Doug Collins LIVE: America Unsettled
| Copy link to current segment

Time Text
Thank you.
All right, welcome everybody to America First.
This is Doug Collins welcoming you back after a wonderful long 4th of July weekend.
And for everybody who wanted to celebrate the 4th of July, God bless you.
Glad you're part of America First.
I mean, it is an exciting time coming back off of it.
Although after a three-day weekend, I have to admit, I'm a little bit tired coming back off of it.
Before we get into the, again, tragic news that we have seen, another shooting in Highland Park.
I want to get to that here in just a minute.
We'll talk about that.
But I do want to focus a little bit on coming out of the 4th of July.
It is amazing to me how people in cities around this country, the left has just sort of lost their mind, it appears, when it comes to celebrating anything that would have to do patriotic, anything with this country.
It's amazing how conservative.
And I think this is the part that we, as folks who are America First, Dr. Corker, myself, others, you know, as it comes along, conservatives, we take everything in stride.
We take good, we take bad.
We take the highs, we take the lows.
We fight to get out of the lows, we celebrate when the highs, and in our country we understand that there are cycles.
Liberals don't get it!
For liberals, it is always, if it's not their way, they're worse than a two-year-old who hasn't been changed in four hours and hasn't been fed.
Everything is a problem, and they complain about everything.
If they don't get everything their way.
And I want to just approve my point here.
I saw this is coming out of Florida.
And again, you know, DeSantis has done a great job down in Florida.
There's a lot of things, good things about Florida.
But remember, our cities are still run many times by liberals.
And this is what they put out.
They put this out on their social media platform and said this.
About the 4th of July.
A lot of people probably don't want to celebrate our nation right now, and we can't blame them.
When there is so much division, hate, and unrest, why on earth would you want to have a party celebrating any of it?
I can't, I mean, it's just amazing.
But then again, they continue.
But in all seriousness, you know in your heart, 4th of July fireworks are amazing, especially when you're standing in 90 degree heat, 100% humidity, next to 100,000 of your closest friends.
In that moment, something takes over and we all become united in an inexplicable bond.
Yes, America is in a strife right now, but you all know we're ready because we already bought the fireworks.
Really?
Being down around, I've been listening to a lot of them down here at the And then a lot of the blowback from the city of Orlando, what actually happened there.
They had to issue an apology.
They had to come back.
But it just really emphasizes this fact that liberals are very frustrated with this country when they don't get their liberal way.
When government's not informed, when they're not getting to do whatever they want to do and call it whatever they want to call it.
This is the part that so many of us have been frustrated by.
And whether it be here on America First with Dr. Gorka, whether it be on my podcast, the Doug Collins podcast, or any of the other Salem faculty, you hear it a lot.
We talk about what the problems are, but how do you fix them?
The difference in liberals is they just want to complain about it.
And if it's not their way, now what is amazing is, is if it goes their way, oh, they're happy little campers.
Oh, if it goes their way, if they get a decision or a judgment that is what they believe, oh, they're happy, happy as can be.
But unfortunately, some is not going as they like it right now, whether it be abortion, whether it be EPA and climate change or Ukraine or anything else.
It's just not going where they want it.
But turning, I'll be getting to that.
Just hold there.
You got me through three hours today.
We're going to get into this even further.
But I just had to, just had to just get it off the chest to start with.
Okay, liberals, be happy.
You're in a country in which you can do stupid stuff like that.
Where you can talk about where freedom of speech is actually something that we as conservatives believe in completely.
Where freedom of speech is something that you use because it was gained for you by people who fought and died for our country to have those rights.
So, you know, look, as far as I'm concerned, you're just using your rights.
Sometimes you just don't know how to use them.
But let's get into the story out of Highland Park.
This is another shooting, another Crazy individual who used a gun to do a heinous act.
I do not want to hear from anyone that calls and says this gun killed somebody.
That gun did not kill anybody.
The person behind the gun who pulled the trigger who loaded the gun was the one who killed.
Okay, let's just get this out of the way.
Now, what is happening now with the ruling out of New York City and everyone is upset about guns, and then also basically the phony gun bill that was just passed in Congress here just recently and signed by the president that really was told to you that, and then also basically the phony gun bill that was just passed in Congress here just recently and signed by the president that really
Nothing in that gun bill would have stopped this shooting or the Texas shooting or, frankly, any other shooting.
But what it does do is get us a step closer to universal background check.
If you've not read this, and I talked about this on Friday here on America First, we do not vote on words.
We don't vote on ideas.
We vote on words on paper.
And words on paper, when you look at that gun bill, let me just be very frank with you.
The Republicans who have been, you know, quote, A-plus NRA folks or are gun championing, They blew it on this one.
They completely messed this one up because they've changed the term of gun dealer, where it's no longer where you're buying and selling guns for a livelihood or to make a profit.
Now it's just a profit, which they don't even have to prove, which is the first step.
If they can call you a gun dealer, then say, why did you not get a background check?
Again, though, I will emphasize this again.
Please hear me.
This gun was purchased legally in Chicago.
This was not an illegal purchase.
It was not a straw purchase.
It was a legal purchase.
So as we get closer and closer into understanding this, you've got to understand that the thing that Democrats are finally trying to come out, liberals and gun control folks are finally coming to the position of is they're, they've not been truthful with themselves.
They've not been truthful with their constituents.
They've not been truthful with those around because at the end of the day, these, you know, at the end of the day, I'm often asked, well, Doug, what could stop these guns?
Don't have guns.
Then they're going to choose something else.
I mean, if you have a psychotic person who wants to kill somebody, they're going to find a way to do it.
You don't believe me?
Just go to London.
Okay?
Go to other places.
But here is the problem that we're having is that the Democrats are now having to come to the just reality that they have to do something that they know they can't sell and that most of the Americans will not ever tolerate.
And that is to only to say that these will never happen again, that we're going to pass laws, which is why they're finally having to come around to the Beto O'Rourke's of the world, the Swalwell's of the world, um, and others who say, we just got to buy the guns back.
We got to ban the guns.
The sad part about it is they're only wanting to buy back guns that only are occasionally used in, in, uh, murders like this.
But literally, if you don't believe me, we're going to play a couple of clips here.
I want you to see what they're actually saying.
Let's go to clip 10.
Yeah, it's hard to believe that these mass shootings with these high-powered weapons are going on in our country all too often right now.
And let me get Phil Budd to weigh in on that as well.
Phil, go ahead.
Boy, let me be blunt.
This country, I guess rightly so, was optimistic or at least positive in looking at bipartisan legislation on gun reform in this country.
A lot of it had to do with things like mental illness.
None of it, none of it had to do with the real issue, which is when you compare us to Asia or Europe, Those countries do not have automatic or semi-automatic weapons.
We do.
None of that legislation touched why we have dead people in this country.
So we can celebrate a bipartisan act to try to address things like mental illness and weapons.
But celebrating too much when you don't take a single semi-automatic off the street, unless it's in the hands of a mentally ill person you can already identify, not a celebration for me.
Wolf, we are way behind in this country.
And just look at the stats from Asia and Europe.
People die in this country from semi-automatics.
They don't in Europe.
End of story.
They hear it.
I mean, you could go right now and do the same.
Bill Mudd actually just said it.
He said, look, none of this actually happens.
And he actually referenced Asia, and he actually referenced Europe, in which he says they have no automatic and semi-automatic weapons.
Now, let's be very frank here.
You hear it from Dr. Gorka all the time.
You can hear it from me.
We do not have automatic weapons that just roam the street that can be purchased legally in this country by anybody.
They cannot.
They have to have a special license.
They have been banned for a long time.
A semi-automatic weapon is simply a weapon that you pull the trigger, one fire.
Pull the trigger, one fire.
The left is having to get used to this.
We're going to talk more about this as we go, but in the next segment I have my good friend John Solomon coming on.
We're going to talk about the left's chaos in this matter.
We'll see you back.
America First.
First, Doug Collins filling in for Dr. Gorka.
Oh.
Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you.
This is America First, and we are delighted to welcome our very special guest host, former Congressman Doug Collins.
All right, we're back here.
This is Doug Collins sitting in for Sebastian Gorka on America First.
If you want to join with us here, we got a lot to talk about today.
833-3GORKA or 833-334-6752.
But right now, I am pleased to welcome to America First and be with me today is John Solomon.
John is a good friend, someone who's out there just putting the truth into a lot of what's going on in Washington, D.C.
John, it's always good to have you.
Yeah, I seem to be with you Congressman.
Always enjoyed.
Happy 4th of July.
A little belated.
A little belated.
Hey, I always thought the 4th of July celebration, we can celebrate it for a week at a time, I think.
When you celebrate the greatness of this country.
Hey, I may have mentioned this in the first.
Did you catch the Orlando, how liberals just hate the 4th of July?
Oh my gosh.
I mean, putting it out that we don't want to celebrate the 4th of July right now because we're not happy.
The only reason you can say that, John, is because of the 4th of July.
It's just amazing.
Exactly.
It is.
It is.
Well, let's turn real quickly, though.
I mean, it is tragic.
And we had last night, and what is interesting to me is they're both relatively getting played, but the Chicago Highland Park, of course, is getting the most play.
It was at a parade in which this crazed individual took, you know, semi-automatic rifles and began shooting into a parade.
But you also had two Philadelphia police officers shot in Philadelphia.
I mean, it's almost like there's a, you know, especially when you look at how much has increased on attacks on police officers.
It's no wonder they're having trouble getting people to go into it.
John, is this now the time, and I played a clip earlier, where liberals are going to finally have to admit that It's that their emphasis is away from law enforcement, away from everything else.
If they really want to, you know, be honest with people, they're going to just have to come out and say like, uh, the, the old American president movie, I'm going to go after the guns.
They got to take the guns.
Yeah, listen, it's clear that the new law that was passed by a bipartisan majority would not have applied to this shooter in Illinois, at least not based on the facts that we now know 24 hours after.
So, right after passing a law they promised would help, we see another tragic shooting.
And I think you're right.
The ability to legislate this away is not possible right now.
There are many guns on the street.
Many lawful owners, and the only way you're going to get zero shootings in this country is to take guns away, I think, based on all the experts I talk about.
Now, there are ways to minimize the dangers, and some of those deal with the tougher stuff, things that we often don't want to address.
Mental illness, getting parents and family members and relatives to alert the law authorities when they think someone's in a bad way or in danger of harming themselves or others.
But a lot of what happens today in Congress has nothing to do with the reality of what these shootings ultimately turn out to be.
