Prophets and Perfect Miracles 00:14:06
Hello and welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show coming to you from the village of Morningside, USA, nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains.
Join us as we look at today's news through a biblical and prophetic lens.
Our co-host today is Reverend Mondo De La Vega.
And now, live from Grace Root at Morningside, USA, here's your host, Pastor Ricky Baker.
Hello, you're watching the PTL Television Network.
We're excited you've tuned in with us today.
Mondo, you got the title of Reverend.
They call you Reverend at the beginning of every show now.
I got to live up to it now.
Be careful when someone names you because then you have to live up to that.
I know, I realize in this culture that we live in, especially in the world, people love titles, but you got to live up to the titles.
You know what I'm saying?
And even the Bible warns, you know, woe to you, preachers and teachers.
You're going to be judged more harshly.
People like to ignore that, but they love to get a title.
You know, we were talking about that the other day.
Some days I wonder how people get their titles.
Apostles, you know, reverents and all that.
Yet, in the time that we're in right now, everybody's naming themselves without being proven and going through the test.
They're self-appointed, not appointed.
Absolutely.
Listen, when you get appointed by God, you will know clearly the vision and the mission for that title.
But if you're going to self-title yourself and cannot live up to the standards of what the Bible talks about, then you're going to find yourself in a place where you're going to be in trouble.
You know, you and I were talking about this earlier before the program started.
There's a man that has appeared into the scene that everyone is going viral with it, yet it's very dangerous because the Bible calls that there will be false prophets that would arise.
Have you guys, sorry, have you guys seen this gentleman who's popping up all over the internet?
He's from the Middle East.
Do you know what country he's from?
I don't know.
We'll find out what country he's from.
He's from the Middle East region, but he is claiming to be essentially the Messiah.
He's saying, I am the, you know, I am a son of Peter.
I'm the son of Jesus Christ.
I'm the son of Muhammad.
I am, you know, by name and by birthright, essentially, essentially, he's calling himself God.
So Mondo and I were just talking about this.
They say, well, how do you feel about that?
And to be honest with you, I don't, I'm not taking him seriously just because there's nothing really to validify what he is saying.
But I told Mondo, the dangerous part about this is the fact that others like him will pop up and the church can't get laxadaisical and take them all not seriously.
Because I said to Mondo, one day somebody is going to stand up and make those outlandish claims and that person will be the Antichrist.
There will be an actual Antichrist.
But I think it's dangerous, you know, in the world we live in, you know, the world's calling him pretty much as a glorified cult leader because he has a small following.
I say small, probably a couple, you know, tens of thousands of people.
But Mondo, we're living in a world where people will stand up and they'll say, I am God, or I'm the next Jesus or I'm Jesus coming back to earth.
And it's just not true.
You see, and for me, is that danger?
Sure, because the Bible talks about even the very elect will be deceived.
But what I find more dangerous is people in the church naming themselves prophets outside of God's idea of what a prophet is.
And the church is falling into traps where they're listening to people and following people that are calling themselves Christian prophets, yet they're filled with witchcraft.
Yes, I said it.
They're filled with what the Bible says.
And you should know them by their fruits.
That's right.
Find out what type of fruit they're bearing before you start listening to them.
Find out what does the Bible call a man and a woman of God before you start signing up into their monthly letters, because you're going to find yourself in a place where you're going to be hurt.
Someone years ago told me this, when you make a wrong decision, it's going to cost you more than you can afford.
It will keep you longer than what you expected, and it's going to hurt you more than what you intended.
And that's because you're choosing to believe voices on the internet that call themselves prophets and they're putting meetings.
And listen, the meetings are dynamic, the Bible says.
They're dynamites.
And some are even, Ricky, performing some type of miracles in the name of their own titles, but the Bible calls them false prophets.
Why?
On the simple manner that they're not bearing any fruit of the spirit.
That's where it gets real.
That's right.
You know, it says here in Luke chapter 21, verse 7, teacher, they asked him, what will be, when will these things happen, excuse me, and what will be the signs of these things about to take place?
And then he said, watch out that you are not deceived.
For many will come into my name saying, I am he, which we saw this gentleman do just the other day.
And the time is near, which we saw this gentleman do as well just the other day.
