When Warfare Means We're On Track 00:15:15
Today on the Jim Baker Family Show, why do we encounter spiritual warfare?
Our guests point out when there is warfare, that means we are on track with what God has for us to do.
Today's special guests are Pastor Juan Martinez, an author and expert on spiritual deliverance, and Sergio Nazi-Chavez, pastor of the Hope Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Our co-host today is Reverend Mondo De La Vega.
And now, here's your host, Pastor Ricky Baker.
Hello, friends.
You're watching the PTL Television Network.
This is day two, episode four of our deliverance conference on the Jim Baker show.
We're hosting it down in our tabernacle building at church 2414.
I want you to go check that website out.
We're going to put it up on the screen so you can see.
If you're in the Branson area and you don't have a home church, by all means, come and join us.
I said this last night.
I always say it as a joke.
I said, if you do have a home church, stay there.
I don't want your pastor mad at me.
I'm just saying, you know, I want you guys to be go so into where you're being fed.
But friends, we're having an incredible time here.
And today we have an incredible last day pact.
And we have Pastor Juan Martinez here with us and Pastor Sergio Nazir Chavez with us as well.
And we were talking just yesterday.
And this is what we believe is just scratching the surface of what the Lord is about to do, not just at this church, but in this region, this state, and even in our country.
Do you believe that, Pastor?
I absolutely sense it.
I believe it and I know it.
I believe it for this city.
I believe it for this community.
I believe it for this ministry that this weekend is marking a before and an after.
It's like trampolining in the spirit.
It's catapulting in the spirit.
And this is the beginning of something supernatural that will glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
And I don't know if you all can sense it, but I sense it so powerfully here.
And just the way everything came about, it was divinely orchestrated.
The mighty hand of God has been moving throughout this entire time.
Absolutely.
And again, I have to say this.
I want to give you guys a round of applause because let me tell you something.
Not just, you know, when you put things like this together, that means you guys were praying.
More than likely fasting.
30 days of fasting.
Yeah.
Yes.
And then being led by the spirit, all of these things too.
It wasn't just leadership.
Our church-day fasting.
That's incredible.
And what you guys do there, but also through this program, right?
The content you guys put out, the not backing down from the true gospel, the American gospel, not any other kind of gospel, but the true gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I got to give you honor where honor is due because without shows like this, without all the other shows that you do, without bringing this conference to 2414, I'm telling you what, this region wouldn't be experiencing some of the things that probably a bunch of people have prayed throughout the years.
So I don't think this is a suddenly.
And I want to say something.
Any area that is under spiritual warfare is because there's been seeds of prayer and intercession over that region.
Yes.
And I want you to know something.
You got to let people know why they're under attack.
People that don't even understand your gospel, people that don't understand your Christian vocabulary and all that.
Because I want to tell you something.
I was hosting a Bible study inside of a tattoo shop.
And there's people in that that come to that Bible study that have no knowledge of Christ.
They don't understand the things of the Bible.
They don't understand the lingo.
But I had to let them know that they're inside of a prophetic region.
Come on.
Come on.
When people understand that what they're fighting against is because there's a prophetic anointing in the region, people begin to see things differently.
But this is where we come in.
That's right.
Now, before this conference, we got to be honest, hell broke loose.
The warfare.
The warfare.
The minute we started the fast, I'm talking 30 days before the conference began.
The minute we started this fast, incredible, I mean, warfare like I've never seen it before started breaking out.
And I thought, my, my, my, of course, got to get it to the conference.
I want to say that the attacks are always a sign that you're on track.
Wow.
I'll say it again for the ones that missed it.
The attacks are a sign that you're on track.
And the opposition will always place you in position.
For God causes all things to work together for good.
And I believe that you all have endured the warfare because of what is getting ready to be released, which is partnering with heaven.
I wrote a book called Spiritual Portals, How to Open Heaven's Gates and Shut Out Demonic Forces.
And I deal greatly how we are called to partner with heaven.
