people became very aware of what their state swamps were doing.
But for the most part, all the attention is on D.C.
So one of the things that we do with our state freedom caucuses is that they are very loud and very vocal about the stuff that is going on in the states.
And it's not just bloated budgets, but red states don't pass good Second Amendment reforms.
They don't protect life.
They overregulate the economy.
It's remarkable how often Democrats and Republicans come together to restrict our liberties.
And it's happening in all of our states.
Now, thankfully, we've got these freedom caucuses that are up and running and they're pushing back and our side is winning.
But we need a freedom caucus in every state.
And right now we're at 14.
tate brown
Man, geez.
Well, maybe you can break down the temperament of like a GOP state rep, because obviously we're quite familiar with some of these reps at the federal level.
A lot of these guys come in, they're renegades, you know, they have these, you know, very staunch policies and there's a lot of excitement and these sorts of things around them.
But again, you don't really hear much about these state reps.
Who are these people?
Where do they come from?
How do they end up in politics?
How is this running up against what you guys are trying to do?
andrew roth
Yeah, I mean, if you think about Congress, when you get elected to Congress in D.C., that's a full-time job.
You make six figures.
You spend all of your time on the job flying back and forth to D.C. and voting on stuff.
But at the state level, these are part-time lawmakers.
They have full-time jobs in addition to going to the Capitol.
And they've got family and all sorts of things to worry about.
The problem is that they've got only two people talking in their ears.
They've got leadership in one ear and lobbyists in the other.
And they are asked to vote on thousands and thousands of bills in a single year and they have zero help.
If you think about it, the governor has staffers, staffers, lawyers, a full press team, consultants.
He or she has everything.
Leadership is the same way.
They've got tons of support.
The corporate lobbyists, they have all the money and all the resources they need.
The bureaucrats, they have all the resources they need.
But the people that we need the most, the ones that are there to defend our freedom, they don't have those kind of resources.
And that's by design.
Like in a lot of our states, they don't have an office.
The desk on the chamber floor is their office.
They have no staff.
And so it's no wonder that these states have been running roughshed over our liberties for decades.
And we're changing that.
We're turning it on its head.
We're giving these state freedom caucuses all kinds of support, whether it's policy support, media support, legal support.
We give them as much resources as possible so that they can fight against the swamp.
tate brown
Wow.
So what are some of the more shocking elements of the state level politics that you guys have uncovered with the Freedom Caucus you guys have been implementing across some of these states?
What are some of the shocking ways that the GOPs and these states have been operating that you guys have?
andrew roth
Oh, boy, I could tell you some stories.
First of all, the corruption, like I've said before, is pretty thick.
In South Carolina is one example.
Like I said, these lawmakers are part-time.
So they have other full-time jobs.
You could be a large business in South Carolina, like Boeing or BMW or a healthcare company, and you can put a lawmaker on your payroll and the lawmaker doesn't have to disclose that.
tate brown
Oh, God.
andrew roth
So these lawmakers can basically be in the pocket of big business and not have to tell their voters that.
Another thing in South Carolina is that the legislature, not the governor, appoints people to the bench, to judges.
So the swamp in South Carolina figured this out.
And so most of the lawmakers in the legislature are trial lawyers.
So imagine how that works.
You're in the legislature, you convince one of your buddies to become a judge.
You then confirm him.
And then he gets on the bench.
And then you argue one of your personal cases in front of your buddy.
Now, thankfully, the South Carolina Freedom Caucus just recently, I think this week, was able to help pass judicial reform where a lot of that gets wiped away.
But the disclosure of businesses having lawmakers on their payroll, that's still a problem.
And I could go on and on and on in other states about this sort of stuff.
That's why I believe state legislatures are swampier than DC.
tate brown
Yeah.
I mean, I consider myself fairly politically tuned in.
I had no idea that you could just have a politician on your payroll like that in your face.
I mean, that's absolutely insane.
I think this kind of explains some of the frustration that a lot of conservatives have had in the United States where we'll have a total supermajority in a red state.
And it just feels like an action that feels like they're always explaining why they can't do certain things.