But what does the word of God say?
Don't follow them.
When you hear of wars and rebellions, don't be alarmed.
Indeed, Mondo, this is where a lot of people will skip over this because it says this, Mondo.
It is necessary that these things take first place, but the end won't come right away.
The people coming up and standing up and saying, I am he, the time is near, wars, rumors of wars, tribes against tribes, ethnic groups against ethnic groups.
These are all necessity before the end comes, but the end's not going to come right away.
No.
But yet those are the warning signs that do come.
Those are the birth pains that the Bible talks about.
That's right.
You see, I trust people that don't call themselves prophets, yet they prophesy and their prophecies never change.
David Wookerson, being one of them, he warned the church.
He was more of a watchman than he was a prophet.
But this people never claim to be anything.
But when they speak, what happens?
There's a conviction that takes place in order for us to go back to the word and pay attention to the warning signs.
I believe one of the warning signs that we're missing is the false prophets that are arising in the church and they're leading people astray.
Any prophet that prophecies don't go back to the word are false prophets.
If it contradicts the word of God, you can be rest assured that that is not true.
It will not go against the word of God.
We have a more sure word, the Bible says.
You know, I actually sent Mondo a video the other day and I said, I can't believe I'm watching this right now.
I sent it to him via social media and it was a prophet and they were saying to this individual, hey, if you give, you know, I think what was the money, $1,000 or something?
$1,000.
If you give $1,000, the Lord then will let me release this prophecy to you.
Friends, that's not how it works.
Healing doesn't come with a cost.
Salvation doesn't come with a cost.
A prophetic word doesn't come with a price tag put on it.
Friends, the gift that we are given is a good and holy and free gift that we are to share.
Mondo, and I was just saying, I can't believe I'm watching this.
I was kind of baffled that it was even being taken seriously.
But Mondo, the sad part is we saw throughout the video, it was being taken seriously.
And many people gave their money so they could get a prophetic word.
And Mondo, that is not how this was ever intended to work.
Profit for prophecy, that's not a thing.
It is a free gift given to us that we are supposed to give back to the people.
If the Lord gave you the gift of healing, believer, never abuse it.
If the Lord gave you a gift to prophesy and see into people's lives and talk to them, don't abuse it for profit.
Because, Mondo, I believe that's where we are seeing it being corrupted.
Someone said the other day, strip the money away, will you still do ministry?
Amen.
Strip the money away and the fame and all that comes with it, would you still be doing ministry at the end of the day?
That's right.
And we have to be very careful because we are living in a time that even the very elect are starting to be deceived by this multitude of prophets, so-called prophets, false prophets that are authoring books, that are leading churches, that are leading movements, that are leading, you know, places of worship.
Yet we have to recognize on how to discern the time that we're in right now.
We don't claim to be perfect.
By my Lord, if I claim to be perfect, man, God will strike me dead.
That's a lie.
You know what I mean?
You understand?
Me too.
Because you have to be very careful on not switching the word.
Don't preach another gospel.
Don't change the gospel.
Don't add to the gospel.
And you adding money to, you know, in exchange for a word in exchange.
You know what heals people?
I asked my wife the other day because we went into a procedure that it was an emergency procedure.
Yes.
Unexpected procedure.
And when we came out of it, I said, do you know how and why God heals you?
And she answered the question and I said, no.
I said, what heals you is your faith.
It's not how many times you go to church and how many times you tithe and how many things you unlock heaven.
What changes everything is he always said, Jesus always said, it is because of your faith that you're healed.
That's right.
You see, your faith thermometer is what changes the outcome of your healing.
It's not how much money you have in your bank account.
It's not how much you can prophesy, jump and shout.
It's how much faith do you have to believe that he can still perform miracles.
No wonder.
I've heard you say many times that there's people that don't believe in miracles anymore.
And I've talked to quite a bit of them too.
You know, I get to be within Christian circles where they say, hey, you know, miracles stopped with the apostles.
We don't believe that healing still happened today or if it, you know, they're one-off things or they don't believe in it.
But Mondo, you can't convince me.
And I have said this many times.
One man's argument can never go against what I have seen with my own eyes.
I've seen people healed, Mondo.
I've seen people stand up out of wheelchairs.
