The mayor is calling the major police response to the Portland protest in large part successful.
Groups of far-right extremists and counter-protesters facing off today, making people there afraid.
Political violence is routine in Portland now.
Yesterday was no exception.
There was a lot of fear of there being massive bloodshed, and in the end, nobody was killed.
And apparently, here that just means it was a success.
It's not surprising that Trump would side away from the folks who are the peaceful protesters working to safeguard their city from domestic terrorism.
