Honor Thy Mother
00:15:34
|
|
| Hello and welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show coming to you from the village of Morningside, USA, nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. | |
| Today, our special guest is an author, prophet, Bible teacher, and founder of World of Life Outreach and Mike Thompson Ministries in Las Vegas, Nevada, Pastor Mike Thompson. | |
| Our co-host today is Mondo Televega. | |
| And now, live from Gray Street at Morningside, USA, here's your host, Pastor Ricky Baker. | |
| Hello, friends. | |
| You're watching the PTL Television Network. | |
| It's exciting you chose to tune in with us today. | |
| We have an exciting broadcast for you. | |
| We have Mike Thompson with us today. | |
| He's a respected prophet and Bible teacher at Word of Life, Mike Thompson Ministries in Las Vegas. | |
| Come on, baby. | |
| He's been a guest on such programs such as Sid Roth's It's Supernatural. | |
| We love Sid Roth and as well as the Eric Metaxas show. | |
| His book is called The Lion's Army. | |
| Discover the ways of the Spirit for the Last Days. | |
| Friends, we're going to be diving into that with Mike Thompson in a little bit. | |
| But if you have your Bible, I want you to open up. | |
| I think it's really important we know who we are. | |
| We're going to open up to the book of Galatians. | |
| We're going to be doing chapter three right here. | |
| It says here in Galatians chapter three, verse 27, for those of you who were baptized into Christ have been clothed with Christ. | |
| There is no Jew or Greek, slave or free, male and female, since you are all one in Christ Jesus. | |
| And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, heirs according to the promise. | |
| Now, Mondo, how encouraging is that? | |
| Friends, the minute you accept Christ Jesus into your life, the minute that you say, yes, I want my will to be under God's will. | |
| I want him to be the ruler and reigner of my heart. | |
| I want him to sit on that chair in the throne room of my heart. | |
| Friends, you submit everything to Christ. | |
| You're now heir to the throne. | |
| You're now brother and sister. | |
| Mondo, it doesn't matter how far someone has gone, how much someone has done. | |
| It doesn't matter if you say, well, my sin has been too weighty. | |
| Aren't we grateful as believers for the grace and the mercy of God that allows us to be sons and daughters despite our own sin? | |
| That is the greatest gift that we have as Christians is to know that if it wasn't for the grace of God, that statement alone, you can write many checks with that. | |
| Can I say that? | |
| Because I want to tell you something. | |
| God backs up his word when he says he loves you. | |
| You know, one of my favorite parts of the Bible is when he talks about that there's nothing you can do to earn his love and there's nothing we can do to, you know, or love to disappear. | |
| I believe that when God says he loves you, he means it. | |
| The dilemma is, Ricky, that I found that throughout 27 years of walking with the Lord is that a lot of people focus on their sin more than they do the grace of God. | |
| That's right. | |
| Whenever you're focusing on your sin, man, your sin nature, that's what's on your forefront on your mind. | |
| You're consistently thinking about that. | |
| But instead, we as believers need to be dwelling on the goodness of God, on the grace of God, on the mercy of God. | |
| Now, friends, yes, there are trials, tribulations, hard times in your lives, but that doesn't mean you can't reflect on the goodness of God. | |
| Friends, I have something very important I want to share with you. | |
| God's goodness and his mercy and his grace far outweighs all the bad you think you have done that is pushing you from the throne of God. | |
| Now, friends, you can come to God however you are, in whatever condition you are, drop whatever you're doing and come to Christ. | |
| But the beauty about Christ is you're born again. | |
| You don't stay the same. | |
| You don't continue to live in the old man. | |
| You don't continue to live in the old sin. | |
| You move forward. | |
| Now, on that journey, this long marathon that we run called life, we're running to a common goal at the end, friends. | |
| That's heaven. | |
| It's Christ, Jesus, eternally, forever. | |
| But friends, sometimes you'll fall. | |
| Sometimes you'll slip. | |
| Sometimes you'll bust your knee. | |
| Get back up and continue to run the race. | |
| Now, when you're running this race, you'll look to your left and you'll look to your right and you'll see brothers and sisters running this race with you as well. | |
| And friends, your brother and your sister might fall down. | |
| They might make a mistake. | |
| They might bump their knee. | |
| But friends, we aren't called to mock them as they fall down. | |
| We're called to restore people in the spirit of meekness, a meek spirit. | |
| I want to read this to you right here. | |
| It says right here in Romans chapter 12, verse 19, friends, do not avenge yourselves. | |
| Instead, leave room for God's wrath because it is written, vengeance belongs to me and I will repay, says the Lord. | |
| But if your enemy is hungry, feed him. | |
| If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. | |
| For in doing so, you will be heaping fiery coals on his head. | |
| Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good. | |
| Now, friends, when we're Christians and believers, everyone that is in the family of Christ is a brother or a sister. | |
| That's the reality of it. | |
| We're all one family. | |
| Now, Mondo, I know in a lot of the church, there's a lot of brothers and sisters that people don't like. | |
| They don't agree with us. | |
| All those cousins. | |
| That's right. | |
| Yeah, cousins, spiritual cousins. | |
| They don't agree theologically. | |
| There's something in between them. | |
| There maybe have been a past hurt that is legitimate and that there's a real wound. | |
| But how does the word tell us to treat someone we consider to be an enemy, someone we consider to have an offense again? | |
| It says right here, Mondo, if your enemy's hungry, what are we supposed to do? | |
| Feed them. | |
| Feed him. | |
| If he's thirsty, what are we supposed to do? | |
| Give him water. | |
| Give him something to drink. | |
| Because we're conquering evil, not with evil, not with slander, not with Facebook posts and Twitter posts. | |
| We're conquering it with good. | |