And this is what you all are establishing.
You're reestablishing the altars of God in this region.
And I believe because you are partnering with heaven, we're going to see a move of salvation, healing, deliverance.
Not like before, more than ever before.
We're believing God for it.
And I'm going to put a bow on it.
And the world's going to say, that's crazy.
But you know what you guys are going to say?
No, that's God.
No, that's God.
Amen.
I love that.
Pastor, you wrote this book, Spiritual Portals.
I want to show it up.
Put it off on the screen for people to be able to see this.
You guys can go and get this book.
This is an incredible book.
It says right here, how to open heaven's gates and shut out demonic forces.
Pastor, for someone who doesn't know, what is a spiritual portal?
Is this something that all believers have access to or people accidentally open?
What's a spiritual portal?
Yeah, so there's terminology in there, concepts, right?
And people have asked me, why did you entitle it portals?
I don't find portals in the scripture.
I say, you don't find holy trinity in the scripture.
You don't find Bible in the Bible.
You don't find rapture in the Bible, but you see the concepts there.
And portals is simply a term which means a doorway or a gate or an opening.
So we see that all over the scripture from Genesis to Revelation, where men and women, either they partner with the Lord, they partner with Jehovah to establish altars that partnered with heaven and opened up portals of blessing within their individual lives, their families, their regions, portals of blessing, favor, prosperity, salvation.
Or we saw the opposite effect when people will partner with demonic forces and they will open up chaos, destruction, sin, and rebellion in individual lives, in families, in cities, and communities.
We see one Old Testament example of a portal being open when we see the Tower of Babel.
You know, obviously we see the Tower of Babel.
Everyone comes together.
They start to build this tower and they said their goal was to go enter into heaven and overtake heaven.
And it says that God had to stop them because they were going to succeed.
Now, friends, they weren't building a skyscraper so tall that they would have found heaven's door and knocked on it.
No, they had demonic forces showing them where these portals to heaven would have been.
And God said, it's time to decide to divide the language up, let these people go their different ways.
We got some English speakers, some Spanish speakers.
That's where we got that from.
But, friends, this is a very real thing.
If someone's like, you know what, I don't, maybe I've opened up a spiritual portal to something demonic in my life.
Yeah.
Maybe I have opened doorways.
Maybe when I was a younger kid, I did some things I shouldn't have.
Maybe when I was an older woman or older gentleman, I said some things or I made some commitments that I shouldn't have.
How do you open a good spiritual portal to the Holy Spirit, to God, to the heavenly realms?
And then how do you close one that maybe you opened up to demonic influence?
When a person gets saved, and I'm so glad you asked that question.
When a person gets saved, what happens is the power of sin and hell, death, and the grave is removed because of the Lord Jesus Christ, his death, burial, resurrection, and ascension.
But what happens is when there have been agreements that have been made, legalities and contracts made in the spiritual realm, what happens is you feel the effects of, and this is where we get the concept of generational curses.
This is where many people and families are experiencing undiagnosed sickness.
And they're saying, we don't understand this in the natural because there are spiritual things happening.
So the power has been removed, but we have to deal with the effects of that is still taking place within our soul and within our physical bodies.
So now what a person must do is live a lifestyle, not just one time at the altar, but live a lifestyle of repentance.
So it begins with repentance.
It begins with forgiveness.
And then after the repentance, then there is a renouncing and breaking and severing those ties.
In the book, what you're going to be able to discover is how to identify and discern.
Because this is what we're talking about.
We're in a time where we need to cultivate discernment, which is the ability to distinguish between what is God, what is me, and what is Satan.
So you learn through the scripture how to discern.
So once you discern that, you must repent, you must renounce, and then you ask for the Holy Spirit to fill those gaps in those areas of your life so that you can walk in victory.
And I feel like whenever you're walking in victory, that's when you can have these moments.
You wrote a book, and it's actually about to come out here soon in November.
You wrote a book called That's Crazy.
