Yeah, you know, I really thought that we were going to be fine.
I thought America was going to be okay when that happened.
I thought that when they released American Idiot, we were going to be fine, and I could just chill.
And you know what?
A lot of people haven't listened to American Idiot in shows.
I've actually never listened to American Idiot.
Oh, I have.
It's not... People love it, so I can't talk shit on it.
Yeah, you know, it's like an important album.
I get it, I get it.
But by that time I think we were probably too, like, a little too punk rock and a little bit older when it came out.
The important Green Day album is Dookie.
Absolutely, that's the first CD I ever bought.
Yeah, that's like the first CD I ever had of my own.
I think my friend gave it to me.
That one and then the 311 self-titled.
Those two were like the first two fucking CDs I ever had.
I think you know this because I've told it two million times, but it's about my favorite antidote.
The first three CDs I bought, I had like a certificate to Warehouse, and I bought Dookie.
I think I was like in third grade or whatever.
I think that's when it came out.
I bought Dookie, Boyz II Men 2, and a Goofy Movie soundtrack.
Fuck yeah.
All at once.
And that still kind of encapsulates who I am today.
Who's on the Goofy Movie soundtrack?
Just like the original song?
It's the score.
Yeah, it's the original song.
So there is like a powerline song.
A couple.
And we just watched it and it fucking goes.
I just watched it, dude.
It's so good.
So good.
I remembered so much of it.
I've seen that movie so many fucking times.
The movie's like burned into my brain.
Penny was like, you know every word.
And I'm like, yeah, I know every word.
We listen to each other's eyes.
Or it's probably looking into each other's eyes.
So good.
Yeah, looking into each other's eyes.
God, Powerline goes so hard.
What if, what if Max had gotten up on stage at school for the talent show or whatever, or for the principal assembly, you know, and he's like setting up a big musical number.
And then he, you know, he told PJ, he was like, yeah, hit it.
PJ pushes play on the thing and the curtains bust up and he goes, and it's just down.
That would have been, that would have been the, like, honestly, the whole movie would have been a rap because like goofy would have had to been like, Damn son you're so chill like we can do whatever you want and like Rockstar would have been like hey it's cool like do whatever bro like you're the best because also we would all be real high at this point.