| We're conquering it with the goodness of God that we allow to flow through us. | |
| And Mondo, I think that message needs to be preached more from our pulpits than ever before. | |
| We need to hear the message of doing good to those we disagree with. | |
| I cannot believe you're teaching this this morning. | |
| We don't talk about this. | |
| No. | |
| And last night, as I'm watching the news, I'm watching a lot of Christians celebrate things that Christians should not be celebrating. | |
| Yet we should be really not even in mourning, but we should be in a compassionate stage, understanding that we are called to be Christ with flesh to represent what the scripture says. | |
| And I want to tell you something. | |
| I've never seen Christianity with such infection where we don't show compassion of the gospel anymore. | |
| How can we receive the spirit of revelation when, Ricky, we can't even do the basic of loving our neighbor as we do ourselves? | |
| How can God entrust you with the spirit that he has for the last days if we not mature enough to do the principal things, which is to clothe the naked, visit the prisoner? | |
| I mean, I can go down the list. | |
| Yet here you are reading and reminding us once again what our mission is in the middle of all this political talk that is going on. | |
| And it's good as Christians, we get involved in this political talks. | |
| It's good that we can influence this political talk, but yet we have to be very careful where we align ourselves when it comes to the Bible. | |
| That's right. | |
| What does the Bible say about loving people and helping people? | |
| That's right. | |
| I want to jump back just a few verses in chapter 12. | |
| It says here in verse 9, Romans 12, verse 9, let love be without hypocrisy. | |
| Friends, this is the same thing. | |
| You just lost half the audience. | |
| That's right. | |
| It's right here. | |
| Detest evil, cling to what is good. | |
| Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. | |
| Amanda, what does it say next? | |
| Outdo one another in showing honor. | |
| Wow. | |
| And honor means value them. | |
| That's right. | |
| Can I tell you a little story? | |
| As a brother and a sister? | |
| Absolutely. | |
| You, in the last few weeks, had to make some decisions that were very difficult. | |
| Very. | |
| But at the same time, your, let's say, your honor was being questioned. | |
| But yet when you spoke out of love and you came out of a place of love, you showed the value of honoring them even when it didn't feel right. | |
| Because when you are around brothers and sisters and family members, you know it can get ugly. | |
| But one thing I saw that you displayed was how much you value the other person. | |
| That's right. | |
| I'm not tearing them down. | |
| Instead, they were trying to tear you down. | |
| But you spoke. | |
| Can I say this? | |
| You practice this very scripture right before my eyes. | |
| And I'm looking at my little brother and I'm going, oh my gosh, this man, he used to be a little boy. | |
| Now I've become a man. | |
| Display the very scripture. | |
| And this is why I believe God has entrusted you in the position that you are because you not only honor them, you valued them and you validated them without destroying them. | |
| But Ricky, you practice this very scripture and I'm so proud of you because I believe that God has placed you in a position for an hour that we need to be reminded of what our Christian ethics should look like. | |
| That's right. | |
| Honor where honor is due. | |
| And friends, I had the dialogue with the Holy Spirit in time of prayer, actually in our 24-hour prayer center we have here where I was, you know, going through these internal battles where I said, Lord, you know, I'm being done wrong. | |
| I'm being done this. | |
| And I said, well, Lord, what do I do? | |
| And he says, honor them. | |
| I said, well, Lord, you know, how do I honor them? | |
| You know, what's the best way? | |
| What's the best capacity that I could honor this person who's wounding me? | |
| And the Lord said, honor them, period. | |
| I said, okay. | |
| And I said, why should I honor them? | |
| And that was my question to the Lord. | |
| Why should I honor them? | |
| And the Lord says, don't touch my anointed and do my prophet no harm, even if you don't agree with them. | |
| That's it. | |
| Even if something is popped up between you. | |
| And I agreed with that. | |
| I said, you know what? | |
| That's what the word of God says. | |
| So I'm going to step into the situation where it could turn into an argument and I'm just going to display love and honor. | |
| Gary Smalley, the late Gary Smalley, one of the greatest counselors in the world, mentor, a friend of this ministry, a personal friend. | |
| We love Gary Smalley. | |
| Gary Smalley taught me this. | |
| There's a way that you can argue and still win-win, meaning the other person wins and you win. | |
| And there's a way to learning to how to argue the right way. | |
| And in arguing, meaning the right way is, can you value them in the middle of this argument? | |
| Yes. | |
| Meaning, are you able to validate them? | |
| That's what you did. | |
| You validate them through the scripture and understanding that you gave them honor, meaning you value them. | |
| Can I ask you this question? | |
| How much do you value the person that you don't agree with? | |
| The Bible says honor thy mother and thy father. | |
| Amen. | |
| A lot of people have those disagreements with them too. | |
| I've seen a lot of people, especially, you know, my time in the military, you ask a lot of people, you know, why'd you join the army? | |
| I always want to get away from the house. | |
| You know, I didn't like my mom. | |
| I didn't like my dad. | |
| And they would just continue this cycle of bashing their parents for giving them like a bad upbringing. | |
| And that's why, you know, essentially they felt like they needed to join the military to get away from them or to start a new life or do something. | |
| And that would always, you know, be a point of conversation. | |
| We can say, you know, whether you disagree with it, and I had this conversation with a friend as well. | |
| He was one of my soldiers, and he was talking about his mother. | |
| She was a drug addict. | |
| His father left when he was young. | |
| And everything he'd speak about them always would be dishonoring. | |
| And I said, you know, when's the last time you spoke to your mother? | |
