Prayer and Discipleship
00:15:19
|
|
| Welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show. | |
| Today, Cindy Jacobs shares with us about strategic warfare and implementing targeted intercession. | |
| Our co-host today is Reverend Mondo de la Vega. | |
| And now, here is your host, Pastor Ricky Baker. | |
| Reverend Mondo de la Vega. | |
| I love how it's so shocking, Reverend. | |
| I always love how they're going to be. | |
| You feel like I have to behave now. | |
| I know. | |
| Mondo's going out getting speaking engagements all over the world. | |
| They mandated that he has the title. | |
| Yeah, 25 years of serving the gospel of Jesus Christ, serving under Pastor Jim Baker faithfully. | |
| I'm just the next gang member that fell in love with Jesus. | |
| Amen. | |
| That's it. | |
| Come on. | |
| And a janitor. | |
| And a janitor. | |
| And we're all janitors around here. | |
| I was taking the trash out the other day, and somebody came up to me, sweet lady, and she's like, why are you taking the trash out? | |
| And I said, why would I not be taking the trash out? | |
| And she's like, I thought we had people for that. | |
| And I was like, you're looking at him. | |
| You're looking at the guy who does that. | |
| Your answer should have been because my wife told me to. | |
| No, I was taking out the ministry trash. | |
| I was taking out the trash. | |
| Oh, the ministry. | |
| Yeah, I had like a big old buggy full of trash. | |
| I told someone, I was actually talking to someone who just joined the team, and I said, hey, if you're ever too good to take the trash out, this is not the line of work for you. | |
| This is not the right place for you to be working. | |
| If you're ever too good to take the trash out, we're called to serve. | |
| That's what we're called. | |
| Pastor 101, right? | |
| Pastor 101. | |
| Take out the trash, clean, do everything that nobody else wants to do, and still get up and preach. | |
| Amen. | |
| As long as they don't smell you. | |
| That's right. | |
| And get up and preach. | |
| You know, I feel like, you know, there used to be a lot of discipleship programs. | |
| And I know there still are, but we used to have a lot of discipleship programs that were in churches. | |
| People would join. | |
| They would spend, you know, a year, a year and a half of their life just learning how to serve, which was the beauty of it. | |
| But that's kind of faded away, Mondo. | |
| I've noticed that these larger programs, they've kind of gone away. | |
| And I understand things happen. | |
| Ministry goals change. | |
| But I've seen a reduced amount of discipleship programs, not ministry schools. | |
| I'm not talking about like Bible college. | |
| I'm talking discipleship serving programs. | |
| You know what's happened? | |
| And this is the report that I'm getting, even with the place where I was teaching Bible study yesterday. | |
| The person that was leading it told him, I'm leaving to go search for a bigger platform. | |
| And here I am with a big platform going back to the streets. | |
| Search for the smaller. | |
| Because I care about people. | |
| I want people to know Jesus the way I fell in love with him almost 27 years ago. | |
| And I believe that in order to change society, you got to start where you live. | |
| And you know what? | |
| Faith sin head on and not be afraid to preach the gospel around the world. | |
| Whether, listen, I started with 50,000 people for months after months in front of 50,000 people sharing my story. | |
| Now I don't care if it's one person, 10 people. | |
| I just want to make sure that we win one more for the kingdom of heaven. | |
| Amen. | |
| That was the goal of the cross, that not one would be lost. | |
| And if it's the goal of the cross, it should be the goal of each and every one of us when we say yes to the Holy Spirit is to ensure that not one person is lost. | |
| That person that you're reaching out to in a drive-through or at a gas station in a grocery store, that could be somebody's mother and father, somebody's sister or brother, aunt and uncle. | |
| And they are looking for them to be saved. | |
| And you could be that person who comes and plants a seed or waters the seed or sees the harvest of that seed. | |
| Never stop pouring into the kingdom of God. | |
| Never stop striving and doing the good work of Christ. | |
| Works don't get us saved. | |
| We're saved by grace through faith. | |
| And praise God that we are. | |
| But praise God, we get to do the work of Christ. | |