Well, John, you've also hit something there and I have went and I think I'm sure you've talked about this well enough so have others, but I have just lost it over the last couple of weeks trying to get someone to listen to the fact that this gun law that they just passed, bipartisan, however they want to frame it, was number one, it was It didn't do anything close to what they were claiming it would be, but it actually snuck in provisions.
One being the changing of what the definition of a gun dealer is from someone who does it as a livelihood.
And this opens up to the background, the universal background check.
Liberals are smart.
I will give them credit.
If their intention was to open up to where if I sold you a gun, just casually, you said, Hey Doug, I've got, you got a nine millimeter.
How can I buy it?
The way this law is written, words on paper, They could now classify me as a gun dealer, which would then kick in all the background requirements and everything else.
This is concerning.
How did Republicans miss that?
And why were they so willing to go along with something like that?
It's a great question.
I mean, the Mitch McConnell era of Republicanism, the fine print is often ignored or turns up after it's been passed, and we in the public are then stuck with the results of it.
But fine print matters in law.
We should know that now.
That's why Democrats so often sneak their bills in with just a few hours or two, three thousand pages long, and you get an hour or two to read them before you have to vote on them.
You know this.
You were in the chamber.
But the fine print matters.
Language matters.
And we have seen numerous instances in the last 20 years where fine print changes.
You go back to lawmakers, like, I didn't vote for that.
Yes, you did.
And it's been particularly prevalent in the Senate under Senator Mitch McConnell as Republican leader.
There has been a, hey, gang, I need you to vote for this mentality without actually vetting through some of the fine print that gets into these legislations.
Well, it goes back to something, John, that I have often said, and I've said it in committee hearings when I was in Congress myself and others, and because you hear all this, and how many times do you hear liberals talk about, well, this is what I think, this is what I believe, this is what I want, given that sort of amorphous, this is what we're voting on, and then you take a look at the bill itself, and so I've always made the statement, I said, in Congress, we do not vote on ideas, we vote on words on paper.
And there's a big difference there, and it's concerning to me, and maybe it's sort of philosophical for you here, John.
I'm beginning to believe we have too many lawmakers, and I'm going to say both parties.
I'm just going to include everybody here for a second.
When they get to Washington, because of all the other subtractions and everything else, They forget that legislating is their main job.
It's not all the other stuff.
The hearings are great.
The YouTube videos are fun.
Look, we've all been a part of it.
I have.
Everybody else.
But at the end of the day, you've got to step back and realize that legislator is on your name.
That's what you're supposed to be doing.
And that requires a lot more.
Do you think we're missing that?
Or are we having a generation that doesn't believe that legislating is in those fine details?
Well listen, there are many examples where due diligence isn't done by Congress on a daily basis.
Whether it's the negative effect to the budget, someone will pass a bill and say it's net neutral, and we'll find out months later it's billions of dollars not net neutral, or not net zero.
Often, how many times in the last year have we confronted lawmakers and say, I can't believe you, that wasn't in the bill.
Like, yes it was.
You know, if we signed a mortgage contract and didn't know what the terms are, we ourselves would be responsible for the failure.
But there doesn't seem to be much of a consequence for members of Congress in not understanding what it is they're voting for or not giving themselves enough time to understand it, which I think is one of the things under Democratic control of the House and Senate has been a problem.
Jamming these bills out, forcing a vote real quickly before people can read it and find out what really is going to be the impact on their constituents.
It's shameful.
It's not how business works.
It's not how everyday Americans manage their budgets or their contracts.
But it does seem to be the way a wayward Washington does business and we're all paying for the results.
I agree.
One of the things, and we got just a short moment here, and you're going to be staying through the break with us, so we got some more to talk about, but I just want to emphasize that.
How many times do we have a lot of legislators now, you know, who are either older, they don't read a computer, they don't see it in a paper, and it is, you know, looking at it from the younger generation of staffers, who even conservatives have a different viewpoint Then many of us because they don't look at it in the longer picture.
They have a shorter time reference real quickly.
John, do you see that also is another issue that we're dealing with in Washington?
We have sort of two classes.
You have the elected class.
You have the unelected classes doing things on Capitol Hill.
Yeah, listen, the same problem that we see in the federal bureaucracy exists on Capitol Hill.
You have these staffers doing a lot of the work for their bosses, and their bosses seem to be unaware of it.
That doesn't exempt the bosses, but it is a reality of what goes on on Capitol Hill.
It is.
Well, folks, John, you're going to stay with us here.
We got to take a break here in just a minute.
But we've got, again, what I want to hit when we get back is we've got some Supreme Court decisions that actually hit at what we just talked about a little bit from the bureaucracy standpoint.
And when the bureaucracy gets involved, then we're starting to hit at the very engine that drives D.C.
And this EPA ruling out of West Virginia begins at least to hope start to chip away and maybe we'll see it in EPA, ATF.
Looking forward to talking to you more about this.
This is Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka here on America First.
We're talking to our friend John Solomon.
Go take you a quick break, get refreshed because we're just us getting started right here on America First.
America First
America
First America
First America
First America First
America
First America First All right.
Welcome back, everybody.
It is America First.
This is Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka.
We are excited to be filling in.
If you want to be a part of the show today, 833-334-6752, 833-3GORCA to be a part.
Get your calls in.
We'll start taking calls.
But right now I have on, still with us, John Solomon.
And I'm excited to have John.
John, we've come through a lot here in the last little bit with the Supreme Court.
We've had some good.
We've had a, you know, we've had a, it's amazing to me, the good cases that we feel like actually the court is getting back to originalists, you know, we're celebrating.
And even in the ones that we don't like, Mexico, the stay in Mexico policy, we can at least see, and conservatives aren't just losing their mind over these quite like the left is.
But after we got this session, we're starting to see this full 6-3 or 5-4 court, however you want to determine wherever Roberts lands on a certain day.
But there's some exciting cases also coming up.
And we'll look backwards, but look forward.
If you got some, especially this EPA case, I want to get your take on that.
But what are some things that you may be looking forward to as well?
I think the single most important thing the Supreme Court did on Friday in its final day was to accept a case from North Carolina on reapportionment and redistricting that actually is a much larger case.
It is a case about whether the Constitution literally gives The state legislature's ultimate authority to set the time and manner of elections.
As we know, there have been several legislatures in the last couple years that tried to pass meaningful election reforms to make it harder to cheat and easier to vote.
And Democratic governors, though the Constitution doesn't mention anything about a governor having say over elections, got in the way.
Similarly, courts have gotten in the way of redistricting by state legislatures
The Supreme Court took this case, and I think it could have a profound effect on the 2024 election, because if legislatures can act on their own without a court or governor getting in the way, then Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and states like Michigan, where a Republican legislature and a Democratic governor have butted heads on election reform, the legislatures would have supreme authority, should the court rule that way.
The single most important case, I think, Maybe in a generation on election law, if the court rules the way that we suspect it will.
I would agree with you there.
John, is it becoming concerning to you, John, especially with elections?
And I'm not getting in, you know, this is not, you know, the re-litigating or anything, but it's just an honest statement.
I've seen now progress since really 2000, okay?
Everybody wants to think that the election controversy started in 2020.
That's just bull.
It didn't happen.
You're right.
And all of it, frankly, up until what we saw recently was the left having issues with elections and tearing down the integrity.
That concerns me, John.
That's why I'm glad to see this court took the case and we're trying to find this out.
We're seeing more election reform done because if we lose the fact of either side or all sides losing our election formatting in our election, then that's really the glue that's always held us together.
Everybody talks about the Bill of Rights, which is all there, but it's that ability to go cast your vote and trust the results.
And I think that's what we've got to get back to here a little bit.
Oh, absolutely.
And, you know, the biggest new factor in elections is we have these powerful bureaucrats, like the Wisconsin Election Commission, like certain secretaries of states, who have made up law on their own that the legislature has never granted them.
And you see them making rules that were never legislated, such as no-excuse absentee ballots and things like that.
This case is designed to do to election regulators, potentially, what the West Virginia EPA case did to federal regulators, which is, listen, if you don't have the authority, you don't get to make up the law.
And I think that that's where this court may be heading with this very, very important ruling.
I think so as well.
John, one of the things that I wanted to emphasize there, and I'm glad you brought up the EPA case, because now for the first time, you know who I believe actually quietly is terrified by the West Virginia case?
Congress.
Yeah, I agree.
Because Congress, I mean, I've fought for this so long.
You know, you've got to actually do something here.
I had the several acts of the bills that put forward where if it was a certain threshold, it had to come back to Congress.
You would not believe the pushback that I got, John.
Anyway, what's cooking in John's world?
What do y'all got?
What's the big investigating world?
What are we going to see on Nosh News?
We're going to continue to work on some of the January 6th stuff, because while the January 6th committee has us distracted with young White House aides trying to tell us hearsay stories, there is a real security issue in the Capitol.
I've talked to over two dozen members of the police force there.
They say to a T that the Capitol is no more secure than it was on January 5th, which, by the way, wasn't very secure.
I really want to focus on what did Nancy Pelosi know?
What did the team around her know?
What did the police department know and should have conveyed to her?
And we have some more stories coming up on that in the next 48 hours.
Some new documents, intelligence documents.
They're going to show they knew everything that was about to happen and they didn't act properly.
All right, folks.
Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka.
Always great to have THE John Solomon.
Looking forward to talking to you.
John, thanks for being part of us.
Thanks, Congressman.
Good to be with you.
All right, we'll be back here.
Get your calls in.
in, we'll be ready to go here in just a few minutes on America First.

This is America First, and we are delighted to welcome our very special guest host, former Congressman Doug Collins.
All right.
We are back.
This is Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka here on America First and we're going to hit you with everything we've got today because the liberals can't stand it when conservatism moves forward and that's what we're excited about today.
I started off the hour talking about the really the fact that liberals now are going to have to You know, if they want to continue this discussion on guns and continue this idea, their own base is not buying it anymore.
And look, the issue here is the constitutional right, the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
I mean, this is the issue.
They don't like it.
They want to move it away.
And now, after another shooting in Highland Park, they're finally, some of them are finally joining the Beto O'Rourkes and bowing to the Eric Swalwells of the world.
And they're just saying, look, we just want to get rid of guns.
They're just opening it up and saying, look, we just want to get rid of the guns.
And this is the thing that I have said all along about Democrats, that at a certain point in time, could you have imagined that to be at a time to be a conservative right now is the best time?
Because you have the right answers on your side and the left is finally having to own up to the fact that things that they would never say in public before.
