Brave Faith Brings Bounty
00:06:28
|
|
| So Jesus says to Peter, lunch out into the deep. | |
| So Peter says, look, man, I'm a fisherman. | |
| You can speak pretty good to these folks, but you know nothing about fishing. | |
| Fishermen in those days fished at night. | |
| They put a lamp over the bow of the boat and the fish would attract it to the light and then they caught them in their fishes, in their nets rather. | |
| So you don't fish during the day. | |
| But Peter says, nevertheless, I've heard you talking. | |
| I'll do what you tell me to do. | |
| And Simon said to him, Master, we have toiled all night. | |
| Ever felt you've been toiling all night, Jim Baker, and weary and have taken nothing. | |
| Nevertheless, at thy word, I will let down the net. | |
| Blessing comes in obedience. | |
| Obedience and blessing are tied at the hip. | |
| Whenever you obey the prompting of God, something changes, a gear shifts in your life. | |
| Because God will move heaven and earth to get blessing into someone who will obey his voice. | |
| Amen. | |
| That's the key of blessing. | |
| Obedience is better than sacrifice. | |
| So he says, I'll do it. | |
| I'll do it. | |
| So the Bible says this. | |
| And when they had done this, verse 6, they enclosed a great multitude of fish. | |
| Listen to the next part. | |
| And this is the bit that blows my mind. | |
| And their net broke. | |
| Wow. | |
| How in the name of goodness do you land a great draft of fish in a broken net? | |
| I've got news for you. | |
| God has means of meeting your need beyond anything that you know in the natural. | |
| God deals in the supernatural. | |
| And somehow, when this net broke, the fish stayed together. | |
| Wow. | |
| Yes. | |
| Amen. | |
| It's insane. | |
| But I'm here to tell you, if you obey his voice, launch out in the deep. | |
| Go against everything that your mind tells you what is correct and proper and says, I don't care. | |
| I may be the fool for today, but I'm going to be obedient. | |
| The biggest fool that's ever been is a guy that built a boat. | |
| It's going to rain. | |
| Who's this silly man that's going to rain? | |
| What's rain? | |
| It never rained until the day, until that rain, the flood. | |
| You are the biggest fool until the first drop of water falls from the sky, and then you're the smartest person in the world. | |
| And I'd rather be a fool in the eyes of the world and know that God is for me than be a wise guy in the eyes of the world and be a fool in the eyes of God. | |
| Amen. | |
| So the net broke. | |
| I'm praying today that watching me, there are enough folk that love this ministry that we are going to see one of the greatest harvests that we've ever seen in our lives. | |
| I pray that the nets of this ministry will burst with a miraculous provision of God in the name of Jesus. | |
| I pray that the systems, the computer systems are going to be overloaded, that the phone system is going to be overloaded, that the thing's going to break because of the power and the demonstration of God's word in people's lives. | |
| Now listen to this. | |
| This is insane. | |
| And they beckoned, verse 7. | |
| What does it say? | |
| And they called unto who? | |
| Their partners. | |
| Their partners. | |
| Peter had partners. | |
| Jim Baker has partners. | |
| I'm a partner of Jim Baker. | |
| So Peter, can you imagine a fisherman? | |
| And his nets have broken. | |
| The biggest fish catch he's ever seen in his life. | |
| Now what you don't understand in Scotland, we've got huge fish markets and they come in, they land the boats. | |
| It's an amazing thing to watch. | |
| And now the technology has taken over. | |
| They land ridiculous amounts of fish. | |
| But what would happen when I was a young boy, there was some families all owned these boats. | |
| And when a storm would come, all the guys would tie up their boats. | |
| But there was a few families. | |
| The Buchans were one family. | |
| And they would go out when no one else would go out into the worst weather and they would catch fish when no one else was catching. | |
| They had more courage than anybody else. | |
| So when they would come back into the harbor and tie up at the fish market, there was no other fish to buy but theirs. | |
| So all the guys that bought the fish for all the fish and chip shops and all the restaurants all over Europe, instead of having a whole market to have to auction off, they just had this one boat. | |
| And the prices of their fish would quadruple and go up five or ten times because there was no option. | |
| They had to buy the fish. | |
| Let me tell you something. | |
| When you're brave enough to stand up in the middle of a storm and say, I'm believing God for a mighty draft of fish in the middle of a storm when everybody else is running away, that's when the value of your faith becomes fact in people's lives in your life. | |
| So Peter called for his partners, James and John, and they came out and they beckoned on their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. | |
| And they came and they filled both ships so that the boats began to sink. | |
| The nets have broken. | |
| Two boats are stuffed to the gunwales with fish and they're about to sink. | |
| That's what I call the profession of God. | |
| And I pray right now over this ministry that this thing is going to be full to the gunwales. | |
| That's an old word. | |
| I don't know if you understand. | |
| The gunnels is the top of the boat. | |
| And I've seen boats come into our harbor and have so much fish that literally they are running with the edge of the boat just above the top of the water. | |
| And if it'd been a rough day, the boat would have sank. | |
|
Holy Ghost's Mighty Harvest
00:00:24
|
|
| And them coming up filled, you say, oh, look at that Boot, she's full to the gunwales of fish. | |
| And I'm going to tell you something: that God is about to bring a mighty catch into this ministry, a mighty harvest, a mighty return, because He is speaking right now. | |
| The Holy Ghost, the same Holy Ghost that set our feet dancing, the same Holy Ghost that kept us up till five o'clock in the morning, the same Holy Ghost that created morning sight. | |