And then you see like in Virginia, when Spanberger comes in, like a weekend, they completely flood the zone, for lack of a better word, with basically a laundry list of like it's like a leftist wet dream in a lot of ways, like a lot of these policies that they're able to get across the finish line.
And then we look at a state that's ruby red and they're just kind of sitting on their hands.
They might tweak the tax code every once in a while, and that's really about it.
That's all we really get.
andrew roth
Yeah, I mean, the red states are the number one conceit, and we know the answer, which is in a ruby red state, if you're a liberal and you want to run for office, you know that you can't put a D after your name.
So you put an R after your name and you give lip service to being pro-guns and pro-babies, right?
But then you get elected and you vote like a liberal.
unidentified
Yeah.
andrew roth
You know, like I was talking about with West Virginia, it's 91 Republicans to only nine Democrats in the state House.
And then in the state Senate, it's 32 Republicans to only two Democrats.
So you would think that they would be passing all sorts of great stuff as if they were Florida.
But the reason why Florida or the reason why West Virginia isn't mentioned in the same sentence as Florida is because most of those Republicans are Democrats.
And that's what we're trying to expose.
And we did that successfully in Wyoming.
Two and a half years ago, our Wyoming Freedom Caucus only had eight members, but they quickly doubled to 16, and then they quickly captured the majority in the state house.
So the speaker is a Freedom Caucus member.
The pro temp is a Freedom Caucus member.
And a lot of the committee chairs are Freedom Caucus members because they exposed all of the liberal Republicans and got several of them defeated.
So we've cracked the code.
We know how to solve these red states.
We just need to keep doing it more and more.
And that's why I'm so thankful that we were able to get into West Virginia because that state is ripe for reform.
And we're able to finally start tackling it.
tate brown
Unbelievable.
I mean, I hope I'm not being too discreet.
I'm quite close with a state rep, and he described the process of what it took to become a state rep. And he's like, it's actually, there's kind of easy.
A lot of these, you know, these county Republican clubs or party offices are kind of asleep at the wheel in a lot of ways.
Like you can work your way up in a lot of these state GOPs by just being fairly polite to people and cordial and keeping your nose clean to a degree.
It explains why such losers are able to work their way up fairly quickly because it's like, you know, everyone's like you said at the top of the interview, everyone's so hyper-fixated on these national issues.
And yeah, it is important, obviously, to be clued in on these things, but they miss the ways that they could get pretty involved and accumulate quite a bit of power at the local level.
They just completely miss that.
andrew roth
Yeah, and at the state level, it ranges.
There's a wide range.
Like I know some state lawmakers who just pay the $75 filing fee, raise no money and get elected because everybody knows them.
But then in a state like Texas, you have to spend millions of dollars to get elected to the state house.
So there is a big range of differences.
But the key thing here is that politics attracts the worst people.
And those people are doing it for self-interest because, as we all know, a lot of people in Congress originally got their start in the state legislature where they get elected for very little money.
They make a name for themselves.
They start taking pack checks from a lot of different special interest groups.
And then when a seat opens up in Congress, they're like, hey, remember me, I'll do your bidding.
Get me elected to Congress.
And then the next thing you know, this little nobody that was a swamp creature is now in the halls of Congress that has an immense power.
And so we're trying to just flip all that on its head and expose these people at the state level so they can't promote themselves to the national scene.
tate brown
Yeah.
Oh my gosh.
So what are the Democrats doing?
Because the Democrats seem so much more effective.
As soon as they get into power, they just put their foot on the gas at the state level.
What are they doing that we're missing?
I'm not saying we should copy their playbook, but do they just have more people that are like genuinely, I guess, for lack of a better word, like down for the cause?
It really seems like every time the Democrats win a state legislator, they just get their wish list pushed through right away.
What are we missing?
andrew roth
A couple of points.
Number one is I always think about the Thomas Jefferson quote, which is that the natural progress of things is for government to grow and liberty to recede.
So that's the reason why most conservatives are fighting with one arm behind their back or tied behind their back, because even if you call yourself a Republican, it's very natural to want to hand out other people's money and be everybody's favorite person.
And so the Democrats are unified in that belief.
The Republicans are split.
And so what we're trying to do is expose that.
