Jim Baker Family Show Live 00:03:11
Welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show.
Today, we discuss the death of Jesus on the cross and why it is important for you.
Our co-host today is Reverend Mondo de la Vega.
And now, here's your host, Pastor Ricky Baker.
Hello, friends.
You're watching the PTL Television Network.
It's an honor to have you tune in with us today.
You're watching the Jim Baker Family Show.
And Mondo, we got you here with us, Jim Baker family.
We are family.
Amen.
Amen.
No one asked me to sing.
Well, no one did.
No one did.
We love bantering back and forth.
Oh, boy.
It's one of my favorite emails.
We get emails, letters, and I actually do love all the people who handwrite letters.
It's very sweet.
We get to open them up and we read them.
And, you know, people are saying they love Mondo and they love what you're doing.
Tell people about your show.
You have a show on our television network.
You also broadcast other places as well.
And there's some new things that we were just talking about right before the show that may be coming to the, what do you call it?
The Mondo show.
The Mondo Show.
I am on.
You tripped me out.
You know, it's amazing because when God chooses to pick you out of the crowd, you better be ready.
Amen.
And one of the things that happened several years ago, I think it was 2019, I launched a Mondo show and the PTL network allowed me to be a part of the family to distribute the program.
So you can find me on the PTL network Mondays and I think Wednesdays as well, 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
YouTube.
YouTube as well, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram.
I've been noticing you're posting like every single day on Facebook.
I am.
I am.
I feel like, you know, I feel like I have a word to share.
Amen.
And a lot of times you feel, even though we do television, social media is a different animal.
But you know what?
It's not about preaching to people.
It's about just talking and having a connection with people.
And every other day I try to post something, a video or something that has changed my heart to where I am today.
So, you know, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, that's where most people live today anyways.
And they're not going to sit and watch a whole hour, let alone 30 minutes.
But what about 60 to 90 seconds?
Yes.
And give a word right there and encourage people to stand strong on their faith or even maybe bring up subject matters like the last pope, the prophecy of the last pope.
That's right.
Oh, boy.
I had over 150,000 people just come on and watch it.
And I think I had about, I think, almost.
I want to make sure my numbers are right.
Over 500 comments of people just wanting to start a conversation.
Amen.
One person wanted to fight.
That's right.
I went live on Facebook the other day and I had one viewer as Mondo.
One viewer?
Friends, if you have your Bibles, open up.
We're going to be reading out of the book of Ephesians today.
Genesis Chapter 15 00:15:31
I read out of the Christian Standard Bible.
I have a lot of people actually ask, because it doesn't really sound like other translations, but the Christian Standard Bible, the CSB, no promotion to that, just easy for me.
I like it.
I remember asking you, what are you reading?
That's right.
And you got me hooked on to that in Christian Standard Bible.
I order mine.
Yes.
That was very cheap, by the way.
It was very inexpensive.
You can go online.
Like I said, we don't have any affiliation with them, but I love the Bible.
And yeah, they're typically inexpensive.
So right here, it is Ephesians chapter 1, starting with verse 3.
It says, Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ.
For he chose us in him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in love before him.
He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of his glorious grace that he lavishes on us because of the beloved one.
Mondo, this is where it always gets so good reading this.
In Ephesians, if you are struggling and you want to know who you are in Christ and who Christ has called you to be, open up the book of Ephesians because it says right here, Mondo, in him we have redemption through his blood.
The forgiveness of our trespasses according to the riches of his grace that he richly poured out on us with all wisdom and understanding.
He made known to us the mystery of his will according to the good pleasure that he purposed in Christ as a plan for the right time to bring everything together in Christ, both things in heaven and things on earth.
Mondo, this is it right here.
In him we have also received an inheritance because we were predestined according to the plan of the one who works out everything in agreement with the purpose of his will so that we who had already put our hope in Christ might bring praise to his glory.
In him you were also sealed with the promise of the Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed.
The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance until the redemption of the possession to the praise of his glory.
Mondo, the Holy Spirit is our down payment for the inheritance.
And you know what the beautiful part of that is, is Mondo?
We didn't have to pay for that.
Jesus paid for it on the cross and then he gave us our down payment.
Before I knew about this scripture, I never believe in predestination.
I was not a believer of it and I had got into arguments about it, even debated the idea that we were predestined until I came to this scripture.
That's right.
And understand that we were predestined to be with him in him and through him.
That's right.
The goal of the cross, and I've said this many times, was that not one would be lost.
That is the entire goal of the cross.
