Time Text
Hello, Jacqueline 00:03:45
Hello and welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show, coming to you from the village of Morningside, USA, nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains.
Today, our special guest is an author, Bible teacher, and founder of Yashad Bible Center, Dr. Egal Gibbon.
Our co-host today is Mondo Televiga.
And now, live from Gray Street at Morningside, USA, here's your host, Pastor Ricky Baker.
Hello, you're watching the PTL Television Network, friends.
It's an honor to have you here with us.
We have with us right now Luke Baker.
Luke, can you say hello?
Hello?
No.
Jacqueline, can you say hello?
Hello.
Hello.
They wanted to start the show off this morning.
I said, hey, it's about to be showtime.
I ran over there to the side of the stage and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
And she said, can I start the show with you?
And it's hard to say no to him.
So he's breathing heavy on the mic.
Jacqueline wants to do something for you guys.
I think we're going to let her.
Luke, can you sing it with her?
Jacqueline wants to sing a song.
Will you sing?
Lean over into the mic and sing it with her.
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
That's he?
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
That's so cute.
The joy of the Lord's my strength.
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
He fills my lungs with laughter.
He fills my lungs with laughter.
He fills my lunch with laughter.
The joy of the day is my strength.
Good job, Jacqueline.
Hey, we love our kids here.
I'm going to send them off to mom over there.
Got it.
Here, mom's going to come pick them up in the awesome market.
So good.
Hey, she sang it last night at church, too.
Mom and dad.
Got your wish.
One of the grandkids is singing.
And you know what?
That is the joy of the Lord.
And that's better singing than I ever did.
He left his skateboard here.
It just went off the set and he left his tiny little skateboard here.
So it'll stay with me for the rest of the show.
So, you know, it's good to be reminded.
Last night at church, we were singing songs and they sing old hymns at a service and they go through a college course actually, curriculum.
It's a really, really awesome curriculum here at Morningside.
If you're here ever on a Wednesday night, come join us.
We have food, fellowship, the word.
We sing some old hymns.
But they sang the joy of the Lord is our strength.
And they didn't get to the second verse.
So Jacqueline goes up and tugs on the guy who's speaking.
She goes, hey, can we sing that song again?
And she sang it.
She sang it what she thought was correctly.
So she sang it.
I got a video of it last night.
It was very cute.
Keep you accountable.
Yeah, but you know what?
I realize a lot of the times is we turn the Bible into these like really cutesy Bible stories for kids and we sing them songs, you know, before they go to bed and we sing them on Sunday mornings.
But if you actually listen to these words, these joyful hymns we're singing to these kids, it could be applied to our lives every single day.
Absolutely.
I mean, imagine what our life would look like if every day we woke up and we said, oh, the joy of the Lord is my strength.
And he fills my lungs with laughter.
No matter the circumstances, no matter the anxieties and the depressions, if we say, the Lord is my strength, the joy of the Lord is my strength, and he fills my lungs with laughter.
You know, I'm reminded of this message from Pastor Jim Baker about not being anxious for anything.
Amanda, whenever the joy of the Lord is your strength, whenever he's filling your lungs with laughter, anxieties can come and try to attach themselves from you.
But you realize I have the Lord and he is my shield.
Friends, this is a message from your friend, Pastor Jim Baker.
I want you to watch this.
Really pay attention.
He's talking about not being anxious for anything.
Do Not Worry 00:03:52
Take a look at this.
But life is getting so crazy that we don't focus on God.
If it's in the Bible, it is written.
The trouble with people, you know, I try to tell them there is a disease from the animals that will kill one-fourth of the world's population.
And they'll say, oh, that's that's fantasy.
That's just something in the Bible.
Everything in the Bible is either taking place or it's going to take place.
But the Bible says, do not worry.
Isn't that good?
Yes.
You know, if you die and you're a Christian, you don't need to worry because you just go to be with Jesus and you're going to heaven.
You've got to a place like nobody knows on this earth.
I'll tell you that.
So don't be anxious about tomorrow, the Bible says in Matthew 6, 34.
Don't be anxious.
God will take care of your tomorrow too.
This is from the living Bible.
It says, live one day at a time.
But the Lord's coming soon.
Don't worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything that you need.
That's what the word says in Philippians 4, verse 5 through 7.
You ought to read that whole thing.
Keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
For the very hairs of your head is numbered, the Bible says.
So fear not, therefore.
Don't be afraid.
Don't worry, Isaiah 44, 8 says.
Worry is a heavy load, it says in Proverbs.
But a kind word cheers you up.
Amen.
So we're to trust God during this time.
Yes.
It says there, Proverbs 12, 25 says, worry is a heavy load, but a kind word cheers you up.
I need a kind word today.
Just give me a kind word.
You know, sometimes in life, that's really what people need.
I've been in interactions, I know you have as well, where, you know, you want to look at somebody who looks despairing and they look sad, they're depressed, and you want to go up and try to figure out, at least as a man, how can I help fix their problem?
But sometimes what they need is a kind word.
That's it.
A word of encouragement.
And that's what we're supposed to do in the body of Christ.
Listening, it's a kind gesture.
Amen.
I need to get better at that too.
It talks about learning how to listen and not so be quick to speak.
Amen.
And we are living in a generation that everyone is quick to speak and everybody's trying to rob your time and they want to give you their word.
And yet very few people are understanding the skill of listening.
That's right.