I've seen these things happen right before my eyes.
And I realize God is good.
Healing is God's mercy.
It's his grace.
It's his goodness.
I'm telling you, friends, we need to continue to believe that God will still do what he has always done.
You know, the word of God is very clear.
It says God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
The same God in the Old Testament is the same God in the New Testament.
I know we're not under the Old Testament law anymore.
We have a new law, a better law that's, you know, not salvation through works, but it's salvation through grace and faith.
And praise God that it is, or else none of us would get in.
I say this at church many times.
If you go to church here, you couldn't work hard enough to get into heaven.
You couldn't strive enough to get into heaven.
You couldn't do enough in your own human effort to ever make the mark for heaven because the standard for heaven is perfection.
Point blank and simple.
It is absolutely perfection.
And you're not perfect.
I'm not perfect.
Mondo might be perfect.
But I'm telling you right now, there is nobody perfect in this world.
The only reason we can stand in front of the Father is because of the Son's blood.
So Mondo, what heals us, like you said, it's faith.
It's the faith that knowing that what Jesus did on the cross still can cover me today, thousands of years later, that the blood that was shed is still good to cover all my iniquities.
And I'm glad the conversations can still be had because, Mondo, a lot of people, you know, we had an experience just the other day where there was actually like a, you know, a demonic deliverance.
And praise God that there was because there was somebody set free and this thing was driven out of them.
And they said, well, what do I do now?
And we said, walk in authority and walk in faith, knowing that the Lord has set you free.
Friends, those who believe these signs will follow.
We will have these things follow us.
And, Mondo, it's important, especially in the times we live in, to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit because that's all you'll know.
You know, I believe it's Matthew chapter 7.
I'm going to make sure I quote this right, Matthew chapter 7, Mondo, where we see there are, yeah, it is Matthew chapter 7.
I'm just going to read it.
Can I read it for you?
Absolutely.
Matthew chapter 7, verse 21, it says this.
Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven.
But the one who does the will of my father in heaven, on that day, many people will say to me, Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, drive out demons in your name, and do many miracles in your name?
Then I will announce to them, I never knew you.
Depart from me, you workers of iniquity.
My translation says, depart from me, you lawbreakers.
I've had many people say, Mondo, well, then how did it work?
They drove out demons in his name.
They prophesied in his name.
They did miracles in his name.
And I've said it many times because the name of Jesus is still pure and good and righteous and holy.
And it does, you know, it might be the person that is doing the prophesying may not have a relationship with the Lord, but the person on the end might have the faith to say, yes, I believe what they're saying is true.
That's why people are going to be able to prophesy, cast out demons, do that.
But the Lord will still say, but I never actually had an intimate relationship with you.
It's because it is the faith to accept on the other end, the Lord has done these things for me.
That's why they're able to do it.
It's not by their own strength, Mondo.
It's not because these men are holier or more righteous or more called or more chosen than anybody else.
We are all given the same level playing field of equality to be able to launch forward into the gospel, to be able to launch forward into ministry.
It is, do we have the faith, Mondo, to accept what has already been paid for?
You know, men's hearts are failing them for fear.
And that's what we're seeing.
We're seeing that across the globe right now.
But friends, whenever in the book of Luke, Jesus came up and said, Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you like wheat.
Pray for Mondo's Faith 00:07:25
And in that moment, I've said it many times, the charismatic response would be, you know, then Jesus went up to heaven and cast the devil out of heaven and said, don't you dare request that of my son?
You know, that's the Pentecostal answer.
But that's not what Jesus said.
Jesus said, so I have prayed that your faith may not fail.
And when you turn again, strengthen your brothers.
Mondo, he prayed his faith wouldn't fail.
He didn't say, well, I drove the devil out of your presence.
I told him not to touch you, harass you.
It's another Job moment where he says, sure, test him, but don't take his life.
But you can test him.
And Mondo, I believe we are all in a season right now of testing.
And you may have come out of your season.
You may be going into your season.
You may be right in the middle of your season.
But as we walk through the season, I think I asked you this the other day.
I said, you know, don't necessarily pray that I get out of the situation.
Pray that my faith doesn't fail.
Pray for my faith.
Pray that my faith grows stronger in every trial that I go through, grows more resilient through every tribulation.
