QR Codes Come Alive
00:06:32
|
|
| Welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show. | |
| Today, Pastor Mark Biltz talks about America at a crossroads and rediscovering the word of God. | |
| Our co-host today is Reverend Mondo de la Vega. | |
| And now, here is your host, Pastor Ricky Baker. | |
| Hello, friends. | |
| You're watching the PTL Television Network. | |
| It's an honor you have tuned in with us today, friends. | |
| Today we have with us Pastor Mark Biltz from El Shaddai Ministry. | |
| Pastor, thanks for being here with us. | |
| Good to see you, sir. | |
| You made it all the way here in person. | |
| I want to say thank you for traveling out to the middle of nowhere, brother. | |
| I'll tell you that. | |
| And you have brought one of the most incredible things that I have seen in a long term. | |
| Part one of the Gospels. | |
| This is a series that you're doing, but this isn't just the New Testament. | |
| This is a multi-language. | |
| I'm talking illustrated book, Mondo, of the Gospels. | |
| This is incredible. | |
| Falling in love with scripture is this, because when you understand the essence, ooh, I use that word from your book. | |
| The essence of the word, it changes the way scripture reads, sir. | |
| And the animation in this is incredible. | |
| And what interactive. | |
| And we're noticing QR codes too, all throughout this whole thing. | |
| So if somebody's watching right now, what are their QR codes for in here? | |
| Well, what's fascinating, the QR codes make the whole Bible come alive. | |
| If you were, so in the back of the book, you see the big QR code right here. | |
| If you right now were to put your phone in the camera mode and put it over that QR code, you would see a video right out of the book. | |
| You can see videos. | |
| You can have audios. | |
| Even the art comes alive in this work of the Gospels. | |
| This is more than just a book. | |
| I want to say this. | |
| It's an experience with the word like I've never seen before. | |
| Now, I had seen it before because you brought the first edition with Genesis. | |
| And now we're going into the Gospels, right? | |
| Mark, Luke, John, Matthew. | |
| Exactly. | |
| I got to make sure I get them straight. | |
| Yeah. | |
| But I want to tell you, I almost forgot. | |
| Wait a minute. | |
| How many books are there? | |
| But you have to understand that discovering the word is what changes. | |
| And today's generation, Pastor Mark, how do you see the Bible? | |
| How do you see this book come to life for our generation that is filled with animation or attention span? | |
| It's almost like a goldfish, right? | |
| Maybe a little bit better than a goldfish, but it's so fast. | |
| Maybe. | |
| Maybe, right? | |
| But what is it about this book that is going to really engage us back into the word? | |
| Well, I find this is not only going to be fantastic for people who are older, but the greatest thing about it that they're going to find if they want to get their kids involved in the Bible, if they want their children to look at the Bible and have it come alive, we know they're really into their cell phones. | |
| And now they can take their cell phone and put it over QR codes and they can read the word and it comes alive. | |
| This is the first Bible in history that has QR codes in it where not only there's video, there's audio, but the artwork comes alive as well. | |
| And I think that's what's exciting for most believers because what we did, we took like the King James as the basis, but then we corrected all of the thou west sayest, wentest, and we have. | |
| You don't talk like that? | |
| No. | |
| And then on top of that, what no Bible in history has ever done, we have the whole New Testament in Hebrew, but also the Hebrew transliteration in English. | |
| So anyone that wants to read Hebrew and learn Hebrew can do that. | |
| Even at the front of the book, we have basic principles on how to read Hebrew. | |
| And there's a lot of people that want to look at the Bible in the original text. | |
| That's incredible. | |
| So each one of these has three lines of text. | |
| You're going to have it in the Hebrew, the Hebrew transliteration, and as well as in English. | |
| Exactly. | |
| You even have the phonetic markings so you know what syllable to pronounce. | |
| Even Mona, Mona, you can go read some. | |
| I don't know if I want to try to let him do it. | |
| Mano, read the whole verse for him. | |
| No, Skin, don't do that. | |
| Don't do that. | |
| Don't do that. | |