I think if we did more listening, we will have less arguments.
That's right.
Oh, man.
You ought to write that down.
Do more listening because in the listening, God will speak to you on how to respond to the activity around you.
There's people that pressure me constantly.
And you know this because everybody wants to be on the show.
Everybody wants to get their book.
If I go to the supermarket, I got a book.
If I go speak, I got a book.
That's true.
And it's like the overwhelming sensation of everyone trying to get their voice out there without understanding what the process is behind it.
And sometimes I'm looking for a word, but the word is in the mess.
You know, I got this old saying I used to tell dad that you will find your message in the mess.
And the mess that you're in right now has your message.
And God is going to deliver you through the process of listening.
Big Questions at Readynowexpo 00:05:20
And don't be anxious.
You used to, I remember this years ago.
Dad would say, trust, delight, and commit.
And as you started growing up, you know, your voice started getting louder.
And you said, yeah, but what about rest?
That's right.
It's the end of the verse.
Finish the verse.
Anytime I preach, anytime I go anywhere, people, if you don't love the word of God, don't come listen to me preach.
Because if I'm going to read one passage, I'll read the whole chapter before I read the whole chapter afterwards just to make sure we understand the context.
But trust, delight, commit, and rest, friend.
It's important that you understand the process of rest.
And sometimes rest is getting poured into.
You know, we have a conference coming up, and this is an event where people are going to be getting poured into an incredible amount of knowledge, an incredible amount of guest speakers we have.
Oh, they just put it up on the screen.
It's AI or Aliens, AI, and the Antichrist.
We're going to be answering some very, very big questions.
But there's some guests right there, Mondo, that have confirmed and some incredible voices like Ellie Marzuli.
Who else do we have coming?
Alan Didio, Bishop Alan Didio, Joe Horn, which is Tom Horn's son.
This is his first time coming and really making his debut at PTL.
He'll be doing it here.
We have Dave Robbins coming, Vicki Joy Anderson, Carl Gallops.
We have Dr. Dennis Lindsay also has confirmed.
Derek and Sharon Gilbert has confirmed.
Donna Howell confirmed.
And we have a bunch more that we're waiting on a yes or a no from.
But Mondo, we have a powerhouse with the people who have simply said yes so far.
That's April 10th through 12th.
It's free.
If you're here at Morningside, completely free, so you can watch it.
Readynowexpo.com.
I have to make the good announcement that you can go now and get the early bird registration for the online watching as of today.
So then go to the website right now, readynowexpo.com and sign up.
And I want to tell you something.
The number one question that is developing right now is: what does the future look like with artificial intelligence?
Yes.
How is it going to affect you, your everyday process of life?
Even your work environment, even your church environment will be affected through artificial intelligence.
But the key is this: fear not.
Amen.
Write it down.
The Bible says, fear not.
All these changes may come, but the one steady thing that we have, the consistent word of the Lord, is what gives us the peace to understand that any changes that come about, we will be ready.
But the Bible also warns us that if we don't have the knowledge, that people will be easily deceived.
That's right.
Absolutely.
You'll be easily deceived.
That's why we want to present you with the knowledge, friends.
We're not saying you'll agree with everything that comes across this platform or all the guests, but friends, we want to provide you the education so that you at home can make an educated decision.
We want to bring people who line up with the word of God and all different types of perspectives.
And that's why we're doing this conference: Aliens, AI, and the Antichrist.
We're going to be answering some of the big questions like, is this the final frontier for humanity?
And each one of these men is going to bring an incredible insight.
April 10th through the 12th, go to readynowexpo.com.
We're about to announce a bunch of more guest speakers as well.
And this is going to be a power pass and three-day event.
And I'm trying to get Ricky to give you to get ready for a special event that can happen here at Morningside.
Oh, yes.
Of a special dedication that we want you to be a part of it.
I'm not going to spoil the event by telling you about it.
You're going to have to show up.
Something amazing is happening here at Morningside.
And I want to tell you something.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you for praying for this ministry, for praying for mom and dad.
You know, as he's getting older, he's seeking more rest.
But in the resting, he's listening to God.
And then he comes and calls us and says, I need to be on the show to deliver a word.
Amen.
In the meantime, God is using Ricky and I to continue to move forward.
But I can tell you, make plans to be here.
There's going to be a special event that you're not going to want to miss.
Yeah, the last day of the event, we're going to be holding a banquet.
And at this banquet, we're going to have some ribbon-cutting news.
I mean, we might actually get some ribbon and some big scissors we have in the back and cut some ribbon because this is going to be one of the most exciting things that has ever happened here at Morningside.
We walked through the process yesterday.
And I'm not going to lie, I felt an anointing that I've never experienced.
And I've been in that place hundreds of times.
Amen.
I was part of, you know, helping, you know, reshape and rebuild and all this, but I didn't feel the anointing as I did yesterday walking it with you and your wife and the kids.
And I said, this is it.
Amen.
This is the beginning of the vision that mom saw that thousands of people will be in this building.
Angels were sitting there.
And as you're looking out to this window, through this window, you can almost see the presence of the Lord hovering in this vicinity, in this area.
And I want to tell you something.
If you are hungry for God, if you want to be in the presence of God, make room for him.
Amen.
He'll show up.
Amen.
So, friends, that's going to be the last night of the event.
We're going to hold a banquet.
We're going to do a big ribbon cutting.
And this is going to be something you're not going to want to miss.
That's if you're here in person.