No, that's God.
God.
And when you're walking in victory, I mean, it's strange because these things actually go really well together.
Whenever you're walking in victory, you have those.
That's crazy.
No, that's God moments.
Absolutely.
And you know, it's interesting because I'm hearing him talk.
And, you know, deep calls unto deep, right?
So the spiritual things, no, the spiritual things.
And, you know, if people would just take this is this is the interesting part.
When we're preaching a sermon or we're giving people truth, there are lies that you've been in agreement with for a long time.
So when we're every show you give, every sermon that is preached, every time we read the Bible, there's a truth coming out.
He was speaking truth right now.
Now you have a choice to either believe that as true or not.
And when to experience the that's God part, you have to come into agreement with the truth that he is speaking.
You have to actually accept the truth.
And I think yesterday we were talking, I was talking a little bit about accepting the truth.
I think a lot of times we think like if this was a gift and I give it to him, but he just grabs it, we think that that's accepting.
You know, the Bible talks about hearing the word, being good soil, accepting it, and it'll bear fruit.
We're not seeing fruit because we're not accepting the words that he's proclaiming that's the gospel, right?
So that's why we're not seeing the fruit.
If he takes, we've gotten a gift before that we've put in a closet and we re-gift it.
That means you didn't accept that gift.
In order for some person to accept the gift, he would have to open and read it and actually utilize the very thing that he got.
Now he's accepted it.
And that's when we know that a person has listened.
And I think a lot of times we want that that's crazy, but we don't want to listen to what the man of God is saying and actually accept it and live that out in our life.
Almost like you have to see yourself the way God sees you.
All day long.
So you have to go back to scripture when he said, I love David because he's a man after my own heart, but yet David was a boy.
Yeah.
But he called him a man.
Yeah.
So understand that when you see yourself in the place where you are right now and the way he will see you, it will change the perspective.
It will change the gifting.
It will change the will of God in your life.
Now, we've made a mistake, pastors, in the church.
We've celebrated gifts and people write books on gifts.
People celebrate the calling and people go out and they build their ministries based on that.
But then they forget that the will of God has to be involved.
That's right.
How do we get back to the will of God?
Because a crazy moment, I know that's a crazy moment from God is aligning yourself back into his will.
Perfect.
But again, the spiritual portals is a bridge back to his will.
How do we get back to the will of God?
There's a portion of scripture where it says that the will of God, because many people always wonder, what is the will of God?
And we're on a quest to try to discover what is the will of God.
But scripture lets us know what is the will of God.
Right around 1 Thessalonians, I believe it's chapter 4 or 5, it says that the will of God is to be sanctified.
And to be sanctified means to draw closer to the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, to follow his ways, to imitate his ways, forgive like him, love like him, pray like him, worship like him.
When we begin to truly surrender our lives, then we walk in his will because we are going through a sanctification, which is a drawing near to the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
And it's not just in our spiritual nature, but also in the realm of our soul, which is our mind, will, intellect, and emotion, and even our physical bodies.
His desire for us is to be sanctified wholly and entirely, our entire bodies, our entire spirit, and our entire souls.
That's good.
I don't know the simplicity of that, right?
Sometimes I think we use vocabulary.
And funny to say, people don't understand, right?
So when I think about the will of God, I just think about God's heart, his desires.
And for me, when I first got out and I had an incarcerated mindset, just 23 years of my life, I would take mind, will, and emotions, and I would always ask myself, I do it backwards.
For those who don't know, tell them, we got out of what?
I didn't know.
So I've done 23 of the incarcerated mind, but 10 years of physical prison.
I was one of the main meth distributors throughout Texas.
I sold drugs in pretty much anywhere I went, Miami, all the parts of Florida, New Jersey.
So everywhere I went, there I was, right?
That you can't outrun yourself.
And so I would try to outrun, I guess, what I was doing, but there I was.
So I'd mess that town up.
And so I would take over cities.