And one of those things is they never wanted to talk about actually taking guns over the last couple years.
They've actually just come up.
Some of them have been more radical.
Now you're seeing it more and more as we go through.
But you don't believe me?
Here it is.
Another example.
We already talked about one.
Let's hear it again.
Clip number 11.
This morning, I got up like most Americans, like the families of the six who were killed to celebrate Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Those six families no longer have that opportunity.
My heart goes out to those families who will never see their loved ones again, and I've made it clear to both Governor Pritzker and Mayor Roedering that I would do whatever I can at the federal level to get them the resources they need, not just to catch a shooter, but to help Highland Park recover from this tragedy.
I was just on the phone with Senator Durbin, who is driving here as quickly as he possibly can to come to Highland Park.
And he also sends his condolences and his thoughts.
And you know, he and I recently in the Senate, last month, proved that bipartisan compromise on gun safety is possible.
Today, we have seen that we can't just stop there.
We have to do more to keep our community safe.
We have to get rid of assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, and so many other additional common-sense reforms that wide majorities of Americans are crying out for.
And so today I will go home and hug my babies a little tighter in gratefulness that they are safe, but I think about The babies and the families who lost moms and dads and grandparents today.
And we must and must do more.
I just listened to the sound of that gunfire from one of the videos that was captured.
And let me tell you that the last time I heard a weapon with that capacity firing that rapidly On the 4th of July was Iraq.
It was not the United States of America.
We can and we should and we will do better.
Look.
No one including myself who is also in the military and Air Force and Air Force chaplain who's dealt with this.
I was in Iraq in 2008-2009.
Look, I've heard, you know, the sounds of gunfire and fire and anger.
I've seen it in riding along with my local police forces and listening to the stories that are being told.
The issue that we have is that What she clarified there in the middle was she said, well we passed this bipartisan, you know, gun reform.
There's nothing that they passed that would have stopped this shooting.
Nothing!
And you know, the question just begs even more here.
Look, I am heartbroken for those families.
I am heartbroken that those families are now dealing with death on a day that should be a day of happiness and a day of praise.
And there's nothing that makes me sadder than to see a lunatic who actually used this, who'd been planning it on social media and others.
This goes to a breakdown, that he goes back to his mother's house.
His mother said he didn't have any idea what he was doing.
I mean, have we become this dysfunctional as family units in our society that we don't even know what's going on with our kids?
It's just amazing to me that people living in our own house, we don't even have communication with, is the breakdown that severe.
But this is what we're seeing.
But she then goes on, Senator Duckworth there, then goes on to say that we've just got to take the assault weapons.
Please, Senator Duckworth, define an assault weapon for me.
Because at the same point in time, you're standing just outside of Chicago, which has one of the highest murder rates in the country, which almost 95% of them or more have nothing to do with the quote, guns that you were talking about.
But yet I don't hear you talking about those.
I hear you talking about the ones that make the highest profile.
That also, if you account for the number of deaths in America by guns, they rank below beat, beatings with hands, blunt force trauma, and knife killing.
Rifles are not the weapon of choice.
Although they're high profile, you do see them in these kind of instances that people use them.
Again, the vast issue when people talk about gun violence, gun violence has to do with more handgun orientated, which she doesn't even address, doesn't even mention, but she's going to have to because she wants to get rid of it.
She's got to say that they don't matter.
Why does this matter?
It matters because I believe right now you're putting up stuff that the Democrats can't do.
Let's go to clip two.
What in your estimation should they, President Biden, but also Chuck Schumer and those on Capitol Hill, how should they be navigating this?
They should stop putting up votes that they cannot win because when you keep losing votes, you know what you look like to the public?
A loser!
I have been watching Hispanic focus groups from several states now for over the past three months.
Every single time they say, yes, we like the policies of Democrats, but they can't get anything done.
And at least Donald Trump was good on the economy.
However you feel about that statement, that is the idea that is seeping through the general public right now.
It is the secret.
It is what's sensing through the general public.
And she noted Hispanic voters.
Hispanic voters were looking for what they came to America for.
And especially if they're immigrants in here or they are Hispanic, are hardworking, they want the economy to work, they're keeping their families together, they want that kind of cohesiveness.
And what they're afraid of right now, what Democrats are afraid of, is that these policies that they've been pushing, the Biden administration policies of just basically going out there and giving show votes, is not making a difference when it comes to the electric.
And when it's not coming to the electric, when people are actually seeing that they're basically their whole agenda is not there when their whole agenda is something that they're just trying to tell people and do smoke and mirrors to tell you it's actually going to work.
That's when people go and they vote for conservatives.
That's why we got to be a part of this.
Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka getting part of the program 833-33 Gorka or 833-334-6752.
8333-GORCA or 833-334-6752.
We'll be back in just a minute.
Thank you.
Text.
Okay.
Going on the scales again today.
I've lost another two and a half pounds.
Guys, that's beyond my wildest dream.
I'm pushing 35 pounds I've lost in less than three months.
How?
Because her PhD weight loss and nutrition system is super easy.
No calorie counting, no stupid starvation diets, and no craves.
It's the easiest.
It's the only diet I've been on ever.
That truly works.
20 years of trying to lose the weight.
I'm now within striking distance of my target weight.
My wife is ecstatic.
And even Mike Gallagher, he's lost 50 pounds.
Find out for yourself.
It's an amazing system.
Please call 828-552-3333.

Sebastian Gorka here on America First.
Closing out the hour, I just have to say this.
It is amazing that when you represent people and it doesn't go as you planned.
Ileana Omar was in her hometown in Minnesota at a concert with a Somali singer.
It didn't go as planned.
Let's play clip four.
Thank you.
Please.
No, please.
Please, no please.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, we don't have a list.
William A, William A, William A, William A.
Well, as you can tell, that didn't go too well.
You know, I think it's a good thing.
Interesting enough.
You know, they always like to show when, you know, five people are in the back or booing President Trump whenever he gives a speech, former President Trump when he gives a speech.
And it's just amazing that nobody wants to show this.
And it is even better that when she puts this out on her social media, that clip seems to be shortened out by about 14 seconds.
I guess you don't want to push the bad publicity.
Maybe you just shouldn't have put it up there to start with.
A lot of the folks up there in Somalia, it's just amazing the reaction there.
She has a history of anti-Semitic comments.
She's heavily favored to win in her district.
It is interesting to see what all happened on this 4th of July.
You just don't show up all the time.
But you will never see this on the mainstream media.
They'll let you think that everybody is just plum happy with the squad.
Glenn and Phoenix, Bill and Atlanta, we will get to you after the top of the hour.
Looking forward to being back.
This is Doug Collins on America First, filling in for Sebastian Gorka.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
We'll see you on the top of the hour.
. - This is America First, and we are delighted to welcome our very special guest host, former Congressman Doug Collins.
All right, we're back, everybody.
Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka here on America First Radio Show Salem Network all across the country going at it.
And if you're live on Rumble, you can listen to as well.
You can also get my interspersed hits and misses playing the air drums.
Just letting you know, I am a complete virtuoso on the air drums, occasionally on the air guitar.
Maybe you'll get a little bit of a view of it.
Hey, before we get to calls, I wanted to hit on something.
ESPN censored the hot dog eating contest.
The Nathan's hot dog eating contest.
They censored it because I was on there.
The only reason I wanted to watch the hot dog eating contest was because Joychester, that man, that amazing man who eats 63 hot dogs in I think 12 minutes, actually did it while taking out a protester.
He did it!
So I was watching this yesterday.
I was watching with my wife, and my wife can't stand this.
She didn't want to watch it.
And I said, well, honey, just watch it for a minute.
I want to see him take out his protester.
We got to the end, no protester.
Then I went back and found out that ESPN undoubtedly censored the coverage later in the day because they didn't want to see Joey Chestnut, as American as you get, eating 63 hot dogs yesterday, while at Hot Dog 17, takes a protester in a choke hold, throws him down, and continues on and wins.
the whole hot dog eating contest.
Now, again, am I real big into hot dog eating contests?
No, but you got to admire somebody who can take on a protester and eat 63 hot dogs on July 4th.
God bless America.
All right, let's get on with Glenn in Phoenix, Arizona.
Glenn, welcome to America First.
This is Doug Collins.
How are we doing today?
I'm doing well.
I just wanted to get your, a taste of your opinion.
So yesterday, Putin initially, they had told us And I'm suspect when they come out white male because when the shooting's Latino or the shooting's black, and I'm Latino by the way, they never come out with the color when it's not white.
So when they came out initially yesterday and said it's a white male, I thought, huh, okay, but maybe they have video footage of this guy.
Okay.
So the police come out, they tell us white male for a while, then they come out and they amend it later, and they say, actually he was dressed as a woman, right?
So, it's the same thing with Uvalde police.
Initially there was a police officer there on the scene, and so my point is this, I'm starting to see a pattern.
I don't know if you're seeing this, and I'm hoping that other conservatives wake up to this.
That even the police have been politicized.
They're lying to us, brother.
They're lying to us.
So basically what we have here is we have a police come in initially telling us it's white male.
Everybody around there is looking for a white male.
Then they amend it later saying, well, no, he was dressed as a woman.
Well, hold on.
Why were you coming out initially with that on the record if you didn't even know that?
So what I'm saying is I just see the police being politicized.
Yuvalde, a couple weeks ago, you got the chief of police.
I mean, just a coward.
Just a straight-up coward.
And so, I don't know what your take is, but they're giving us a lot of false information with these shootings.
What is your opinion, sir?
Well, yeah, and Glenn, thanks for that.
I mean, we are getting, and I think this is the part that bothers me a great deal, because not only are you getting some false opinion, you know, some wrong answers to start with, you're also having to unpack it.
And I appreciate you calling, Glenn.
Thanks for calling in.
The one thing that is interesting of yesterday is that they did, it was an interesting way that they brought this all about.
And that was number one.
They were saying that, you know, white male was the first thing I heard.
Now, then later you heard it was dressed as a female.
Now, I mean, again, what is the determining factor?
Because I've been now hearing at a wig and everything else.
If someone was announcing this was a white male before they actually came around and said that he was a white male dressed as a female, then where did that come from?
And I think this is the part that I'm getting more and more concerned about as I watch the police in dealing with some of these issues as they go forward.
On how they present this and you talk about the Texas case, the Texas case is the one that the school shooting Evaldi is actually the one that bothers me the most.
Because as you look at the case it in Texas.
Almost everything we were told about that was wrong.