| I see it this way. | |
| It may correct me if I'm wrong, but it's easy to prophesy to the choir. | |
| But it's hard when you have to get in front of people that don't know about the gospel. | |
| They don't care about the gospel. | |
| And then God gives you a word to give to them. | |
| And that's what happened to me last night. | |
| Once again, God gave me a word for three bikers and they're smoking cigarettes and holding a beer and God gave me a word to prophesy into them. | |
| By the time I was finished with the prophetic word, they dropped the cigarette down, they dropped the beer down and they said, I want to know more. | |
| Come on. | |
| That's the power of the gospel. | |
| That's the power of the gospel. | |
| Exactly. | |
| And that's the power that can save. | |
| That is the power that brings salvation. | |
| And there is one name which you can go and spend eternity with God the Father, and that's the name of Jesus Christ. | |
| And praise God, we get to be in partnership, relationship, brotherhood, and we get to be sons and daughters of God Almighty, the one true living God. | |
| I want to welcome back to the Jim Baker Family Show Mike and Cindy Jacobs as we're continuing to talk about this incredible new book called Invading the Enemy's Strongholds. | |
| Mike and Cindy, thank you for being back on the broadcast with us today. | |
| God bless you. | |
| Thank you. | |
| Thank you, Ricky. | |
| We love you so much, you and Mondo. | |
| You're certainly heroes for your generation. | |
| Hey, Mo. | |
| We love the gospel of Jesus Christ. | |
| You know, I believe it was last night, Wednesday night Bible study was preaching, and I said it very clearly. | |
| You know, every one of us at one point in our life were the sinner who needed to be saved. | |
| And we need to continue to remember that those people walking down the street that don't look like you, don't sound like you, don't smell like you, don't talk like you, they are somebody who Christ died on the cross for. | |
| He wants them in his family. | |
| And it could be you that could be the catalyst that changes their life by saying, hey, I know I don't know you, but Jesus loves you. | |
| I know I don't know you, but Christ died on the cross for you. | |
| You could be the catalyst in that person's life. | |
| Miss Cindy, I've seen you prophesy. | |
| I've seen you preach the word in many different states, many different nations, many different countries. | |
| Tell me, what is it that keeps you going day in and day out? | |
| You could easily say, well, I've done enough work for the Lord. | |
| I want to put up my hat. | |
| I want to kick my shoes up. | |
| But what keeps you pressing forward to the cause of Christ every single day? | |
| Well, just what you talked about, guys. | |
| You know, God's so imprinted on my heart eternity, really. | |
| Everyone's going to face eternity. | |
| Every single person on the earth will face Jesus, you know, someday. | |
| In fact, the Bible says in Corinthians that they'll know the terror of the Lord. | |
| In other words, okay, you didn't believe in Jesus, but there you are. | |
| You're facing him. | |
| And so I think what you said is so important. | |
| Yeah. | |
| And so what keeps us going? | |
| I just say the call. | |
| The nations, you know, there are still 3.0 people who've never hurt. | |
| And I think maybe you guys have heard me say this. | |
| We've got to stop taking water to the ocean, but take it to the desert. | |
| And that's why I love this show, because your reach is so big. | |
| And so, you know, maybe you're somebody watching and you don't go yourself, but when you sow, when you stand with people, they can reach millions. | |
| You are reaching millions. | |
| And if you're praying about standing with us and becoming partners, I want you to know that you're sowing into good ground. | |
| How do I know that? | |
| I've been with this ministry for 27 years. | |
| Take that in for just a moment. | |
| Very few people of my generation can tell you they've been in one place for 27 years. | |
| That's right. | |
| Most of the time, people are looking to move where they can be promoted. | |
| People can do bigger things and get bigger pay. | |
| And I understand that. | |
| But one thing I've known is that the grass is not always greener on the other side. | |
| You got to stay where you're planted and watch God move in your life and begin to see miracles like never before. | |