So the Lord had a plan for every single one of us that we would accept who Christ is.
And Mondo, it is purely our free will choice to rip ourselves away from his will.
His will is that everyone would be predestined in heaven forever.
But it's our choice as, you know, people, humans, faulty individuals, to say, God, I know better than you.
I'm smarter.
I'm wiser.
I have a better plan.
My will is superior to yours.
And we remove ourselves from that.
But we see here in 1 Ephesians, it was always his plan for all of us to spend eternity with him.
Jeremiah 29, 11, right?
For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.
Amen.
The plan was always with him in him.
And I love it here.
Verse 7 says, in him.
Verse 11 says, in him.
That's right.
Verse 13 says, in him.
Amen.
Only through him.
Amen.
We're able to do things.
So outside of him, there is no existence.
That's right.
Why do you believe that it's because in him we find the predestination idea to work?
Why?
Well, because, like I said, it is very simple when it comes down to the matter of knowing that the cross was good enough to cover all iniquity and all sin and all fault and all manner of ailment, every single thing from physical to emotional to spiritual turmoil.
The cross was good enough for all of it.
So Mondo, when we see predestination, it's not a, you know, it's not a Calvinist point of view to say, well, every choice we've ever made here is no free will.
No, we believe in free will, but we believe that Christ predestined all of us.
He had a plan and a perfect will for all of us to go to heaven.
That's why it works.
It's because the cross is good and the cross is still holy and the cross still saves.
So it was predestined that Jesus will come to earth to take on our sins.
Genesis chapter 13.
It started from the beginning.
We talked about that.
You know, I preached on it a few weeks ago, but friends, it is shown in Genesis chapter 13 that Christ had a plan all along to come to earth and pay the sacrifice for our sins.
You know, we see that in Genesis chapter 15.
We were actually just talking about this the other day, Genesis chapter 13.
If you go and read it, we see Abram, he's kind of bantering with God, and he says, God, essentially, you know, I have all these things, but I don't have the thing that my heart longs for the most.
It's my son.
And the Lord says, well, look up.
Look up at the stars.
Your inheritance will be like that.
And he says, well, how could it be like that?
I don't even have the one thing that I want, and that's a son.
And the Lord said, I'm going to make a covenant with you.
I'm going to make a covenant with you.
And friends, the Lord has made a covenant with you.
And so he told Abram, go and gather all of these animals, these different animals.
And he got them and he said, now, cut them all in half other than the birds and make an aisle out of these things.
And Mondo, we see that he does that.
He follows instructions.
He takes the animals and cuts them in half and makes an aisle out of them.
And can you imagine what a bloody scene that would be that he made an aisle out of these things?
And Abraham, and you see an old covenant, how it would work is the lesser of the two beings, Mondo.
So Abram in this case, because he's talking to God, of course, he's the lesser of the two beings.
He would need to walk the aisle and recite the covenant.
So he would need to be saying what the covenant is.
And what he's saying is that if I break this covenant, may I end up like these animals, cut in half bloody, dead, you know, made an aisle of it.
It's kind of like, you know, may I end up pretty much just losing my life.
And so Abram's getting ready to walk this covenant.
He's getting ready to cut this covenant with the Lord.
And he's about to walk.
And what do we see in the word of God in Genesis chapter 13?
It says that the Lord put him into a deep sleep.
And then a flame of smoke appeared and it passed through the aisle on his behalf.
So what was happening there is a covenant was made with God and Abram.
But instead of Abram walking it and saying, I'm going to have to pay the price if I break this covenant, God knew he'd never be able to keep it.
He knew it.
Just like he knows that we don't want to sin as Christians and we don't want to ever make mistakes, but we will.
And that's why he had to go to the cross.
So we see is God coming down in a physical form, Mondo, and he walked the aisle on Abram's behalf, saying, if you mess this up, I'll pay the price for it.
And that's why the cross is still good, because we see the fulfillment of that thousands of years later, whenever we had messed up.
And God said, I already in Genesis chapter 13 gave a remedy, and I also gave my commitment that I will be the one to pay the price.
And we see that on Calvary.
There's a connection, and I think it's chapter 15 and 2, excuse me.
I've been saying 13, chapter 15.
But there's a connection in chapter 15.
And if you fast forward to Matthew, right, when Jesus was walking the aisle.
That's right.
They were saying Hosanna, Hosea.
Okay, enlighten me on that because there's a revelation from Genesis all the way up to the New Testament.
And a lot of people want to write off the Old Testament and stay in the New Testament.
But there is a footprint in Genesis 15 all the way up to the New Testament.
