America's Pro-Life Voice 00:15:34
Welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show.
Today, our special guest is the author of the Heartbeat Bill, Janet Porter.
Our co-host today is Reverend Mondo de la Vega.
And now, here is your host, Pastor Ricky Baker.
Hello, friends.
You're watching the PTL Television Network.
We have Janet Porter back with us.
She is the founder and president of Faith to Action, formed to win the Quatra War for Life, Liberty, and the family.
Janet, I want to say thank you for joining our broadcast again today.
The last show we talked about the pro-life heartbeat bill, which ensures that if a heartbeat is detected, then the baby is protected.
You talked about a little bit of backlash you received on this from both sides of the aisle.
And I want to kind of start there because we have a lot of very pro-American, conservative, pro-life, family-loving individuals who watch this show who would probably be shocked to find out that there were actually Republican and conservative counterparts who didn't want to see a heartbeat bill passed in their state.
First off, thank you for having me back again.
It's great to be with you guys.
I wanted to mention, Mondo, I read your book.
It's fantastic.
I just love you guys.
We've been praying for Pastor Jim and for all you guys are doing.
We're grateful.
We're very, very grateful.
But yeah, yeah, you're going to get resistance.
If you don't get any resistance, you might be walking the same direction as the enemy.
If you're going to do something for God, expect there to be some resistance.
But what I didn't expect is the resistance to come from primarily Republicans who were Republicans in name only.
That's where that rhino name comes from.
Or from people who call themselves pro-life.
There's a lot of pro-life pretenders that maybe are in it because they want to keep it going and keep the money going.
I don't know.
I don't know what would make someone say, I'm pro-life, but I'm going to oppose a bill that will protect nine out of 10 babies.
I can't understand that.
Except that everything at the core is spiritual.
And what we've got to do is realize that we get on our knees, but then we get on our feet and realize that God is greater than any obstacle that we face.
We are more than conquerors.
And that's the thing that Christians need to know.
And if they know that, they'll actually stand up and be a part of the effort to stop the killing.
It's another war that we in America seem to have overlooked, but it's one that God has not overlooked.
And so we've got to stand up and speak up and be a part of the solution.
And the good news is we have a solution.
We have a federal heartbeat bill that will keep hearts beating nationwide.
And so we've got it.
It's H.R. 682.
And we've got a way to jump-start it, to get it going, to get our members of Congress reminded of the oath they took when they swore to uphold the Constitution.
As it guarantees in that document, that we have an inalienable, God-given right to life, and God-given rights can't be repealed.
I want to say this, because America Christians in America finally realized, or maybe they have not realized, Ricky, how much authority and power we carry when we get together and make up our minds to stand up for something.
When you gather Christians in America, we can make a difference if we want to.
We can make a difference if we put our efforts together.
But Janet, what do you feel is the state of the church right now when it comes to issues of the heartbeat bill?
And you see half of Christianity supporting you and the other half not showing up?
You know, that's it.
The good news is God is famous for working through remnants.
It doesn't take a lot of people to do a lot of good.
I think that one of the things that we see in America is, well, we're all happy.
We're all grateful that God rescued America.
He gave us President Trump.
And I thank God every day.
I pray for him every day for his protection, for his wisdom, especially in light of the decisions he's going to be making in the next few days and weeks.
But we cannot overlook what it is that we all have held dear and what God holds dear, as he wrote in stone, thou shalt not kill.
It's in our Constitution that we're endowed by our Creator with the inalienable.
That means you can't legislate it away, the right to life.
And so what we've got to do is let the church know, first off, there is a solution.
It's not, oh, well, we've done the best we can, and at least we're making progress on other issues.
No, I'm here to say that we can walk and chew gum.
We can actually advance the cause of protecting children in the transgender agenda.
We can stop the illegal immigration, the border that has been bringing in illegal aliens and criminals.
We can do a lot of things at once because we have a lot of elected officials that need to do their jobs.
And one of the jobs that they need to do, according to the oath they took, when they took office, they all swore to uphold the Constitution.
And in that Constitution, this is something I want to share with you because I didn't know this.
I'm reading the 14th Amendment.
I've read it many times, but for some reason, I overlook this part.
That's the 14th Amendment.
We all know it, that we are guaranteed equal protection under the law.
That's no matter what state you're in or what age you are, we have equal protection under the law.
Every human being should be equally protected.
It also says in the 14th Amendment, nor shall any state deprive any person of life, of the right to life.