And I believe as Pastor Q, I was asking that.
I said, brother, don't pray I get out of these hard situations that, you know, he hears me in my office.
You know, I'll listen to worship music.
I'll cry.
I'll weep over things that, you know, we have to do and go through.
And I say, you know, don't pray that I have to exit this.
Pray my faith doesn't fail.
Pray that I'm strengthened through these things.
And I pray for you.
Friends, that you at home, you guys who send in letters, you send emails.
One of my favorite things is getting to see those letters, see those emails, get those prayer requests and pray for you.
And friends, I hope you know if you sent a letter in or you sent an email in, I'm praying that your faith doesn't fail.
We've seen letters of prodigal sons and daughters who are hooked on drugs or into prostitution or selling their bodies online or doing this and you guys are heartbroken over it.
But I'm praying, grandma, that your faith doesn't fail.
I'm praying, grandfather, that your faith doesn't fail.
Mother, father, aunt, uncle, we've received letters where you have parents on your deathbed, on their deathbed, and you're saying, well, my mom doesn't know Jesus and she's refusing to give her life to the Lord.
And I'm praying for you that your faith doesn't fail and that she comes to the Lord.
Because, friends, I believe that's what we are going to need in these last days.
It is brother and sister.
It is all of us coming together as the body of Christ, praying for each other and saying, Lord, let Brother Mondo's faith not fail in this trial he's going through.
There's a young lady.
Her son, 17 years old, left.
This kid had everything.
A house with mom and dad.
Mom and dad said, we'll give you money to go to any college you want.
He has a beautiful car.
He has everything this young man can want.
Yet one morning he left.
This lady calls me and says, what I'm going to do?
He left.
He said, we're going to pray, I said.
And we're going to fast and pray.
And we're going to stay with the word until we believe that God will bring him back.
This was last year.
I called this lady again a few days ago and I say, how are you?
She said, my son came back.
The prayers work.
His life has changed.
He had an encounter in North Carolina with Jesus.
He came back home.
He's going to work.
He's going back to school.
He's living back at home.
Don't tell me faith doesn't work.
I need you to believe today, just like you said, to believe for a miracle.
Ricky, do you ever stop and think about how much faith it takes for you and I, for mom and dad, to believe that someone is going to support the program today financially?
I sit in my office and think about it all the time.
How much faith does it take for us to stay here on the air to believe that you're going to send a check or you're going to send your support this month?
Amen.
We live by faith.
Amen.
Can I ask you this?
100% by faith.
How does it feel to live by faith?
You know, I think it is one of the most incredible things because I know, and I've said it many times.
And if you've had conversations with me and I've had people come up to me and say, well, you know, how are we going to keep moving forward with the ministry?
I said, it's God's ministry.
It's not Pastor Jim's ministry.
It's not Ricky's ministry.
It's not Mondo's ministry.
This is God's and God's alone.
If he wants it here, he'll sustain it.
If he doesn't want it here, he won't sustain it.
And either way, my faith won't be shaken.
Either way, my faith won't be, you know, my faith won't depart from Jesus Christ.
Because I realize, so Mondo, living by faith, it is, I will say this, because I realize television, you know, and people who are mega churches, pastors, they make it sound like, oh, this is an easy cakewalk.
I live by faith.
I never have any struggles.
Friends, there are times where I am lamenting.
I mean, I am sweating in my office.
I'm crying out to the Lord saying, Lord, you know, I know you did it last week, but will you do it again this week, God?
And I'm crying out.
You've probably heard, I mean, there's times where I lock my door and I hear people knock and I just, you know, I have to ignore that meeting.
It's tomorrow's problem.
That's why I say that's tomorrow's problem.
But there's times where I'm crying out to the Lord and say, Lord, I know you did it last week, but will you do it again this week?
And Mondo, there's no better place because I found that in those times of lamenting with the Lord, I've grown closer to him because I realize even in the still small voice, he always says, it's mine and you're my son and I'm going to take care of you.
So Mondo, living by faith, while it's not always easy, don't believe anyone if they say it's always easy.
You know, I'm telling you right now, maybe it's easy for them, but maybe it's not always easy for me because there's hard choices that have to be made.