Connect that dot because I think it's powerful.
You will see the resurrection in a different manner.
That's right.
Right?
So explain to me and those watching the connection of the resurrection to Genesis chapter 15.
Amen.
Thanks for correcting me on that too.
Here, big brothers correct little brothers.
My brain couldn't remember Genesis.
I preached on this just a few weeks ago for Easter, and I said, I'm going to preach one of the most unorthodox Easter messages you have ever heard in your life.
It's because I said, everyone, open up to Genesis chapter 15.
And I know people were reading that and thinking, what in the world?
What does this have to do with Easter?
But we see that anytime, you know, the Bible says it very clearly, no one has seen the face of God and lived.
And we believe the word of God and every word of God.
So whenever there is an instance where someone sees God in the flesh in the Old Testament, they call it a Christophany.
They call it the ability, you know, essentially is a pre-incarnation of Christ.
And so we see the aisle is made, the aisle is made, the blood is dripping, and the covenant is made with God walking the aisle on our behalf.
We see then thousands of years later, what does the Bible say?
It says Jesus is about to enter into the city and he asks for a donkey that's never been ridden on with a colt as well.
It's Old Testament prophecy about to be fulfilled again.
We can see, and you can look it up on your computer as well, the type of animal that he rode in on was a donkey, clearly.
But the type of breed that he rode in on naturally forms a cross from the top of the donkey's head to the base of the donkey's tail and also from shoulder to shoulder.
It's a cross.
So what do we see?
We see Jesus riding in on the cross while they're saying Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna.
See, Mondo, they thought they were getting a king.
Yeah.
But they thought they were getting a king who was going to overthrow Rome.
What they didn't realize is they were getting a king, absolutely.
But they were getting a king who was going to teach them how to pick up their own cross, how to die to themselves, and how to follow him.
Well, Mondo, they didn't like that because the same people saying, Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna, five days later were saying what?
Crucify him.
Crucify.
Crucify him.
Crucify him.
Friends, in the same manner that in Genesis chapter 15, God walked the aisle to make the commitment that if we mess this covenant up, he'll pay the price.
Mondo, we see him re-walking the aisle 2,000 years later saying, now I am going to pay the price I promised you.
Where it says, if I break the covenant, may I end up like these animals?
Well, he didn't break the covenant, but he took the payment on for us.
We broke the covenant, and Mondo, he truly did end up like that.
Beaten to the point where his own mother couldn't recognize him.
Wow.
Think about this as a parent.
Think about this as a grandparent, as a parent.
You know what your child looks like.
Mondo, I feel like if there was a room of a thousand people and they quickly scanned, they said, you know, you have five seconds in a line to find your children.
You could do it easily because you know what they look like.
Beaten to the point of unrecognizability by his own mother.
He ended up truly like those animals.
Fillet, opened up.
There was bones sticking out.
I mean, it's just the most brutal death imaginable because that is what the Romans were good at.
They were good at execution.
He took on the payment.
He took on the sin and he kept his end of the deal, Mondo, so that we didn't have to pay the price.
You know, when we look at the cross, we wear it as a piece of jewelry and have it in our homes.
But that is what every single one of us should have deserved without Christ.
But he took on the payment for us.
Listen, maybe your journey is that way.
That on your way to your destination, you get betrayed.
You get spit upon.
People talk about you.
People betray you.
The people that called you a friend and celebrated you one day, and the next day, they slurred words that you didn't even recognize.
I believe that there's people that by the time they start all the way to they end up in their journey, you don't recognize them anymore.
Amen.
They go through the aisle of the same way as Jesus did.
Celebrated one moment.
Betrayed the next.
Betrayed the next moment.
You ever been there?
You ever been where you're celebrated in one moment and then the next moment, the same people that came to buy at your store is the same people that are trying to close you down.
The same people that started supporting Christian television is the same people that are trying to close it down today.
The same people that were asking for miracles is the same people that are now cursing the miracles today.
We've seen it.
Do you understand?
Do you see the pattern?
It doesn't change.
The only thing that changes in this story is the greatest covenant that was made between Jesus himself and us sinners.
Amen.
There was a moment that changed everything at the cross, Ricky.
Was a moment where he decided to say, Father, take this cup away from me.
You ever ask God to take something away from you because the thought of going through it can be overbearing?
Yeah.
The thought of going through the process of dying every single day in order to follow him can be overwhelming.
Why do you feel that Jesus had that experience?
Some people call it a human experience.
Yeah.
You know, I think it's for this reason.