We want to invite you down there.
A Blessing for Israel 00:15:47
And this is going to be some very, very big news.
Friends, we're excited.
You know, we have a special guest on our broadcast today.
It's the mighty man of God.
We have read some of his works.
I've actually watched him on Skywatch TV with Derek and Sharon Gilbert before.
And then we also have a book we're going to be talking about.
But today, and Doctor, forgive me if I pronounce your name wrong.
I want you to correct me if I do it.
We have Dr. Egal Germain.
Did I say that correctly?
Yes.
Good morning, friends.
It's so good to meet you, Ricky and Mondo.
It's such a blessing.
Amen.
If you don't know who he is, he's a professor of Old Testament studies and a messianic Jewish apologist.
His expertise includes the following areas, like Old Testament, the New Testament and its Jewish context, biblical and modern Hebrew, and the history of biblical interpretation and counter-cult apologetics.
Wow.
I'm telling you right now, this is the man we need on the broadcast.
Wow, if I can have just one of those titles, I look smart.
I'm just trying to get one of those expertises.
Doctor, I want to ask you this question.
Tell us a little bit about your background.
How did you get into studying all these different things and why did you become an apologist?
Yeah, thank you so much.
I'm so privileged and blessed to be on your show.
Thank you, brothers.
I was really encouraged by the word that you shared this morning.
And to show just a little bit about my background, so I'm an Israeli messianic Jewish believer.
I came to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, or his Hebrew name is Yeshua HaMashiach in Israel.
The Lord brought me out of traditional Judaism.
And then when I was a teenager, I grew up with my parents.
And we were attending the local Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall in the city of Haifa.
And the Lord mercifully rescued us from that cult and brought us to the knowledge of the Lord, Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ.
And it was a real passion in my heart to be a biblical scholar, to study God's word diligently, to share scripture, to teach, to learn, and to defend the biblical truth against all kinds of false doctrines, heresies that are just so rampant even in the body of Christ today.
So it's a real blessing to be here.
I'm a biblical scholar.
As you said, I specialize in Hebrew Bible studies, everything related to scripture, Old Testament, New Testament, biblical languages, Semitic languages, biblical history, and apologetics.
And I'm so blessed to be here.
I earned my doctorate in theology with expertise in Hebrew Bible at Wycliffe College, University of Toronto, Toronto School of Theology.
And I live in the city of Chicago, where I run a couple of different ministries.
And it's such a blessing to be with you here, guys, and just to share a little bit about the vision and the calling that the Lord poured on my heart.
Amen.
What an incredible background, Mondo.
I mean, he went from being a practicing Jewish man to then going into the Jehovah's Witness and then pulled out of that, as he said.
Now he's a Messianic Jewish believer.
What an incredible.
I mean, he's been there and done that, but he also, you have the knowledge to back it up.
Doctor, I want to thank you for being on the broadcast with us today because you were going to bring some incredible insight.
But we want to ask you something.
You had something you wanted to ask him right off the jump, too, but I'm going to jump in and go with it if you want to.
I'm following your lead.
On a spiritual and biblical level, what is your insight on the state of Israel today in 2025?
Yeah, it's a very important question.
And I would say that I'm not a politician nor a son of a politician, but biblically speaking, I see that what is going on in the modern state of Israel is definitely a sign from God.
It's a sign of the end times in which we live.
I believe that according to scripture, we live in the days before the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
And the modern state of Israel is a supernatural sign that God hasn't finished with his people, with the Jewish nation, that God still cares for the Jewish people.
And the modern state of Israel, we do understand that it's not identical or equivalent to biblical Israel in terms of the biblical theocracy in the Hebrew scriptures.
But we do know and realize, friends, that the modern state of Israel is definitely an eschatological sign.
It's a precursor that actually means that many more events will unfold with respect to God's plan on planet Earth.
So the modern state of Israel today is an example of God's providence, of his sovereign will in our world.
I believe that the modern state of Israel is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
And although it's run by secular government, I do believe that the modern state of Israel plays an important role on God's timeline.
And from a prophetic perspective, brothers Ricky and Mondo, I would say that the modern state of Israel is a clear example of God working in the hearts of the Jewish people, bringing them to the Messiah, to Jesus Christ, to Yeshua of Nazareth.
And there is a revival going on in Israel.
I don't think that many American Christians are aware of this wonderful spiritual reality.
And despite the challenges and the difficulties, the wars, the tragedies, all that is going on in the state of Israel, I believe that God is sovereign.
His eyes are on the city of Jerusalem.
And we are, as believers, both Jewish believers and Gentiles, we are called to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
We are to seek God to intercede for God's people.
That is really where my heart is, and that's one of the focuses of my ministry.
So I believe, friends, that we need to advocate for Israel.
We need to stand against anti-Semitism.
We need to stand against all kinds of supersessionist theologies or known as replacement theologies.
So there are so many topics to unpack and to share with you, brothers, but really, I think it's a critical time in which we live.
And we must be on guard.
We must be on guard spiritually, prophetically.
Stand for the Jewish people.
Pray to the Lord for his wisdom and direction.
Seek the peace of Jerusalem.
You know, as we watch Israel in the news, there's headline after headline every single day.
You can spend almost hours just going through the headlines, yet not realizing the fact that Israel is a nation is a miracle.
Amen.
The fact that the Jewish people are there and the children are playing in the land is a miracle.
You almost forget what a miracle it is to even be talking about Israel in this modern day.
