The Mahatma Gandhi Award is awarded by the Gandhi Global Family, an NGO that works with the UN, not by the Gandhi family.
But Alex is kind of wrong. It's not given out by the Gandhi family. I would not be surprised if that was the case. It's awarded by the Gandhi Global Family, which is an NGO that works with the UN.