But let me make a couple of points.
We do have freedom caucuses in a couple blue states.
We've got one in Maryland and we've got one in Illinois.
And Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Georgia are purple or even trending blue.
Here's the one fact that I didn't know before I got into this is that when you have a super majority Democrat state like Illinois and Maryland, they have held power for so long that they've gotten very, very lazy.
And so a proper freedom caucus can go in there, read the rules of the chamber, like the state house or the state senator, and say, oh, I can throw a wrench into this whole process and really jam up their strategy.
And we've been able to do that in Illinois and in Maryland.
In Illinois, they have something called the consent calendar, which people don't need to know the details about.
But basically, it's this vehicle where Democrats can ram 20 to 50 to 100 bills, package them all into one bill and have an up or down vote.
And the Illinois Freedom Caucus said, no, no, no, we're not doing that anymore.
And they were able to kill the consent calendar, which means that the Democrats can still pass their stuff, but it has to go much, much, much slower.
And so even though we're not notching victories in Illinois, like cutting taxes and expanding school choice, we're able to take the rules of the House and dramatically slow down the Democrats' agenda.
tate brown
So what have been some of the victories of the Freedom Caucus thus far?
And then I guess I'd be curious, what is the swamp GOP's reaction to a lot of these dubs from the Freedom Caucus?
andrew roth
Yeah, good question.
I'll go back to Wyoming.
Before the Wyoming Freedom Caucus was in charge, they passed bills.
They tried to pass bills to expand school choice, cut property taxes, put a ban on transgender surgeries for minors.
And the Republican speaker at the time killed all of those.
Wow.
When the Wyoming Freedom Caucus took over, they put a ban on transgender surgeries for minors.
They cut property taxes.
They passed universal school choice.
They were able to do all those things because they were very loud and very vocal about what these liberal Republicans were doing.
Capitalizing On Local Pressure 00:10:47
andrew roth
Now, to your second question, how does the swamp react to this stuff?
It's their immediate reaction to even the existence of a Freedom Caucus is to ignore you.
And they want to think of you as just a little nuisance, if that.
But once the Freedom Caucus starts stretching its legs and doing what it's supposed to do, then that makes the Swamp angry.
And so what the Swamp has done in several of our states is kick members off of their committees, strip them of their parking spots.
They've done all sorts of things.
In Missouri, when they took away the Missouri Freedom Caucus' parking spots, our guys just got out lawn chairs, went to where their empty parking spot is, got some coffee and did a podcast to talk about how the swamp was so cruel.
tate brown
Let's go.
andrew roth
And in South Carolina, the South Carolina Freedom Caucus was kicked out of the House GOP caucus.
unidentified
Wow.
andrew roth
Right.
It was an extremely aggressive move.
unidentified
Yeah.
andrew roth
But it was the smartest thing that our side could have ever done because we've made political celebrities out of the Freedom Caucus to the point where they're a household name in South Carolina because they know that the swamp didn't like what they were doing and retaliated.
I'll give you one last example.
In Georgia, Colton Moore is a state senator who's got a very large national profile.
He's running for Congress right now.
The Georgia House wanted to name a building after a former speaker who was thoroughly corrupt.
And Colton went down to the floor of the state senate and said, hey, I don't think this is a good idea naming a building after this trial lawyer that defended, the defended child rapists.
And so Colton was banned from the state house.
Well, when the governor gives his state of the state address, Colton had a constitutional duty to attend that.
They would not let him in.
When he tried to get in, he got shoved and pushed down to the ground and arrested and got sent to the same county, Fulton County jail that Trump got arrested in.
And Colton got his mugshot at the same place that Trump did.
And the only thing that did was upset all the conservative voters in Georgia and it uplifted Colton as this conservative hero.
And it backfired on the swamp in Georgia to the point where they had to just back down and apologize and let Colton back into the state house.
So there is no punishment too severe that the swamp will exact on our freedom caucuses.
But the key here is that we win no matter what because we expose them for what they did.
tate brown
Yeah.
It's the level of pettiness is amazing, the parking spots, like really.
andrew roth
Well, the reason why is because we're threatening their honeypot.