Yet we get caught up in all this circle of motions of other nations and the hate towards Israel and the anti-Semitism.
Yet you almost have to stop for a moment and realize that there is a God because there is an Israel.
I have to ask you this.
What do you believe President Trump should do to help Israel more, especially in the time that we're in right now, where Israel is fighting what they call seven-front war?
What should the president do to help Israel?
Yeah, it's a great question.
So I would say that President Trump and the fact that he's back with the presidential office, I think it's a miracle as well.
And I believe that it's a time that God is giving.
It's a window.
It's a prophetic time, a window from the Lord for the United States of America to show their solidarity with the Jewish people worldwide and with the modern state of Israel.
With Donald Trump coming back to presidency, I think it's a sign from the Lord of his favor, of his grace, of his mercy.
And politically speaking, it's, of course, it's important for Donald Trump and the president, the White House and the government to continue to support Israel on all levels, to support Israel, strengthening their alliance, providing arms, continue to maintain pressure on enemies like Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria.
It's important to strengthen Israel on the political forefront as well.
So speaking biblically, giving a biblical perspective on the current situation in America, I would say that I see this as a great sign from the Lord, as well as understanding that the Abraham Accords will further benefit Israel as the Trump administration works to establish new Middle Eastern alliances.
So overall, we need to stand with Donald Trump.
We need to stand with Israel.
And what is so important, dear brothers, is the fact that it's important to educate.
It's important to educate the American Christians about the Jewish people, give them a biblical perspective, a healthy, balanced, scholarly perspective of what is going on.
It doesn't mean that we need to endorse all modern Israeli policies or politics.
They're also human, they're fable, they're making mistakes, like every one of us.
But at the same time, we need to have a prophetic, biblical perspective on the Jewish people and the modern state of Israel.
And I'm so happy that I can share those few thoughts with you here so we can really grow in our understanding and gain a biblical worldview in our beliefs and practices as the followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
You know, Doctor, the name of your ministry is International Biblical Apologetics Association.
Now, I want you to kind of tell us what that is.
How can someone get involved in that?
You know, how does someone become an apologist under your ministry?
Oh, yes, thank you very much.
So the International Biblical Apologetics Association is a grassroots ministry based in Chicagoland, the state of Illinois.
And this is a unique ministry.
This is a multilingual apologetics ministry.
We run this ministry in three languages, in English, Hebrew, and Russian.
I speak in those languages.
And this is a unique ministry where we defend the faith against all kinds of false doctrines.
We defend the faith with reason and evidence.
This is a messianic Jewish apologetics ministry.
So in this ministry, we help believers to defend their faith practically.
We give them the tools and the knowledge, the training they need to go and preach the gospel with confidence to Jews, to Muslims, to Mormons, to Jehovah's Witnesses, to Seventh-day Adventists, and all kinds of people who are in spiritual deception.
So the IBA is focusing on the clear teaching of scripture.
We are really Bible-based from a Messianic Jewish Israeli perspective.
And this teaching is needed, dear brothers.
It's so needed today.
We need to stand for the truth.
We need to stand for God's word.
So we advocate for Israel.
We reach out to non-believers.
We educate believers.
We train them.
We provide various resources like articles, books, videos, as well as online Bible courses that I run through another ministry of mine, the Yesod Bible Center.
The Hebrew word Yesod means foundation.
So those are important ministries that really are, the focus is really to equip the saints, equip the saints, bless the body of Christ with tools and knowledge, and also bridge between biblical scholarship and the believers today.
It doesn't mean that we all have to be apologists professionally or theologians, but we're all called to give account for the hope which is in us.
1 Peter 3.15, right?
And the word apologetics is a Greek word, which actually means to defend.
So we know that Jesus Christ and the apostles, they were all faithful faith defenders.
And I believe we're all called to do so in this hour.
We need to stand for the truth.
We are not to compromise our biblical convictions in our secular society.
We need to restore the Judeo-Christian values in America.
And that's one of the important reasons for establishing this apologetics ministry, the International Biblical Apologetics Association.
The website of this ministry is bibleapologist.org.
Bibleapologist.org.
We have a YouTube channel.
We have social media.
And I invite you, friends, to become partners in this ministry, to join this ministry.
And you can always get in touch with me.
So I'm very excited to share this with you.
And all of this is to the glory of God and to the promotion of the gospel, the work of the kingdom.
Amen.
I just found your website while you were talking.
Bibleapologist.org.
I went on.
I want you guys to go pull up on your phone.
It's super simple.
What I love, Mono, is I click the apologetics declaration.
So you can sign this declaration.
You can correct me if I'm wrong, Doctor, but you can sign this declaration.
What I love right here is there's a preamble, but then there's the, you know, the objectives of the declaration.
I just want to read to you, Mondo, the outline of the fundamental tenets of biblical faith that you're going to be signing when you sign this.
It says, the Bible, the 66 books of the Bible, are the only inerrant and infallible word of God.
And there's a scripture to back that up.
It's much more than that.
You can see.
I'm just going to read the key points.
Number two, the unity of God.
The Lord God of Israel, Yahweh, is one and the Father, the Son, Jesus Christ, Yeshua, HaMashiach, and the Holy Spirit.
I love that.
Jesus Christ, the person of Jesus Christ, has two essences, divine and human.
And then there's scriptures to back all of that up.
Salvation, conversion begins being born again, an essential element to salvation, which includes repentance.
