They would like us to believe that Putin wants to take over all of Ukraine and install a puppet government so that he can restore the faded glory of the great Soviet Union. Like he said, first of all, he can't even economically afford that. Secondarily, let us listen to what he is saying over and over and over again. When he says he doesn't want Ukraine to join NATO, what he is saying is he doesn't want Western missiles on his border. This is identical to what President John F. Kennedy said in 1962 when he said he did not want Russian missiles 90 miles off the shore of the United States. This is all about that. And he said it over and over again, but that gets extrapolated to he wants to take over Ukraine. I don't believe so. If Ukraine would merely agree essentially not to put missiles on the border of Russia, this entire thing could be averted.
