Does Your Bible Pass the Test?

Beloved, Prosper And Be Healthy 00:03:08
I have a Bible test.
I really do.
For every Bible.
And it's a multiple test, but the main, the first one, I go over here.
Do you want to go with me?
You have a Bible there?
Take one of these.
Take one of my Bible.
Boy, I love this one here.
This is one of my favorites.
It's beautiful.
You sent me the large print Bible.
I love this large print.
I guess I'm getting older.
Does anybody have King James Bible?
I have a parallel right here.
Go to 3rd John.
Okay, if you have a Bible.
The 3rd epistle of John.
Read verse 2.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
That's wrong.
First of all, most of those words aren't even in the original translation.
If you'll study it, you'll see this.
Above your soul salvation, more bad doctrine has been built on that one verse than probably any other verse.
The whole prosperity teaching almost comes above all, above all, it says, above all things that thou may prosper.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers.
Okay.
So above all, you mean God wants you to love money?
They call prosperity money.
So above all, God wants you to prosper more than he wants you to love him?
That's not what the Bible says.
You need the whole Bible.
Above all, God says what?
You're to love God, and then you're to love your neighbor as yourself.
That's the second one.
So I studied this word by word by word.
And many of these words, they're not in the Greek.
They're not in the original translation as well.
This was just one place where they really messed up in the translation.
And so I go to your new Bible, this amazing modern English version.
Yes.
And I read my test verse, okay?
Could I read this now?
Please.
This is 3rd John, the third epistle of John, because there's only one chapter of it.
Beloved, that was right, okay.
Right.
I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, even as your soul is well.
The Greeks basically says, just pray that you'll have a good journey through life, even as your soul has a good journey to heaven.
Well Gospel 00:00:23
This straightens.
Listen, I raise more money off this, the other way, the scripture, above all, God wants you to prosper.
And I had to not use it anymore because it's wrong.
So instead of the prosperity gospel, we should call it the well gospel.
That's well.