I love that as well.
In Israel and the church, God is still actively working both with historical Israel and the church, both Jews and non-Jews.
The Jewish people are still God's chosen people, loved by God, and at the end of the age, all of Israel will see the crucified Jesus Christ, will repent and recognize him as their Messiah.
And there's some other things, you know, emphasis on the most common theological and practical misconceptions in temporary evangelical and messianic circles, and then promoting spiritual unity amongst believers based on a biblical doctrine.
See Unity in the Body 00:05:10
And so, you're going to be signing this, friends.
I encourage you to go to this website, read over all of this, and see if it's something that you want to be a part of.
It's the IBAA Declaration.
My, I'm reading through this right now, and you know, obviously, I'm just doing a quick scrub.
There's nothing I can't see that isn't right because it's all lining back up to the word of God.
Here, you also see some resources, like you said, there's videos, articles, newsletters, there's different books, which one we're going to be referring to today that you highly recommend.
This is a very well-put-together website, and I think we need more Christian apologists.
I want to say thank you, Doctor, for putting something like this together.
I encourage you: it's bibleapologist.org.
We'll put it up on the screen.
Go read over all the material.
And if the Lord prompts you, the Holy Spirit prompts you, go sign that apologetics declaration.
Friends, be the first apologist in your family, be the first apologist in your city, maybe in your church.
Go out there and be able to give an account and defend the word of God.
It's important in these days.
I want to ask you this, Doctor.
Why is apologetics so important for the church today?
And how should Christians be more involved in reaching out?
Yes, excellent question.
So, I would say that apologetics is critical for the body of Christ today.
We see a rise, a real rise in all kinds of false doctrines, different cults.
We see a rise in the occult as well.
So, it's so important for us, dear friends, to be equipped with knowledge and tools to defend the faith, but not only to defend what we believe, but also being able to go out and share God's word with boldness,
with reasoning, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and see a great harvest of souls coming out of the new age, coming out of cults, people who were Jew haters, Israel haters, coming to love the Lord, coming to love the Jewish people, see unity in the body of Christ.
Even in the Messianic Jewish movement, we don't always see the unity and theological soundness.
So, this ministry, the International Biblical Apologetics Association, is not only targeting people who are in complete spiritual deception, but also those who have questions, who have doubts.
And in this ministry, we provide answers to tough biblical questions ranging from the Hebrew Bible, the books of the Torah, the prophets, the writings, anything that has to do with Second Temple Judaism, unpacking amazing mysteries from the Dead Sea Scrolls, ancient Jewish rabbinic sources.
The use of Hebrew language is so important, friends.
And also, understanding the Jewish roots of the Christian faith.
There are some preachers who actually tell you today that we need to unhinge from the Old Testament, that we need to unhitch from the Hebrew Bible, that it's not really so important.
But we go back to scripture, we go back to the teachings of Yeshua, Jesus, the apostles, and we see the word of God, how to unpack the word told by Moses and the prophets, and we see the unity of God's word.
So, it's really a passion of my heart.
Rick and Bondo is to teach the whole counsel of God, just like Paul said, just like he did back in the book of Acts.
He emphasizes that he was there to teach the whole council of God.
That's really my calling, not just to cherry pig from one verse or one passage, but to get a holistic perspective on the biblical revelation that the Lord has graciously granted us in the Holy Bible, both the Hebrew scriptures and the New Testament.
That's what we need.
We don't need to divide over some minor theological questions.
We need to be united on the core truths of scripture and also sort through as much as possible with God's help some other questions that maybe not always as critical, but still important, like biblical inerrancy, creation of the world.
How do we answer all kinds of challenges or questions related to evolution, etc.?
How do we reconcile the scientific findings in the Bible?
How biblical archaeology helps us in our faith, how it strengthens our faith, that we really know that biblical archaeology helps us see that the Bible was true.
It's the infallible, inerrant word of God.
And all of the events and all of the miracles took place just like the Bible tells us.
And we have some amazing extra biblical sources to corroborate, to strengthen our faith that, yes, it's really so.
Supporting the Ministry's Vision 00:04:17
It's really true.
And it's also important to notice, friends, that the International Biblical Apologetics Association is really unique in the sense of reaching people in different countries.
And the ministry has representatives in the former Soviet Union, for example, in Ukraine and Belarus, as well as in Germany.
So I really invite you, friends, to join forces with this ministry.
Pray for this ministry.
The Lord leads you to support the ministry financially.
There are many projects, and any support will be truly appreciated.
And you always can reach out to me for more resources.
I would love to organize conferences, Bible seminars in person and online.
So I have a wonderful team working with me, with some friends from the state of Indiana and others.
And we are working together to build up this ministry and to reach as many souls as possible to the glory of the Messiah of Israel.
Amen.
Friends, I encourage you again, go to his website.
We'll put it up on the screen again.
If this is something the Holy Spirit has prompted you to do to support this ministry, then go and do that.
We need more apologists.
Doctor, I want to thank you for doing that.
Friends, you're watching the PTL Television Network.
If you're just tuning in, we have Dr. Egal Germain with us today.
I hope I said that correctly.
I'm really bad.
I'm like Jim Baker.
It's like I grew up in the same house as him or something.
No, I grew up hearing names pronounced wrong.
So my apologies if I say it correctly, but go to the website.
You'll be able to read it and you'll probably read it correctly.
But the PTL Television Network, we were just with Pastor Jim the other day.
