On Brand - The Future of the On Brand Podcast Aired: 2025-02-12 Duration: 03:49 === Future Changes Announced (03:30) === [00:00:00] Hello, everyone! [00:00:01] I have some big announcements to make in terms of the future of the show. [00:00:06] Firstly, due to irreconcilable interpersonal and professional differences, going forward, Lauren will no longer be associated with the OnBrand podcast in any way. [00:00:18] So, what does that mean for the show? [00:00:21] Well... [00:00:21] I started on brand because Russell's existence as a burgeoning alt-right propagandist, as well as the lack of coverage about what he's up to, was an affront to my, probably neurodivergent, sense of justice. [00:00:34] That's not changed, and so I will be continuing the show. [00:00:38] For the foreseeable future, this will be with the aid of guest co-hosts coming in, and format-wise, we can talk a little bit about what they do and then get into whatever nonsense Russell has been up to. [00:00:50] Once things are up and running, I might also be looking into doing two shorter episodes a week rather than one longer one, so as to cover more of Russell's content and in a more digestible format. [00:01:01] With regards to the Patreon feed and off-brand episodes, those will be taking a backseat while I get all my ducks in a row. [00:01:08] Based on patron feedback as I understand it, the main motivation for being a patron is to financially support the main show rather than seeking out additional content, and so I will be putting my focus on ensuring the main on-brand episodes are up to the highest standards they can be. [00:01:23] That said, I will be making an effort at some point to provide extra content for all of you. [00:01:27] It just might be a bit more sporadic for a while. [00:01:32] Another change that will be coming down the line shortly is that I am in a position of having to switch on ads for the show. [00:01:38] It's not a decision that I make lightly, but a girl's got to eat. [00:01:43] And while I was putting in 30 to 40 hours a week for the main show before, with this now being a solo venture, those numbers are only going to increase. [00:01:51] And so my options are to switch on ads or stop doing the show altogether, which I don't want to do. [00:01:57] These will likely come in the form of auto-ads, and so probably won't be things I personally endorse, and if you ever hear advertising coming from my own mouth, that will mean it is something I legitimately am willing to back up from a moral standpoint. [00:02:11] Of course, there will be an ad-free version of the show provided to patrons and put into the Patreon RSS feed, which I will update simultaneously with any additional content, meaning for patrons, it should all end up in the same feed, on-brand and off-brand, with zero ads. [00:02:27] You may notice the artwork for the show has changed. [00:02:31] I've mocked up a sort of placeholder image and logo that we'll do for now, but I will be getting artwork for the show sourced professionally in the near future. [00:02:39] If you happen to be an artist or you know someone who is and think you're up to the task, by all means, get in touch at theonbrandpod at gmail.com. [00:02:48] And finally, while I intend to resume the monthly livestreams hopefully from next month onwards, I'm having to cancel the livestream that was scheduled for this upcoming Sunday. [00:02:58] I'm no stranger to transitioning, but obviously there's a lot going on at the moment, and I want to keep this show to the highest standard possible while also being mindful of my own health and well-being. [00:03:09] I will of course announce the next livestream once it's fully confirmed. [00:03:14] Other than that, my personal hope is that with the changes being made, this show can move forward to better and brighter things and be able to hit a higher standard than ever before. === Big Plans Ahead (00:33) === [00:03:24] There are some big things planned. [00:03:26] I'm looking forward to this next chapter, and I must thank you all for sticking with me. [00:03:31] The show will hopefully be back to regularly scheduled content by next week. [00:03:35] Oh, and if you have any suggestions for guests who should come on the show, then drop their name in the comments or send me an email at the on-brand pod. [00:03:44] Otherwise, as ever, take care of yourselves and each other. [00:03:48] Thank you very much. [00:03:48] I love you.