Almost everything we were told was wrong.
And it was not just one thing.
It was not just the suspect.
It was, but we were told.
I mean, if you remember, you know, coming back out that we were told that you know that Nobody really saw it coming, that he got in through a door that was, you know, that was left open.
It was not supposed to lock.
Then, you know, then they wasn't in there.
Then they followed him in there.
The timeline, you know, first his grandmother, he killed his grandmother, then he showed up over there.
And then we start finding out the actual timeline from the Department of Public Safety out in Texas.
And the determination was, we saw them actually standing in there for a long amount of time.
The police chief, in his mind, I think it was just the last few days ago, has been relieved there.
So, I mean, as we see this, More and more playing.
I think there's a couple things Glenn.
I think part of it is In some of these departments, there's this rush to get information out and You know, understand that they want to get it out and there may be some, you know, just assumptions being made.
And I think that is part of what we have.
But some of it, frankly, I think is trying to get too much information too fast, too much information out there that may or may not be wrong.
And in some cases, especially like Texas, the information being put out there is just flat wrong.
And I think that's the part.
That is more concerning to many of us, that you just see this information being wrong.
I remember, and this, you know, going back from my background, and many of you may not know, my father was a Georgia State Trooper.
For 31 years, Georgia State Troop, and I can remember, it was hard for me to find out what was going on in calls that he had, and that there was always this stoppage, if you would, between the police and the ones on the scene, and what they would actually give out.
Now I think there's becoming more and more of this, this understanding or this false understanding, in my opinion, that the military, that the police have to give out a response.
We're seeing in the military as well that they have to give an answer.
They have to give, you know, some kind of a, of an answer to these reporters that are asking questions.
I'm going to tell you what the, you know, especially if you're a police spokesman right now, if you're in these situations, the best thing that you can do probably sometimes we're still investigating is say, look, we don't know yet.
We're giving out information.
And you can still give out information to your own officers.
You can still put it out on your radio.
You can still put the calls in.
You can say, here's what we're looking for.
Here's who we're looking for.
But you don't have to run to the first camera and say, here's what we're saying.
And especially if it's wrong, and especially if it comes out and seems to be biased, as Glenn talked about here, that you're coming out from a perspective of just flat out wrong.
And I think that's the part that is disturbing more and more people as we begin to look at this.
But it goes back, I think, to a lot of the issues that we have seen in The Chicago incident is being talked about a great deal.
The Highland Park incident is being talked about a great deal.
The Philadelphia where two officers were basically and it's hard to even get information about the two officers being gunned down and you begin to wonder If you know they were being targeted, if they were being targeted, how were they being targeted?
What was going on?
But I've been looking across, you know, a lot of social media platforms.
I've been looking across a lot of news aggregators and everything else.
But you see very little about this Chicago police shooting.
Now remember, Chicago is one of the areas in Philadelphia and L.A.
and San Francisco and St.
Louis and others that are growing in violent crime.
We're seeing it all over.
And it does no good for a police department to come out and give information that they're not sure about, especially when people are watching as closely as they are.
So Glenn, thanks for the call.
I think that's where I'm seeing it.
I'm skeptical now of when I start hearing, you know, these initial reports because they're turning out to be spun and we don't need spin in these kind of reports.
We don't need spin in this kind of stuff going forward.
If you're out there and you want to get in on the shooting in Highland Park, you want to talk about what's going on in Washington or anywhere else, call us at 833-33-GORKA or 833-334-6752.
Love to have you be on the line today.
This is Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka.
On America First, another issue that I wanted to take up here as we get started is I don't know how many of you have watched, the New York Attorney General seems to have everything else in the world on her mind, except making New York safe.
Eric Adams, who came in with his former police officer, that he was going to do all this other stuff, and you know, more of a crime orientated, has basically shown up and he's actually said just the other day, he said, I didn't realize it was as bad as it was.
Okay, well, you live there, you were watching this, you know, how did you not know how bad this was?
And I think that's becoming something that we have to examine.
Why are we not seeing law and order put together?
Why are we not seeing common sense criminal justice reforms and issues going on?
This is kind of thing that we've got to put forward.
So what is the Attorney General of New York in light of everything else going on across this state?
She has decided, this is Attorney General Letitia James, is that a Democrat who has decided that she wants to go to Google and have Google Anybody who searches for abortion or that they will not have the location will not be provided for anybody offering abortion service organizations who do not provide abortion care.
So for all those faith-based organizations, all those organizations who are helping those in crisis pregnancies come forward and find out solutions, not just kill their baby, Attorney General James wants those to be removed from the Google search.
So when you look at this, I mean, look, these people are so obsessed with killing children in the womb that they're not even wanting to find help for those women who need it.
This is what we're seeing right now in liberal America.
That's what we're finding here.
Doug Collins on America First, filling in for Sebastian Gorka.
Take a deep breath, and we'll be right back.
Thank you.
- All right.
All righty, we're back here on America First.
Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka, who will be returning tomorrow.
And also I have to say is with all the guys here behind the scenes, we're doing it, getting it done, even through this holiday weekend and long weekend as it comes, but also with the best bumper music in the business.
Here we go.
Alright folks, you need to hear this.
The woke crowd seized control of America's public schools and universities.
Now a minority of loud woke voices are trying to take over America's corporations and businesses.
From Disney to American Express, more companies are taking positions on political issues they have no business taking.
Positions that align with woke activists, but no one else.
Not their customers, not their shareholders, or the majority of their employees.
It is why I'm excited to report that our friends at Job Creators Network are on the case.
They're pushing back against the leftist cultural wars being fought by corporations, but they need your help in fighting back.
To do what you can find out about, you can learn that you can go to rockthewoke.com and now to do your part.
Disney and the others have heard from Woke America.
It's time that they heard from the rest of us.
Go to rockthewoke.com now.
Don't let the woke crowd do to America's businesses what they have done to our schools.
Go to rockthewoke.com and help fund this fight.
All right.
I want to finish up on a topic we hit on.
If you want to be a part of today's show on America First, we'd love to have you.
We've had some callers in.
We'd love to have you get in here.
833-33-GORKA.
833-334-6752.
Just call in.
We look forward to having you.
I want to get back to this issue.
333-467-52.
Just call in.
We look forward to having you.
I want to get back to this issue.
It stuns me that not only is the left made abortion almost a – it is the touchstone of the left, and it is there almost with religious fervor.
They have to have the abortion.
They have to have the abortion.
ability to kill the unborn is part of their platform.
In fact, you've heard many from AOC to others say that if you're not pro-choice, you're really not in the Democratic Party, and they've made it such a touchstone.
And we talked about it before we went to break just a minute ago.
The New York Attorney General is demanding that Google remove from their search maps and process anybody that Googles abortion, they're demanding they take off any of the pregnancy clinics or others in which people can go and get help but not get an abortion.
and I mean she is so seriously out there on this issue that James claimed that Google had been previously informed about inclusion of crisis pregnancy centers and demanded the company address what she called misinformation in Wednesday's press release.
Given the Supreme Court's decision in overturning Roe v. Wade, It is more important than ever that New York stands strong in providing safe access to abortion, said James.
New Yorkers and others traveling to the state should trust that Google Maps will provide them accurate information and direct them to real and safe care.
My office will do whatever it is necessary to work with Google to make these changes and ensure that people can locate reproductive health facilities that they need.
I mean, again, folks, you wanna know how low the left will go when it comes to this issue of abortion?
All you gotta do is see it right there.
I mean, right here, you have the Attorney General of New York, who is so wrapped up in herself, so wrapped up in press releases, so wrapped up in doing everything else but keeping the people of New York City and the people of New York safe, as the top law enforcement officer there, and not doing
things like finding out why you have Manhattan D.A.s and other D.A.s in New York not prosecuting crimes, not looking into the fact that you have, you know, this rampant issue on the in the city there in New York City and across the state.
Instead of doing that job, She's out there wanting to make sure that you will not be fooled by Google search You're not gonna be fooled by those crisis pregnancy clinics that don't offer abortion in other words you want to know Have an option about choosing.
We don't want you to have an option.
They're not about pro-choice They're about you having an abortion if you type in abortion They don't want anybody else to get to you close to you or anywhere else because they are only Hearing from abortion providers, and that's what they want And so as we look at that, that is what we're working on to let you know as we go forward.
As we talk while we're on this topic of abortion, we've had George from Phoenix.
George, glad to have you here on America First.
Doug Collins.
Thank you, brother.
God bless you and everybody over there in the crew and their families for doing the work of true patriots and standing up for the ones who can't stand up.
Those are the little ones that are still trying to breathe the fresh air that God gave her.
You know, my question to you, because I'm a grandfather five times over, and a father three times over, four times over.
What gives them the right to take a life when their parents said, I love this child, I want to let them breathe?
Who gave them the right to be God?
But George, I'm going to ask a question back to you right quick.
Are you not seeing that in this generation?
This generation is getting more and more, and many, not all, but there are some, especially on the left, the indoctrination is that you have the right to be your own, in essence, choice maker of all that you do.
So my question is, as a grandfather, and as one that you're watching the little ones grow up and what they're teaching them, Yeah, unfortunately, you're so right, brother.
And that's just the way of the world now.
The Lord said it, you know, people will go on their own way to make themselves a bigger thing that they are.
You know, they're going to try to create their own God and their own self.
Which is the worst thing in the world, because one thing I do know, and I tell everybody, and I'm gonna say it over the radio, once you get in front of the father, and he states it, he knows your heart, he states it and asks you the simple question, what have you done for my kingdom?
What are you gonna say to that man?
And what are you gonna say to God when he asks you that?
Your knees will pop out of your legs.
You're gonna just, you're not gonna be able to answer it.
What, I killed a baby?
Or I influenced other children to be their own God?
Hello?
In the gun situation, I come from Cuba.
I've seen the communism.
It's horrible.
I've seen the race.
I've seen people be taken out of their own homes.
I was invited here by the late President Kennedy.
We were the last 1,100 to leave.
I love this country.
I will die for this country.
I'm 60 years old.
I love this country, man.
And I love all the patriots and all the Army men and women that have sacrificed their life.
God bless them all.
Amen.
George, thanks for being there.
You keep up the good fight.
Keep those grandbabies growing up in the right way.
I know you will.
Thanks for calling in to America First.
I mean, George puts it out right.
We've lost this idea that it is a responsibility to go forward.
And we've also been gaining the right from the left in the media that whatever you want to do is fine.
It's just up to you.
If you want to do it, it feels fine.
Without the consequence.