| So when you have sown a seed to this ministry, I want you to know that it's been a very good ground and don't stop now. | |
| Don't stop tomorrow. | |
| Don't stop forever because we got a lot of souls to win. | |
| The Bible says this: You want to be wise? | |
| I'm going to give you the key to being a wise man, not a wise guy, but a wise man and a wise woman. | |
| I'm going to give you the key right now. | |
| It's found in the scriptures. | |
| He who winneth souls is wise. | |
| That's the key to being wise. | |
| Let's win some souls. | |
| Keep sowing a seed this month and help us continue to preach the gospel around the world. | |
| Call the number right now and stand with us: 1-888-988-1588. | |
| Amen. | |
| City, I want to ask you: could you walk us through the process of developing a targeted intercession plan for a specific issue or area in our lives and in our community? | |
| Tell them about the one that we just did. | |
| Okay, just a moment. | |
| Yeah, that's kind of on the macro. | |
| But this book, Invading the Enemy Strongholds, there's been a lot of talk about the seven mountains, our spheres of society. | |
| We're beginning to understand many places that we're responsible to pray and make disciples of nations. | |
| And so, how do you make a plan? | |
| How do you know what to pray for? | |
| That was an excellent question. | |
| Number one is know your area. | |
| What's going on? | |
| We call it spiritual mapping. | |
| It's not in the Bible, but neither are ushers or things like that. | |
| But what it does is when you study like what's going on, what's the crime rate? | |
| You know, what do your government officials believe? | |
| What's happening? | |
| What are they teaching in your school system? | |
| Are they teaching homosexuality? | |
| Are they teaching about Islam? | |
| Are they teaching about other religions? | |
| Are they taking kids as we see in America right now on field trips and making them bow down to Allah? | |
| This is being funded by people outside of America while we sleep. | |
| And so be informed. | |
| And it really is biblical to be informed. | |
| We know that historically and in the Bible, God gave a spiritual intelligence. | |
| Yes. | |
| Actually, physical intelligence about what the enemy was trying to do. | |
| Yes. | |
| And for in the case of Elisha, it protected his king from the ambushments or the ambushes of the enemy. | |
| And so it can be done. | |
| Yeah. | |
| So know, listen to the news. | |
| You know, a lot of times we don't want to hear that evil report. | |
| But the newspaper I said in Elisha was the news is a Christian's report card. | |
| For me, I actually subscribe on X. You know, we have a large X. If you want to go on Cindy Jacobs on X, I am always informing people what's going on. | |
| How do you pray? | |
| And then, so be informed. | |
| And then make your prayer report every day. | |
| What am I called of the Holy Spirit to concentrate on? | |
| Stopping the war in Ukraine, stopping World War III, what's happening economically. | |
| Pray for the President Trump. | |
| Pray for our Congress. | |
| You know, pray that, you know, take on these social issues as part of your prayer map and learn to this book talks about legislating in the heavens. | |
| Learn what you can do. | |
| You are not weak. | |
| You are not powerless. | |
| And the Bible says don't be ignorant of Satan's devices. | |
| What does that mean? | |
| Okay, when you study your area, all the aspects according to what I talk about here, different spheres of society, then you get an x-ray of what's happening in the heavens. | |
| What is the strong man doing? | |
| Look, if the Bible says there's a strong man, there's a strong man. | |
| You know, if the Bible says we wrestle, we better learn how to wrestle or we're going to be defeated. | |
| Yeah. | |
| And, you know, the next logical step sometimes after you start praying, let's say, for example, that you have, you're really concerned about what your school board's doing. | |
| And so you may go to meetings and you may voice your concerns. | |
| Why don't you run for school board? | |
| Yeah. | |
| You know, God wants to run. | |
| Absolutely. | |
| And so you may find that the thing that irritates you the most is your catalyst to take action that will put you in a position where you can have a voice. | |
| Yeah, be the answer. | |
| We'll tell you a quick story. | |
| We were approached at the inauguration of the president that the cartel leaders were assassinating pastors and their wives in Cartagena, Colombia. | |