| Listen, this is amazing because when you understand really the scripture. | |
| Now, let's put an emphasis on, let's say, Matthew, right? | |
| Because I love the breakdown of this. | |
| When you really understand the meaning, and I'm pulling up one of your notes here. | |
| Let's talk about Matthew, right? | |
| Matthew, let's see, Matthew chapter 4, verse 21, not murder, right? | |
| Let's talk about that. | |
| So how do you break it down so we can understand it in this book? | |
| Well, what's amazing is almost every Bible has it mistranslated that you shall not kill. | |
| But that's completely wrong. | |
| Obviously, God says to kill the Amalekites, kill this, kill that. | |
| This really should be thou shalt not murder. | |
| And so what we've done in the New Testament, where it was appropriate, we've got rid of kill and put in murder. | |
| And that's so significant because when Yeshua, Jesus, Yeshua tells the scribes, the Pharisees that they want to kill him, no, they want to murder him. | |
| And so all of a sudden, that really brings to life the deep meaning of what they're really trying to say. | |
| You know, you often say that technology can mirror prophecy. | |
| I don't want to talk about that because obviously you're implementing a level of technology into the book that is healthy, that is good. | |
| Right now, we're seeing artificial intelligence really running rampant in every direction. | |
| We're able to use it right now for our benefit. | |
| Do you think that there'll ever be a day maybe that we won't? | |
| And do you think that artificial intelligence can play a role in helping the believer learn more about the gospel? | |
| I believe that everything is two-sided. | |
| The internet is two-sided. | |
| It depends on what your motivation is with it. | |
| But the thing that is my biggest concern, why I like something that's printed, we are going, I think, I don't know how many, like 80 million books have been digitized. | |
| What's going to happen when every book is digitized and then the internet breaks down and there are no Bibles? | |
|
Changing Theological Texts
00:15:22
|
|
| Or it can be changed. | |
| Or it can be changed and altered. | |
| That's why we like having things printed so you will always have it. | |
| But at the same time, with the technology, you can make the book come to life. | |
| When you look at what happened a few weeks ago by the election of this mayor that is filled with socialism and communism, it all started from the education in our school. | |
| If they start changing the educational parts of the Bible, what does that look like for America, for example? | |
| What makes you think that they're not going to change the values? | |
| They're not going to change the morals. | |
| So what message should we get out of the situation that just took place in New York City? | |
| Well, one of the greatest messages that many people don't understand, Pearson Publishing out of the UK is the number one publisher for children's and college textbooks. | |
| They're owned by Qatar. | |
| They are literally owned by Muslims. | |
| This is why we've been seeing all of these riots on college campuses. | |
| They've given billions of dollars to Cornell and to other colleges and universities just to teach Islamic. | |
| And it's always about the money. | |
| It's always about the money. | |
| And that's why a lot of these college universities are falling into the trap of Qatar and what they're doing and teaching what they are. | |
| And how many of you believe the media is biased today? | |
| Absolutely. | |
| Absolutely. | |
| Well, what we have to realize, King James was written in 1611 right after the Crusades, the Second Crusades in the 1500s. | |
| And I found our translators were biased. | |
| And so what people don't realize, what we corrected in this volume of the Gospels is some of the misunderstandings and mistranslations as well. | |
| So the nicest thing about this, not only have we made it come alive, we corrected a lot of misunderstandings due to not understanding the culture or mistranslating, believe it or not. | |
| I'll give you one perfect example. | |
| How many of you are familiar when Peter denied the Messiah and the rooster crowed three times? | |
| Yes. | |
| It never happened. | |
| What? | |
| What? | |
| That's what they say. | |
| It did happen. | |
| But we're Western mind is thinking wrong because we don't know the culture. | |
| Just like the word general or captain, there was the temple crier who cried out every morning to start the morning service three times and he was called the rooster. | |
