Tim Walz's statement that 'one person's socialism is another person's neighborliness' was taken out of context from a fundraising call where he was encouraging voters to engage with undecided people.

But you might notice again that Alex is playing a very short, out-of-context clip to characterize Walls here. This was something that he said on the white dudes for Kamala Harris fundraising call, and it's actually kind of poking fun at people who just call everything socialism. They probably are in favor of a particular policy like social security, but they're taught to respond negatively to the word socialism when in reality, it's just being a good neighbor. Children should eat, right? Socialize up! Wait, no, you actually are lampooning that in what he's saying. One person's socialism is another person's being neighborly. The larger context of what he's saying was encouraging people to get out and knock on doors to talk to undecided voters and voters in red areas because they aren't bad people. They aren't all Trump. They're people who have real concerns and real needs, many of which are better served by left-leaning policies, and it might be possible to reach them.