He was on the broadcast and he's passionate about keeping this 24-hour network uncensored, unfiltered, so that you can have a voice and a platform.
Friends, if you're a prophet and have a prophecy, we don't want you to have to mint your words when you're speaking it on television.
Or if you're a pastor preaching a message on current topics, we don't want you to have to take things out of your sermon.
No, we want to provide you with a platform where you can speak the entire gospel in its fullness.
Because, friends, that's how I believe it should be spread entirely in its fullness from the word of God.
And that's what the PTL Television Network is dedicated to.
But we need your support.
We need you to stand with us.
We need you to keep standing with us and pray for us.
Pray that the PTL Television Network, you know, through attacks of other churches sometimes, government agencies, they told us to die the message or, you know, dial the message down a little bit.
You know, maybe you can preach the gospel, but don't tell everyone that Christ is the only way to heaven.
Well, friends, we'll never back down from a biblical position.
We'll always believe what the Bible tells us to believe.
And friends, we believe Christ is the only way to heaven.
We believe that prophets still speak today.
We believe that people still get words of knowledge and people still get healed.
We believe in the full word of God.
And friends, we want to provide a platform for other people to be able to spread the message through the 24-hour network.
So consider standing with us.
I know, Mondo, we have monthly donors who are like the backbone of this ministry that allow us to continue to press forward.
And we have one-time getters who are essential to keeping this mission going forward.
You know, one of the most important things to do is to subscribe to any of the products that we offer because not all the time we're going to be talking about the products.
And sometimes you forget that we have new mana available on a subscription base.
We have Cardiomiracle, which we drink every single day.
But I'm saying that not as a joke, but just to tell you that we love the PTL network.
And sometimes you get so busy that you forget that subscription-based products are also another reason why we're still on the air fuel.
And you have made it possible.
And if you haven't subscribed yet, go to the website, jimbakershow.com and navigate through the different affiliates that we have available and become a monthly subscriber.
So if you don't want to be a partner, but you want to have products, and by the way, when you become a subscriber every single month, you are going to get some special pricing on every product.
Heavy discounts.
That's right.
King Josiah: Untold Story 00:07:27
If you're going to go support the ministry or become a monthly donor, we appreciate every single dollar that comes into this ministry because it allows us to continue to broadcast the gospel of Jesus Christ, keeping Pastor Jim's vision for this end-time ministry alive.
And friends, we want to do just that.
We're going to be getting into the second part of the show here with Dr. Egal Germain.
And we're going to be talking about a book.
But I want you to watch the trailer for this book first.
It's called King Josiah: The Untold Story.
Watch this book trailer.
Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder and cast away the cords from us.
In today's modern world filled with corruption and injustice, many wonder if there is hope for the future.
Yet those who trust in God's word know that the things we are seeing today are signs of a much better future to come.
The people of 7th century BC Judah were also under a system of harsh tyranny and deep deception.
Still, a small remnant in Judah held fast to a 300-year-old prophecy of a child who would be born to the house of David, Josiah by name, and would overthrow this corrupt system, contending for the hearts of men to be restored back to their sacred covenant.
In King Josiah the Untold Story, we take a trip back in time to explore the beauty, customs, and lifestyle of ancient Judah, uncovering rare gems of wisdom as we follow the amazing true story of this heroic young king from early childhood adventure to the throne of Judah and through the many experiences that forged him into a great leader.
Discover links to ancient prophecy and the shining legacy of uncompromising resistance in the face of evil that will greatly strengthen your resolve to stand faithful for God against the challenges of our modern times.
Doctor, your ministry is offering a special book entitled King Josiah, The Untold Story.
And friends, right here, you know, this is a historical novel about the life of this Judean king.
So I want to ask you this question.
What is the significance of this book being a novel rather than a historical text?
Yes, thank you.
Thank you so much for playing this trailer.
And I would say that this is a unique book by Gerard that he put together a few years ago.
And Gerard is a good friend of mine and the International Biblical Apologetics Association actually promotes his book on the website.
So I would say that the book is written as a novel because it provides a unique, lively perspective on the life of one righteous Judean king, Josiah, or his Hebrew name is Yehoshiyau.
And the novel format of this book is really good and important because it helps us to connect with the biblical story in a new and fresh way.
Just like in the ministry of Jesus, we know that the Lord was using various parables to teach God's people.
He was using different stories.
He was illustrating.
So the message of the kingdom will be much more memorable and easy to receive.
In the same way, this biblical narrative of King Josiah does the same thing, bringing scriptural truth to life in such a way as to have a deep impact on the heart of the reader or listener.
So I really find Gerard's book a gift to the body of Christ, and I recommend you to check it out, the untold story of King Josiah.
Check it out on the website, Bibleapologies.org, and you'll really be equipped with a fresh perspective on the history of scripture on the one hand.
And you can also use it as a great tool for Jewish evangelism.
You can give this book to your Jewish friend and introduce him to the Messianic perspective of the Hebrew scriptures.
And you'll be blessed.
Thank you.
You know, the story of King Josiah has always fascinated me because I think all of us need to see ourselves at some point in the story of King Josiah.
And I gotta ask you this, who needs this book?
Because the person that is watching may feel like, oh, my time is gone.
I don't know if God can still use me.
But what are some lessons to learn from King Josiah, whether you're young, whether you're middle-aged, or you're older, and maybe you're still waiting on God to use you?
Yes, excellent questions.