We're threatening their money because their whole job is to hand out checks to special interest groups through legislation.
And when we threaten that, we are existentially threatening their careers and their livelihoods.
tate brown
So it sounds like, I mean, these swamp GOPs in the state, they've banked on the longest time, just the fact that the voting base is fairly ambivalent to what's actually going on.
So what it sounds like you guys are really capitalizing on is that people are increasingly frustrated with the GOP at large and they're realizing like, oh, I can actually enact some change at the local level.
You could apply some pressure at the local level.
Is that really what's going on?
Because, I mean, you know, how many people can name their state rep or state senator?
andrew roth
That's exactly what I was going to bring up is that most people don't know who their state rep or their state senator is.
They may know who their member of Congress is or their U.S. senators, but they don't know at the state level who their reps are and their senators.
And so it's vitally important that people find out who they are because it trickles up, like we said, which is that these state lawmakers try and promote themselves to Congress.
So if we want to stop this problem that we clearly see at the federal level, it's happening at the state level and we can. fix the entire country if we can just fix our states because of that trickle up.
tate brown
Well, before we get into, I want to ask you like how people, everyday people, so to speak, can sort of get involved in this sort of thing.
I want to ask with the West Virginia Freedom Caucus specifically, what are some of the objectives that you guys have identified, you know, in West Virginia?
What are some of the goals that we're going to pursue here going forward as this caucus gets established?
andrew roth
Yeah, I mean, it's a buffet of options.
I mean, like I mentioned before, this is a ruby red state.
Trump won 70 to 30 against Kamala Harris.
So basically everything under the sun is game.
Now, the cool thing about West Virginia is that they have a new governor who's actually pretty conservative.
So he is somebody who I think is going to be able to play ball with the West Virginia Freedom Caucus.
So number one, just cutting the budget, which is the number one priority that every lawmaker has is that they've got to pass a budget.
So passing that and reducing that is obviously number one.
But gun rights are still not fully protected at the state level.
A lot of regulations, educational reform, health care reform, like you name it, West Virginia needs to fix it.
And I think all of that is up for grabs this year.
And the cool thing about 2026 is that all of these state lawmakers have elections later this year.
So they do not want to make any waves.
They don't want to ruffle any feathers.
They don't want to upset any of their buddies.
So previously, before there's a Freedom Caucus, they would pass a big budget.
They would make sure everybody got taken care of and fed.
And then they'd quietly, you know, run for reelection, hit the campaign trail and get re-elected.
That's business as usual is no longer going to occur in West Virginia now that we have a Freedom Caucus.
tate brown
I love to hear that.
It's just so frustrating that they've been able to get away with this for so long, but very thankful.
So I got to ask, what can people do?
I mean, the viewers watching, people that I suppose you would say everyday people, what can they do to support the Freedom Caucus?
How can they get involved?
What can they do at their local level?
Because I mean, again, it's one of those things everyone says, but no one actually gives prescriptions.
andrew roth
Right.
So I would say one thing first and foremost, go to our website at statefreedomcaucus.org.
And on there is our map of where all of our freedom caucuses are.
If you live in a state that has a freedom caucus, follow them on social media, get on their newsletter, do everything you can to support them.
And if you're not in a state that has a freedom caucus, or even if you are in one, find out who your state rep is, find out who your state senator and see if they are in a freedom caucus.
And if they're not, ask them why.
unidentified
Yeah.
andrew roth
Because, and I don't think they're going to like the answer is because they're going to, they're going to say, well, I'm just as conservative as the next person.
But then when you start looking at their voting record, you'll quickly realize that they're not.
And so just be very aware of what's going on in your state capital.
And if there's a freedom caucus in your state, support them.
And then I'm on X at at Andy Roth.
Follow me.
Follow all of our states on X and just get out the good word.
tate brown
I love it.
Well, before I let you go, I got to ask one question for the audience is: what do we need to keep an eye on at the state level, especially in states with these freedom caucuses?
What is something going into 2026 that we should keep an eye on that potentially the swamp GOP could make a play?
Is there anything we need to be on the lookout for?
andrew roth
Every state is different.