You know, there's no temptation that's brought upon us that's greater than the grace of God that's given to us to overcome it.
You know, I hear people say, we'll never be tempted beyond what we can handle, and that's because God said that.
But Christ had been tempted in every way we had been tempted, yet without sin.
He understands us all the more because he took on human flesh.
Now, there's the great argument: you know, was he all God?
Was he all human?
And the answer to that is yes.
He was all God, and he was all human at the exact same time.
Well, people say, well, how could that be?
You have to be one or the other.
And my answer to that is also simple.
He's God.
He can do whatever he wants.
He's God.
And he chose, Mondo.
People realize that this was a choice that was made by Jesus Christ.
A choice that was made by him to come and fulfill this.
We see in the Garden of Gethsemane, He's saying, Lord, if there is another way for this cup to be passed.
If there's another way.
Let it be passed.
But if not, at the end of the day, your will be done, not mine.
He made it very clear.
Your will, not mine.
And the will of the Father was redemption.
And we knew redemption could only come through a good sacrifice from the high priest.
And our high priest said, I have the perfect Lamb.
You know what I see on that scripture that you just quoted is that when Jesus came, write this down.
It's going to change your life on everything.
It's when he understood the mission.
Yes.
Understanding is the problem that we're facing today in society that people don't understand the word.
People have misunderstood this word and they have been hurt by a word that they don't understand.
But when you come to the understanding, there's a revelation that takes place.
So not only he understood, but then a revelation came in order for him to be able to say, let your will be done, not my will.
And imagine if we took on that same position.
Let your will be done, Lord, not mine.
Let your will be completely overruling and overriding over even what I thought.
Jesus Died for You 00:03:00
But friends, I want you to know that Jesus died on the cross for you.
There's a video I want you to watch from your friend Pastor Jim Baker.
And it is very, very clear on the message, friends, that Jesus died on the cross for you.
Watch this.
Jesus Christ did not come to destroy you because of your sin.
No.
Jesus died on the cross to save you.
Amen.
And if you think everybody should be destroyed that's caught in a sin, where are you going to get saved?
Where will you be able to go to heaven?
That's right.
All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
I'll tell you, this is so powerful.
Here's the answer to the sin problem.
It's not banish them.
It's not fire them.
It's not kick them out.
It's, if thou shalt confess with thy mouth, the Lord Jesus shall believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Come on.
People have made fun of the church because it's narrow-minded.
I've seen evil in the church.
The church said you're not good enough.
That's not true.
Nobody's good enough.
Amen.
Nobody's good enough.
So with the heart, man believes unto righteousness when the mouth confession is made into salvation.
That's why we're so loud about Jesus.
Yes.
We confess him.
Jesus Christ is my Savior.
Yes.
You say, Jim, you did bad stuff.
I know you did.
Well, the whole world knows my sins and a lot more.
Some of you just have never been exposed.
I know.
So do you want the real deal or do you want a left-wing salvation?
Quit your job, go away, go crawl up in a corner somewhere.
Come on, how many have sinned in this room?
Raise your hand.
All right, you're all fired.
No, that's not what Jesus came to die.
This is what is so screwed up, people.
Do you get what I'm saying?
Amen.
Yes.
Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord says it right there shall be saved.
Thank you.
This is what we need.
We need a revolution of Jesus Christ.
He died on the cross.
That's why to tear the cross, they don't want the cross.
Cardio Miracle Support 00:07:15
They hate the cross.
You know, we'll be right back up to finish this broadcast for you, but I want to play a video from you for the sponsor of this show who is helping us preach the gospel around the world.
Watch this.
If you have a heart, you need nitric oxide.
Even the University of Florida called nitric oxide the spark of life in the cell.
This miracle molecule is essential for cardiovascular health, improving blood flow, lowering blood pressure, and boosting your energy.
So what it does, it's balancing the neurotransmitters.
It's increasing blood flow throughout the body.
It's protecting you from the number one killer of everybody, which is cardiovascular disease.
With Cardio Miracle, you're unlocking the potential for extraordinary health and vitality.
Again, we have to feed our brains.
And so this not only feeds the brain with the appropriate ingredients and nutrition, but also the blood flow.
You know, for instance, you out there, you know, when you stand up and you get dizzy and you feel like you want to fall, especially the older population, we have hip fractures and things.
It's because we're not getting enough of the hydration that we need.
So the water, but also the blood flow dynamics shift over time.
And so the nitric oxide helps to even that out because you're getting the nutrition you need.