| I haven't spoken to her in five or six years. | |
| Do you have her number? | |
| Yeah, I think I have her number on my phone. | |
| I said, when's the last time you just called her on the phone and told her you loved her? | |
| Because I've never said I loved her. | |
| I never will ever say those words out of my mouth. | |
| Wow. | |
| I said, okay, so when's the last time you told her, hey, I appreciate that you brought my life into this world? | |
| Because, you know, friend, you're a man with children. | |
| You have a wife. | |
| And if it wasn't for her, you wouldn't be in this world right now. | |
| I said, you know, so essentially we were bestowing the fact, friend, when was the last time you spoke to her and poured honor onto her? | |
| And he said, no, I never, never will do it. | |
| I'll never do it. | |
| Many months of this conversation went on. | |
| And finally, he came and we had the conversation where he said, you know, I picked up on the phone. | |
| I called her. | |
| She answered, and it was silent for a couple of minutes. | |
| And all I could say was, Thank you for giving birth to me. | |
| Thank you for not aborting me. | |
| I appreciate everything you've done for me. | |
| And he hung up the phone. | |
| And he said, it wasn't a long conversation, but I felt free in that moment. | |
| And I said, continue to do that. | |
| Continue to restore your mother through love. | |
| And I promise you, she'll come into the household of faith. | |
| And you know what that's called? | |
| It's called he valued that mom and wrong. | |
| Absolutely. | |
| His whole life. | |
| Drugs and abuse. | |
| I love what you said. | |
| And a lot of the programs you keep referring to, just because you disagree with them, or how do you say, just because you forgive them doesn't mean that you agree with them or they're right. | |
| You see, validating somebody and value, putting the value on them doesn't mean that it's okay that they hurt you. | |
| No, it means that you honor them. | |
| You value them for who they have become in your life by bringing you into this earth. | |
| Now, understand this. | |
| You said it perfectly. | |
| Unlocking unforgiveness to find forgiveness starts by honoring and valuing. | |
| Meaning, again, if you read the scripture, honor thy mother and thy father, meaning value thy mother and thy father. | |
| So you can live long or you can have a long life. | |
| And I want to tell you something. | |
| Value comes with a promise, like you just mentioned. | |
| Most people don't understand the word value, let alone honor, because we get our definition from Webster's dictionary. | |
| That's right. | |
| But when you get your definition from the scripture, now the definition is different and you value them and you honor them from a biblical perspective, not from an emotional place. | |
| And honor doesn't mean that you have to agree with everything they do. | |
| Because emotion operating out of emotion is very dangerous because now you control it. | |
| Now it becomes your will. | |
| You read the scripture earlier: thy will, God, God's will. | |
| God's will is intentional. | |
| God's will means you value them from the place of intention, not from emotion. | |
| Amen. | |
| Emotions will get you in trouble. | |
| That's right. | |
| And friends, that's why it's important that our will is always underneath God's will. | |
| It's subservient to God's will, friends. | |
| And that is one of the most important things you'll do every single day. | |
| It's a cognitive choice you have to make to say, Holy Spirit, I want my decisions to be under your decisions to be under your decisions, my will to be under your will. | |
|
The Power of Unity in Christ
00:15:23
|
|
| And I want you to rule and to reign in my life. | |
| You know, Mondo, when someone comes into the household of the believers, whether you love them or you don't love them or they've done you wrong, they're still a brother and sister in Christ. | |
| And we still all serve in the same army that is the Lord's army. | |
| You know, that's why I want to really talk with Mike Thompson today about his book, The Lion's Army, because we all are a part of this same, you know, military style army that is described throughout the Bible, through and through. | |
| So, Brother Pastor Mike, I want to ask you this question. | |
| How important is it that we in the Lion's Army, the Lord's army, are brothers and sisters and we actually love one another? | |
| Oh, it's extremely important. | |
| We have to obey the scriptures. | |
| You guys have done such a wonderful job in describing it. | |
| But if we do not have that kind of honor and respect for one another, we're not showing the honor of the Lord that he has for the other warriors that are in his army. | |
| You know, in Revelation 5, 5, it talks about how that Jesus is the lion of the tribe of Judah. | |
| And in being such, he has an army that he commands. | |
| And in that army, we have to get along because division and strife and all those things begin to segment the army to where we're not operating as a unit. | |
| And so there's the perspective of the family that we find, you know, in the Lord Jesus Christ. | |
| And so we honor members of the family. | |
| What about the analogy of the body? | |
| You got to honor and you got to treat all the different members of the body with honor and respect. | |
| But as far as warfare goes, we are the lion's army. | |
| So therefore, we have to make sure that we don't get drawn into the weeds. | |
| And one of the things that the enemy does very often is he pulls people into the mud. | |
| All he does is just cause some kind of a stir, somebody being offended, whatever the situation is. | |
| And then he pulls us in if we take the bait and we get out in the mud and start playing with him. | |
| You know, my mentor used to say this this way. | |
| It says, when you listen to the Holy Spirit and you stay out of strife and you walk in love, then you and the Holy Spirit decide what battles you're going to fight and how to fight them and how to win. | |
| But when you get into strife and dishonoring one another, then the devil chooses them for you. | |
| So we want to retain that kind of choice and make sure that we're a strong army of the Lord Jesus Christ and we win the wars. | |
| Amen. | |
| You know, in the Lion's Army, you focus on a specific vision regarding the spiritual war between the Lion of Judah and Satan's army. | |