And that is something that's happening every single day in America.
But what can you do?
You know, what can Congress do?
Well, it says right in the Constitution, interestingly enough, in the 14th Amendment of the Constitution, here's the phrase I saw.
It jumped out at me for the first time.
It says, Congress shall have the power to enforce by appropriate legislation the provisions of this article.
So in other words, Congress will say, well, you know, what should I do?
I can't do anything.
Yeah, I swore an oath, but what can I do?
Legislate.
No, your job is to enforce the Constitution, to enforce equal protection, to enforce our God-given right to life.
That is what you're supposed to do, and you're supposed to do it with appropriate legislation.
I can't think of more appropriate legislation than the federal heartbeat bill that says if a heartbeat's detected, that baby is protected.
We're no longer going to deny science.
We're going to empower people to protect children through a federal heartbeat bill nationwide.
Yes, I'm just going to say it because nobody else is saying it.
It can be done.
When I introduced the first heartbeat bill in America, they said it can't be done.
Well, 15 heartbeat bills later, that idea doesn't sound so crazy.
It's not so impossible.
What I want to say is that we can pass a federal heartbeat bill.
In fact, it wasn't that long ago with the help of your viewership and the people like former Majority Leader Tom DeLay, we ended up with 174 co-sponsors of the Federal Heartbeat Bill.
That's more than any other pro-life bill that was in Congress at the time.
And 44 more legislators whose votes we had could have brought that to the floor for passage.
Why didn't we see it?
Well, we saw the rhinos in the Senate.
We saw the pro-life pretenders in Washington.
They all worked to block it.
But it's time we rise up.
We do what we're commanded to do in Proverbs 31.8, to be a voice for those appointed to die.
And we've got a way, an easy way, for people to make a significant difference on a federal heartbeat bill.
I'd love to tell you about it.
Yeah, I want to ask you a question.
Recently, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a ruling by the Tennessee Supreme Court that banned gender-affirming medical treatments.
What can you tell us about that?
Because we obviously know the fight for life has been happening, Mondo, but then also we have an entirely different fight on our hands as well, where life is being altered and changed at a very young age.
But what do you think about that, Janet?
Sure, it was a 6-3 decision, and it signals a shift.
There has been a shift.
When President Trump turned his head at that Butler rally, God spared his life, I believe, for such a time as this.
And you know what?
We saw judges that President Trump appointed, not only that overturned Roe, but now have upheld the Tennessee law that says you can't give kids puberty blockers, which really very often makes them sterile.
You can't surgically maim and dismember and mutilate children with cutting off healthy body parts.
It's absolutely insane.
It's absurd.
But if you notice, there's been a shift in the culture.
People are not gravitating to the woke, you know, crazy agenda of mutilating children anymore.
It's changed.
And it's encouraging to see that that sends a signal to every other state.
Hey, you can protect girls from boys in their sports.
You can protect children from having their bodies mutilated because they've been misled to think that God somehow made a mistake.
It's absolutely absurd.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
There are two genders, male and female.
You made them male and female.
It's all spelled out in the book.
And if we look in that book, we'll see if we follow it, we're going to see blessings in life and where to choose life so that we and our children will live.
Amen.
Mother, we need to protect our children.
I mean, your children are turning 15 here coming up in a few weeks.
What a blessing it is.
But could you imagine?
I mean, there's children of, I know there's states like California where things were happening a few years ago, and they didn't even have to notify the parents of decisions, life-altering decisions that were being made.
Stop acting like the world's supposed to hold your values.
No, it is your Christian duty to withhold and stand in the values that you have from home.
That's how we make an impact.
I don't understand, Ricky.
It's like me trying to expect a thief not to steal from me.
A thief is going to do what a thief is going to do.
They're going to steal.
Me on the other side, you protect what the thief is trying to steal.
You understand that?
So, as Christians, if we don't start learning this word, how can you even stand on the word of God?
What is it that the Barner group said a few months ago that there's Bible illiteracy going on in the church today?
How can you expect anybody to even stand on the word if they don't even know what the word is?
96% of people who call themselves Christians are illiterate to the word of God.
That was the study.
There's only a 4% literacy right now of the Word of God within our own four walls.
You know, Janet, the Associated Press, we were just talking about the issue of what happened in Tennessee and a great thing, the issue of the agenda that's being pushed.
But the Associated Press keeps calling this a setback for transgender rights.
Why is the media posing this as a setback?