And what's interesting is the same.
Again, you want to get into the most amazing hyperbole here is that the government not telling us what to do as far as health care.
But they have no problem in the government telling everybody What to do when it comes to the vaccines and everything else.
Right now we, as we are looking, we've got one more called Nick from Minneapolis.
We don't, we're running out of time.
I want to give you all the time you need for this, Nick.
So if you will hold with us through the break, we'll have you on as soon as we come back.
And also Sam from Orlando.
We've got you as well.
So again, lots of callers here getting ready, getting ready for a good about halfway done here.
This is Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka.
If you want to be a part of the show, 833-33 Gorka, 833-334-6752.
833-33-GORCA, 833-334-6752.
We'll be right back with some callers.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
This is America First, and we are delighted to welcome our very special guest host, former Congressman Doug Collins.
All right, we're back here on America First.
Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka, who will be back tomorrow.
The good doctor will be back in the house tomorrow.
You will want to be a part.
It's been an honor filling in for him over the last couple of days.
And we've still got a good half show left here.
So we got a lot going on.
And as I promised, Nick in Minneapolis, you're on America First with Doug Collins.
Hey, thanks, Doug, for taking my call.
I've been hearing on the local news here that there was a mass shooting last night here in Minneapolis at a 4th of July celebration also and as far as I know they haven't released any information about the shooter yet and it hasn't made national news and I'm guessing that's because it's not going to be a white male and it doesn't fit the narrative.
Yeah, I looked that up and I noticed when you called in, I was looking in between the break.
I said, well, I haven't heard about it either.
So, I mean, Nick, you were giving some, you know, information I hadn't heard and I looked it up and that's what it looks like.
This looks like it appears to be, again, that what bothers me the most about so, um, Many of these issues is if it doesn't fit the narrative.
They don't play the the time and they don't don't give it the time.
They don't give it the time of day.
They don't want to they don't want to put it out if it doesn't fit the narrative of the of the angry and frankly angry white male.
You don't ever hear about it.
And I think this is the concern that people are losing faith and confidence in not only the media, they're losing faith and confidence in a lot of what's going on.
But yeah, it appears that eight or six to eight people, some in critical condition in this shooting in Minneapolis, but I'm like you, eight people hospitalized after the shooting in Northeast Minneapolis.
If you're from there, maybe Nick, you know a little better about that area than I do.
Two of them are police.
11:30 PM and several people are in critical condition.
That's the only, I mean, I'm kidding you not.
I picked up only like three articles or four articles about it and that's it.
It is amazing.
- Two of them are police.
- Two of them are police.
Yeah, and we haven't even talked about that.
- Yeah, and it is a very blue neighborhood and a very bad neighborhood.
- Yep, and this is the part, and Nick, thanks for giving us a call, buddy.
I appreciate you letting us know about this, and we got some more callers on.
I want to emphasize here, this is what bothers me about the left and guns.
This is what bothers me about the left in dealing with these issues when they only seem to want to, if it fits the narrative, if it was, quote, one of their, as their self-terminology, assault weapons, With a certain number in a magazine, of ammunition in a magazine, or it fits a certain profile of a shooter, or they have had it, then it seems to be bumped to the top.
But these every night shootings that we see in cities like Chicago, and San Francisco, and Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, and Atlanta, and St.
Louis, and others, where you're not prosecuting crimes, you're not having the police departments back, and you're seeing this happen over and over again, it is just getting to the point of where it's ridiculous.
Either report it all, talk about it all, and deal with it.
Lightfoot, Mayor Lightfoot in Chicago.
You know, instead of worrying about what you think about, you know, using four-letter words about Clarence Thomas, why don't you worry about the conditions in your own city?
But that's too easy.
That's what the liberals don't want to do.
They don't want to have to actually fix problems.
Let's continue on right now with Sam in Orlando.
Sam, how we doing, buddy?
I'm doing pretty good.
I'll make this quick.
Or if you study history, before you can kill the enemy, you have to dehumanize them.
It's the same thing with abortion.
I wonder how many mothers would actually go through an abortion if they call a fetus a baby and they call it an abortion or a killing.
Or call Planned Parenthood Murder Incorporated.
I really think very few mothers would go through the process.
Sam, you've hit it.
I mean, again, why do we euphemistically refer to a living thing as a blob of cells or a fetus?
No, it is a baby.
Sam, one of the things that we did here in Georgia, one of the first bills, thanks for calling by the way, we're up against a break, but one of the things, one of the first bills that I did when I worked on when I was in the Georgia State Legislature was a thing called the ultrasound bill.
The ultrasound bill was simply this.
It did not stop abortions.
It did not put as much as I would like to have stopped at the time.
But what we found out they were doing was in these abortion clinics, they were doing, because they were afraid of being sued for malpractice, they were using ultrasounds to get the placement of the child and everything before they killed it.
What we said was only if you use an ultrasound, you have to give the woman the ability to see the ultrasound.
Now, they don't have to see it.
All we were saying was is you have to give them the option because what they were doing, and Sam, thank you for calling in and talking about this in this euphemistic kind of way, is they were putting the ultrasound monitor in another room. - Okay.
And they were looking at it to protect themselves, but they weren't showing the mother of the baby what that baby looked like in the womb.
We said, nope, you can use the ultrasound, but if you use the ultrasound, you got to give the alternative for that woman to see the ultrasound.
It's amazing what that does.
Borsham folks, Mills fought us like cats and dogs.
They didn't want to do that.
Why?
Because they knew that that was a baby.
This is Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka here on America First.
We're just getting rolling.
We'll see you back in just a minute.
We'll see you back in just a minute.
We'll see you back in just a minute.
We'll see you back in just a minute.
We'll see you back in just a minute.
We'll see you back in just a minute.
We'll see you back in just a minute.
We'll see you back in just a minute.
We'll see you back in just a minute.
We'll see you back in just a minute.
This is America First, and we are delighted to welcome our very special guest host, former Congressman Doug Collins.
All righty, we're back here.
Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorko, America First.
And we've got, I mean, we've stirred up a pot.
The folks, you've got to understand, the Democrats right now, and I'm going to get you a little bit fired up, Democrats believe that this Roe v. Wade, this Dobbs case, it's the Dobbs case out of Mississippi, is going to be the thing that can help blunt what is going to be a I think a very large red wave coming into November.
And they think that this abortion issue is their ticket to turning some of these areas.
And I think it's up to us as conservatives who have been fighting for this long.
I've said now, conservatives, your battles now begin.
It's not that you've won.
The battle now is beginning to talk about life, why it matters and why.
And also stepping up to helping with adoption and helping with these crisis pregnancies and doing the things that need to be done as a community.
That's what we're here for.
And we've got to be a part of that.
But right now, we also want you to be a part of the show.
It is 833-33-GORKA.
833-334-6752.
833-334-6752.
There we go.
Get going too fast there.
All right, but we do have on the line Daniel from the great state of Texas.
833-335-467-52.
There we go.
All right.
We're getting going too fast here.
All right, but we do have on the line Daniel from the great state of Texas.
Daniel, how are we doing?
Mr. Collins, hey, you're doing a great job.
I appreciate you speaking the logic to the world.
And, you know, I wanted to make a comment.
Using the thinking of the blue states and these people like the lady up there in New York, you know, they say that abortion is not murder.
So I want to kind of Stipulate that a little bit further and say, you know, if you're on trial for murder in any of these blue states, all you have to use for a defense is, well, I just performed a late-term abortion.
Now, granted, your victim might be 6 or 60, but it's just a late-term abortion.
It's not murder.
So therefore, you cannot try me and put me in jail.
Daniel, I have to give you credit with one more.
I mean, I will say this with respect.
That is almost the best liberalized thinking I've ever heard in my life.
I mean, I am telling you, buddy, that one, okay, I get it.
I get it.
But that, now that's the kind of thinking we need, folks.
I mean, for the great state of Texas, I mean, Daniel, you got it, buddy.
Thank you for calling in.
Thanks for being a part of today.
All right, bud.
I mean, the simplicity of that was just so, just performing a late-term abortion.
Daniel, you killed it, brother.
You're on the list for top caller of the day so far.
We've had a lot of great callers.
833-33-GORKA, 833-33-46752 be a part of the show here.
Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka here on America First.
But you know, you think about it.
It goes back to something that we've talked about before.
I've talked about it a lot.
We continue.
On this issue of abortion, when it comes down to what the left wants you to believe is, they do not want you to believe it is a life.
This is the key.
They do not believe it is life.
If you can get them to admit it is a living life, then you have now separated the argument into saying, then that life has less value, less meaning than the life of something else.
Which then puts them in a quandary, and if you take this logic, and I want to help here, is if we can, is if you're listening to me, if they determine that life in the womb is less than life that is, quote, born, say, the life of the mother, then my question is, and I've heard this said before, well, what does this, make this not for itself, it can't eat on its own, it can't breathe on its own, it has trouble, then you can just pause for a minute.
And all of us probably have had at some point at least heard about or have been a part of and especially myself as being pastor and a chaplain who have been in the hospital many times with seniors or even younger who through an accident or through just age have a hard time breathing on their own.
They don't eat on their own.
They some of those, you know, maybe not even able to respond.
Are you now telling me that it's okay to take that life simply because it has the same characteristics of a life in the womb?
Now some of you may not want to hear this and that's fine.
But you cannot admit to yourself that you have these issues on one end of life and then not apply them to other.
You don't believe me?
Look, when Roe v. Wade came down in 73, there was a lot of people saying this will lead to the euthanasia end on the other, on the other end.
Everybody called him crazy.
They called him conspiracy theorist.
They called him everything else.
And look at what happens happened over the last year.
The more and more over the last 40, 50 years of Roe v. Wade, euthanasia and these other ideas have become more and more popular.
Why?
Because they devalue life on the front end.
John in Indiana, how we doing today?
OK, Doug, how about you?
I'm doing good, just I mean it's a it's a rich environment out there of the craziness going on in our world.
What's going on with you?
I wanted to talk about the Highland Park, Illinois shooting at the parade.
Illinois is a socialist Democrat state.
Especially that area there, Highland Park.
And in the surrounding areas around Highland Park.
And the governor in Illinois shut down the state basically for a minimum of almost two years or longer.
And what would that do to a 20-year-old or 25-year-old brain being locked up in a house and not being able to go to the store and not being able to go anywhere following the governor's orders?
What will that do to a brain of some people?
Oh yeah, this is the this you have hit on it.
The issue that we're going to have to be dealing with for your John for years to come and thanks for calling.
