Quentin Carter here with Infowars 2017 NRA annual meeting.
My bud, Kit Cope, world-famous guy, hard man, doing man things, right?
Doing man things.
Do we have to say things?
Doing man things?
No, you can say what you're saying.
Okay, so we're doing man shit.
We do man shit.
That's what we do, you know?
So basically, man, what I want to do is talk to you for a split second, allow you the opportunity to tell the people how you feel and why you feel the Second Amendment is important.
Man.
Okay, I think the most common misconception about the Second Amendment is that people think that we need the Second Amendment so that we can carry guns around everywhere, which, yeah, is part of it.
But the most important part about the Second Amendment, and the reason that the Second Amendment was created, was that we need to be able to defend ourselves.
Being the citizenry, we need to be able to defend ourselves against a tyrannical government because, and I'm not saying that our government is tyrannical right now, but what I am saying is that the forefathers of our country saw that, hey, the system that we're putting in place, it's the best system, it's a really good system, but it is fallible.
And it does have a clock on it.
It does expire.
And eventually it's going to expire.
And that's going to kind of come in the form of tyranny.
And so the swamp drain that's happening right now is going to be necessary.
And we're going to need possibly to defend ourselves against a tyrannical government, which we've had to do in the past.
The answer for anything, but the possibility of it, the threat of it, is absolutely necessary in securing and maintaining our freedom.
But you have the inherent right of self-defense, right?
Absolutely.
You have kids, you have a wife, you are trained, like you have a much higher level of training than the majority of injury.
So you would be comfortable, as I am comfortable, in most situations with just my hands.
Most situations.
Most situations.
We're both realistic and enough to know when we are outgunned.
Maybe we're not smart enough to always choose when, but we know.
So tell me how the Second Amendment ensures your other amendments, your freedom of speech, right?
I can tell you anything you want.
You can say anything you want to me.
We're grown-ups.
We can have this discussion.
Some people act differently when they're told something they don't like.
So why isn't it important that the Second Amendment keeps your First Amendment for you?
Oh, man.
That actually really stretches out deep.
So there's a reason why the First Amendment was created as the First Amendment, because I guess that was the most oppression that we were getting before we became a free country.
And then the Second Amendment was the second in line for the direct purpose of ensuring that we get to keep the first one.
Right.
So without the second, do you believe we could maintain the first?
You know what?
Without the second, I don't really believe that we can maintain most of them.