And so I would always say, like, man, why do I feel like this?
And then it would take me to a desire.
This desire is making me feel like this.
And then what kind of thinking is creating this desire that creates these feelings, right?
Because I love the simplicity of the gospel.
And so I would then renew my mind with this thinking and replace it.
And that would create a new desire, which created a new feeling.
And so I've done that my whole, and I was in the same career, my whole time that I've been walking with the Lord as a son, because now I have a father, right, who's disciplining me and going, hey, that's not the good way to think.
I would keep replacing my thinking.
And it's delivered me.
And I've been living from faith to faith and glory to glory.
And you got to live by faith.
You know, we read all these things that, you know, everybody thinks they're living by faith, but when you're living by faith, you're adhering to the word of God.
That's it.
You're listening to instruction.
You're obedient.
Worship, just things like worship.
I think we've used so much vernacular or so much vocabulary to say worship.
And we think like worship night and everybody thinks we sang.
And then my question is always, are you worshiping?
Because, you know, the law of first mention would always say that a posture of a heart is actually you worship.
You could sing and not worship.
Yeah.
Right?
So we have to posture this heart, the fear of the Lord and worship couples, worshipers that worship in spirit and the truth.
It's the perfect combination.
You don't have the fear of the Lord and you don't understand worship.
You're never going to follow.
You're never going to follow.
You know, there's a chapter in your book called Understanding Demonic Portals.
And you have this subtitle underneath it.
Closing demonic portals through repentance and deliverance.
Talk about that for a little bit.
Yeah.
It's a repentance, which means a metanoia, which is a turning of your ways.
Meaning I'm going in one direction, but I acknowledge now a truth.
What happens is there's a difference between reality and truths.
Reality is what we experience in the physical realm.
Yes.
But a truth will always supersede our current reality.
Repentance and Forgiveness 00:04:27
That's why people, when they say, this is my reality, but there's always a truth of God that supersedes our physical realities.
So it begins with a repentance because now the light of Christ's truth has been revealed to me.
What that does is scripture says, a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.
So when that light of God's word, his revelation now hits us, it lets us know I'm going in the wrong way.
I'm going the wrong path.
So now I need to turn.
So that's that repentance.
It's not a cuss word.
It's not something we experience seasonally, but we ought to live a lifestyle of repentance because that repentance is brokenness, is humility before the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
So that repentance will cause us now to be able to identify these things don't glorify the Lord.
These things don't honor God.
So now I begin to now make agreements with heaven through the scripture to shut these things down, renouncing and disconnecting.
And now I'm not aligning myself with these evil thoughts, these evil ways, but rather I'm now aligning myself with the words of God, the thoughts of God, which draws us again to his heart.
It's good.
Pastor Juan, that leads me to think about relationships.
How does forgiveness play a role in spiritual deliverance?
Do we have time?
The simplicity of it is, man, you're releasing a debt that's been released for you.
And so, you know, imagine not being forgiven by our father.
And he actually says, man, that if we can't forgive another person, you can't be forgiven.
And I think when we talk about terms of living from, having victory from, it's really like when I forgive, it's because I've been forgiven.
When I reconcile with someone, I'm not as much as like, you know, because we were at war with God and he reconciled us.
He built a bridge for us to be back to Jesus.
My job is to, any conversation I have is to point him to Jesus, to point you to Jesus.
So I think it's vital.
I think when we're not doing that, we're not living from this place where you've been reconciled or you haven't really understood mercy or grace.
When you begin to understand that truth, as you were saying, brother, when you begin to understand that truth, that truth should overflow from you.
You feel weird if you don't forgive.
And you're right.
You know, I don't know, something that I guess I kind of want to share a little about marriage in the sense of like something, there are four things because I want you to think about something.
When we talk about marriage, and we've done thousands and thousands, deliverance for marriage in a sense, right?
So when we're talking about a marriage, me and my wife, there's something that we always check when we get upset.
And there are four things.