| So what was the most shocking weapon that Satan used on modern day believers and non-believers? | |
| Well, when the Lord gave me this vision, there were three primary hordes of hell, demonic armies that were attacking the body of Christ, but also our nation. | |
| And the very first one was what he called the screamers and the shriekers. | |
| They were the ones that just brought cacophony. | |
| They were yelling. | |
| They were screaming. | |
| They were causing so much commotion about everything that it induced intimidation, fear. | |
| And that caused a situation to where people would do just about anything to get rid of that kind of fear and strife problems that were arising in their own life, in their own relationships, in their own nation. | |
| And the second army that was released after that was called Lion Unity. | |
| And I'll come back to that. | |
| Following Lion Unity was the third demonic horde, which were the punishers and the enforcers. | |
| They were the ones to come along and then begin to change things and change the mindset and the mode of people and how they would normally react, not listening to the Holy Spirit. | |
| Let's go back to Lion Unity. | |
| Reason I wanted to wait is because, in my opinion, that was the greatest weapon that I saw in this vision. | |
| Lying unity was the deception. | |
| It was not unity of the spirit, by the way. | |
| It was unity of the flesh. | |
| It was deceptive unity. | |
| It was man's unity. | |
| It was political unity. | |
| It was a unity that was forced upon people in their relationships and their communities to not do it God's way, but to give in and to conform to what it is that the enemy wants to do. | |
| In other words, do anything, agree to anything, just to stop the intimidation, the fear, the attacks, the relational distress, the strife. | |
| Do anything. | |
| And so, what I find is that along the way, that's what has affected the body of Christ. | |
| That's probably the biggest weapon. | |
| I mean, we can go through so many. | |
| We could list them by the dozens, different attacks, different strategies that the enemy uses. | |
| But that one was the most profound. | |
| How many believers in the body of Christ just give up, just will swallow anything, hook, line, and sinker, as long as it gives them the appearance of unity. | |
| There is a false unity. | |
| We need to be in the unity of the Spirit of God. | |
| And that can only be if we will stay in the Word of God, obey the Word of God, and be led by the Spirit from the inside out, not by the pressures from the outside in. | |
| And I find that great pressure had been placed upon so many believers. | |
| And you know, the body of Christ is a large body, and people have different doctrinal viewpoints, but it's imperative for us to understand that we have to stay in the word and do it God's way, not deception. | |
| That deceptive unity taps into the emotionalism that you were talking about a little bit earlier. | |
| And people then are walking by emotion rather than by reason and logic. | |
| If I can take two minutes, I'll describe this scenario. | |
| I've been around for a while, and what I have watched over the years is that the society in America and in the church has swung from logic and reason to emotion. | |
| You know, it started way back with I'm okay, you're okay, and different kinds of books and influences in the body of Christ. | |
| And there was this swing from Bible reason to emotionalism. | |
| In our nation, there was a swing from constitution reason and logic to, oh, I don't feel that that constitutional provision is right. | |
| So my feelings now must demand that the Constitution be changed. | |
| As Christians, they began to feel that the reason of the Bible, reasoning in the Bible, just doesn't feel right. | |
| And so let's change that. | |
| And so that's what this line unity has brought about in America. | |
| Fortunately, I have witnessed that through the body of Christ rising up in recent years and doing warfare. | |
| And I saw this in this vision of the lion's army and winning the war, that there was a swing back. | |
| We are coming back to reason, to faith in the Bible and taking it for face value and what the Bible says. | |
| based upon logic and then allowing our emotions to become subservient to that logic and then enforce our ability to go forward and be who God created us to be and do what he has called us to do. | |
| In that vision, there were three primary weapons, tactics that the Lord gave us. | |
| The first one was fire, which was the power of God. | |
| I'm talking about in this warfare that was ensuing on the battleground as these three demonic hordes came forward. | |
| The lion's army, the righteous warriors, were lifted by the Spirit of God and began to speak over them. | |
| You have lost. | |
| We have won. | |
| Speak the word of God. | |
| Speak decrees. | |
| And when they did against the first horde, it was the fire of God, the power of God to stop the screams. | |
| We must be spirit-filled and yield to the power of the living God. | |
| The second weapon that we had is against the second army. | |
| When they spoke, it was light that came out. | |
| And light is the reasoning. | |
| Light is revelation. | |
| It is the power of the word of God that's coming forth. | |
| Praise God. | |
| And then against the third demonic horde, when they opened their mouths and spoke, it was wind. | |
| And the wind was the move of the Spirit of God. | |
| Hallelujah. | |
| There was glory in the wind, power of God in the wind. | |
| And I describe these in great detail and what they mean for us as individual believers. | |
| But that's my answer. | |
| The greatest thing that I see right now is the deception in the name of unity and tolerance that's based around emotionalism rather than the reason and the logic of the Holy Spirit in the word. | |
| Amen. | |
| You know, one of my favorite things he just said there during this Mondo is if you want to be in the will of God, get in the word of God. | |
| It feels like it should be common sense, but hearing it from such an eloquent man, beautiful perspective, it's like, oh, yeah, that makes a lot of sense. | |
| It does make a lot of sense. | |
| Yet social media has given us an insight on the inside of things of what people are thinking, what people are strong in their opinions about certain things. | |