Well, you answered your own question.
It's the media, right?
As President Trump likes to point out, they're made up of fake news.
They've got an agenda and they've been pushing it down people's throats.
And they're acting like they're acting like the playbook of years ago.
Guess what, though?
Because we have freedom, because we have Elon Musk, and by the way, I've been praying for his salvation constantly, that he's given us that platform on X. We've got Truth Social.
We've got your show and so many other outlets now that we can speak the truth.
You want to be on the right side of history?
I'll just tell you what, God's side is the right side of history.
I remember it wasn't that long ago.
I was back to the BC, I was center for the, was the national director of the Center for Reclaiming America, and we had a campaign issuing hope for change for those who are engaged in homosexual behavior, that there's hope for change.
And we had a picture of 850 ex-homosexuals, and we put out an ad campaign, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and in the USA Today, all over the country.
And people came and picketed.
Right at my office, they were picketing.
There were several hundred people that came and picketed.
Interestingly, I worked for Dr. D. James Kennedy at the time.
And it wasn't that long after that I was speaking to a group of ex-homosexuals and a guy came up to me.
His name is Robert.
And he said, I just want to thank you for speaking the truth because I was one of the people that picketed you.
I was one who called you a bigot and all the names you can imagine.
He goes, but because you spoke the truth, I have walked out of homosexuality.
I'm back with my wife and children.
It's been restored.
I'm living the life that God created me to live.
There are consequences for silence, and there are results of speaking up.
And I've seen both.
And so what I want to say in the same way on the issue of whether it's standing for marriage between one man and one woman, standing for God, how God made us, it's all in our instruction manual.
And I'll tell you what, I've seen results when people speak, as we've been commanded, to rescue those that are being carried away to death.
If we will be a voice for those appointed to die, as we're commanded to do in Proverbs 31, 8, guess what?
We can see results.
I remember the text that came in from the state of Florida, that there was literally thousands of children who were saved from just the Florida heartbeat bill, not to mention 14 other heartbeat laws.
But just because the Florida heartbeat law passed and was enacted, there are stadiums full of children that are alive.
What happens if we step out and say, you know what?
We're going to be a voice for truth.
We're going to speak truth.
We're going to speak life.
And we're going to speak what can be done.
I'm going to tell you what can be done.
We can see a federal heartbeat bill pass.
People say, well, you know, maybe President Trump's not so much into that.
Well, I want to say this.
You remember during the presidential debate, I think he sent us a signal.
During the debate, they questioned him.
They said, well, you're running, mate.
J.E. Vance says you would veto an abortion ban.
What was his answer?
His answer was, he didn't discuss that with me beforehand.
In other words, he didn't say, yes, I would veto a bill like that.
No, he said you didn't discuss it.
In other words, that was an unauthorized statement.
I believe that if we get H.R. 682 through Congress, with your help, we're going to see President Trump sign it into law, and we're going to see babies live and not die.
How do we know we can do it?
The Supreme Court's already overturned Roe versus Wade.
That obstacle is gone and we need to run like somebody left the gate open.
And Ms. Janet, tell them about your website and how they can go support and get in contact with you if they want to further make their voice louder.
Sure.
If you go to heartbeatbill.com or faith2action.org, f2a.org is the shortcut, you can click a button and we're going to do the work for you.
We're going to print it.
We're going to personalize it from you to every member of Congress or whoever you designate, the Supreme Court, the president, the vice president.
We're going to be able to send them a tangible printed postcard from you in the mail, and we're going to do it for less than the price of postage.
So if you want to add an additional donation to help us out, we appreciate that.
But it's a way to put your faith to action in an easy way, but an important and tangible way that could make a difference where we could see children live and not die and declare the works of the Lord and their destiny to be fulfilled on this earth.
That's what we have the ability to do.
And somebody needs to be saying it.
I just want to declare we can see children protected nationwide.
Just as I said it could happen at the state level, they laughed at me.
They said it was impossible.
Not so crazy anymore.
The Image of Almighty God 00:02:21
15 heartbeat laws later.
I want to say the same thing.
We can see the federal heartbeat bill pass.
And with your help, we're going to do it.
Janet, why do you feel or even believe that every baby deserves a chance to live?
Well, you know, it says in the Psalms, it says that we are knit together in our mother's womb.
We're fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator.
We bear the image of Almighty God.
And you know what?
He's the one that wrote with his hand in stone, thou shalt not kill.
It's pretty important to God.
