New Believer's Journey 00:15:18
Today on the Jim Baker Family Show, many churches put the idea of deliverance ministry on the back burner.
Yet for the new believer, salvation may be just the beginning.
Today, our guests deal with unhealed trauma and how that may create demonic strongholds in our lives.
Special guests include evangelist John Ramirez, once a high-ranking satanic priest, transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Juan Martinez, author and expert on spiritual deliverance.
Bishop Ron Webb, a pastor to pastors from Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
And Pastor Sergio Nazir Chavez, co-founder and leader of the Hope Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Our co-host today is Reverend Mondo De La Vega.
And now, here's your host, Pastor Ricky Baker.
Hello, friends.
You're watching the PTL Television Network.
If you have your Bible at home, either open it up or turn it on.
I know the generation I'm talking to.
Sometimes you got to turn on.
There you go.
That's right.
He got the Bible right there.
Open it up to Romans chapter 8.
I'm reading out of the CSB.
This is verse 37.
It says this, know in all things that we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Come on.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers or anything created will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Friends, there is nothing that can separate you.
There is no sin that is too great.
There is no word you have said that is too far for the redemptive power of the blood of Jesus Christ.
Jesus did go to the cross.
He did endure the lashes on his back.
He did hang there as soldiers mocked him and fed him vinegar and poked his side with a spear.
And he did die.
And he did go into a tomb for three days.
But friends, Muhammad still lays in his tomb today.
Buddha still lays in his tomb today.
All these gods of Krishna still lay in their tombs today.
There was one God who rose by his own spirit and authority and power on the third day, and that is Jesus Christ.
And friends, that's the God that we serve.
We're talking about deliverance today.
Friends, that might be a fringe topic in your church.
That might be something that your church has never addressed, but it is for the modern day believer.
We have with us an incredible lineup of people.
I'm going to introduce them right now if you don't mind.
Evangelist John Ramirez, I want to say thank you for being here.
Pastor Juan Martinez, Bishop Ron Rubin, Pastor Sergio Nazir, Chavez, you guys are incredible.
Pastor or evangelist, I don't know.
I keep wanting to call you a pastor.
First time I call him on the phone, I said, Pastor, he said, first time I'm not a pastor, who is this?
I said, I said, it's the IRA.
No, I'm just kidding.
I didn't say that.
Come on.
Tell us who you are, the resources that you have, because we did at the end of the show yesterday.
But today, I want to make sure people know your resources, different books and websites.
They can find all the different things you're going to talk about.
Amen.
I believe at johnramerith.org, you can go there.
My book, Out of the Devil's Cauldron, is here and also the next chapter because what God starts, he finish.
Come on.
Listen, it's not where you start as a devil worshipper 25 years.
It's where you finish with the salvation and the finished work of the cross that you get to eternity the right way.
Amen.
So here, you can go to johnramerith.org and you can find all the wonderful things that God has done.
And not only in my life, but he's no respected person he can do in your life too.
Amen.
Pastor Juan Martinez.
Yes, sir.
You have a book that's coming out called That's Crazy.
No, that's God.
That's it.
Tell us what inspired that because this is your third book, right?
Is that my correct?
This is your third book.
It'll be published with Charisma.
Charisma.
So Charisma, we're going to have an affiliate program.
We'll have him back on the show to talk about the release of his new book.
That's crazy.
No, that's God by Pastor Juan Martinez.
It's right there on the screen.
Tell us, first off, what is that?
What does that phrase mean?
And then tell us about your church that you pastor in Texas as well as your website.
Absolutely.
You know, I don't know, but most of the time for me and other people, when I'm hearing them share a God story, you know, they'll say, man, that's crazy.
And, you know, one day I was praying and I felt like the Lord was like, that's not crazy, Juan, it's me.
Right?
And so I started to just look at the body of Christ and I started to see people chasing miracle signs and wonders.
And they just love the crazy.
They love the big and the shiny.
But nobody wants to do that.
That's God.
See, I'm a firm believer that when we focus and we set our eyes on Jesus and we follow God, we deny ourselves, carry our cross, and follow him.
We start, signs and wonders just start following you.
