There's a lot of controversy with the World Health Organization and their definition of pandemic. Many at the World Health Organization say they don't really have a definition, but they have descriptions of what constitutes a pandemic. And they all own the board game. That is true. Yes. Generally, the guideline that people go by is that, you know, the six-phase model that we discussed on the last episode. Phase six in a pandemic is the pandemic phase in an outbreak, which is characterized by a quote, virus causing community-level outbreaks in at least two World Health Organization regions. According to that definition, the coronavirus outbreak does not constitute a pandemic at this point. There is a community-level outbreak in China, but we do not have evidence that is the case in any other region where there have been cases confirmed. So even if Alex wants to talk about the World Health Organization's definition, it doesn't apply.
