Now I hear you, you say you are a venerable ancient, you are 34,000 years old.
How can you say that you're a sensitive young man?
Well, it's a state of mind.
So there you have it.
That's the reason I label myself thus.
So anyway, perhaps you've seen already we've had a great release of linen and some other garments on Legio Gloria, Legiogloria.com.
So to celebrate this fact, I thought to make this video, elaborate a bit on linen itself and I will give the story of how I came to fall in love with the material with linen.
So we need to go back to the year 2019.
I started reading up a bit more.
I wanted to take my game as a fashion designer to the next level as a business owner of a clothing company.
I thought this is time to step up.
So I started researching a bit some traditional good European materials to use and I got into linen and yeah started reading up on the history as well and as you all know I'm an enthusiast of history.
I like when something has a long and venerable history.
Linen definitely has and I designed the first linen shirt then perhaps you remember it.
I redesigned it later on to make it a bit more spacious across the chest.
So that was the sky blue linen shirt.
So that's available in a new cut as well.
So anyway that was my first real test as a clothing designer.
I remade it into the perfection you see before you at the moment.
So anyway I started wearing linen and I fell in love with it.
It was something that went beyond the merely physical.
So if you touch it, so if you feel linen, it's not necessarily softer than cotton, but something when wearing it it makes you feel great mate.
And I can definitely understand that it's been a sacred material for a very long time in Europe and outside of Europe in Egypt as well for example.
So there is something I can only explain via spirituality.
The esoteric qualities, the metaphysical qualities of linen.
I will get back to it.
I must study it more, but what I can say now is at least that it feels great to wear.
And of course if you wear it in warm weather it also feels quite nice because it lets you breathe.
So perfect for summer.
Wool in winter, linen in summer.
Good stuff, good stuff.
So we have some new releases.
This fine lichen linen shirt right here, very summery and nice, fits well with the new linen trousers as well, which is I redesigned them a bit.
So the previous edition they were a bit shorter, these are a bit longer.
I've optimized the cut over the legs as well so they look absolutely clean.
You can make you can iron a line on them as well for an extra clean look.
And you can of course pair them with any of the linen shirts.
So I got a question from rival Horse Lord on X.
He asked, what's a good setup for a good look, a good linen look?
And it's quite simple, straightforward.
Just one of these shirts and a pair of trousers.
And then you can have sandals or minorkinas.
Got this in Spain by the way a few years back.
So to get that nice summary look.
So quite simple and straightforward.
Then you have a white shirt as well.
And this is the picture I labeled just a sensitive young man.
I thought it fitted.
We have also Persian blue one in long sleeve, very popular colour.
The short sleeve is an updated version on a previous edition we had, so a bit more space around the arms because of course Legiugloria enthusiasts they have good guns so to speak.
So speaking of which the Legio Gloria garments, including the linen shirts, they are, the cut is made to accommodate for an athletic physique.
So not a bodybuilder physique per se, but more of an athletic physique.
So that's something to keep in mind.
And also, if you are looking to get some shirts and if you're unsure about the sizing, you can go with a size larger.
Linen is more comfortable if it's a bit looser.
I have extra large in this, I wear extra large in basically all garments.
Now, something else to keep in mind when we're talking about linen: that it's expected for linen garments to get to get a bit wrinkly if you wear them throughout the day.
But cultured gentlemen and ladies will know this, so it's not a big deal if your garment gets a bit wrinkly if you've worn it for a while.
You can just iron them in the morning and then have it on for the day.
And yeah, it's a nice summary casual look.
Now, also, we have a restock of our beloved classic, the navy blue fleur-de-lis.
We also have a new garment, the same model in burgundy, so really happy with those as well.