Every state has different priorities, but the number one, and we've talked about this, is the budget.
Follow the budget because the lawmakers, the swamp, they care about moving the money.
I mean, it is literally organized crime where they're trying to pay off as many people as possible.
That's what we have to stop.
And right now, now that we're in February, most of the state legislatures are in session and they're talking about the budget right now.
And so getting all of these state budgets smaller, lower, size and scope of government tighter.
That's what we're focused on the most right now.
tate brown
Amazing.
Well, Andy, thank you so much.
I know you mentioned, well, again, where can people follow you and where can people follow the state caucus, Freedom Caucus?
andrew roth
Go to statefreedomcaucus.org and then I'm on X at Andy Roth.
tate brown
Amazing.
Well, Andy, thank you so much for hopping on.
Love to have you in the studio here soon.
Get to go.
We're in West Virginia, so it's of extreme relevance for us.
andrew roth
So happy to do it.
tate brown
Awesome.
Thank you so much.
We'll catch you next time.
andrew roth
Take care.
Bye-bye.
tate brown
All right.
Well, that was the great, great Andy Roth.
That was fascinating.
I mean, like, again, it's one of those things that everyone, because it feels good where people will say, oh, you know, like, you need the real actions at the local level.
You know, this is like something you should keep an eye on.
And then no one gives any prescription.
No one actually tells you what that means.
Like, again, I don't even think anybody that says this can name who their state rep is or their state senator.
It's right there for everyone to see.
I mean, like, school board.
I think school board's another way that Aiden Buzzetti on fairly recently, and he was describing the situation in Los Angeles.
I mean, some of the insane corruption that's occurring in Los Angeles.
And this is happening all across the country in these school boards.
These are positions that, look, if we're serious about taking the country back, if we're serious about, again, making America great again, a lot of this is going to require some stuff that's not so sexy.
You know, it's really sexy, a high-profile Senate race or, you know, a presidential election or even a high-profile House race.
It's not so sexy to like keep an eye on the school board election, right?
Or it's not sexy to keep an eye on the sheriff's race or mayor's race.
But that's where the stuff that's really going to impact you is going to be.
And that's to Andy's point.
I mean, there's these organizations like the State Freedom Caucus that they're putting their money where their mouth is and they're laying it out quite clearly what you can do to get involved, where we can apply pressure, these sorts of things to whip these GOPs into shape because it is really just absurd, some of the stuff that's going on.
Mailbag And Discord Updates 00:01:36
tate brown
So with that, I think we'll start winding down the show here.
Thank you very much for watching, guys.
Thanks to Andy for hopping on.
I think this will be our setting going forward for the show.
I kind of like it in here.
It's kind of a vibe.
So we'll see.
But I think this is where we'll be going forward.
We're going to be making a lot of changes to the show going forward.
An idea I was sort of going back and forth with the team on is potentially on Thursdays, I think would be quite cool is, you know, have a regular Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday interview series where we bring on a guest and have a conversation.
But I think Thursdays, what would be cool is if we had like a mailbag section.
So maybe you guys can send in questions or comments, or if you disagree with something I've said, maybe you can, you know, lodge a disagreement.
We can engage on that.
I think that'd be quite cool.
So maybe we could do a mailbag or potentially even get the Discord involved.
Maybe have a sort of separate Discord call in.
We're still kind of working out how that could potentially work, make that happen.
But I think that'd be really something.
So let me know what you guys think.
Tweet at me, maybe some ideas on what we could do for a mailbag section on Thursdays.
I think that'd be pretty cool.
And obviously being in the new studio here, it gives us some options of really ramping up the production on the show.
So with that, you can follow me on X and Instagram at RealTape Brown.
Give me a follow because I think a lot of you guys don't even realize you're not following me.
I get this complaint all the time.
I thought I was following you, and I wasn't.
It's a big issue.
So make sure you go to my profile, make sure you're following me.
I'll give you guys all sorts of updates there and some takes as time goes on.
We'll be back tonight for Timcasty Rail at 8 p.m.
We're going to be sending you over to Dvory Darkens for the raid.
I think he's up next on the Rumble lineup.
So we're going to send you over there to hang out with Dvory.