I'm gonna have to continue on this as we go.
We got a break coming up, but John that we've not began to see the effects on young people and our and and older people as well in all of us.
The effects of these shutdowns, the effects of these lockdowns, the effects of being kept away from family members, defects that all of this came through because of the liberal.
Very much decision that government knew better that not the people and that we're not able to overcome what we have been seen through a pandemic that was terrible and we lost lives on it.
But was not the issue that it made out to be that what it was, and especially what we saw on the effects of children, especially those under 20.
We did not see the mass epidemic in the mass of death in that age group.
Why?
Because it wasn't affecting them like everybody else.
But yet we shut them down, cut them out of schools and everything else.
And I tell you right now, I'm warning us all that over the next 15 to 20 years, we will start seeing the results of the last two or three years of the frankly wrongheaded liberal ideas, especially in many of these states that kept things shut down for so long.
You're going to see the problems in our kids.
You're going to see it in education.
You're going to see it as we move forward.
Folks, this is Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka here on America First.
Glad to have you be a part.
We'll be back here in just a minute.
We'll be back here in just a minute.
We'll be back here in just a minute.
We'll be back here in just a minute.
We'll be back here in just a minute.
We'll be back here in just a minute.
We'll be back here in just a minute.
We'll be back here in just a minute.
All right, we're back here on America First with Dr. Sebastian Gorka.
He'll be back in tomorrow ready to go at it.
We're glad to be filling in for him as we go.
And I think this abortion discussion is getting out there because we're having some more calls now that want to take a different approach.
And I always welcome a different approach if we have a conversation about it.
Donna in Sacramento, California.
Donna, welcome to the America First show.
Well, thank you.
Um, I haven't called in since Eric Ogle left the show.
Oh, no.
Well, I'm glad you called back in.
We probably will disagree, but I'm glad you're calling.
Oh, Eric, he was the one I believe that started the talk radio with KTKZ.
I love it.
Oh, back in 2000.
Oh, now, now you're dating both of us a little bit.
Come on.
No, I'm not dating me because I'm 82.
No, Donna, you're great.
You're great.
Okay, here's the story.
Politics to me.
Has no deep business in abortion.
Take politics out of it.
Leave it alone.
Let somebody else worry about it.
The doctors and the woman that wants to have that baby killed as it's on its way on the birth canal, then let them deal with it.
Okay, well let me ask you this.
It's not for us to say.
Okay, for politics though, if you want to say a baby that's being birthed, I mean you're getting real close there, then why don't we just not have murder as a law?
I mean, let's just be honest.
If I'm mad at you, Donna, and I want to kill you, shouldn't I just be allowed to do that?
No, I'm talking about abortion.
Okay, well, tell me why that baby in the womb is different than a different life.
It's not.
Okay, it is a life, though.
The thing is, the thing here is, when it's in the birth canal and they kill it, I mean, to me, that's really murder.
And that woman and that doctor should be held accountable more than when the baby is like just maybe even when she finds out she's pregnant that's Wednesday.
Would you agree with me though Donna and I appreciate it dear, you're a great caller.
Would you agree with me, we disagree, but would you agree with me though that even at that 6, 12, 15 weeks, however you want to put it, that that is still a life?
Wouldn't you agree?
It meets all the criteria of life.
Yes.
I know you are.
But wouldn't it meet the criteria of life?
Would it make the criteria blind?
Of life.
Life.
I'm sorry.
L-I-F-E.
Life.
No, I'll still hold to what I said.
Politics has no business in the abortion issue.
Donna, I'm gonna have to strongly disagree on the abortion side of it.
There's a lot of things you and I... I think you're a closet conservative, really, on this, and I think you get it, but I think the issue is there is things that government need to be out of, but this is one where you're protecting life, because if we're not protecting the front end, you're not gonna protect the back end, and you're not gonna lift it up in the middle.
And I think that's the great thing.
But Donna, great call.
Thanks for being a part.
Folks, I noticed some other callers online, but we have Matt Slap from American Conservative Union calling in.
We got CPAC coming up.
Matt will be calling in after the top of the hour, and we'll get back to calls after Matt.
So y'all go take a break.
right and we'll see you in just a minute.
Thank you.
.
This is America First, and we are delighted to welcome our very special guest host, former Congressman Doug Collins.
All righty, it's Doug Collins here.
Got the final hour.
We're at hour three.
Can you believe it?
Hour three, America First.
Doug Collins filling in for Dr. Sebastian Gorka, who will be back tomorrow.
We're waiting here just a moment.
Matt Schlapp from American Service Union is going to be joining us talking about CPAC.
But before we get to Matt, we have Jane in New York.
Jane, how are we doing?
Fine, how are you?
Thank you so much for covering this subject.
I was an abuse counselor for many, many years.
And I recall a case, a young woman.
These organizations tend to brainwash young women when they can get their hands on them.
I was called one day to A partial birth abortion.
And I tried everything in my power to talk this young woman out of it, and the doctors stepped in, and I asked one person, I said, okay, if someone is paralyzed, and they have no voice, and you see that they have no use in this world, will you kill them right there on the spot?
Let me just ask you that.
And the doctor said, that's a really stupid question.
I said, I'm looking at a six-and-a-half-month-old baby laying on a table, and you are about to snuff that child's life out.
And to me, it's nothing short of premeditated murder.
And it's people like the lady who had called.
It's true.
Now, if you look at someone and you decide they have no use, are you going to kill them on the spot?
Or if someone's going to hurt them, will you stand up for them?
And speak up, or are you going to stand back and say, well, that's their choice.
We'll just let that... I'll tell you, until you watch a little tiny child have their life taken away while they struggle to breathe, it is the most horrifying thing you can possibly imagine.
And I beg people to... I know many people who want to adopt.
Yep.
And there are many good people.
So let's try to keep that in mind and help people.
Never stop talking about it and trying to help.
Don't give up.
I know that sounds corny, but... No, no, Jane.
You're exactly right.
And dear, thank you so much for coming, because you've hit the perfect right here.
Conservatives, it's our time to step up.
It's our time to step up.
We've got to be the love and the compassion that we've always shown people.
Absolutely.
Jane, you're wonderful.
Thank you so much.
Thanks for hanging in there.
Bye-bye.
Bye.
I mean, she's spot on.
I mean, this is our time to show love.
This is our time as conservatives.
I've said this many, many times before.
Conservatives are the only ones that actually, we're the only group that actually believes in people.
Liberals believe in government that can help people.
We're believing that it is the people that actually not only give power to everything else in life, but the government as well.
And on that wonderful note, coming in, speaking of one who loves life and loves a lot of things, especially whatever Mercedes tells him to do, it is Matt Schlapp.
Matt, glad to have you on the show today.
Hey Doug Collins, how are you, sir?
I'm good, buddy.
All good.
I mean, Matt, I'm telling you, when you just talk about life and when you put abortion in the proper context, when you talk about it, you know, the life issue that you're making a value judgment between life and the womb and other things, the pro-abortion crowd, they don't have an answer for that.
And today we have been lighting up the phone calls, both the ones against me and for me, but we're talking about life.
Talk to me though about we've got coming up in a little less than a month now, CPAC Dallas.
Uh, let's talk to our listeners about that.
Yeah, people should go CPAC Texas and Dallas, Texas.
We have these two big national, uh, CPAC events a year, uh, as well as things we're doing overseas.
We're going to be in Israel, uh, in Mexico, uh, all around this next CPAC, but, uh, tickets are still available for Dallas.
Go to conservative.org and I know you're going to be there.
Yes, I'm looking forward to speaking, looking forward to talking about what we've done in the past.
Matt and I have worked on criminal justice reform and really conservative alternatives to what the left has really just screwed up in this world, and I'm looking forward to being there and I'll be doing some radio from there, but also speaking, so we're excited to be a part.
Matt, what are you seeing in the last month or so?
I mean, we've seen some, what I've noticed is that the left can't stand if anything goes wrong.
Conservatives are continuing the process of winning because, you know, look, we understand what these, the founders, I mean, we're coming out 4th of July, the founders, you know, it set forth a country that was founded on, you know, distinct branches of government with doing their proper role.
What do you see this is from a, if you put the last Well, I'm 54, Doug, and what I would say is I've never had a Supreme Court week like the other week.
And I think we can all honestly say this.
Look, we've had a couple of amazing moments in the conservative movement.
We had the election of Ronald Reagan.
We had what was the unthinkable Republican majorities in Congress in 1994.
We had the Tea Party movement.
But all of that pales in comparison to the 2016 election of Donald Trump.
And mostly because a lot of people were against him and thought he was lying to us about being a conservative.
And his agenda, you know, I forget the things that he did.
He did so many things.
And Marisa and I were just talking about it yesterday on July 4th with our kids.
It's like, you start listening and you can't believe it.
It's because, you know, he kind of broke the system.
I think the biggest historical part of what he did was he went to battle for these three Supreme Court nominees.
He didn't squish or hedge or try to pick someone who could just get easily confirmed.
He picked really solid justices.
And by and large, they are coming through on some big things.
Look, we have really never undone the outrageous precedence of the Warren And burger courts, we just have to, it's just not how Republicans are wired.
We just kind of, we don't want to undo what they did.
And, uh, and I know there's some legal justification for that at times, but undoing Roe v. Wade, I cannot think of another major, uh, you know, reversal that we've had from the court that, that is at this level.
And I think they're going to do the same thing on Chevron deference.
I think the same thing on climate change.
And look, I think these guys realize that the country can't continue on this path.
And they're going to start to do the constitutional thing, and I think it's amazing.
Well, Matt, it is amazing, and I shared this, John Solomon was on earlier, and we were talking about this, and especially you talked about Chevron deference, which is the West Virginia case, the EPA, and really what other, I mean, I can't wait to see the ATF starts getting reined in.
You know, other, you know, Department of Education, so many others that should be reined in, and not legislating from their bureaucratic offices.
But, you know, one of the things that we're seeing forward, and I know you've been involved in this and I have as well, is making sure that one of the big cases coming up, and we mentioned this early on the show, was that they agreed, the Supreme Court agreed to take up the case out of North Carolina about making sure that it is, you know, from our perspective, that the legislatures, as was set out in our founders in the Constitution, that the legislatures, the states, set the time and place of the elections, and they set the parameters of that.
And I think this North Carolina case could have the same kind of impact that we're going to see out of this West Virginia case.
Well, look, I think that's right.
And I think that once you, once a justice, once a judge says, you know what?
Um, I'm not going to probably get invited.
