Physically beating an abusive man does not cause him to realize his error and stop the abuse.
It doesn't usually work that like a physically violent, abusive man gets beat up by other men, and then he's like, oh, I've realized the error of my way. Yeah, no kidding. That doesn't work. It doesn't happen like that.