But Mondo, there's no place I'd rather live because I believe if you live by faith, you're living in the will of God.
And there's no better place to be than in the will of God.
Your prayers allows us to continue in the fight.
Amen.
And I'm uplifted.
I will say that.
There are times, friends, where I'm like, I feel like there's like a burden on me and I'll express it tomorrow.
I feel like there's a huge weight on my shoulders and I'm praying and I'm praying and I feel this burden being lifted.
I know it's the Lord Jesus Christ lifting that burden because he already paid for that burden.
But Mondo, I feel the prayers of our partners.
Yes.
I feel the prayers of our family.
You know, people say, well, I feel grandma's prayer when I got in that car accident and my life was barely spared.
You know, I felt the prayers of my grandma every night praying for supernatural protection.
Mondo, I feel the partners' prayers for supernatural protection over this ministry.
Through 2020 of lawsuits and trials and things where we had lawyers on the phone with us telling us, hey, we know you guys are innocent.
We're just trying to drain you guys of finances so you guys can shut the ministry down.
Through all of those things, we're still standing here.
And I believe it is simply the grace of God and the prayers of our partners.
It has to line up with scripture.
We've been saying that for many, many, many years now.
Pastor Jim's been preaching it for what?
Two, three decades now.
It has to line up with the word.
The reason he wrote the entire, how long I was wrong?
700 pages?
At least.
At least 700 plus pages.
I mean, if you really read it, he's pouring out his heart.
But what he's saying, the general synopsis of the book is: if it doesn't line up with the word of God, don't preach it.
And if it doesn't stand on the word of God, then don't stand with it.
And friends, that's exactly where we have to be at.
We have to stand on the word of God and continue to fight the good fight.
You know, Pastor Theron, he's one of our pastors here at the church.
He also is the director of network trafficking.
He makes sure that if you can see this broadcast right now on Impact or on the PTL Telders Network, it's because Theron was clicking buttons back in his office.
Switch To 30-Minutes 00:07:17
And man, does that man click buttons back in his office?
I wouldn't want to have his job.
He's got a hard job.
But I just want to pre-warn people, Mondo, for impact.
We're actually switching all of our programming.
And it's primarily because of everything that's happened, but also because it's really helpful for Pastor Jim.
We're switching to 30-minute programs.
If you've seen here in the show, we're switching 30 minutes at a time instead of an hour.
It's difficult for Pastor Jim to sit up here for an entire hour, hours on end to continue to broadcast.
So we're going to 30-minute programs, which, friends, that's a good thing.
A lot of people say, well, that doesn't sound good, but that allows us actually to go back and re-get back on programs and networks that we were on before.
So, Mondo, that's what we're exactly what we're pursuing right now: getting back on those programs, getting the distribution back, and also getting in major, what is it, major channels across the United States as well in big cities.
So, listen, we need your support today.
Join us on this miracle journey that we're in right now to believe that God is going to do it again.
Listen, call the number today: 1-888-988-1588, or go to the website and donate today.
Let's go on an adventure.
Let's change the world.
Amen.
It's not over yet.
We're still here.
It looks a lot different, but I want to tell you something.
Your friend Jim Baker is one of those guys that never gives up.
Amen.
Never, never, never gives up.
And we have been taught never, never, never to give up.
That's right.
So, call the number today.
Stand with us.
Let's preach the gospel together.
Amen.
Amen.
I actually had Pastor Theron.
I don't think he's over there.
Pastor Theron started off this whole entire campaign.
I don't know if you have it, but he was saying, you know what, right before the show, he was talking to us the other day and he said, you know what?
I think I'm going to give an offering into this.
I'm going to be the first person to sow a seed.
And he called it a release offering.
And I appreciate that because what he did was started a compound.
I don't know if you have a microphone or not.
What he did was he started a compound thing where even Ben Broadwater, our producer, and Cole, one of our audio people, they were all giving into this and people in the studio audience.
But what that did, Mondo, was it started a chain reaction, which I believe is going to continue on of people supporting this program.
I knew this was a moment of God when Cole Ventura, Theron's son, donated, and that spoke volumes into my heart.
Amen.
And I want to tell you something.
I know you can do $1,000 today while we're talking.
Call the number and say, you know what?
I want to stand with you two gentlemen.