| Whole families were being assassinated by the Mexican cartels. | |
| And so we mobilized prayer. | |
| And while we were in Cartagena, we gathered pastors from all the whole nation of Colombia. | |
| And while we were praying against the spirit of violence. | |
| Yes, the strongman of violence and all these things around the cartels, they arrested a cartel head who had been a ghost. | |
| They had been looking for him all over. | |
| He was over the whole continent of South America. | |
| It looks for a decade that they were trying to find him. | |
| They arrested him in the city where we prayed. | |
| Okay. | |
| And then now they're filling Colombia with prayer. | |
| I mean, there's parts of that nation that are no-go zones, you know, up near the border of Venezuela, the Darien Gap, you know, between Panama and them. | |
| But does your city have violent areas where nobody wants to go? | |
| We can stop this. | |
| If enough Christians pray, if we are enforcers of God's will, then we'll see the change. | |
| We've seen it happen all over the world. | |
| Well, Cindy, and because the prayer has not stopped for that, they just had the largest, the largest fentanyl in the United States. | |
| You get the benefit of this. | |
| You may be an American praying for something else, but there's a benefit that rolls back to you. | |
| That's right. | |
| We just had the largest fentanyl bust in recorded American history a couple of weeks ago, like April 22nd. | |
| Yeah. | |
| And it was the same cartel that was the one doing the murders in Cartagena. | |
| Yeah. | |
| The second thing is they captured like $1.2 billion in cash coming across the border. | |
| So our prayers are actually empowering the security, the border security. | |
| And what does that do? | |
| That stops them from being able to operate. | |
| So this is how we invade the enemy strongholds. | |
| Wow. | |
| Listen, I believe there's a word connected to what you're saying right now for Chicago. | |
| And if you're watching in Chicago, maybe you're watching from a different state, but you have a passion for Chicago and you have watched the news about the murders that have taken place in Chicago for the last 10 years. | |
| And Chicago is considered a nickname that they gave it, Chirac, Ricky. | |
| Do you know why they named it Chirac? | |
|
Praying For Chicago Seats
00:04:12
|
|
| Yeah, we've actually lost more men and women out of Chicago than I believe we've lost soldiers on the global war on terror. | |
| We have to stop this. | |
| And prayer is the one that can stop this. | |
| Ms. Cindy, get ready to pray for Chicago right now. | |
| Mike, get ready to intercede for Chicago right now. | |
| I believe the Spirit of God is on the move. | |
| Amen. | |
| And you got to move when God says move. | |
| Don't wait till tomorrow. | |
| Don't wait till next week. | |
| We got to move now and intercede for Chicago the same way they interceded for Cartagena, Colombia. | |
| I believe God is going to do a miracle in Chicago. | |
| Will you pray for Chicago right now? | |
| I will. | |
| And we have gone in and prayed various times. | |
| Looks on the ground. | |
| Yeah, we have done it. | |
| The thing is, you know, we haven't pulled out the root yet, you know, that stops it. | |
| So, Father, get the root that's allowing this violence. | |
| And, Lord, particularly that this is fueling black on black, black and white, brown and black, and these gangs. | |
| Lord, stop it in the name of Jesus. | |
| Lord, we say, bring a massive revival to the gang culture. | |
| Massive revival. | |
| You save Mondo. | |
| Lord, we pray that there will be another time like the cross of the switchblade with Nikki Cruz, where the gangs were evangelized on the streets of Chicago and turned it around to be that incredible city where we saw where we saw amazing, amazing breaks of God in revival in the past in Jesus' name. | |
| In Jesus' name, incredible. | |
| We need to continue to contend for our nation, for our states, for your city, friends, even down to your local school board. | |
| I'm going to say this: if the Lord has prompted you and the Holy Spirit has encouraged you to go and run for one of those seats, please do it. | |
| We need good, godly men and women in those seats. | |
| For a long time, we were just saying we need conservatives in those seats. | |
| But, friends, I don't think it's enough just to put a regular conservative in those seats. | |
| We need a God-fearing man and woman to occupy those seats. | |
