The event was organized by the Harvard Black Students Association and was just about celebrating the achievements of black graduating students. But literally, everyone was welcome. An important distinction is that, quote, no degrees were conferred during the ceremony because it wasn't an actual graduation ceremony. It was a celebration being held by a student organization.