I want to stand with your father, Jim Baker.
Let's keep this program on the air.
Call the number as we're talking: 1-888-98.
1-888-988-1588.
Amen.
There, I want to ask you, why did you feel like the Lord put that on your heart?
Because you actually came up to me and shared it with me.
Well, we've invested our lives into the gospel going across the airwaves.
Amen.
And I'll tell you one quick story.
It's my favorite story.
We do closed captioning for the hearing impaired.
Federal communications requires for the disabled to be able to read the words if they can't hear it.
Yes.
We upgraded that from about 60% from live typing to 100%.
Yes.
Hundreds of people were calling in, writing notes, thank you cards about how much it meant.
And I'm thinking that's a fraction of the people on the other side of the cameras.
And the message we've been giving out for all these years is this Bible, which so many people aren't giving out.
And we may be the Philadelphia church, the last voice, the last door that Jesus keeps open to the whole world, not just to the cities, I mean to the whole world that broadcasts the gospel.
And I know we've invested our lives and time and energy.
And there's so many people here.
We all know we're working at ministry wages.
And you know what that means?
Amen.
It means ministry wages.
Anybody knows what that means?
It means you purposely go, I'm going to work at ministry wages and serve.
And all of us are doing three, four jobs at a time now.
We went from 150-plus people down to a handful in the 20s.
If that, I don't even know if we're in the 20s anymore.
I mean, and we're in loyal, faithful people have stood on this wall to make sure that you get this gospel on the other side of the cameras as long as we can, as much as we can bring till the last trumpet sounds.
And here's a $1,000 check.
Amen.
Wow.
This is the one with Pastor Jim the other day.
Thank you.
And I'm going to write another $200 check here and give it to you before we go.
Amen.
And I would like people to partner.
Pastor Jim's favorite scripture, the one that he really built everything on, is where two or three are gathered together in my name, Jesus says, there, the Father will see and answer that according to his will.
I think I paraphrased five versions of the Bible, but when we've worked together, Ricky and I are working together, Mondo and I are working together.
This whole team and out there, you've worked together so many years to pair.
And this offering and these offerings that we continue to give, I will say this, and I'll get out of here.
But if you can be a regular monthly person, I know these big, we need big numbers right now to get out of the well, to unclog the well.
It's a monthly partnership.
Yeah.
Amen.
Amen.
If you can do the monthly partnership or a big gift, and hey, we're not opposed to selling tractors, boats, RVs, buildings, houses.
Pastor Jim did a PTL.
Amen.
Well, Mondo, it's our monthly partnership.
It's true.
I love you, Theron.
It's our monthly partnership that really allows us to continue to know that, hey, we're going to keep going this direction.
It lets us have like a baseline.
So I appreciate it.
And Theron, I want to say thank you for doing that.
What a blessing that was.
Amen.
And Mondo, that's what it is.
It's faith.
It's starting off with a little mustard teeth of faith and continuing on and moving forward.
And I know that God, like I said, it's his and he'll sustain it.
Absolutely.
Listen, do it today before we leave and after we leave.
Call the number today, 1-888-988-1588.
Stand with us.
I'm not going to get tired of telling you this.
Let's preach the gospel of Jesus Christ together.
You get the rewards.
You put us to work.
How about that?
Amen.
Amen.
Friends, call that number.
It's 1-888-988-1588 or go to our website, jimbakershow.com.
Or we're transitioning, Mondo, now, to our new website.
It's going to be more efficient.
It's all going to be in one place: ptl.tv.
I love it.
Friends, I want to say thank you for supporting the broadcast and the gospel going forward.
I know that Matthew 24:14 says that this good news of the gospel will be proclaimed as a testimony to all nations, and then the end shall come.
We have a mandate that's been given to us to preach this good news of Jesus Christ to everybody who will hear and listen.
And then Jesus Christ is going to return.
Friends, I want you to remember this as you go about your day: that God loves you.
He really does.
Bye-bye for today.
Thank you so much.
Thank you for standing with us and supporting and giving during this time.
Amen.
We want to thank you for your prayers and support.
We would not be able to be here without you.
If you want to see more from us and our family, go to watch JimBakershow.com.
And as my dad always says, remember, God loves you.