| That's when we'll see change in the nation. | |
| Ms. Cindy Jacobs said it perfectly. | |
| We are directly responsible. | |
| Mondo, I don't know if you watch the Facebook Live I did this morning. | |
| I was saying the exact same thing, not knowing what she was going to be talking about. | |
| We're directly responsible for the temperature of our nation. | |
| And so I was saying, I take direct responsibility. | |
| If I turn on the news and I don't see something that I like, it is my responsibility to pray into it, to pray it out, to get the right people elected to actually take action against it. | |
| So I want to say thank you. | |
| You know, in your book, you talk about the legislation of heaven. | |
| How can believers discern heaven's decrees to align their prayers accordingly? | |
| That's the question I have. | |
| That's a very good question. | |
| We are God's enforces, therefore, we are God's legislature in the earth. | |
| If the will of God's going to be done, who's going to see it happen? | |
| Yeah, we are the hands and feet of Jesus. | |
| So we need you to ascertain something is wrong. | |
| And then you say, okay, in the name of Jesus, God, we ask now and we declare that it's illegal. | |
| You say, whatever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven. | |
| And so we bind and we say no. | |
| We say that will not happen. | |
| We will not continue to have that. | |
| So we declare what is illegal. | |
| You can say that this is illegal in my city. | |
| This is illegal in my town. | |
| That is illegal in my school board. | |
| And when we pray this in the name of Jesus, then what happens is it activates the angelic realm. | |
| We see that from the book of Daniel. | |
| So you're praying these prayers and the angel is going, I'm glad somebody prayed that prayer. | |
| Now I'm now commissioned. | |
| And they go to battle. | |
| This battle is real. | |
|
Power When You Need It
00:03:00
|
|
| There is a battle for the soul of the nations. | |
| And we need fighters. | |
| We need prayer warriors who are God's air force who will pray for the will of God to be done. | |
| Wow. | |
| Come on. | |
| This is a prayer for the will of God to be done. | |
| Friends, we're going to watch a quick video. | |

| Your life, your power, your way. | |
| Hey man, that's the sponsor for today's show. | |
| I want to ask you this question. | |
| How can church leaders foster a culture of intercession within their own congregation? | |
| We see a lot of churches hungry for revival. | |
|
Continuous Prayer
00:06:28
|
|
| We hold revival meetings. | |
| We have tent meetings, and I'm glad we do that and we should continue to do that. | |
| But it seems like the Holy Spirit will dwell with us during those meetings, and then we have to continuously pray back. | |
| We want our homes, our churches to be dwelling places. | |
| I believe that comes through intercession. | |
| How does a church get to that place where the church body is now a place where the Holy Spirit simply dwells, doesn't just show up? | |
| Yeah, make prayer first. | |
| And we plan for everything, but we've got to plan for prayer. | |
| Intentional prayer. | |
| Intentional prayer. | |
| And like invading the enemy strongholds, you have to know how to have targeted intercession. | |
| You are called to pastor not only your building, your members, but where you live. | |
| That's your Garden of Eden. | |
| That's your place God wants you to take care of. | |
| And so hire a prayer pastor or get one to volunteer. | |
| We have a prayer pastor here at the ministry gets in at five o'clock in the morning, starts interceding for us eight hours and mobilizes prayer teams and they pray every week for us. | |
| And so, you know, realize and pastor, what you put as a priority, your church will put as a priority. | |
| A friend of mine wrote a book, you know, prayer saturated churches. | |
| And so have targeted intercession, lead intercession. | |
| I love early morning intercession. | |
| Dr. Larry Lee was so powerful in this in the 80s. | |
| And so have people come early to pray or pray during lunch. | |
| You could have worship during lunch, you know, pray your lunch. | |
| And all of these things will be important, but make prayer a priority. | |
| Prayer changes everything. | |
| Amen. | |
| My sister for a whole year interceded in prayer and fasting for my life to the point where she walked in and she declared three powerful phrases. | |
| What if God is real? | |