| I think we were talking about it yesterday with Ben, one of our producers and John Woodall, that Jesus himself can, if he was to walk on this earth right now and heal people just like he did in the Bible days, people will have so strong opinions. | |
| There'd be speculation on it all over the internet. | |
| Exactly. | |
| From Christians. | |
| Yeah, no, no. | |
| And it tells you, social media tells you, Ricky, that the body is not unified. | |
| There is no unity in the body of Christ right now. | |
| How do I know that? | |
| Because we have so many different streams, they call it. | |
| So many different streams. | |
| One is this and one of this is that. | |
| But there's no unity unless we come to the conclusion of what he just said. | |
| Amen. | |
| Read the word. | |
| Get in the word. | |
| Get in the word. | |
| I believe God wants to reveal to you through the spirit of revelation, teach us what's coming. | |
| Why do we need an army that is united in every front? | |
| Can you imagine? | |
| Well, you don't have to imagine because we saw in the last four years of the administration that our armies were not united and a lot of things fell apart. | |

| Chapter 11, Ricky, he talks about grace. | |
| I love that because we started the program with grace. | |
| Grace is the assurance of a prophetic life. | |
| Wow. | |
| Can I ask you about that, Pastor? | |
| Because I want to know more about how grace is the assurance of a prophetic life. | |
| Speak on that. | |
| The wonderful thing about grace is that it's all covering. | |
| You know, the definition of grace is unmerited favor, but when you look at the Bible context of it, it is unmerited favor and empowering presence of God, enabling us to do what He has called us to do, not only to be who we are and created to be, but to do. | |
| So grace is involved in everything. | |
| And so the Bible says that grace is the assurance that we have in God and everything. | |
| And so assurance, when I talk about prophetic, by the way, in the book, I do describe all the gifts of the Spirit. | |
| I describe the ways of the Spirit, which I think is very important, if you don't mind me saying just for a second, is that learning the ways of the Spirit for these end times is absolutely a must for all spirit-filled believers. | |
| Learning the ways, the ways, how the Spirit thinks, how he moves, how he communicates, beginning to think like he thinks, all of his ways. | |
| We as believers of God in the body of Christ can learn that. | |
| And I teach how to do it. | |
| But in learning that, excuse me, we must understand that we have to have an assurance. | |
| What is it? | |
| You know, our faith, we look at our faith and we say that it is an assurance, that is something that we have in God, and that it will bring it to pass. | |
| But you can't have faith in anything you don't have grace for. | |
| God gives us the grace, and then that sucks us into the revelation so that we can have faith for it. | |
|
Why Christians Are Unprepared For Spiritual Warfare
00:09:01
|
|
| And when we have faith for it at that particular point, then it brings it from the future into reality into the now in our lives. | |
| But it starts by grace. | |
| So we have to learn that grace of God is actually the Lord opening a door in a revelation room to us, giving us an invitation to walk into that with him so that we, by that grace now, find the complete assurance of what it is that we are hoping for and that what God has for our life. | |
| Praise God. | |
| Amen. | |
| So I want to ask you this question. | |
| Why do you believe that Christians are so unprepared for spiritual warfare? | |
| Well, I think that number one, obviously, is that so many of them are not taught. | |
| So it takes people like us to hammer it. | |
| You know, I'm a warrior. | |
| All believers are warriors, or at least have the propensity and the ability to become a warrior in God. | |
| But if you don't read the word and if you don't pray, you know, in the spirit in a way to receive the mind of Christ in how to walk out these things, they just don't know. | |
| Now, my definition of spiritual warfare is very simple. | |
| It's a tension between two kingdoms. | |
| You got a kingdom of light and a kingdom of darkness. | |
| And everywhere that they meet, there is a line that produces tension. | |
| And so the enemy is trying to take a soul, change a nation, bring affliction or sickness or strife or whatever into people's lives. | |
| Well, the kingdom of God butts up against that. | |
| And the primary line of demarcation are the souls of the believers. | |
| I'm talking about people that are there on the front line because it happens in everybody's life. | |
| And at that point, we have a decision. | |
| Do we give in to the darkness and the pressure? | |
| Do they, with the power of God on the inside, push back against that darkness? | |
| And right at that point, that's where the miraculous happens. | |
| Hallelujah. | |
| So I think people misunderstand spiritual warfare in the first place. | |
| They don't realize that it's a natural thing, so to speak, spiritually supernatural that all of us are engaged in. | |
| And that even if you take somebody's hand and you pray for them and lead them to the Lord Jesus Christ and tears are running down their eyes and you're happy about it, that's warfare. | |
| You just pressed against the kingdom of darkness and pulled that person into the kingdom of God by the Holy Spirit, of course. | |
| People think that warfare is something that's dark, that it's deep, that it's heavy. | |
| I don't want to have to be out in the middle of the field in the foxhole, you know, just trying to war all the time. | |
| There is a lightness to warfare. | |
| There is an authority and a faith to warfare where it becomes just a natural, supernaturally natural event of our lives. | |
| Resist the enemy and he shall flee from you. | |
| Once people catch the importance of pushing against the enemy with the miraculous nature that God has placed within them, then warfare becomes something that is light, powerful, productive. | |
| It's an asset to their lives as well as an asset to the kingdom of God. | |
| And then you get joyful warriors. | |
| They're absolutely turning the world upside down. | |
| Amen. | |
| That's what you say. | |
| You get joyful warriors. | |
| That's key, Mondo, is to keep that joy because where's our joy come from the Lord? | |
| Where's our strength come from the Lord? | |
| But the joy of the Lord is our strength. | |
| And I think we can't forget that the joy of the Lord is key. | |
| Amen. | |
