Hello, everyone! | |
I have some big announcements to make in terms of the future of the show.
Firstly, due to irreconcilable interpersonal and professional differences, going forward, Lauren will no longer be associated with the OnBrand podcast in any way.
So, what does that mean for the show?
Well... | |
I started on brand because Russell's existence as a burgeoning alt-right propagandist, as well as the lack of coverage about what he's up to, was an affront to my, probably neurodivergent, sense of justice.
That's not changed, and so I will be continuing the show.
For the foreseeable future, this will be with the aid of guest co-hosts coming in, and format-wise, we can talk a little bit about what they do and then get into whatever nonsense Russell has been up to.
Once things are up and running, I might also be looking into doing two shorter episodes a week rather than one longer one, so as to cover more of Russell's content and in a more digestible format.
With regards to the Patreon feed and off-brand episodes, those will be taking a backseat while I get all my ducks in a row.
Based on patron feedback as I understand it, the main motivation for being a patron is to financially support the main show rather than seeking out additional content, and so I will be putting my focus on ensuring the main on-brand episodes are up to the highest standards they can be.
That said, I will be making an effort at some point to provide extra content for all of you.
It just might be a bit more sporadic for a while.
Another change that will be coming down the line shortly is that I am in a position of having to switch on ads for the show.
It's not a decision that I make lightly, but a girl's got to eat.
And while I was putting in 30 to 40 hours a week for the main show before, with this now being a solo venture, those numbers are only going to increase.
And so my options are to switch on ads or stop doing the show altogether, which I don't want to do.
These will likely come in the form of auto-ads, and so probably won't be things I personally endorse, and if you ever hear advertising coming from my own mouth, that will mean it is something I legitimately am willing to back up from a moral standpoint.
Of course, there will be an ad-free version of the show provided to patrons and put into the Patreon RSS feed, which I will update simultaneously with any additional content, meaning for patrons, it should all end up in the same feed, on-brand and off-brand, with zero ads.
You may notice the artwork for the show has changed.
I've mocked up a sort of placeholder image and logo that we'll do for now, but I will be getting artwork for the show sourced professionally in the near future.
If you happen to be an artist or you know someone who is and think you're up to the task, by all means, get in touch at theonbrandpod at gmail.com.
And finally, while I intend to resume the monthly livestreams hopefully from next month onwards, I'm having to cancel the livestream that was scheduled for this upcoming Sunday.
I'm no stranger to transitioning, but obviously there's a lot going on at the moment, and I want to keep this show to the highest standard possible while also being mindful of my own health and well-being.
I will of course announce the next livestream once it's fully confirmed.
Other than that, my personal hope is that with the changes being made, this show can move forward to better and brighter things and be able to hit a higher standard than ever before.
There are some big things planned.
I'm looking forward to this next chapter, and I must thank you all for sticking with me.
The show will hopefully be back to regularly scheduled content by next week.
Oh, and if you have any suggestions for guests who should come on the show, then drop their name in the comments or send me an email at the on-brand pod.
Otherwise, as ever, take care of yourselves and each other.
Thank you very much. | |
I love you. |