| What if prayer works? | |
| What if you have a different destiny? | |
| That was the moment that my life began to shift to where I am today. | |
| So does prayer work? | |
| I am living proof that prayer works. | |
| So never give up on prayer. | |
| Pray for this nation. | |
| Pray for your family. | |
| Pray for restoration. | |
| Pray for healing. | |
| Pray for prosperity. | |
| Pray until you see the miracle come to pass. | |
| Amen. | |
| Father, we declare authority over everyone watching right now, that you will give them a boldness that they never had in their prayer, that what they speak will come to life. | |
| In the name of Jesus, we declare war on Satan. | |
| We declare war with our prayer, standing on the gap to believe for the living and not the dead. | |
| Father, restore right now in the name of Jesus, a prayer hunger like never before to see a change like we've never seen before right now in Jesus' name. | |
| In Jesus' name. | |
| You know, I have a feeling there's somebody out there right now who's been praying. | |
| You've been fasting. | |
| You've been contending for something for many, many years. | |
| Ms. Cindy, I believe you have a word for somebody right now who has just been saying, I have done everything I know to do. | |
| I've prayed. | |
| I've fasted. | |
| I haven't seen that prodigal son or daughter come home. | |
| I haven't seen the breakthrough that I've been, you know, on my knees asking the Lord for. | |
| So what do I do next? | |
| Well, first of all, don't give up. | |
| Usually the greatest assault against your emotions will happen right before they're going to change. | |
| So realize that the proportion of the battle you're in, the greater the destiny for your child. | |
| I'm convinced, like Mondo, such a big destiny that, you know, there was a greater battle for his salvation because he was going to influence so many. | |
| The same with you, Ricky, influencing so many, many people. | |
| So I want to say to you, the Lord is saying to you, it will happen if you don't quit. | |
| That's a good word. | |
| All about not quitting. | |
| Write that down. | |
| It'll happen if you don't quit. | |
| Continue to press on. | |
| We're running a marathon. | |
| While it feels like a sprint, we're dead sprinting sometimes. | |
| We're running a marathon. | |
| And we want you to cross that finish line and hear the words, well done, my good and faithful servant. | |
| Those are the most important words you will ever hear. | |
| I want you to get in a good Bible-believing church, people who preach the full word of God. | |
| Don't just pick a couple verses here and a couple verses there and make it say whatever you want. | |
| You know, somebody said the other day on the show, you can make the word of God say anything you want if you abuse it enough. | |
| We want people who preach the truth, the word of God and the word of God alone. | |
| Get in a good Bible-believing church. | |
| But once you have stepped into who you are to be, get a book like this, Mondo, that shows you how to pray targeted prayers, invading the enemy's strongholds. | |
| Mondo, we want to be doing that, not just on behalf of ourselves, but on behalf of our families who maybe don't know the Lord as well. | |
| Absolutely. | |

| Let's support. | |
| You know what? | |
| Let's support each other. | |
| Support Ms. Cindy's ministry when you order the book. | |
| You support NORI Media Group and then you support this ministry. | |
| Man, those three are powerful. | |
| And together, we're going to be able to make an impact. | |
| Call right now, 1-888-988-1588. | |
| So the book you see on the screen, when you go to the website, you'll look for that book right there, Invading the Enemy Strongholds, Targeted Intercession that Unleashes Revival, Awakening, and Reformation. | |
| And I believe we are going to see all three of those things right before the Lord comes in all of his glory ripping through those clouds. | |
| And what an amazing day that will be if you have a relationship with the Lord. | |
| Mike and City Jacobs, I want to thank you for being on the broadcast with us. | |
| God bless you. | |
| Go order this book. | |
| It's going to be one that helps shift your prayer life and point you in the right direction. | |
| Remember that God loves you. | |
| He really does. | |
| Bye-bye for today. | |
| Thank you. | |
| God bless you. | |
| We want to thank you for your prayers and support. | |
| We would not be able to be here without you. | |