| Because even in battle. | |
| Even in battle. | |
| You know, one of the greatest things is to be reminded of God's grace all the way up to where you are today. | |
| And looking back, you didn't realize that you were going to make it this far. | |
| Yet the joy that you still have, it's a tribute to God's ability to work through you in the warfare that you found yourself maybe in the 80s, maybe in 1990s. | |
| Maybe you lost your business. | |
| Maybe your marriage fell apart, yet today you're still understanding that if it wasn't for the Lord, I would not make it this far. | |
| We are in constant spiritual warfare. | |
| It doesn't mean that we have to be sour. | |
| It doesn't mean that we have to be angry or look upset or look grumpy. | |
| Why would you want to be a representative of heaven that is filled with joy and through the battles of life? | |
| Yet those people that can endure to the very end are the people that understand the scriptures and they live in the scriptures because when you understand we win, that's all that matters. | |
| Amen. | |
| I'll tell you a little story. | |
| My wife and I were, we went to St. Louis to get some testing done for my wife because her lupus was acting up and they didn't give her and I very good news. | |
| It was news that could cripple you, news that can make you angry, news that can make you not feel good. | |
| Yet I did not allow the words that came out of the doctor's mouth to move my faith or to shake my emotions or to become emotional and become angry and become sad and become desperate and be in discombobled. | |
| And yet that's still okay because we're human. | |
| But at the same time, I said, Lord, no weapon formed against us shall prosper. | |
| I'll see you in my walk tonight, Lord, and we're going to talk about this. | |
| Because their spiritual warfare doesn't mean that you have to be all sour and angry. | |
| No, it's understanding that we know who's the king of kings. | |
| Amen. | |
| We know who's the healer. | |
| We know that if his will is to be going through this valley of the shadow of death, all I'm asking you, Lord, is for strength to walk through this valley of the shadow. | |
| But keeping the joy of the Lord will confuse the enemy in the middle of your warfare. | |
| That's right. | |
| Can you imagine, Ricky, being a soldier in the middle of Afghanistan and people say, why are you smiling when there's so much warfare going around you? | |
| Yeah, that's right. | |
| You know, there's a story, and this is back many, many years ago. | |
| I believe it was during the World War I or World War II era, where there was a lot of, well, they were calling it shell shock at the time. | |
| We've now pre-labeled it PTSD. | |
| Soldiers were facing these horrific battles and they were coming back with PTSD. | |
| And they were asking a group of American soldiers, psychologists, where this is a true story. | |
| And they said, you know, who out of everyone you saw during the World Wars, all the allies you fought with, who were the ones who were the most resilient? | |
| And all the American soldiers said it was the Aussies. | |
| It was the Australian fighters that were able to keep their composure. | |
| And they said, well, why do you think it was? | |
| And they said, well, because in everything, whether they were going through the mud or whether they were going through loss and death and defeat and certain battles, they never stopped laughing and they would never stop smiling and never stopped finding something to be funny while they were out there and never stopped trying to encourage each other. | |
| And they had the lowest rate of post-traumatic stress disorder because they were able to, even in horrific circumstances, look at each other and say, well, we're still alive. | |
| We still have brothers next to us and we can find something to be joyful about. | |
| But they unanimously said it was the Aussies. | |
| It was the Australians because they were so lighthearted about everything. | |
| Wow. | |
| You know, I think sometimes as believers, we really beat ourselves up because the weight of the world is on our shoulders and you have the weight of your family's finances on your shoulders and the weight of your family's emotional health on your shoulders. | |
| And it's hard to find that spark of joy. | |
| It's hard to find that laughter. | |
| But friends, the joy of the Lord is your strength. | |
| I promise you, the devil doesn't want you laughing and having a good time with the Holy Spirit because then he knows there will be strength renewed back in you. | |
|
Languages of Worship
00:08:55
|
|
| You'll soar again on the eagle's wings. | |
| Friends, I encourage you, get around people that can help you see the good. | |
| Mono, even when you're going through something hard, get around people that can help you see the positive. | |
| Now, I understand there are some bad things that happen: there's trials, tribulations, hard times. | |
| Yes, we get that, friend. | |
| But there's always a reason to be thankful and grateful for what God is doing in your life. | |
| And, Pastor, I want to ask you this question. | |
| You're a man that loves the Holy Spirit, and that's why we love the fact that you're on this broadcast with us today. | |
| You know, during your time with the Holy Spirit, you said that you were able to discern five distinct types of heavenly languages spoken. | |
| Now, I want to ask you, what were these languages and why are languages important? | |
| Why do we need to know about five different distinct heavenly languages spoken? | |
| Well, first of all, language is communication. | |
| There are different languages in the sense that the communication of heaven, the Holy Spirit, is in charge of the communication of heaven. | |
| He's the one who directs it, not only in heaven itself, the things that I've learned, but also between the body of Christ and heaven, as it were, and as he speaks to us. | |
| But in the vision of the lion's army, what happened is that there was a specific place where the lion's army had won a significant battle against idolatry in America and coming against the body of Christ. | |
| And after they won that significant battle, they began to speak. | |
| And while I was watching this in the spirit, in the vision, there were five types of languages that were being spoken by them. | |
| The first was languages of warfare. | |
| And warfare meaning they were binding, loosing. | |
| They were confronting various evil spirits and they had authority in their voice. | |