And you start going through life.
You know, I started my life at 40 years old.
So I need you to think, you start in your life at 40 years old.
That's when I go get my first pair of socks.
And I'm 54 today.
And the things that God has done in my life and the people that God has connected me with in life has me saying that's crazy, like at least once a month.
I feel like most, every believer or every disciple should be living the supernatural life daily.
It's not like here and there.
I think the little things like having normal.
Yeah, that should be the norm.
And so I don't understand coming to Christ at 36 years old, how when I come to the church, there's only a small pocket of people that are experiencing this while the whole church isn't.
So in the book, man, it's just a lot of Jesus because if I get you to focus on Jesus, then the rest will come.
Amen.
Bishop Ron Webb.
Yes, man, I'm excited to be back today and while just around plethora of knowledge and wisdom that's exuding from this place is absolutely phenomenal.
But we do a lot on leadership.
We've authored nine books and leadership behind the scene is the driving theme of leadership because there's a lot of people see the big and the shiny, but they don't know the things that the struggles behind the scenes as leadership.
And then exposing the enemy from behind the scenes.
Listening to evangelist John today, you know, and I'm thinking he's a modern day Paul, you know, Saul, transformation on the road to Damascus.
And now he's on the Lord's side 100%.
But we do a lot on leadership and we really want to pastor the pastors and encourage our leaders today.
Amen.
And Pastor, I want you to tell them the website's you have a new book coming out.
Yes, sir.
I want you to show it to you.
We'll put it up on the screen.
Absolutely.
Spiritual portals.
Tell us about the book and then also where we can find the rest of your resources because you do pastor a church out of Baltimore.
That's right.
I'm on the east side of Baltimore and we're experiencing a great move of God revival in the city of Baltimore.
I just been given the great privilege and honor to release spiritual portals, how to open heaven's gates and shut out demonic forces.
So I believe this is going to be a very powerful tool on discernment.
We have in the body of Christ a lot of people that are desiring all sorts of gifts and it's a wonderful thing.
But I believe that one of the gifts that we are lacking and needing in the body of Christ is discernment.
So that's what they're going to cultivate within this book of spiritual portals to be able to identify and discern when believers have opened themselves up to demonic portals and the destruction and chaos that comes with it, but also how to shut it down and begin to release and open up portals of divine blessing, favor, strength, dominion, and authority.
So that book is made available.
You can visit my website on surgery on IsielCavez.com and all of the resources there.
Pray for this pastors.
Pray for the leaders in the church.
Quit cursing the leaders.
You don't know what it is to be a leader unless you is one.
Is that good English?
That's good.
I'll say this too because we live in the Ozarks.
You can get away with that.
The focus of this conference is the deliverance conference.
I know it's a fringe topic for a lot of people, but friends, stop cursing deliverance ministries.
Stop cursing people being set free from demonic strongholds.
Because that's what we're seeing.
Is a lot of people is what the church does is whenever they can't logically explain it, they curse it.
They fight it.
Absolutely.
They can't logic it out when they say, Well, I can't Greek and Hebrew this to death.
They curse it whenever they realize people are getting set free.
I thought deliverance was normal when I came to the Lord.
Well, it should be because the first thing after accepting Jesus Christ, the pastor, Pastor Robert, pulled me into his office and he says, We got to deliver you of some demons.
I'm like, Man, I just learned about God.
What do you mean, deliverance?
But I didn't realize this, Pastor Juan, that unhealed trauma hides unhealed traumas and they become altars in our lives.
Yes, this demonic forces of oppression in our Christian life really can take over, even though we can be in the church 10 years, 20 years, 30 years.
How important is it for us to deal with unhealed traumas?
I think it's very, very important because belief drives behavior, right?
A lot of times we're focusing on trying to change the behavior without actually changing the belief.
You know, I had written down a note here: whatever you refuse to surrender becomes what you subconsciously serve.
And so, you know, when you have pain and it's unhealed, it becomes landing strips for lies.
So, when you have unhealed trauma, you believe that that is what's real to you.
So, you're going to live off of all the lies that's actually speaking to you.