I'm not going to get the Kennedy center award, um, for courage or whatever that thing is called that bogus award.
I'm not going to get, um, I'm probably not going to get all the little words that all the DC, uh, cocktail parties and nonprofits.
I'll probably get made fun of on the late night talk shows.
And I can't believe these words are going to come out of my mouth.
I might even get assassinated.
But that's just kind of where we are as a country.
So am I going to just am I going to try to play the game like John Roberts is playing the game with the DC cocktail circuit?
Or am I just going to do the right thing and let the chips fall where they may and hug my kids at night and hope we can hold on to this republic?
And I think that's what at least five and a half of them are going to do.
And that's really never happened since the founding of our country, a group of people being courageous and putting it all on the line.
And look, I just give Trump a lot of credit.
I mean, he could have abandoned Kavanaugh in a second, which would have meant he probably would have had to go left on his next pick.
And he held his ground, and Mitch McConnell deserves credit for not letting Merrick Garland get on the court.
and these were really historic decisions, but the justice has always let us down.
Remember, Ronald Reagan got 50% of his picks on the big questions.
Both Bushes got 50% of their picks.
So far, Trump, he was batting 1,000.
It's never happened to us before.
It is.
Real quickly, Matt, and thank you for joining.
I know you've got lots going on, and we're looking forward to folks that can go to CPAC Texas.
I'm looking forward to being out there.
I'm looking forward to speaking.
You know who I believe this is, actually?
And you've been involved in elections and campaigns, especially around Congress.
I believe that these, especially this court's move on West Virginia, puts the emphasis back on Congress, and it makes the election for legislators, people willing to get up there and do the hard work, is going to be a premium if we have a court that actually does that.
Yeah, no, I think that's exactly right.
I was always shocked that, I don't know, that this idea that the Supreme Court would decide what a pollutant is.
I mean, they're lawyers.
I didn't know they were scientists.
And it just gets absurd.
Once you can start making up what's in the Constitution, and they can become the super regulator, at the end of the day on all these questions, it comes down to the people.
It's written in that document.
It comes down to the people.
And if all these pro-choicers really believe that Roe v. Wade is that popular or that climate change is that popular, how come they never leave it to the people that decided these regulations?
They're afraid of the people deciding these regulations because they know the polls are a lot more on our side than they admit to.
That's exactly right.
Matt Schlapp, ACU.
Thanks, buddy.
We'll see you in Texas.
Everybody, we'll be back.
Doug Collins on American First.
Thanks so much.
This is America First and we are delighted to welcome our very special guest host, former Congressman Doug Collins.
Oh.
Okay, everybody, it's Doug Collins here on America First, filling in for Dr. Sebastian Gorka, who will be back tomorrow.
We're excited to be filling in.
We've had a good couple of days here.
We're just rocking truth and getting people all fired up.
That's what this is all about.
I've had some questions.
Oh, how do you find out more about?
Do you want to hear me?
I love filling in for Dr. Gorka, but Dr. Gorka is the America's first doctor professor, but you can find out.
I'm a part of the Salem faculty as well at the Doug Collins podcast, the Doug Collins podcast.com.

We do a lot of different things.
We go much more in depth than even the The ability that I'm having here over the last few days to do this.
So I want you to go there, go to the Doug Collins podcast, download it, share it with your friends.
We've got to get the conservative message out so that people understand how to fight in a environment we're in.
Lots of calls today.
We're getting ready to get from here from Mike in Detroit.
Before we do, I know I'm getting in text.
I mean, I've heard from, let's see, we've gotten texting all in from out West Idaho.
I think it's a Maddie and Cameron.
Listening in out there today.
Glad to have y'all to be a part of the show as we go.
But we're getting it from all over.
And today we're now we're going to travel to Detroit, Michigan.
Mike, your own Doug Collins here on America First.
What's going on?
Oh yeah, you know, well, you know, I think something that's really missed here is, as more information comes out about this parade shooter, it's nothing but red flags, you know, just like he fits a profile of so many other shooters.
I might even talk about school shooters.
With the idea, the liberal idea, progressive idea of restorative justice, where Obama's promise program was restoring violent children back into the classroom at the risk of harming their classmates, as if it's more important to restore them into the classroom or restore these criminals back into society and ignore the red flags.
Than it is to protect society against these people.
This is a progressive, liberal ideology they're inflicting on the nation.
You've got police officers killed by people that should not be back on the street.
This is all one ideology being inflicted on us again by these progressives.
Well, Mike, I understand what you're feeling and because it is concerning, you know, we're seeing and what my biggest concern is, is, you know, having worked with Donald Trump and the President on First Step Act, which is a criminal justice form, it actually did protect our police, protect our communities and then and had some issues with with getting people back into society that should be back, not the ones who should not be back.
You know, these are the kind of things that the left has taken on.
The left has become the party of, we don't want to put anybody in jail.
We don't want to punish them.
You know, and I don't know if this is, you know, from a background of, of thinking everything should be right or what, but Mike, I have a question and I'm just curious, cause I haven't had a chance to ask this question.
I'm going to ask it of you.
I've seen this in several of, I saw it in the, this reported in the Texas Evaldi shooting.
I've saw it in, uh, I've seen it in other places, you know, Parkland, where they say that the person was known to law enforcement.
Oh, okay.
I have a question.
What does that actually, how do you interpret that, Mike?
I'm just curious.
Well, you know, the, uh, you know, there, uh, If they are a threat, you know, and if you just look at the classroom, the Parkland shooter, he was kicked, you know, he was removed from one school because of his violent behavior and his threatening behavior.
Well, Obama and his restorative justice ideology and program put him right back in the classroom again.
Well, you've got to draw the line somewhere.
Now, President Trump is a common sense A human being who acts in the best interest of our nation and also in a humane way.
We're not dealing with that kind of mentality when we deal with the progressives in this country.
They're just after their own agendas, and especially when it comes to the Second Amendment, because that's our umbrella of protection.
They can't push things any farther until they disarm us.
And so I think that's the bottom line on this.
Well, I know, I've been looking at it.
I mean, when you've got a governor like Mike and you've got a governor up there that is just completely seemingly detached from reality in most part, how do you see that playing out?
Because I mean, I always like to talk with people across the country.
Mike, I've got a second here to talk with you.
You've got a big governor's race coming up and you've got a lot in Michigan.
How is that playing out?
Because your governor is really the poster child among others of the left up there.
Oh yeah, she should be.
They should add an extra one to the ad squad with her.
But you know, I can tell you personally, living in Detroit, we've had problems here that were serious, serious problems.
Because our communities flooded with cartel drugs and cartel members and international gang members and so on.
They really are.
And I can tell you that some people in my building notified the police about these people that were very threatening.
And to the neighborhood and the community.
And guess what?
They were arrested and before too long they were out.
And these people were scared to death that they would find out that they had cooperated with the police to get these people, you know, people were afraid to have their children take the trash out.
You know, they were out here selling drugs in the parking lot.
And so it has a deep, deep impact on our inner city communities, and I hope that the minorities in these communities, you know they're tired of it.
They're tired of it.
They're coming to us.
You know, I mean, I'm not as be-all and end-all, but you know, they want something done, you know?
Well, I agree.
Mike, thank you for your call today.
Thanks.
Keep the fight up there.
Y'all see if we can turn that situation up.
Abel was in Michigan, up in Oswald County, just a few weeks ago, giving a speech up there.
We've got to get her out of there.
She is, and we got to turn that place back.
So Mike, thanks a bunch for calling in.
Thank you.
Alright.
And Mike hits on something else, and this is frustrating to me, is the left is always going for the highlights, the part that they think makes their point the most, especially when it comes to 2nd Amendment and guns.
And yet, you see these cities like Detroit, you see these cities like Chicago, like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and all these other cities, they're not doing anything to protect their citizens.
They're not doing the things like enforcing law.
Now, if something happens, the first thing they want to do is they want to come out with a new law.
Well, I mean, folks, how many times does it take to realize that it is not the law that is already there that is causing this problem?
It is the fact that the law is not being enforced and you have people who understand that.
It's just like our southern border.
I mean, don't you want a whole episode?
Let's just get started with the southern border.
The reason we have it and people are coming across is that they're not closing off the southern border.
We're seeing this over and over again.
Alright, before we get out of here though, speaking of life, we've had a lot of it.

It's all about life.
It's all about where our perspective is, what we've come to know here in this country.
And it is about respecting each other.
It's about moving forward with ideas that work.
It's not about just simply the way I feel and the way I want it to be.
It's about finding ways that work and finding people that come alongside you.
That is what conservatism is.
Conservatism actually brings you together and benefits of what our founders had.
We celebrated yesterday, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Doug Collins here filling in for Dr. Sebastian Gorka.
We will be right back on America First.
We will be right back on America First.
We will be right back on America First.
We will be right back on America First.
We will be right back on America First.
We will be right back on America First.
We will be right back on America First.
We will be right back on America First.
We will be right back on America First.
We will be right back on America First.
This is America First and we are delighted to welcome our very special guest host, former Congressman Doug Collins.
Hi.
All right, we're back.
We're finishing up drive time here on the East Coast, getting ready for off time on the West Coast.
We're glad to have you here all across the country on America First Radio Show.
Dr. Sebastian Gorka, Doug Collins filling in.
Thanks for the time we've enjoyed the last couple of days for spending time with you guys.
I've got still some time for some more calls.
833-33-GORKA or 833-334-6752.
833-333-GORCA or 833-334-6752.
And join in the show as we're having a good time here.
And thanks to all the folks back in, John, Eric, all back in the shop, keeping it all running today.
there We're a little bit normally shorthanded and they are killing it today.
And I appreciate the guys in the back making this all work wonderfully.
I want to hit on something that we've not hit on here, and like I said, if you want to call, you just go ahead and call in.
But a story broke, and for those of you who may not know me, I have been in the military, in the Air Force now for 20 plus years.
I was in the Navy for a couple of years, a couple, three years before then.
Then I'm a chaplain, served in Iraq in 2008, 2009 timeframe.
And a story came across a couple of weeks ago.
It had been building, and for those of us in the military, and I'm currently stationed in Warner Robins, I'm at Headquarters Africa in the chaplain's office, which is what I've been.
I'm an attorney, but I'm still a chaplain as well.
And we've been seeing this issue of recruitment, especially in the last couple of years, become more and more of an issue.
And it's getting to the point now to where it's more than just an issue.
It is a crisis.
And the Army recently announced it had cut its force by 12,000 soldiers.