One of them is partnership, right?
Are we, did we talk to each other before this disagreement?
And if these four things, it's always one of them that are out of alignment, right?
It's always one that's out of alignment.
So the first one is partnership.
Did we talk about it?
The second one is purity.
Were we a safe place for each other when we spoke or did we blow up?
The third one is priorities.
Did we prioritize each other or are we in disagreement because we didn't prioritize each other?
And the last one is pursuit.
Are we pursuing one another?
And so I think if we do those things, you know, marriage is just two people that continually serve one another that deny, die at the cross, but it's a constant state of forgiveness.
And so if you don't have the gospel, see, see, some of us have the thought of we know that Jesus is not Easter message, right?
Everybody knows Easter, and that's as much gospel as we're living from.
But when you are living it from the inside and you understand the gospel, everything else makes sense.
Until you believe in your heart and confess, come into agreement that Jesus is actually your Lord.
Wow.
You're not saved.
You can say the words.
They're not magic words.
There's an agreement when there's confession.
And if you're not in agreement that he is your Lord, then you'll never follow and you'll never deny.
But man, when you realize he's your king, everything changes.
So when we talk about forgiveness, I feel like there's no gospel without that.
There's nothing there.
That is super important to coming out of whatever you're in.
Wow.
That's super.
Amanda, that's incredible.
And friends, I feel like a lot of people know this information, but they don't know this information.
We've heard it preached.
We've seen it maybe demonstrated from someone else.
Culture Clash 00:03:10
But we realize if I'm going to know the information intimately in my heart, then that means there has to be change.
You're from Houston, Texas, that general area, Spring, Texas.
You're in Baltimore.
You're both in big cities.
I mean, tell me right now, we live in Blue Act.
Small area branches, not even much larger.
But from the big city perspective, those, a lot of people who watch online, they're in those big cities.
Do you feel like there's culture that is anti-Bible, anti-God?
You know, maybe an agenda that is non-biblical values happening right now that pushes people away from those things.
I think culture is just invaded.
Like, this is why when a person comes that is walking with the Lord Jesus Christ and he lives, you know, let's say like you're Philip Mitchells or somebody that's preaching the word out there, you hear it and everybody gets offended, right?
Or everybody tries to talk you out of what you know to be true, like, right?
There's this fruit that a lot of times, and I don't think those things are celebrated.
It's more like if you tell a person, you know, like, like loving my wife is cool.
Right.
But in a culture of the world, it's like the more popular you are, the more likes.
There's all this entertainment.
There's all these worldly values that are cultural that don't fit.
Because over here, it says not follow your heart.
Yeah.
You know, in the culture, everybody's like, my truth, your truth, it's whatever truth.
But in the gospel, there's the truth.
Yeah.
That's right.
Yeah.
And so right now, I'm seeing in a big city, everybody kind of lives how they want to live.
I don't see a lot of denying.
I don't see the gospel.
Right.
And if you're the one that, yeah, I'm not going to do that or I don't want to entertain that, then you're like the weird one.
You're like, yeah, okay.
And so, you know, when I look at the Bible, though, I kind of expect that because there's a remnant in a narrow path.
Peculiar people.
Peculiar people.
You've got to be different.
Absolutely.
And I think we, you know, obviously clothes and stuff, that's okay, but there should be fruit.
There should be fruit.
And I think in today's time, at least in big cities, everybody wants to do whatever they want to do and then add in Jesus' name.
They're adding in Jesus' name things that Jesus would never add his name.
You know, like he didn't sign the check, but they got it.
And it says kingdom and all that, but he never signed it.
And so we're trying to turn in checks that don't have a signature.
They're trying to cast checks with no signature.
Pastor Sergio, so how do we change that?
How do we make it to where the next generation isn't a generation that is swayed by culture, but they're swayed by the spirit?
Scripture lets us know in Romans 12 to not be conformed to the patterns of this age.
The patterns means the world system, the thought pattern and the paradigms of the world.