Last I checked, we're supposed to be listening to the voice of Jesus.
So, the more you get closer to the Lord, I believe that new experiences, when we were talking about experiential knowledge, right?
There's a difference between knowing God in your facts or actually walking with Jesus.
I believe when you begin to walk with Jesus, new experiences deal with deeply rooted issues.
In other words, that's just why you have to be born again.
You have to start everything new, everything that you have ever learned, you have to relearn it.
To go back to some of the things you were saying, I think the planet's afraid of something because they're not spending time with Jesus.
In other words, deliverance has like 10 trillion things.
Even the people, you got to identify who's doing deliverance and who's saying deliverance, right?
Because those are two different things.
And I think that's where the because people aren't spending time with Jesus themselves, there's all kinds of confusion because everybody just thinks deliverance one way.
We, we, uh, something John's always saying is we, you know, we all have giftings up here, and we all lead people in deliverance.
And the way we do it, the methods are a little different, but we're all gifted in it, and we're all doing our best to do it the way Jesus would.
Are you with me?
Amen.
And so, I think a lot of times people are afraid of it because they're not, there's some people that are just doing whatever.
That's right, right?
And so, there's no fruit from it, there's no transformation.
And so, all this confusion sits in.
But if you started with the Bible, at our church, we've been trying to make the Bible cool again.
So, I make everybody lift up the Bible on Sundays.
I've been doing this for like six months now.
I go lift up your Bibles, right?
And we say, This is the word of God today.
I'm good soil.
I'm going to hear it, accept it, and it's going to bear fruit.
Wow.
And if we don't get back to that, we're just going to have a bunch of people doing a lot of foolish things.
And that's where all the confusion comes in.
And you won't be able to identify what is sound and what sounds good, which are two different things.
There's sound doctrine because the teaching comes from the word and it's Jesus.
And then there's things that sound good today that won't cause transformation.
Amen.
I want to ask you this question, Evangelist.
How does the enemy exploit areas of passivity in a Christian's life?
How can the enemy exploit that in our lives?
Well, I believe that the devil's methods is the devil's theologies transmit.
When you meet the real Jesus, God takes a transmit of the enemy.
He changed the channel, he transforms.
Because when you transmit situations into your life, right, it only brings spiritual clutter.
And I think people, it's like you go to someone's house and say, oh, it's just okay, walk around, and you don't want to step over this, step over that.
And you're like, oh, God, Victor, give me the Uber.
And give me the thing.
I'll clean up your house.
And Jesus will clean up your house.
And I think a lot of people don't want transformation.
Wow.
Transformation brings change.
And sometimes transformation, you don't say hallelujah.
You say ouch.
And it's the ouch part that people don't want to deal with.
So they rather settle and be complacent in the area of their life that you grow.
This is the thing.
You grow old, but you don't grow up.
It's like people saying, could I go to heaven without church?
Yes, you can go to heaven without church, but you'll never be a growing Christian.
Wow.
You know, but Jesus said, if you're grafted into the vine, if you're a branch not attached to the vine, you're going to fall off.
You're going to wither.
You're going to be dying.
And Jesus said, hey, don't argue with me, argue with the word.
He said, at that point, you're no better than firewood.
You'll be bundled up and cast into the fire when you separate yourself from the vine.
That's why you have to remain connected to the vine.
Pastor Sergei, I want to ask you this question because I think it's important.
You know, a lot of people believe deliverance is good, but it's for another church.
Is deliverance for every single church across the United States of America?
That's exactly right, because deliverance is the love of Jesus Christ in action.
Deliverance is made available today as it was during the days of the Lord Jesus himself.
And he said, what I do, you also do it.
But not just in the same way that I do it, but greater works shall you do in my name.
So he carried himself with dominion, with a position of authority.
And he said, this same authority that I have, you'll be able to carry this work out also.
Because when the Lord Jesus came on the earth, he came not to establish a religion, but rather he came to establish a kingdom.
And within a kingdom, he is the king, and a king made a decree.
He said, Do as I do.
These signs will follow those who believe.
So I believe this is the hour that the body of Christ is using powerful voices like the ones that are here to awaken the church to this spiritual truth that the spiritual dimensions, they're very real.