Cut its force.
Now listen to me when I'm telling you.
In the light of everything going on in the world, Russia invading Ukraine, you have China flexing its muscles, you have North Korea and Rocket Man going at it and keeping the world unsettled.
We have the problem still in the Middle East.
You've got just all kinds of problems.
An Army recently announced it is forced to cut its size by 12,000 soldiers because it can't find enough volunteers to fill the ranks.
And a lot of this is because they're having issues finding talent.
Here's an interesting statistic.
Since 2014, the military has been reporting that because of obesity, adverse criminal history, physical problems, drug use, or lack of a high school degree, only 29% of Americans qualify to join the military without a waiver.
Now, it got worse.
General McConville confirmed that percentage had dropped to only 23%.
So now just 1 in 4 young Americans qualify.
Now think about this.
I mean, now look, everybody can do a little better.
All right?
I mean, I've been in the military for a long time.
I try to keep up my run.
I keep up my exercise.
I try to eat right.
I do those things.
But when you've got 21% of youth 12 to 19 years old or obese, or only 51% of high school students attend any physical education classes at all, you wonder why we can't, you know, take this up and do better.
I mean, I'm just...
You know, it is just amazing to me that This is a problem.
Only 23% are even eligible.
Now think about this for a second.
23% are even eligible.
After eligibility, take off those that are good students.
Take off those that have college ambitions.
Take off those who are going to go to a job that's getting paid $25 an hour.
They're doing computers or doing something like that.
And then that number shrinks more and more.
Right now, 40% of the goal for the Army has been met.
The Army is not going to make it.
The Air Force is probably not going to make it.
You know, probably not gonna make it.
Marines are barely gonna make it.
This is becoming a bigger and bigger problem.
And if we don't start addressing this right now, in fact, if we don't look at this, and just recently I saw the Army was offering up to $10,000 if you could get to boot camp before October 1st.
Let's take a quick call.
Walter, California.
Walter, what's going on?
Well, there's a war going on, and we seem to be losing track of that and concern for it.
And my big concern is that the talking heads and politicians never seem to understand the history of this war and United States involvement and responsibility from the beginning for this war.
Well, Walter, I think as we look at it right now, this is the issues that we have been involved in and now we have a country that is, I've said it before, I think conservatives, we have this problem and I think our country has the attention span of a gnat on Red Bull.
I mean, we just, you know, bounce from thing to thing to thing and nobody seems to want to, to deal with it.
And, um, and this is our problem.
I mean, so you're, you're exactly right.
As we start to look at this, you know, uh, further and further, we're going to have to take a dress and Walter, thank you for bringing it up.
Thanks for giving us a call today, folks.
We're finishing up today.
8 3 1.
If you want to get us on the call 8 3 3 3 3 Gorka be a part of the show.
show.
This is Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorker here on America First.
Thank you.
All right, we're back.
Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka.
We are bringing it in, bringing it into the time here.
If you're riding home, you're getting home here on the East Coast and getting ready to get off everywhere else.
And we're glad to have you with us.
Let me pick back up on what I was saying before Walter came in.
And, you know, We're sending money all around the world.
We just got word, you know, Biden's sending another 800 million to aid in Ukraine.
I'm beginning to get concerned about where the aid is going.
I think that if they need the help, I mean, Putin has miscalculated this thing all along, but Putin's army and their strength are greater than Zelensky's, and now it looks like the different regions are falling.
But I make all this decision up, and Putin's, I think, actually backfired on him when Sweden and Finland are joining NATO.
The question actually, though, becomes, is with our own defense.
And when our own defenses are actually the things that I'm concerned about, when you can't recruit, When you're not getting enough young men and women to join our military and volunteer to be a part of this country's defenses, then where does that put us?
And I think part of it in this, the articles that I have been reading, you know, they talk about, you know, not being in shape.
They not talk about, you know, the obesity factor.
They talk about, you know, not having, again, also just found out just recently that the Army, Is not in addition to giving almost $10,000 from what last I heard to join.
If you can go to boot camp before October 1st, which is the fiscal year, they've also dropped the requirement for a GED or high school education.
I mean, when you understand this is going on, then you're going to see that this is going to end up biting us.
It's going to end up in a problem that we can't fix, and it's going to end up in a problem taking the country from our military perspective and shrinking it down.
When you've already had the Army having to shrink down its size by 12,000, I mean, what's going to be next year?
Are we going down by 24,000?
Are we going down?
You know, I mean, and again, if you can't do that, for all of you, you know, all you out there, then that puts a greater and greater strain on our military.
It puts a greater and greater strain on those military families.
It puts a greater and greater strain on our ability to defend it.
And you know who's watching this?
You know who's watching it?
I'll tell you who's watching it.
China is watching it.
Russia is watching it.
They're looking to see that if the American military is not doing what it should be doing, if it is a step down and we're not able to keep up, then they're going to act.
I believe firmly in my heart, the reason that Ukraine is being invaded by Putin is because Putin watched what happened in Afghanistan.
I think China has stepped up its actions toward Taiwan.
Why?
Because of what happened in Afghanistan with Joe Biden.
When Joe Biden cut and run in Afghanistan without any plan, without any backup plan, without any doing anything.
And before you call and before you get on the phone, you call into the show and you want to say, Donald Trump was getting out of Afghanistan.
Donald Trump was getting Afghanistan out of Afghanistan with a plan and was saying, if we don't, if you don't meet these plans, then we're not leaving.
It was sort of interesting that in the last 18 months of Donald Trump's presidency, we did not lose anyone in Afghanistan.
We had a force of roughly 2,000 or 4,000 troops, and we were not losing any of those troops.
Why?
Because we were out of the direct fighting, but yet the Taliban knew they could not come into Afghanistan without taking us on.
And they weren't going to do it.
And they were scared of Donald Trump.
They were scared of what he would do.
They didn't know if he would actually, uh, attack, not attack.
He wasn't sure what would actually happen.
And I think this is, uh, what we have seen, uh, so, so many times.
All right.
We've got a time for a couple of quick calls here.
Let's get, uh, Ralph out of Texas.
Ralph, how are we doing?
Hey brother.
Uh, listen, uh, Putin said the other day, In the St.
Petersburg at the International Economic Summit, that he was going to be working with Trump and Xi would join them in destroying the New World Order.
Now, I had dinner with Louie Gohmert and Laura Logan of Fox News X a few months ago.
I told her I thought Putin was working to destroy the Azov neo-Nazis there and the Deep State money machine, 46 bioweapons labs to be taken out.
And she told me she was well aware of that.
So, uh, I'm gonna tell you, you're a pastor.
You know what the Lord said.
You know, you see what fruit the tree produces before you partake of it.
My contention is, uh, this ABC CBS NBC, they're all blaming all of these civilian massacres on, on Putin.
And it's a lie.
And he is going to prevent the Bill Gates promise two years ago, new pandemic.
He's going to take that out.
I think he's already presented this information to the UN and they will not accept it.
They get up and walk out.
He has the proof.
And let me tell you, I expect Xi to join, do the same thing in Taiwan.
And the truth is going to come out on this.
All right.
Yeah, well, Ralph, thanks for calling.
I mean, I think what you got to understand is that Putin is out, I believe, is out for himself.
I mean, I've seen he's out for Russia.
I think he's been misunderstood.
You know, his intentions have been out there for a long time, and people chose to ignore it.
He chose to do what he's going to do, and we saw that when he invaded Ukraine, which he should have never done.
You know what?
When Hillary was running, all of our life, we've seen these Democrats buddy up and suck up to every communist there was.
And then all of a sudden, all of a sudden, they turn against Putin.
Well, let me tell you something.
There's a reason.
Even some of the top Catholic bishops have said that Putin is a Christian, and he is working to save them.
And would we not have done the same with those... You know that nuclear pan over there?
Guess what happened over there when Trump came in?
and took over in Syria after we got rid of Obama.
He bombed the big nuclear plant over there, blew up the uranium that had been transported illegally from this country after Hillary's Uranium One sale.
He blew up Uncle Rockefeller's uranium over there.
It was ISIS whose gas occurred.
It got us into the war.
And when Trump moved in there, he bombed those ISIS supply lines hauling oil to Turkey.
And this, let me tell you, this is a big dog and pony show.
I appreciate it.
I'm up on a hard break, Ralph, but I agree with you.
One of the things Trump did was actually change the rules of engagement, and that's what turned a great deal of the ISIS around.
Folks, we got one more segment, short segment, coming back here.
Doug Collins filling in for Sebastian Gorka on America First.
Glad to have you.
Thank you.

You want The Clock in the Calendar by Doug Collins.
All right, one last caller.
Shelly, you are the last caller today coming from Phoenix.
How are we doing today?
Doing great, and just wanted to say you're one of my favorite In Congress, you're well-spoken, articulate.
You are, you know, really good.
Thank you.
Keep it up!
Well done!
What's bothering me greatly is when I, you know, watch the television, I really don't watch much news except I like to watch Tucker and the January 6th problem.
We have people who are committing suicide.
They're in solitary confinement there.
And it's incredible.
This is the United States.
We're not at war.
This is not a war crime.
They called it an insurrection.
It's not an insurrection.
People went there with no intent to harm anybody.
And several people, it appears, were antagonists who said, come on in.
And then Ashley Brabbit was the only one who passed away and was shot.
And that guy got off scot-free, and he's a policeman.
It's stunning.
I just don't know how... We're in America.
Well, I can understand, and Shelly, we're getting close to the end here.
But Shelly, thanks for your call.
And you brought up a great point.
And I think one of the things, look, as a defense attorney, one of the things I want to say is, if they've committed a crime, then you prosecute the crime.
You do it through the proper due process.
You go to trial.
You do what you need to do.
But keeping them there simply because you, quote, are gathering more evidence or doing other things is not right.
And I think this is the problem that you're going to see.
There are, as Shelly said, I think In this case, again, without, you know...
You know, pride or prejudice, either way, the law is supposed to be carried out equally.
And if there is a case to be made, if they committed a crime, then they should have already had their cases heard.
I've had cases in Georgia of murder that went to trial faster than some of these folks.
So again, that's just a statement, not a right or wrong, but just simply that criminal justice system needs to work.
Folks, it has been an honor to sit in for the last couple of days for Dr. Gorka and here on America First.
Again, find me at repdougcollins on Twitter.
You can find me at the Doug Collins podcast.
And I will be again with you hopefully soon, but you have a great time.
Dr. Gorka will be back tomorrow.
It has been an honor and a pleasure.