| So it was a person. | |
| It was a priest who was a temple crier. | |
| They never allowed chickens and roosters in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago because chickens weren't acceptable as a sacrifice. | |
| And who wants to smell a stinking chicken slaughterhouse next to a temple that's outside? | |
| Wow. | |
| And so, yes, it happened. | |
| But it wasn't a rooster. | |
| It was a man who had the title of the rooster. | |
| The Hebrew word is gever. | |
| And so when you know Jewish history and culture, you realize, wow, now that doesn't affect your theology, but it's authenticity. | |
| And people want what's authentic. | |
| It does affect me, though, because one time during a child's play, I played that rooster. | |
| They made me dress up. | |
| When I was a young man, I had to play that rooster. | |
| They made me dress up like a chicken for no reason. | |
| I don't know if you remember that. | |
| When I went to the Christian school, that was the only role I could swear. | |
| That's the only role I could get. | |
| So I'm going to go back and have a talk with that person. | |
| So you just clear some things up for me. | |
| But you know what? | |
| It's these little idiosyncrasies that we would have never realized were happening. | |
| So what inspired you to say, you know what, I'm going to go through and correct even small things that, you know, maybe people say, well, that's not a salvation issue, but it's important. | |
| Why would you go and really spend years of your life dedicated to this? | |
| Well, do you believe in fake news? | |
| I've seen it. | |
| I try not to believe it, but it's there. | |
| For me, because I have studied the scriptures for so long and I saw, believe it or not, intentional mistranslations. | |
| Oh, intentional. | |
| And I'm talking intentional now. | |
| Now, let me give you some examples here. | |
| What is the Greek word for church? | |
| Ecclesia. | |
| But did you know what never meant church? | |
| Ecclesia never meant church? | |
| No. | |
| Ecclesia, how many of you heard of the Septuagint, which was written 200 years before Jesus was born? | |
| The word ecclesia is all through there. | |
| And there was no church 200 years before Jesus was born. | |
| It meant assembly. | |
| A baseball game is an ecclesia. | |
| Okay. | |
| A town hall is an ecclesia. | |
| It's a secular assembly. | |
| But what did the church do? | |
| They wanted to create something separate from the synagogue. | |
| So they decided to call that church. | |
| But in Acts chapter 19, when they're all worshiping the great goddess Diana for two hours, the last verse of that chapter, it says, and then they dismiss the, and they put assembly. | |
| But the word zecclesia, oops, we can't put church now because they'll think the church was worshiping Diana. | |
| So now we're going to translate it authentically as assembly. | |
| Wow. | |
| And then in the book of James, and his name is really Jacob. | |
| I mean, people don't even know his name was Jacob. | |
| I mean, that's like calling someone from Russia Paco. | |
| It doesn't happen. | |
| Okay. | |
| Or someone in Mexico, Igor. | |
| His name was Yaakov. | |
| You can see that plainly in the Greek. | |
| Sunagage is the Greek word for synagogue, which means a religious assembly. | |
| Yes. | |
| But in James, it says, if one comes into your assembly with a gold ring, rich apparel, you might be familiar with that verse, the word is sunagage. | |
| Oh, my goodness, we don't dare put synagogue. | |
| They'll think they were meeting in a synagogue. | |
| So we're going to put in the assembly. | |
| But in Revelation, where it talks about the synagogue of Satan, it's sunagage. | |
| How come they don't put assembly of Satan there? | |
| So they will pick and choose how they want to translate it depending on the bias. | |
| Wow. | |
| Why is this not addressed more? | |
| Because I feel like this is something that the church should know about. | |
| I totally agree. | |
| And this is what is probably what inspired me to do this. | |
| That it wasn't being addressed. | |
| That it was not being addressed. | |
| And going through there, we found so many accidental mistakes because they don't know what they don't know. | |
| As well as better translations for clarity, as well as intentional mistranslation. | |
| There's a really horrible, horrible one that anyone can look at their own Bible right now and they can see the obvious error. | |
| There's several of them. | |
| But one of them, how many of you are familiar with the new covenant? | |