He's the creator.
He's got a purpose for each child on this earth, a destiny.
Maybe it's, as we've often said, the cure for cancer or whatever it may be.
There's so many things that we have missed out on because we've killed more than 60 million children.
And I'm going to tell you something.
I believe that one of the things that we need to have is the fear of God.
That realize we can't just keep killing children and expect that God's going to bless America.
He has given us another chance.
I'm grateful that He's given us another chance as America, but I got to tell you something.
We had better use the chance we've been given.
We had better take the chance that God's given us with the overthrow of Roe versus Wade.
It's not a state's issue.
We shouldn't have life issues, life states, and death states in the same way we shouldn't have slave states and free states.
It's a federal issue because it's God-given.
We're not endowed by life by our state, by our government.
We're endowed by our Creator.
That's what our founders penned in the Declaration of Independence.
The right to life is given by God.
It cannot be taken away by the states.
And that's what the 14th Amendment reiterates.
And that's the job of Congress to enforce the 14th Amendment that says, nor shall any state deny any child, any person, of the right to life.
And that's what we're going to do with a click of a button.
We're going to jumpstart this bill.
We're going to educate people that, hey, you know what?
This is not a state's issue.
It's a God-given, inalienable, constitutionally guaranteed issue.
A constitution that you swore to uphold and remind them of what that Constitution has to say, including their job to enforce the provisions in it.
Numana Food Storage Solutions 00:03:08
So it's exciting to see we can use the freedom God's given us.
And I believe one of the best ways to do it is to stop the killing.
At least we can stop the killing, which is now once the ceiling, it's now the floor.
The minimum we can do is at least we can protect every child whose heartbeat can be detected.
Amen.
We're going to be right back to Ms. Jenna.
We have a couple more questions to ask her.
For right now, we want to show you a video from the sponsor of today's show, Numana.

Ms. Jenna, we're back with you.
I want to, again, remind people where they can go to support your initiative.
I want to know how long have you been doing this?
And Mike Monto said the show one, I believe people need to go back and watch that.
This hasn't just been a walk in the park for you.
You've faced scrutiny from both sides of the aisle, but how long have you been doing this?
And what has continued to make your passion grow each time you sign a new heartbeat bill in a new state?
Well, you know, I started in the pro-life movement, I think, in the 10th grade, when I first found out what abortion is, that the result of every single abortion is a dead child and a wounded woman.
Jumpstarting the Heartbeat Bill 00:07:59
And so from that time, I became president of Students for Life and then legislative director at Rights of Life.
And God gave me the idea for the Heartbeat Bill back in 2010.
But I saw the federal heartbeat bill, the idea to do this nationally.
We introduced it back in 2017.
So it's been in Congress for a while, but it's time to jumpstart it.
It's time to realize that all the restrictions, every single obstacle that the Supreme Court had with Roe versus Wade, it's gone.
The ability of getting it through Congress is there.
I believe that we're going to see people come out in the midterms and elect those who are pro-life, those who will be pro-liberty, and those who will stand for the Constitution.
And so what I believe is that the time is now to see hearts beating.
And we're encouraging people to go to heartbeatbill.com, PTL.tv.
You can also go to my website, Faith2Action, or the shortcut, f2a.org, and then we can send a tangible reminder of what it is that those members of Congress, the president, the vice president, even the Supreme Court, swore to uphold in the Constitution, the inalienable right to life.
And in that Constitution, they swore to uphold, says their job is to enforce it, to enforce that thou shalt not kill, that we have the God-given right to life.
It's guaranteed in that Constitution that also says that nor shall any state deprive any person of life.
That's illegal.
That's unconstitutional.
It's something that we need to remedy.
We need to rectify.
And that's something you can do in a quick, easy click of a button.
In less than a minute, you can send 546 postcards if you want.
You can send less if you want to, but we'll do it for less than the price it would cost you in postage.
You can see it on your screen.
You can send it to just the Republicans in the House, just the Republicans in the House and the Senate, or the entire Congress.
You know, those Democrats, they swore to uphold the Constitution too.
Let's remind them what it says.
Or you can just send it to the President, Vice President, Supreme Court.
Every choice, we'll send it to those options because they need to understand that the role of government, Thomas Jefferson said it, is to protect human life.
That's what we're here to do, and it's time we do it.
Amen.
Janet, since the last time you're here, we've had so many things that you've done.
You haven't just been an incredible pro-life activist.
