A baron is the lowest rank in the British peerage system, not the third in charge.
Barons are not the third in charge. Alex is just exploiting the fact that this audience has no idea what any of these things mean, and they're just blindly trusting the shit that Alex makes up so he can sound smart. Yeah. There are five titles of peerage for males in the United Kingdom. Sure. Top to bottom, there's Duke, Marquise, Earl, Viscount, and Baron. The baron is the lowest in this scheme.