| In Jeremiah 31, 31. | |
| Everyone familiar with Jeremiah 31, 31. | |
| If you go to Jeremiah 31, 31 and you read it, this is where God says it's not going to be according to the covenant I made with them when I took them by the hand and brought them out of Egypt, even though they broke my covenant. | |
| That's right. | |
| And then it says, although I was a husband to them. | |
| Okay, everyone look at Jeremy. | |
| Open your Bibles, go to Jeremiah 31, 31. | |
| And now read that out loud. | |
| It says, look, the days are coming. | |
| This is the Lord's declaration when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. | |
| This one will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors on the day I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt. | |
| My covenant that they broke, even though I am their master, the Lord's declaration. | |
| Okay, stop right there. | |
| It could be master or it could be husband. | |
| Now go to Hebrews 8. | |
| Hebrews 8 is quoting this verse, and they changed it. | |
| Go to Hebrews 8 and look at verse 9. | |
| Everyone will be able to see it on their own, in their own Bibles. | |
| Okay, it says, not like the covenant that I made with their ancestors on the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt. | |
| I showed no concern for them, says the Lord. | |
| I showed no concern for them. | |
| Wait a minute. | |
| That's not in Jeremiah. | |
| It says, I was their husband. | |
| How come it goes from I was their husband to I disregarded them? | |
| And in the Greek and Hebrew, it literally means I puked them out. | |
| Here, this is talking about the new covenant. | |
| And they're supposed to be cutting and pasting a verse. | |
| They're not supposed to change God's word. | |
| And Jeremiah 31, 31 says, even though I was their husband or their master. | |
| Wow. | |
| But in Hebrews 8, 9, they changed it even though I wanted nothing to do with them. | |
| Wow. | |
| But wait, there's more. | |
| You know, but this is what is, most people don't go as deep as I went into examining the scriptures. | |
| If you go, okay, let me ask you this. | |
| Where is Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob buried? | |
| What city? | |
| Teachers, all great rabbi. | |
| Yeah, he feels like a rabbi. | |
| Have either of you ever been to Israel? | |
| Yes. | |
| Okay. | |
| They've ever been to Hebron? | |
| No. | |
| Well, most people don't go to Hebron. | |
| I'd like to go there. | |
| I don't think I've ever. | |
| Hebron is where Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob are buried. | |
| Okay. | |
| Remember when Stephen is about to get stoned in Acts 7? | |
| Yep. | |
| If you read Acts 7 toward the end, he says they're buried in Shechem. | |
| What? | |
| They're not buried in Shechem. | |
| They're buried in Hebron. | |
| But that mistake is okay because he's about to get stoned. | |
| The Bible accurately records his error. | |
| Okay. | |
| Oh. | |
| You see? | |
| Oh, so you're saying, okay. | |
| So there are errors in the Bible, but you have to understand they were accurately quoting his error. | |
| So that's not an error. | |
| That's not an error. | |
| That makes sense. | |
| So we have the book of Genesis. | |
| We have Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. | |
| Do you have plans to do the entire Bible like this? | |
| Well, we are, believe it or not, we're doing the New Testament in three volumes, the Gospels by themselves, another volume of all of Paul's epistles, and another volume of all the other books in the New Testament. | |
| And that one will be in our hands in about six weeks. | |
| And then the last one of Paul's epistles will be in our hands in about 12 weeks. | |
| Oh, wow. | |
| And so Genesis, we just got done. | |
| And there's mind-blowing things that most people have no clue in the book of Genesis that we reveal because we're looking at it from the Hebrew. | |
| I'll share one thing with you in a minute. | |
| But Exodus and Leviticus we're working on to get done as one volume. | |
| Numbers and Deru Deuteronomy is one volume. | |
| But as far as the rest of the Old Testament, that is a big bite. | |
| But we should have the entire Torah and all the New Testament done within 12 weeks. | |
| Wow. | |
| Right. | |
| That's incredible. | |
| And I realize why you couldn't do it as one single book. | |
| You can show the size of just that alone. | |
| 600 pages for the Gospels. | |
| For the Gospels alone. | |
| The nice thing, it's large print. | |
| It's large print. | |
| It feels like an encyclopedia. | |