And just by ignoring them, it doesn't mean it's going to go away.
And the Lord said, my people perish for lack of knowledge.
And if you notice, he didn't say another people.
He said, my people.
And I believe that the Lord is calling us to an awakening now where he's saying, rise with this knowledge and understanding that's all in the scripture.
It's all there.
And so by doing this and exercising this beautiful ministry, the ministry of deliverance, we are walking in the same grace of the Lord Jesus Christ himself.
What steps can a believer take to shut down demonic doors that really we openly, unknowingly, we open the doors for that?
So what steps can we take through using the word to be able to shut those things down?
First of all, acknowledging, you know, it's hard to fix a problem if you don't think you have one.
Amen.
And the word of God is the key.
Every time the enemy came to Jesus, he said, it is written.
You know, last night we talked about, you know, and Apostle John alluded to, you know, inspiration.
You know, we got a lot of young prophets that, you know, move off of inspiration and impulse, but you better move off the word of God, you know, not just be inspired.
A Free Man to Free Another 00:00:59
But Jesus says it is written.
And Satan attempted, he came back, what, three or four different times.
Every time Jesus responded with the word of God.
And we have to respond with the word of God.
And then the other point, when you deal with deliverance, you know, you got to make sure you delivered before you can deliver anybody else.
You know?
So we have a lot of people trying to do deliverance, but they're still bound, oppressed.
They're dealing with these things.
They're dealing with themselves.
And it takes a free man to free a man.
It takes a free man to free a man.
So how does someone, let's, I mean, Pastor John, let's talk about this because this is the reality of it.
We're talking, I believe, over breakfast.
There's a lot of pastors, evangelists, ministers, missionaries, worship leaders who are still bound, still doing the work of the Lord, still showing up on Sundays, preaching their sermons, still singing their songs, still going out, laying on of hands, still building churches in other countries, but they're bound.
Surrendering All 00:04:26
They're still spiritually in chains.
How do we get free so that we can make sure we can help really free other people?
I think I believe it's just being transparent, right?
Right?
Being transparent.
I mean, we're all a work in progress, but you have to surrender or have it all.
You know, in Jesus, you need to surrender or have it all.
You need to be real with yourself, transparent with yourself.
Spiritual transformation only comes when you lay it down at the altar, right?
Yeah.
When you lay yourself at the altar as a living sacrifice, God does stuff.
I mean, I got my deliverance by the baptism pool.
I had a hundred.
This is the thing.
I had a hundred thousand dollars worth of ceremonies in my body, cuts in my body, sold my soul to the devil.
I give all that money to the devil and got nothing.
Right?
And then, and then when the Lord is offering deliverance, healing, restoration, restitution in your life, all for free in regards to restore you and to make your vessel of honor for the glory of God and the souls of people.
You're saying you gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to the demonic and it gave you nothing in return.
Nothing.
I saw myself for $3,500, right?
Because you have to pay the high priest $3,500, which is he was the right hand of Fidel Casho in Cuba.
He was the highest warlock in the planet.
Wow.
He came to America and he did the ceremony in my body for $3,500 when salvation is free.
Wow.
And salvation is free.
And you've had a lot more return on investment with salvation.
I mean, I'm a generous giver to the kingdom.
Because, you know, if the Old Testament had to give 10%, this is me living, right?
If the Old Testament had to give 10% and you live by the law, how much more I give God?
I live by grace.
Wow.
Wow, that's a good word.
I don't think I do.
How much are I giving?
How much I gave more.
That's right.
That was getting delivered by the girl.
You know what's funny, though?
Before you get, I want to finish with this point because if you notice, there's a major thing that happens in the church that gets attacked.
I want to say the most is giving.
Tithes is an offering.
Tithes is an offering.
And it's the same so-called quote-unquote Christians attacking the giving.
But yet, giving is very spiritual.
The deliverance that you have to go through to give without expecting to receive anything in return.
You have been taught a poverty spirit because I gave to the Lord.
That's right.
My mom, we grew up on government cheese.
Yeah.
I'm talking about government cheese, man.