| In every vision I've ever had from God, the body of Christ had authority and they commanded and the demonic spirits had to obey. | |
| The second type of language was language of worship. | |
| There were many of them that were speaking and they were singing. | |
| They were praising. | |
| They were offering unto the lion of Judah that praise and adoration for defeating the enemy. | |
| And it just filled the atmosphere. | |
| And what's interesting is that many times it was not only the atmosphere that was verbal, audible with words and singing, but then there would appear kind of like swirling colors, like a rainbow. | |
| And, you know, the rainbow in Ezekiel 1, the end of the chapter, also in Revelation, you find that both Ezekiel and John talked about the rainbow that was associated with the throne of God. | |
| It's about rulership. | |
| It's about authority. | |
| It's about power. | |
| And that was all entwined in the worship. | |
| So language of warfare, language of worship. | |
| The third was language of creativity. | |
| In other words, they were building God's kingdom. | |
| There are languages that God, the Holy Spirit, uses us when we speak in tongues, when we decree, when we worship the Lord, all those things. | |
| Part of the languages begin to create the future. | |
| They create what God has for us here on the face of the earth. | |
| And we are giving faith and authority and lending to that. | |
| The fourth language was the language of communication between angels and the warriors, because the angels were the ones who were empowering and doing much of the warfare. | |
| And they were responding to the word of God, even as it came out of the warriors' mouths. | |
| And the Bible says that we speak in the tongue of men and of angels. | |
| So therefore, there were angelic languages that were involved in this whole process. | |
| The fifth were languages of the word. | |
| Now, that sounds interesting, doesn't it? | |
| In other words, as the righteous warriors spoke the word of God, they were doing it in various dialects. | |
| They were reciting portions of scripture. | |
| They were moving as the spirit gave them utterance, and the word was coming out of their mouths. | |
| And the word coming from their mouths had a tremendous effect in everything that was being done. | |
| But it also was inspiring. | |
| It was releasing the genetic code of what was in the word spiritually so that it could bring itself to pass by being spoken into the atmosphere. | |
| Those were the five languages that the lion's army was speaking after this great victory. | |
| Wow. | |
| That's powerful. | |
| Listen, Pastor, you are talking our language. | |
| Can I say that? | |
| Because I was just telling Ricky, isn't it amazing that the devil, the enemy, is trying to replicate what he just taught through artificial intelligence. | |
| It's all about language. | |
| That's right. | |
| Trying to change the language. | |
| And I want to tell you something. | |
| We are parallel with Bible prophecy and scripture right now and where we are in the development of the linguistics of how technology is developing each and every single day. | |
| And as we're watching and as we're standing here and understanding what the world is going to look like tomorrow, we understand that God was the originator or the OG when it comes to linguistics and language. | |
| Yet, if you don't align in the language, how can you even understand what is being spoken? | |
| It's like I tell my kids, if I start speaking to you in Spanish, they won't understand the directions I'm trying to give them. | |
| But if they align with my language, now they can pay attention and be alert. | |
| This is one of the disconnects in the body of Christ that we have not understood the language of heaven when it comes to different seasons in our lives, when it comes to different missions that we ought to do. | |
| That's why you have evangelists that should be pastors and you have pastors that should be evangelists. | |
| Uh-oh, I'm going to get in your business now. | |
| Now you have people that are writing books that should never be writing books. | |
| Now you have people that shouldn't be worship singers. | |
| You understand what I'm saying? | |
| Because we have not understood the language of the mission that God has for each and every single one of us in the army of the Lord. | |
| And if you want to learn more about it, I want you to get this book, The Lion's Army, Discover the Ways of the Spirit for the Last Days. | |
| This book is available for you right now through our website, jimbakershow.com. | |
| And Charisma is the affiliate page that this is available. | |

| He's losing his Hispanic accent. | |
| You're helping us preach the gospel and bring powerful guests like Pastor Mike Thompson. | |
| And I want to tell you something. | |
| Your support every single month, I want to tell you that is making a miracle take place here at Morningside. | |
| We are almost to the end of our debt, and you have been the one that has been answering the call by standing with us every single month, by ordering the products, but more than that, by saying, Pastor Ricky, Pastor Mondo, Brother Jim, Sister Lori, count me in. | |
| I want to be a monthly supporter of this ministry. | |
| Amen. | |
| We want to thank you for standing with this ministry. | |
| It's the reason we can bring wonderful guests and have the interviews that we do and talk about pretty much everything, Mondo. | |
|
Outpouring of the Spirit
00:06:15
|
|
| We cover every major topic on this broadcast, from the news to what's happening around the world. | |
| And friends, we bring it from a biblical perspective. | |
| If you're just tuning in, I recommend going back to the beginning of the show. | |
| We have Pastor Mike Thompson with us. | |
| Powerful. | |
| Powerful man of God. | |
| And Pastor, I want to ask you this question. | |
| Have you personally witnessed an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in recent times? | |
| Yes. | |
| I think that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, if I might define that just a little bit, my perspective is that when the Holy Spirit, you know, on day of creation, it says that he was brooding over the face of the deep and moving, that the Holy Spirit never left the earth after that. | |
| He's still brooding. | |
| He's still moving. | |
| He's still creating. | |
| He's still giving life to everything that God directs him to. | |
