It's so strange that the mainstream legacy corporate media seems to be on the side of, oh, Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida.
Here's Chuck Todd with a very peculiar prediction.
You know, this is a question where weather has suddenly become the entire ballgame.
It should be a real advantage for Ron DeSantis.
Here's the guy that has been building an organization longer than any other campaign.
He's got the governor on his side, who's got a built-in organization.
This is why you build an organization, is when the weather drops unexpectedly, are you going to get your people out, right?
So, in theory, this is all actually, I think, setting up really well right now for Ron DeSantis.

So what is that about?
Why is he talking about how, well, obviously bad weather is good for Ron DeSantis.
I mean, Ron DeSantis is from Florida.

I think it's just looking for any chance that Trump cannot win.
They're just looking for anything now.
Well, it's clear that it's got to be Nikki Haley's night.
Why?
Because Larry Hogan.
If this is the endorsement you get, cut nine.

I think we want to have the strongest possible nominee in November.
Polls show that that is Nikki Haley, that she's 17 points ahead of Joe Biden, and it's a toss-up with Trump and Biden, and DeSantis is losing.
So yes, I think it's time for the party to get behind Nikki Haley.
My friend Chris Christie dropped out of the race in New Hampshire.
I appreciate his effort, but I believe that Nikki Haley is the strongest chance for us to put forth our best possible candidate for November.

At this point, he unironically has more support from Democrats and never Trumpers who would otherwise vote for Biden.
He just lives in such a bubble.
They all do, all these people, Larry Hogan, Mitt Romney, the rest of them.
Nikki Haley herself, they genuinely, you said it the other day, they have no idea how they come across when they say things like this.

And then the most shocking of all, I don't know how this guy thought this is good, we have a donor for Nikki Haley who says on air that Democrats are funding her. So this is Andy Sabin on
Fox talking about a big fundraiser and who's going to be giving money to Nikki Cuttwelve. We
actually have a large fundraiser on the 30th of January at a major apartment in New York
City where we're raising a tremendous amount of money.
Believe it or not a number of it coming from Democrats.

It's just amazing.
They say he's the threat to democracy.
They're the one undermining it.
And then they're saying, well, if he wins, we'll just overthrow him anyway.

I'll be interested to see how that poll goes.
I have Trump at 50%.
Before you start, before you jump in, all right, with your expectations, I mentioned you're a military man, and I'd like to get your take on another story first before we get into the political question.
So, one of our callers called in to discuss this very disturbing story from NBC News.
Fears grow that Trump will use the military in a dictatorial fashion if he returns to the White House.
Sean, this is the nadir of fear-mongering.
You're a military man.
You serve for President Trump.
What is the left doing here with this kind of... I mean, this is what, like a 3,000-word article saying the military shouldn't obey the Commander-in-Chief if the people elect him?
They're out of control, aren't they, Short?
Yeah, more importantly, that story from NBC News was tempting.
The word you used is the right one.
Fear-mongering.
What they're trying to do... I mean, look.
Go back to 2016.
It was Russia, then it was... I mean, it never stops, right?
And the idea is, if this didn't get you to be wary of Trump, then we'll give you something new.
What is it going to take?
And I feel like it's like a timeshare sell, where they're like, well, that didn't get you to buy it.
What if we offer you a free bottle of booze?
What if we give you a free dinner?
And they're constantly trying to figure out what is it going to take to scare you when you actually read beyond the headline of that story, because I got the same thing that you did.
I thought, well, I want to see what this is.
It truly is fear mongering at its worst.
It talks about the people that he's appointed.
There's nothing that falls outside of the realm of how you do business in terms of Applying people there's nothing again.
I found that to be highly misleading at the very best but but also it undermines this question upon which the Republic was founded that we have a civilian Chosen by the people as the commander-in-chief.
It's not the job of the military to run themselves the point that I'm trying to make is They want to mislead you in the headline and the opening paragraph because nothing else in the story, nothing else that they actually bring up in that piece suggests anything of the sort.
So they throw a headline at you and a really captivating first paragraph and then nothing of the supporting interviews, documents, etc.
support the premise of the story itself.
Again, it gets you all riled up, and then you read it and you're like, this doesn't even match the headline.
Yeah, it is fear-mongering.
Okay, so talk to us, Sean, about the primary.
I heard this today.
Since 1972, only three Iowa primary winners actually went on to become the president.
Does tonight even matter, Sean?
So actually it does.
I think it matters because it's like when you and I spoke about the debates last time, I think people have been given a choice in this, in this Republican primary.
They've seen Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, Doug Burgum, Asa Hutchinson, Chris Christie, and they've made a decision.
They've, they've gone window shopping.
They've, they've gone and test driving the cars, if you will.
And they've come back and said, okay, we still want the Trump model.
And that's important.
Because I think it reassures, I mean, to the point of your story about the media, the never-Trumpers, they all want to create this narrative that there was a coronation of Donald Trump.
The bottom line is, no, there was a very vibrant and robust contest.
At the end of the day, voters will have chosen Donald Trump.
The thing that was interesting about the Des Moines Register poll that came out yesterday was in every single demographic, evangelicals, first-time caucus goers, old, young, every single demographic, save none, Supported Donald Trump.
And number two, I think the other thing that was really fascinating to me in the poll was the headline.
Again, this gets back to how we're fed information.
The headline was Nikki Haley now in second.
She had 20%.
Wow.
She's only 30 points down.
The thing that was really interesting though, in the poll, when you looked and saw how many people self-described themselves as quote, extremely excited about voting for Haley, the number was 9%.
Where was that 9% coming from?
Largely from independents and from Democrats.
Right now they estimate about 20-23% of the electorate will be independents and about 5-7% will be Democrats.
Which, by the way, somebody got mad at me for saying that earlier today.
Why are you telling the Democrats they can vote?
I'm not telling them that they can or should vote.
Those are the rules in Iowa and we need to know where people like Nikki Haley are getting their support because it's not from Republicans.
I don't think I'm telling anyone in Iowa anything they can't read in the Des Moines Register.
But the bottom line is, when you asked a similar question of Trump, caucus goers, how excited were they?
49% said that they were extremely excited about going to vote for Trump.
And when you added in very exciting, which I think is pretty close to the same thing, you got into the 80s.
My point in all this is that people are going to drive through wind and snow and broken
glass to get out and caucus for Trump at the almost 1,700 caucus sites at 7 o'clock tonight
in Iowa.
And they're not going to get out there for Nikki Haley.
So I think you should see a very, very good result for Trump.
And to your point about why this matters, it sends a very decisive message to all the naysayers that this process has taken place and a decision's been made.
I'm going to ask you what that means in practice afterwards, if that actually turns out to be the case.