Thank you.
So I would say that the book would be an excellent tool for Jewish evangelism.
I think it's such a lively perspective, a fresh perspective that will bring you back to the ancient Jewish culture, tradition, lifestyle.
In particular, young men and women will also be tremendously inspired by the true life, history, and dynamic example of King Josiah.
We need to be like King Josiah.
We all know the word, we all know this statement, like, dare to be like Daniel, right?
But I would also say dare to be like King Josiah because he took an uncompromising stand on God's word.
And God's word, the Torah, God's instruction, God's law was so precious to the heart of this young Jewish man, the king of Judah.
So I really, I encourage you, friends to learn more and check it out for yourself and learn about King Josiah.
Go back to the Bible, pick a copy of this.
new book by Gerard Troyes and really use it for your life to build up your faith.
Use it as a tool for Jewish evangelism and also for Bible studies, preaching, teaching, and any other kind of ministry that the Lord would direct you.
You can get a copy of this at Amazon.
You go to your website and you can, I saw the banner for it.
It's very easy to find.
Just go onto the website, click that banner.
If you put that thing back up on the screen, you can see it just says right there, King Josiah, the unstooled Tory.
It kind of gives you a quick overview of what the book's going to be about.
And then you can click that black link.
It says buy it now at Amazon.
Click that.
Why Bible Studies Matter 00:14:27
It'll take you to where you can purchase this.
And Amazon's typically pretty quick about getting stuff shipped out.
Absolutely.
Order it today.
And, you know, I love the fact that we have to go back to having Bible studies.
Bible studies are key.
Matter of fact, there's a mega church in San Diego.
This is one of the amazing churches in America.
But you know how this church was built, how this church operates is through Bible studies.
And they pay attention to small groups and they invest a lot of time and a lot of teaching into Bible studies at home and areas like that.
Why?
Because together we're going to be the body of Christ.
It's not being, you know, Sunday morning where thousands gather.
That's nice.
But what's more intimate is when you learn and teach.
And they have a lot of pastors that go in and teach, you know, the curriculum.
But what I'm trying to tell you is teach.
It's time for us to teach.
Wait.
Stop waiting for someone else to teach it for you.
Learn the word.
That's why we have an epidemic of the word of God because people, Ricky, don't want to study the word.
Then they don't know how to teach the word.
They don't know how to defend the word.
We have an epidemic in America where biblical illiteracy is so high.
Yeah, the Barna study did a study and biblical literacy is really at an all-time high.
But they're saying even up to 80 to 90% of people who attend church regularly are biblically illiterate.
How do you expect to be an apologist when you're biblically illiterate?
I can't watch a lot of television, meaning I cannot watch.
And I sit as a hobby.
I watch Christian television and ministries on the internet and what they're doing.
But I can tell you I'm following through scripture.
And there's a lot of sermons that only have one scripture.
The rest of them are stories.
I want to know the word.
What does the word say?
Read me the full gospel of the word.
Teach me about the foundation of the gospel.
Yet, no wonder America's Christianity is in jeopardy, but not if we get involved.
Not if we get involved.
You hear me?
Not if we get involved and we have a mandate to teach.
And what if you had this tools to help you teach?
That's the key.
Use them as tools to teach the word.
I teach my son.
And I think I showed you the other day.
Oh, here it is.
The other day I was studying on the weekend Proverbs and look at my Bible.
That's right.
You're going word by word.
Word for word.
It's how dad taught me.
I know it's how he taught you.
Is go word for word.
Very long Bible studies growing up.
Huge.
But you know what?
My son asked a lot of questions.
As did we.
And either I'm prepared to answer those questions or he's going to get someone else to answer them that are going to be corrupt.
You understand what I'm telling you?
So most kids don't even know who King Josiah is today.
Yay, he is one of the greatest leaders that came out of Israel.
You got me yelling like I'm preaching.
He was one of the greatest leaders that came out of Israel that I believe we need to learn something about today.
I'm telling you, without Christian television that is teaching and talking and understanding the word is disappearing very, very slowly.
Most Christian shows right now are being built and podcasted.
And I'm not attacking anybody, but I'm telling you, most of them are being on just to give their opinion.
They're not teaching you the word.
They're giving you an opinion of what they think about so-and-so's ministry.
What do they think about this?
What are they?
It's opinion-based.
It is not word-based.
What's my favorite phrase?
Come on, Marta.
I say it all the time.
When I became a Christian, I lost my right to an opinion.
I really did.
That's just the reality of it.
I can have an opinion on what I think about X, Y, and Z, but if it's contradictory to the word of God, I don't have that opinion anymore.
Friends, I go based off the word of God.
In any conversation, I have conversations with individuals around here.
What do you think about this issue?
And I say, well, give me a minute.
We'll look up the scripture.
I might not have it memorized, but thank God for Google.
We'll be able to look it up and let's see what the Bible says about it.
But I tell my son that because he asked me all the time, Dad, what do you think about this?
I said, well, let's look at what the Bible says.
That's right.
The most important thing.
I said, son, I don't want to give you my opinion because I know right now my son is shaping his opinion based on my opinion.
That's dangerous.
And he loves me and I love my son.
But the greatest thing I can do is to shape it off the Bible.
Absolutely.
What does the Bible say, son?
Let's read it together.
Amen.
And then let's discuss it.
I'm going to tell you why Christian television is so important.
