[00:00:43]  Read verse 2.
[00:00:46]  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
[00:00:54]  That's wrong.
[00:00:56]  First of all, most of those words aren't even in the original translation.
[00:01:01]  If you'll study it, you'll see this.
[00:01:03]  Above your soul salvation, more bad doctrine has been built on that one verse than probably any other verse.
[00:01:13]  The whole prosperity teaching almost comes above all, above all, it says, above all things that thou may prosper.
[00:01:25]  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers.
[00:01:32]  Okay.
[00:01:33]  So above all, you mean God wants you to love money?
[00:01:39]  They call prosperity money.
[00:01:40]  So above all, God wants you to prosper more than he wants you to love him?
[00:01:45]  That's not what the Bible says.
[00:01:47]  You need the whole Bible.
[00:01:50]  Above all, God says what?
[00:01:51]  You're to love God, and then you're to love your neighbor as yourself.
[00:01:55]  That's the second one.
[00:01:57]  So I studied this word by word by word.
[00:02:02]  And many of these words, they're not in the Greek.
[00:02:05]  They're not in the original translation as well.
[00:02:07]  This was just one place where they really messed up in the translation.
[00:02:12]  And so I go to your new Bible, this amazing modern English version.
[00:02:20]  Yes.
[00:02:20]  And I read my test verse, okay?
[00:02:24]  Could I read this now?
[00:02:25]  Please.
[00:02:26]  This is 3rd John, the third epistle of John, because there's only one chapter of it.
[00:02:34]  Beloved, that was right, okay.
[00:02:38]  Right.
[00:02:39]  I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, even as your soul is well.
[00:02:51]  The Greeks basically says, just pray that you'll have a good journey through life, even as your soul has a good journey to heaven.

[00:03:02]  Listen, I raise more money off this, the other way, the scripture, above all, God wants you to prosper.
[00:03:08]  And I had to not use it anymore because it's wrong.
[00:03:13]  So instead of the prosperity gospel, we should call it the well gospel.