You've also done things like sitcoms.
Tell us a little bit more about what it is that you've been up to since the last time we've interviewed you.
Sure.
You know, your network was the very first network to run our What's a Girl to Do sitcom.
I want to say thank you for that.
We ran eight episodes in the first season last year on the PTL network.
And let me know if you want to air it again.
We can work that out too.
But we've also worked on something that I've been working on for a long time.
It's a screenplay by the same name, What's a Girl to Do.
We've now got nine best screenplay awards or best writer awards on it.
We just need the funds to make it.
What is it about?
It's about how we pass the nation's first ban on partial birth abortion.
And let me tell you one, I'll just tell you one reason why I want to make this and why I want to make it now.
Cindy Jacobs, you know Cindy, she's the one that gave the prophetic word to build Lori's house.
Well, she gave me a prophetic word a while back.
About 15 years ago, she told me that this screenplay is, she said a direct quote, the tipping point to end abortion.
And I saw her back in 2016 at an inaugural event when President Trump was first elected.
And I said, hey, Cindy, do you remember when you told me that the What's the Girl to Do, the screenplay, was a tipping point to end abortion?
She said, no, that's not what I said.
I didn't say it was a tipping point.
I said it was the tipping point.
What she heard from God, and she's been known for her accuracy, is that this is going to make a difference to shift America back to life.
And that's why I want to make this movie.
It's got many of the same characters as the sitcom.
It looks like a love story.
What's the hook?
I actually, this is true, I dated the son of the woman who took over the committee and killed the bill.
Sort of like dating the son of Nancy Pelosi.
That's what it was at the state level when we passed the nation's first ban on partial birth abortion.
30 states followed us after that.
It went to the Supreme Court, not once, but twice, where we ultimately won back in 2007 to say, no, you can't pull a child three-fourths of the way out and then take a pair of scissors and suck a living, kicking, half-born baby's brains out.
We need to get back to the issue of what abortion is.
It's a way to educate people to win them back.
And at the end of the movie, I don't want to spoil it, but we come up with the idea for the Heartbeat Bill to keep hearts beating.
Congressman Steve King is in it.
We've actually already filmed that section with Governor Huckabee as well.
We just need the funds.
If people want to help us, you can go to faiththenumber2action.org or the shortcut, fthenumber2, the letter A.org.
So if somebody wants to go and help fund this, F2A.org, we're going to put that on the screen for you.
Mondo, I think it's a great thing to support.
Independent filmmaking is costly and it does require finances.
We want to make sure we can go and support Kingdom Music.
You got to tell Janet what you heard about her sitcom.
People were loving the sitcom on the PTL television network.
So you were offering to run it again.
I think we will because that was incredible.
People were loving it.
They were enjoying it.
People, obviously, within our community, but we were getting letters, emails, any form of communication they could send to us.
They were really third-party.
That is awesome.
We need to get season one back on.
We need to get a season two on there as well.
Maybe we'll be on it.
I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, there we go.
Extras, extras.
I'll be the trash guy in one of those extras.
Come film it at Morningside.
We'd love to have an off-site shoot for you.
That'll be awesome.
That's awesome.
We love you, Ms. Janet.
We appreciate everything you do, not only for the kingdom of God and for our nation, but what you are doing to help fight back against the demonic stronghold that is abortion.
You're really putting yourself out there in harm's way to ensure that children have the right to life.
I want to say thank you for that.
So tell them one more time where they can go to support you and help fund everything that it is that you're doing for our nation.
Sure, I'm going to tell you what I told over 200 members of Congress.
We're going to end abortion and you can help.
Go to heartbeatbill.com or faith or PTL.tv.
You can click the button in less than a minute.
You can send everyone in Congress from you to them, personalized, printed, and through the U.S. Postal Service for less than the price of the stamp it takes to mail it.
You can also add a donation to help us cover these costs.
But my main goal is to get the volume of postcards to be a voice for those appointed to die so that we can stop the killing for every child whose heartbeat can be heard.
And that again is heartbeatbill.com, PTL.tv.
It's great to partner with you guys.
The last time we did it, we delivered almost a million emails and half a million faxes.
And so I just knew I had to come back on and join with you all again.
Thank you for being a partner to bringing the killing to an end.
Amen.
Let's do that.
Let's do that again one more time, friends.
We need to continue to do it until there is that ban.
There is a federal law that says babies have the right to live.
I think that's important.
Remember this, friends.
Go call our number.