Actually, when we talk about deliverance and we often mention principalities, right?
Ephesians chapter 6, there's a mention of principalities.
You know what principality is in a region based on the principles and the ideology of that region.
So in different cities, you're going to find different types of sin greater than in another city because there's a leading principle.
Fire for God 00:06:00
There's a leading ideology and that's the leading principality that is now enforcing that.
So what do we do?
We've been talking about partnership all day.
We've been talking about oneness with the Lord Jesus Christ.
There needs to be a remnant.
There needs to be a people that will be bold and be countercultural and not conform to the pattern of this age.
Do what is unpopular, do what is uncommon and stand boldly proclaiming the power of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and full of faith and proclaiming that, spreading that message and now raising up a remnant that will pursue the heart of God more than anything else.
Raising an amen.
Can I ask this?
I know our time is leaving, but how do we encourage the people in the church hearing us preachers, encourage them to go out and minister?
Don't just live in your bubble.
I've noticed that people come to church, they get saved and they get wrapped into this religious bubble and then they don't know how to spread the gospel.
They don't want to spread the gospel.
They don't want to go out.
How do we encourage our own people to get out there and evangelize and share the gospel and find the one that was lost?
How do we do that?
Pastor Sergio, you want to share?
I would say we need to get on fire for God once again.
Come on.
If a person is on fire, I'm talking about physically.
If someone was lit on fire, you're going to see that person shouting.
You're going to see that person screaming.
You're going to see that person running around.
In other words, it's unavoidable and it's inevitable.
You're going to tell that a person is on fire.
And I believe that the reason why many people are not pushing and the people are not pursuing this, are not proclaiming and spreading the gospel is because we've lost the fire.
So I believe that if I can encourage anybody is to go back to the secret place, get on fire for God, where that begins to happen, that self-denial.
And you begin to pick up your cross.
You catch a fire for God because you've created an altar for God.
You've opened up a heavenly portal in your home, within your family.
And that fire for God is going to cause you to cause you to spread the word of God because you're on fire for God.
It's going to spread.
It's going to be contagious.
Yeah.
There's really nothing else to add to that.
But, you know, when I got here yesterday, everybody told me that about HUDS, the burger spot.
I think when you taste and see that he's good, everything that he's saying, when something is good, you want to share it.
So the close proximity of being with him, if you're to get fired, to sweat, you got to get close to the fire.
To get wet, you got to get close to the water.
These people that are saying, hey, you know, I don't know.
I'm not bold enough.
I don't know.
It comes out of that place.
I think we're not tapping into the secret place.
There's a difference.
There's a big difference.
When you're in that secret place, you come out.
I mean, you want to go tell everybody.
That's right.
You know, I was swallowed by a whale.
You know, you want to tell everybody.
I once was blind.
So I am in total agreement with you.
That fire has to happen.
It comes through closeness.
Amen.
The fire has to happen.
Friends, we have to live in a manner that the world knows we're a different people, that we don't just fit in.

You're going to make a lot of important decisions, but this one tops them all.
Give your life to Jesus today.
Call that number.
It's 1-888-988-1-588.
Pray the salvation prayer.
A member of our pastoral staff will call you back.
We'll help you find a good Bible-believing church in your area.
We'll make sure that you stay locked in to the gospel and get partnership around you.
Because, friends, this is not a walk that you're going to need to walk alone.
You need to find brothers and sisters who will lift your arms up, your errands and your hurdles.
You'll keep your hands lifted up when they need to be lifted.
And sometimes they'll tell you to go rest when you need to rest.
But you need to find those people around you that will keep you accountable in the day that we're living in.
It's a word that the church has kind of drifted away from.
But friends, accountability is what's going to save the church in this time.
Transparency as well.
And those two things come only in their pure form from the Holy Spirit.
Never forget this.
And don't let anybody tell you otherwise.
God loves you.
He really does.
Bye-bye for today.
Thank you so much.
