Moving on, I did want to talk a little more about Roe v. Wade, specifically some interesting right-wing responses to it.
So, a tweet that I found while I was doing research for other stuff was, the Log Cabin Republicans Who, if you're not familiar, they are the gay branch of the Republicans or the LGBTQ branch of the Republicans.
God bless them.
And they tweeted out here an article from Brad Palumbo.
They said, quote, Brad Palumbo says rather, quote, we can and should have a robust debate over abortion rights.
But let's do it without needlessly scaring people that other core rights are under attack when they simply are not.
And the title of this article, by the way, is No, Gay Marriage Isn't Going to be Overturned After Roe v. Wade.
Calm down.
Calm down.
Calm your tits, Felicia.
Yeah, chill.
The Log Cabin Republicans and Brad Palumbo, they want you to know That just because Roe v. Wade was overturned based on what Thomas has called a misreading of the privacy, the right to privacy, they say, don't worry, nobody is coming for gay marriage.
Let me just flip the page here.
Oh, Texas GOP calls being gay abnormal, bans gay conservative group, the Log Cabin Republicans, from their convention.
The Lock Cabin Republicans were denied a table at the State Party Convention.
What the frick?
Holy shit!
What?
Hold on, that's not... If we can't come to the convention, how are we supposed to talk to you about these things?
So, Brad Palumbo wrote on Facebook, Brad Palumbo, the author of the article, no, your gay rights aren't going anywhere.
The best, the best faces I've ever seen.
Brad Palumbo wrote, the Texas GOP is having a wild one.
It just booted the Log Cabin Republicans and LGBT GOP group from its next convention and adopted an insanely anti-gay platform.
And I would say that that's probably a normal one for Texas.
Yeah, that's just a regular platform.
It's not that wild of one.
Yeah, it's totally within reason of what they've actually been telling you for a long time.
It turns out Brad Palumbo, this guy, is a member of Based Politics, which is like a podcast or YouTube page or something.
I ended up watching a little bit of this video.
Oh yeah, but that's how I know Hannah Cox.
Based Politics.
Based Price Gouging.
Price Gouging is cool, actually.
Brad Palumbo looks like if the singer for Theory of a Dead Man were gay.
Yes, Brad Palumbo is like that, but Brad Palumbo also looks like the bad guy from, is it Dizzy Town?
Yeah, yeah.
Sleepy Town?
Sleepy Town, yeah.
He looks like that too.
They also just have these, their profile pics are these awful, shitty faces, like sassy faces.
So just to lay who this whole thing is, we're Republicans, but we're cool, young, hip, gay millennials too.
I don't think she's, like, she's not gay.
No, but she does look like she could be in Haim, which makes you gay-adjacent.
Yeah, that's true.
She looks better than everybody in Haim.
Okay, call me.
Call me when P.T.
Anderson puts her in a movie, alright?
Yeah, for sure I will.
Okay, but they made a video about the Texas GOP.
What the frick were they thinking?
Alright, let's watch.
We'll see.
Let's listen.
Yeah, so the whole drama going down in Texas right now, this is the kind of thing where like people hit me up on Saturday in my comments like, "Why aren't you speaking out on this, Brad?" And I'm like, "Sir, it's Saturday.
I'm on a boat on a lake in Michigan." Sir, I really don't want to have to grapple with the choices I've made in my life right now.
Also, then why are you checking your phone, dawg?
I'll get to it, right?
And so I did write up an article, uh, yesterday morning about this.
But down in Texas right now, they just had this big drama involving the Log Cabin Republicans.
And for folks that don't know, the Log Cabin Republicans have been around for decades, but it's basically like a subset of the party, a little, like, GOP group that's for LGBT, gay, but also lesbian and trans and et cetera, uh, Republicans.
People who are members of those communities.
Like, I'm sorry, but just imagine trying to do trans advocacy within the Republican Party right now.
Even within the law cabins!
What are you saying?
What is your argument?
Just like, please don't shoot them?
Yeah, that's like your ask right now?
Don't shoot us?
Yeah, so wild.
You're not going to get to use the restroom of your gender.
There's no fucking way.
Anyway, this group in Texas, they have a chapter, they have chapters throughout the country.
Yeah, you could maybe transition when you retire.
It's funny that you even said it.
I think it was hard for him to say.
Yeah.
Anyway, this group in Texas, they have a chapter.
They have chapters throughout the country.
Well, the Texas Republican Party, which is one of the most, I think, out there, fringe, and kind of outdated Republican chapters we've got in the country, they just...
Yeah, totally.
That's exactly what I think of when I think of the Texas GOP.
That's the most populous Republican state, right?
Easily.
It's one of the biggest states in the country.
It's very populous.
Just these weird fringe minority of our party over there in Texas.
When people say like, you know, where California goes, like the Democrats go, like that's Texas.
Yeah.
For sure.
And they just have their little Florida experiment where they get a little more buck wild and they see how that goes.
Did Ben Shapiro wore a cowboy hat and stood next to a pickup truck because of how powerful the Texas GOP are?
Exactly.
Exactly.
He looks so small next to that truck.
the law cabinet Republicans from having a booth at their upcoming convention.
Yeah.
So that's drama point number one.
Drama point number one.
It's so dumb.
It's like you have this group that wants to support you, wants to work with you.
They don't care.
To stop tax hikes, to protect gun rights, protect free speech, all the things you say you care about.
It's great.
I mean, he says, you know, you need our help to stop socialism.
And I know this is like a trite thing to say, but what's the classic poem about coming for the socialists that the Nazis did before they did genocide to everybody else?
Not everybody else, obviously, but a lot of people.
A lot of people.
A lot of gay and trans people.
Yep.
It was all used under that umbrella.
They're not, like, you're not safe with these people at all.
No, not at all.
You can't get over the fact that they're gay and you don't like gay people or something.
Or something.
The point of a political party is to win elections, and that requires different groups coming together.
How is Texas ever going to win another election without the log cabin Republicans?