| Yeah, exactly. | |
| Now, I want to ask you a question before we show this video. | |
| When we get this book, and I open it up to page seven, which is John chapter one, what is the first thing I need to do? | |
| What is the beginning of it? | |
| How do I understand it? | |
| Because I look at it right now and I'm clueless to how to even go about this. | |
| So can you walk me through the process? | |
| One of the things I want to bring out is there is no right order to put the gospels in. | |
| Mark was written before Matthew, but they went ahead and had Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. | |
| In our Gospels, I put John first because most people like people to start with the book of John. | |
| But the main reason is John 1, 1 is in the beginning was the word. | |
| And it says Genesis begins within the beginning. | |
| We wanted the Gospels to begin with in the beginning. | |
| But what's amazing is there's a QR code. | |
| And on the cover, let me show this. | |
| On the cover, here's the Gospel of John. | |
| And there is a big QR code. | |
| And if you put your camera on your phone and put it up to this, a little yellow bar will come up and you can poke it and you'll see a 10-minute video of me talking about the book. | |
| It's alive. | |
| And so when you do that and you come, I have a commentary that is written down. | |
| But here's the first chapter of John. | |
| There's a small QR code where it's an audio, not a video. | |
| And you can hear me talk about the change. | |
| For example, in John 1, 1, it says, in the beginning was the essence, not the word, the essence. | |
| When you look at a simple word, I mean, a word is a word, but it was more than the word. | |
| It's a living word. | |
| It's a spoken word. | |
| And that essence of God became man. | |
| One of the things I'd like to point out, how many of you here have a soul? | |
| Yeah. | |
| Wrong. | |
| Come on, man. | |
| I'm going to go to the middle. | |
| Listen. | |
| Here we go. | |
| Let me explain. | |
| You can't say, oh, my soulmate. | |
| Well, no. | |
| None of you have a soul. | |
| You are a soul who has a body. | |
| And you're about to get an upgrade. | |
| I need that. | |
| Are you following me? | |
| You don't have a soul. | |
| That's why we have to re-engineer our thinking. | |
| You are a soul. | |
| What you have is a body. | |
| Oh, wow. | |
| Now, what I go into in the book of Genesis, are we body, soul, and spirit? | |
| I'm afraid to answer. | |
| I guess I'm soul, body, and spirit. | |
| Soul, spirit, and body. | |
| Exactly. | |
| So how was mankind created? | |
| I don't know. | |
| Well, at the beginning with a word, I used to think I knew something. | |
| I don't know anything. | |
| Well, let me explain. | |
| Our body was formed from the dirt. | |
| From the dirt, yep. | |
| Our spirit came when he breathed into us into Adam. | |
| That's right. | |
| But when was the soul created? | |
| We just got done saying we have three. | |
| When you understand Genesis 1 in Hebrew, your soul was created out of nothing, out of thin air. | |
| You were literally, your soul, who you are, was created out of nothing. | |
| And then God formed the body. | |
| He put the soul into the body. | |
| Then he breathed the spirit and you became a living soul. | |
| And so it was a process. | |
| You were created out of nothing, who you are. | |
| And you have a temporary body when you're going to get an upgrade. | |
|
The Truth Will Set You Free
00:06:34
|
|
| Okay. | |
| And then his spirit breathed into you. | |
| We're body, soul, and spirit. | |
| But most people don't know you were actually created out of nothing who you are. | |
| That's only seen in the Hebrew. | |
| You're not taught this on a normal Sunday. | |
| That's what we're saying. | |
| You have a video you want to play, right? | |
| It's going to show a little bit of what's happening in the world. | |
| Listen, let's talk about this video. | |
| Let's watch it, and we're going to come back and talk about it. | |
| But we want you to order this book today, 1-888-988-1588. | |
| And if you are like me, where you thought you knew something and found out you don't know nothing, you're going to need this book. | |
| So watch this video. | |
| It is the sample of the intro of from the book of Matthew, clip number one. | |
| Watch this. | |
| When we go to Matthew chapter 5, verse 17 and 18, Yeshua says, this is during the Beatitudes. | |
| Matthew 5, everyone knows this as being the Beatitudes. | |
| And he says, don't think I've come to destroy the law, the Torah, or the prophets. | |