| And so in this time now, the dispensation of grace and salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ and everything, that what we find is that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, I believe, you know, like in Acts, where it says that he shall be poured out upon all flesh in the last days, that it's a constant recurring outpouring, not just a one-time and stop, that it happens every day. | |
| What I find is that a lot of people that I am engaged with and ministering to and have partnered with our ministry are having absolute individual, even though it's collective in the sense that you might have a hundred at the same time. | |
| They don't know each other. | |
| The Holy Spirit is being poured out. | |
| It's something that's a little bit harder or higher, I should say, than just than being spirit-filled. | |
| And I don't want to minimize that. | |
| It's something where there's a new dynamic that's coming because we're in a new Christian era and the Holy Spirit is moving and brooding and he is creating such a dynamic force of people being born again and called in. | |
| And people are being transformed. | |
| I mean, it's absolutely remarkable. | |
| They're being enraptured while they're in their homes. | |
| And, you know, or when they're at work or when they're talking with a few friends and the Holy Spirit, all of a sudden they are being filled and they're having dreams and visions. | |
| But even greater than that, I want to talk about it on a larger scale. | |
| What I witness in the spirit right now in the body of Christ on the face of the earth in America and other nations is at this moment, there is a new breath of the Spirit of God that is beginning to flow. | |
| And we have to be careful and not try to confine it to what we experienced in past ones. | |
| We must allow the Spirit of God to do what is necessary. | |
| We must tap into that. | |
| We must have discernment and we must flow with what he is doing in the present now. | |
| And I see people, in fact, my wife is the one that brought this to my attention. | |
| She made this statement and she said, Mike, do you think that 20 years from now, they're going to look back on this time right now, 2025, and call this the internet revival? | |
| And I went, wow, you're right, hon. There is mass outpouring and revival that's happening significantly through social media, through other forms of the internet, as well as through just relational touching and changes and evangelism. | |
| It's significant. | |
| Outpouring of the Spirit of God is happening now. | |
| Amen. | |
| So, Pastor, where have you seen the enemy attack the most in our world? | |
| Well, I think that, you know, tapping into and associating earlier with that when I was talking about lying unity, I think the deception that we have just gone through over the last four years has been so dramatic that it caused oppression to come upon the earth, come upon most of the nations and societies. | |
| And what's happened is that we have gone through a resistance movement of warring against the enemy trying to rob what is rightfully ours, our covenant rights, our life in the Lord, diminish our faith, rob our blessings, as it were. | |
| And I think he's used so many different ways to do that, but it's been dark deception. | |
| I firmly believe beyond a shadow of a doubt, and what I have been ministering to people on recently is that our warfare is changing because we are now shifting from warring to keep it from being stolen, warring from resisting, I should say, even now to reigning. | |
| It is going from resisting to reigning. | |
| One of the things that the Lord is doing is healing the body of Christ of the PTSD from the last four years and is releasing us to go into who Jesus created us to be for the next four years. | |
| It's a significant time. | |
| Praise God. | |
| You know, Mondo, the Bible says in Joel chapter 2, we see it again in the book of Acts that the Lord will pour out his spirit on all flesh. | |
|
Prerequisites To Be Used By God
00:04:19
|
|
| That should be one of the most encouraging things, Mondo, is the fact that it's not just men, it's not just women, it's not just free, it's not just it's Mondo, it's all flesh. | |
| It's not just the fact that it's one group, one sect. | |
| And I think that we need to embrace that as the body of Christ because we've seen some divisiveness in the church where it says, well, you have to be X, Y, and Z to be called by the Lord. | |
| You have to have these prerequisites to be used by God. | |
| Pastor, just a couple of minutes left in the broadcast. | |
| If someone doesn't know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, what would be the message you would share with them today? | |
| I'd like them to know that the Lord Jesus Christ has a life for them that will raise them into the place that they have dreamed in their heart. | |
| Every single person has dreams and desires. | |
| They want to know why they are born, why they exist, why they are here. | |
| What can they achieve? | |
| And in the natural realm, their heart is reaching out to try to achieve those things. | |
| But it can never fulfill what it is that the heart really needs, and that is a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. | |
| And that relationship is something that is so easy, easy to achieve and to find. | |
| And that's by in your heart, hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit. | |
| Right now, anyone who is listening to me and you've never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, there's something going on in your heart, on the inside of you, not in your head, but in your heart, that says, I need Jesus. | |
| That is the answer. | |
| That's the fulfillment. | |
| That's the purpose that I've been looking for my entire life. | |
| And at this moment, you can just simply respond to that tugging going on and just say, Jesus, come into my heart. | |
| I believe that you died for me, were raised from the dead, that you went to heaven to make a home for me. | |
| I accept you as my Lord and Savior at this moment. | |
| Come into my heart and I'm going to trust you and serve you for the rest of my life. | |
| It's that easy. | |
| Praise God. | |
| Amen. | |
| Friends, if you prayed that prayer, go get in a good Bible-believing church. | |
| Go get baptized. | |
| Go post on every social media platform you have. | |
| Call all your friends and family and say, I am a member of the body of Christ. | |