You know, Ricky, I've had more people tell me that they enjoy going through the Bible with us on every show.
Yes.
Yeah, we enjoy reading the Bible on every show.
And I want to tell you something.
We can tell you about our families and we can tell you about what we're going through.
It's not time for that right now.
Right now is what does God have to say to you right now?
What does the Bible have to tell you?
One of these days, we'll tell you about our lives and how our kids are doing.
And because our show has been built on that, and dad has always taught us to be transparent with you on what's happening, sharing our kids and all that.
But I want to tell you something.
I feel like right now, we need to hear the word.
Amen.
And we need to study the word.
Now, you know, the times we're living in, Doctor, I want to ask you this question.
Just a few minutes left on the broadcast.
Like King Josiah, we've gone through this book.
We've, you know, really read it.
Wonderful novel.
But do you believe we're living in a time of God's impending judgment?
Yes, I certainly do.
I believe that through reading the books of Moses and inquiring from the prophets of his day, King Josiah learned that God's judgment against the nation of Judah was imminent.
In the same way, I believe that we are seeing the signs of God's impending judgment upon our society today.
Yet, like King Josiah, God's people today have the authority to intercede for souls to be brought into God's kingdom and for the gospel to have free course in these last days.
I also believe, brothers, that like King Josiah, we must all be diligent to do the work of the Lord and to pray for God's grace to reach as many as possible while we still have the opportunity.
Amen.
Just a few minutes left on the broadcast.
I just want the audience to really know about what it is that you're doing.
If you're just tuning in, go back to the beginning of the show and watch this show with our doctor we're on today.
But what's the biggest takeaway that you want our audience to know about the International Biblical Apologetics Association?
If someone's just tuning in and watching the last end of this live broadcast, or if they're watching on video on demand, what is it that you want them to take away from what you do with your Apologetics Association?
Yes, thank you so much.
So I really want to reiterate, to emphasize the unique mission of the International Biblical Apologetics Association with the website bibleapologies.org.
We are here to defend and to proclaim the whole council of God, the whole truth of scripture.
I encourage the wonderful friends, audience, to take action, friends, by engaging the various resources available on this website.
I would be very honored and blessed to be invited as a speaker to your church events, conferences, seminars, etc.
We are planning a great ministry membership as well.
So I invite pastors, lay believers, apologists, theologians, students of scripture to join our effort, join our mission to stand for the truth, to stand for the people of Israel, to reach out to the lost with the gospel and together be united, just like Jesus Christ prayed for us.
Let us be one, just like the Father and the Son are one.
So pray for us, friends.
Stand with us.
If the Lord leads you to support his ministry financially, it would be of great help because we have many unique projects of defending the faith, equipping the saints in different languages on an international scale.
And just join us.
We are here to help and to serve you.
Amen.
You know, we just have five minutes left on the broadcast.
This just came to my mind.
I just want to go there if you don't mind.
Maybe there's someone watching who is a Jew, a practicing Jew, they're in there, or maybe you're watching someone who was in, you know, or they're currently in, maybe the Jehovah's Witness, like you were at one point.
What would you say to somebody who is battling with the idea of giving their life to Jesus fully?
Yeah, so I would say that that's the day of salvation, just like Paul wrote to the believers at Corinth, 2 Corinthians chapter 6.
This is the day of salvation.
This is the day that the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
So I really pray for those who are seeking the Lord, Jewish people or Muslims or Catholics or anyone else who doesn't know the Lord, the living God of Israel, the God of Abram, Isaac, and Jacob through the Messiah, Yeshua Jesus.
I really beg, I really pray for you that the Lord would open your heart and minds.
And if you have any questions, feel free to contact the International Biblical Apologetic Association.
You have the contact information.
We would love to pray for you, to answer your questions, to provide you with great tools and equip you for evangelism, for effective evangelism and apologetics, defending the faith with courage, boldness, and clarity.
God bless you.
Amen.
Doctor, I'd love to have you back on the program sometimes, kind of dive into the apologetics more and your background.
I really want to get into that.
I want to thank you for recommending this book, a wonderful novel.
We had our team read it.
They dissected it.
It's a great book.
Go on Amazon and get this.
You can go to the website.
We'll put it up on the screen.
You can click that right there.
You can see it.
It says, King Josiah, the Untold Story.
You can buy it on Amazon.
I think it's a good novel, Mondo.
Is, like you know, people have book clubs.
People do, like you know, tuesday night book clubs, thursday night book clubs.
I think it should be great to get a dozen copies of these, give it out to your book club people and just read through it a chapter a week.
Dr Egal said something very important, today is the day that the lord has made.
I will rejoice and be glad in it.
Today's the day of salvation.
Friends, if you don't know Jesus Christ as your personal lord and savior, you're missing out.
You really are.
Today is the best day in the entire world to give your life to Jesus.
There's never been a better day and if you're a believer that's drifted away from the full calling that God has had for your life, there's never been a better day to come back into the fullness of god.
Go get in a good Bible, believing church.
Go get baptized.
Go tell everyone that you know I believe in Jesus Christ.
Profess it with your mouth, friends.
Get vulnerable with God, confess your sins to him and I promise you the blood of Jesus is so pure, it's so clean and it's so holy and righteous.
It will cover all of your sins.
Friends, that's what the cross was all about, so that you and I could have a chance of being called sons and daughters, heir to the throne in eternity with Jesus Christ.
Call us today.
That number is one eight eight eight nine eight, eight.