And again, the nitric oxide and getting that blood flow, the pressure head of blood to your brain.
Take it before your workout, take it after your workout, and receive the benefits.
It's amazing.
Cardio Miracle is a winner and it's worth a try.
So give it a shot.

Elevate your life with the power of Cardio Miracle today.
Friends, call that number is 1-888-9-881-588 or go to jimbakershow.com.
We're also trying to push people to ptl.tv.
We're going to have everything live under ptl.tv here probably in the next few months, Mondo.
I say it's a good transition.
I found that jimbakershow.com is a lot for people to type.
And sometimes they spell the name wrong.
So ptl.tv.
Praise the Lord.tv.
So I think that's what we're going to do.
It's a good switch.
Absolutely.
People are asking us to make it shorter.
So we've heard your cries and we're going to follow through with that.
You know, and we keep hearing people, you love messages like this and you love supporting this program.
You love the products that we bring to you.
And we want to say thank you for believing in what we're doing, standing with us, ordering your product.
And if you haven't ordered your cardio miracle yet and you haven't subscribed to become a monthly member of the cardio miracle family, call us today, 1-888-988-1588.
This group of people have believed in this ministry.
They believe in your health, but they believe in us preaching the gospel around the world.
Ricky, things are changing the way people are giving today.
That's right.
The way people are supporting ministries are changing.
And we saw this change come about 15 years ago, and we decided to use products.
But even with product, affiliation with companies that love Jesus, companies that love America, companies that are making the product here in America is what's making the difference.
And every time you order a product, you're supporting this ministry.
I never want you to forget that because we are one.
The products in this ministry are one, and they're giving us the ability to make it a lot easier for you to order your product.
Where you call in, you order the product, they ship it right from their warehouse.
You don't have to wait six weeks like you used to anymore.
It's in a matter of days.
But you know, also, Ricky, what's important?
It's the monthly support from our partners.
And that is what keeps us on the air.
That is a monthly given.
Yep, it's a monthly giving that keeps us and lets us know, hey, there are those standing with us.
And as Pastor Jim Baker says, your friend is we need those people to stand with us to continue to be able to preach the gospel.
So if the Lord's put it on your heart and prompted you to stand with this ministry with monthly support, by all means, praise God.
You can call that number or you can go to the website and you can join Mondo.
We have different levels of it.
You know, people do a dollar a day, which is $30 a month.
They do $50 a month, which I think they call it the Jubilee Club.
And then they have the President's Club, $100 a month is what we do.
And friends, your support to continue to allow us to broadcast the gospel of Jesus Christ and run this 24-hour a day network where other ministers can broadcast the gospel of Jesus Christ is a huge help.
And Mondo, I know the 24-hour network is incredible.
Why?
Because it's not just us on that all the time.
It's other ministries with other pieces of the truth.
Yeah.
Yeah, they do.
And you know what?
Very rare.
What's happening today is that Christian television is changing so much and rapidly and it's accelerating in ways like we never thought before.
But when you have programmers like the Victory Hour, the Prophetic Witness, Prophetic Prophecy USA, VFI News, Know the Cause.
I mean, look up with Pastor Steve Chicolante, just to name a few.
Larry and Tiz Huck, another one.
I mean, I can go on and on.
And very rare you get to see all those into one platform.
Usually they're individually on YouTube and you can find them everywhere.
But to have a network that has a voice like the Voice of the Prophets Network, it's become very rare.
But your support is allowing us to bring in a plethora of options to bring it to the forefront so you can hear the truth.
Amen.
And the truth shall set you free, friends.
We want to make sure that you can get the Bible from different perspectives.
We want you to go and you may not agree with every single programmer that we have on the 24-hour a day network, but friends, be like a Berean in the book of Acts and go and search out the scriptures and see what the Holy Spirit speaks to you.
We want you to go and do that.
If you need prayer, you can call our line.
It's 1-888-988-1588.
Or go to our website, ptl.tv.
That's ptl.tv.
And there's a prayer request button there.
You can click that and one member of our team will love to get back with you.
But as you go throughout your day and you're watching this maybe online or you're watching this on your phone or you're at work, I don't know where people watch.
You know, some people watch in their homes and some people watch at work.
Wherever you are, never let anybody convince you otherwise.
And remember this: that God loves you.
He really does.
Bye-bye for today.
Thank you for watching.
Glory in my mission is to fulfill the great commission of Jesus Christ to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every person.
I want to thank you for standing with us and for your support.
To hear more about the last day's events, go to watchjimbakershow.com.
Remember, God loves you.
He really does.