That thing was so thick you could chew it for a week.
I've been delivered from a poverty spirit in my life.
The curse has been broken because I have given to the kingdom.
And if God done so much for me, you cannot give God.
But the reason people are even in the church, you know, they want to hold on to their finances or their blessings because they don't trust God.
They want to hold on to their tangible things, but they don't trust God.
Bishop, you had something you wanted to say.
Well, I mean, I'm just, I concur with y'all.
And you asked the question a while ago: is the deliverance important?
It's so important.
And I was thinking while you were speaking, there are so many people asking the question today: can you be cursed and be a Christian at the same time?
And or can you be delivered, you know, and then the enemy can bind you at the same time.
And I really think we need to deal with this.
And I'm so thankful for this show on deliverance today because you need to understand that no weapon that are formed, and we have to declare that weapons are going to be formed.
They're formed against us every day.
But the good news is none of them shall prosper as a believer.
You can stand on that.
And if you back up and read, you know, the verse maybe 16 before 17, God says, I'm the one that created the blacksmith.
Gospel's Covering Power 00:08:09
that created the weapon.
So therefore, I have control of not just the weapon, but the one who created the weapon.
And no weapon formed against me shall or you shall be able to prosper.
And then I was thinking at the same time, Balaam was hired by Balak to curse God's people.
And even the backsliding prophet said, man, you can't curse what God has blessed.
And he went to the top of the mountain and the Bible said he opened his mouth to curse them, but a blessing came out.
I'm here to decree today that you cannot curse what God has blessed.
When you are living for God and standing in the way of God, ain't a devil in hell or out of hell can curse the people of God.
Amen.
Friends, I will never mince my words on that.
There's only one way to heaven.
Jesus said it very clearly.
I'm the way, I am the truth, and I am the light.
We look at every other major world religion, and the majority of them actually point to Christ as an archetype, a good example to live by, a prophet, a great teacher.
Well, friends, if they're all pointing at Christ, then we should look at Christ ourselves and say, well, what did Jesus say?
Well, Jesus said, I'm the way.
I am the truth, and I am the life.
Nobody comes to the Father except through me.
If you haven't given your life to Jesus Christ, today's the day.
It's not tomorrow.
It's not someday.
It's today.
Give your life to Jesus.
It's the most important decision you will ever make.
See, think about this, friends.
Let's do a little math in our heads.
In a trillion years from now, when eternity is going, you'll be able to, in heaven, have the cognitive reasoning ability to say, wow, eternity has just scratched the surface.
We have just begun eternity with Jesus Christ because I have my life right with him while I lived here on this vapor of an earth.
But friends, there's the same reality the other direction.
There'll be those who don't give their lives to Jesus, who reject Christ, who go, and there is a real place called hell.
And in the same amount of time, a trillion years from now, through all the suffering, they'll be able to realize with their brain, this separation from Christ has just began.
This separation from God Almighty has just began.
Friends, that's why we need to be evangelizing to our family members.
No matter how embarrassing, no matter if you don't get invited to Thanksgiving, no matter if they don't give your kids Christmas presents, stop caring about those things and make sure you're pouring into them the gospel of Jesus Christ.
It's time to go tell that McDonald's drifty worker that God loves them, the checkout person at Walmart, become unashamed for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
And friends, in the moment, you may get rejected.
You say, can I pray with you?
They might say no.
But friends, what you're doing is you're planting seeds.
You're planting.
Well, why would that person want to pray with me?
You're planting seeds.
Somebody else will come and water.
Somebody else will come and harvest.
Friends, I promise you right now, we can step into the greatest time of evangelism if you're willing to put your ego, your pride, everything, your shame out on the line and say, God, I want no ego.
I want no pride.
Let me live with no shame for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
But if you need help praying that salvation prayer, we want to stand in the gap with you.
Our number is 1-888-988-1588.
We'll have a member of our pastoral staff call you back.
We will pray with you.
We'll help you find a good Bible-believing church in your area because we want to know that you are going to the kingdom of God.
And if you've given your life today, I want to say welcome home.
Welcome to the family of Jesus Christ.
You're now my brother, my sister.