| I have not come to destroy, but to fulfill. | |
| And so many believers don't understand the word fulfill. | |
| We have a Greek mindset, and it's like checklist, fulfill that. | |
| We don't have to. | |
| No, that word basically means he has come to demonstrate what he was talking about. | |
| Just like it says love is a fulfilling of the law. | |
| We can't say, well, I don't have to love Jesus' love for me and he fulfilled it. | |
| No, that word fulfill means to put it on exhibition. | |
| And he says, I'm telling you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or tittle will anywise pass from the Torah. | |
| Well, guess what? | |
| What is that jot? | |
| What is that tittle? | |
| That jot is the smallest Hebrew letter called the Yod or the Yud. | |
| And on top of it was a little tiny marking called the Toggin. | |
| And what Yeshua is saying, not the smallest mark on the smallest letter will pass away from the Torah. | |
| Wow. | |
| Wow. | |
| That's powerful. | |
| Listen, you got to get more information about this. | |
| Call us right now, 1-888-988-1588. | |
| Or better yet, you can go to the website, jimbakershow.com. | |
| I believe we have an affiliate program with Pastor Mark Builds. | |
| You're not going to want to just get one book. | |
| This is something that it is so special that it will become a gift this Christmas for someone's birthday. | |
| Listen, we got to know the word. | |
| And I was joking around, but listen, something happens when the Bible says, and the truth shall set you free. | |
| Right. | |
| That is the truth. | |
| And when you understand that the gospel comes to life, it will change every truth you think you knew about the word and it will be replaced with his truth. | |
| That is special, Pastor Mark. | |
| One last comment: What message do you want people to get out of this book? | |
| Well, one thing I want people to know with all of the bias that's taught in the colleges and in the high schools, this will help their children, their grandchildren fight a lot of that bias that they're finding in the schools. | |
| But the biggest thing is its authenticity. | |
| This helps you understand, and I make it so simple by having a video in the book, audios in the book, going over. | |
| And also, what wasn't mentioned, every change that we made is in green. | |
| So there's no surprises. | |
| You know what was changed. | |
| And I mean, you can see a lot of the obvious green ones where it went from lookust to look. | |
| But when you see other things in there, we make sure anyone and we ask everyone to question us. | |
| It's very transparent. | |
| I love that because you are open to questions. | |
| I love questions. | |
| I absolutely love questions. | |
| That's right. | |
| You're not saying, hey, I wrote this. | |
| Don't email us in. | |
| Don't call us. | |
| Don't ask any questions about it. | |
| You're saying, hey, we're open to the dialogue. | |
| As a matter of fact, one of the things that we're doing, we are putting this online, and people can end up getting the online version that can go on their computer. | |
| And you can literally, it's software where you can go up and look up words in English or in Hebrew, and it'll take you directly to it. | |
| It's unbelievable. | |
| It's incredible. | |
| I think it's a great resource for studying. | |
| I think it's a great resource to make sure you understand what the original text was meaning. | |
| Now, this is in partnership. | |
| This isn't just you writing this by yourself. | |
| You have a partner with you as well, right? | |
| Yeah, Danny Ben-Gigi, Dr. Danny Ben-Gigi, is a Sabra. | |
| He's a native Israeli Jew who has come to the Lord. | |
| He knows the Lord. | |
| And he is the top Hebrew linguist, I believe, in the world. | |
| Just like we have English teachers teach us English, he was the Hebrew teacher to the Hebrews. | |
| He taught at Arizona University Hebrew. | |
| And he and I are working together. | |
| He lives like next door to me. | |
| That's awesome. | |
| And so we have an exciting time. | |
| Like when we did Genesis, he's only read Genesis in Hebrew. | |
| He's never read Genesis in English. | |
| So when I give him the English Genesis, he says, that's not what it says. | |
| Hey, that's not what it says. | |
| And it's amazing. | |
| And maybe in the next segment, I will share you one of the most hilarious errors in every English Bible. | |
| And I don't know why the scholars don't correct them. | |
| Let's do it. | |
| Let's do it. | |
| Hey, we're going to do that. | |