And we say yank you.
Friends, go put it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
Tell everyone, I've accepted Jesus Christ.
With just a few minutes left in the broadcast, Pastor Shirchi, I want to ask you this question.
How do we protect our homes, our families from demonic forces, from making sure we don't have spiritual portals opening up?
Absolutely.
Doorways.
I would say, according to the scripture, Ephesians 6 lets us know that we wrestle not against flesh and blood.
And then it goes on to let us know that we can be covered with the armor of God.
And when we cover ourselves with the full armor of God, not just a part of the armor, but the full armor, we're actually clothing ourselves with Christ because each of those attributes of the armor of God point back to the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
So the way that we protect ourselves is by clothing ourselves with the nature, the essence, the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ via his Holy Spirit.
And that's how we do it.
Staying rooted in the word of God, staying rooted in community.
So we're protected within community and practicing spiritual disciplines such as prayer and fasting.
These are powerful tools for us to continue to walk in that victory that the Lord Jesus Christ already paid for.
Now, you said a bad word in the church, brother.
You said spiritual disciplines.
That's it.
Spiritual discipline.
A lot of people don't want to hear that.
You can't be a disciple without discipline.
Even the etymology of the word discipline, you have the word, you have discipline within disciple.
Wow.
So when you look at that, it's very necessary.
But you will never fulfill spiritual discipline until you yield and surrender fully to Christ.
I heard a message many, many years ago.
I can't remember what it was.
I think maybe it was Brother Hagen where he said, giving is a discipline.
It must be exercised.
You know, things like that.
Serving is a discipline.
Loving is a discipline.
These are all things.
Forgiving is a discipline.
These are all things that we have to work for.
And friends, it's important.
Know this, that the gift of God, salvation is a free and a gracious gift.
Friends, you can work your entire life and still not make the mark for heaven apart from Jesus Christ.
Whenever you say yes to Jesus, he covers you in his blood.
He covers you in his holiness.
He covers you in his righteousness.
So that one day when you stand in front of the Father, you will be called holy, righteous, perfect.
You will make the mark for heaven, not by your own account and how good you are and all the great deeds and all the charity and all the money you gave in that aspect.
But friends, because you're covered in the blood of Jesus Christ.
But while we are here on earth, we are not saved by works.
But friends, we are saved for works.
There is a job to get out there.
Put on your spiritual work boots.
Put on your spiritual armor of God.
Get out there and reap the harvest.
Over 2 billion people on this earth call themselves believers.
They call themselves Christians.
And Jesus said the laborers are few.
2 billion people, billion with a B, say, I am a believer in Jesus.
And Jesus, seeing the future, said the laborers are few.
Friends, we need to get out there.
We need to wake up other Christians to the reality that Christ is coming back soon.
Whether you believe it's going to happen tomorrow, whether you believe it's going to happen in 100 years, I'm going to live like it's going to happen this afternoon.
We have to get out there and win one more for Jesus today.
Pastor John, you have a word for somebody who's watching right now.
They may be slipping into a mindset of depression, anxiety.
They're saying, you know what?
I've done too much.
I've gone too far.
There's no redemption for me.
What would you say to them today?
Well, listen, I got a friend of mine.
His name is Son of Sam, which is a son of hope.
He's during 365 years in jail.
And he became from the son of Sam, the son of hope.
Wow.
Because no one is too far gone for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Wow.
And he's one of the greatest evangelists behind bars.
And he has one more people.
He's winning people that people behind bars.
Think about it because the gospel is freedom.
The gospel is truth.
And not only are you a believer, but you want to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
So if you're in oppression, depression, listen, we go to pharmacy, we get medication, but then we got to go back the next 30 days.
Jesus Christ, he will set you free in any condition, in any circumstance, because deliverance is the children's prey.
Amen.
Receive Jesus Christ.
Let him give, test them, test Jesus Christ for 30 days.
See what happens.
The God for scripture.
The God for scripture will take 30 days.
Friends, thank you for watching.
This is episode two of our Deliverance Conference.
We'll be back tomorrow.
I want you to remember this.
God loves you.
He really does.
Bye-bye for today.
