Time Text
Hello, local citizens in North Central Florida.
My name is Stasha Rudolph, and I'm here to tell you about a big problem in Bradford County.
I'm a resident of Melrose, Florida, which is in Bradford County, and this problem is really big, as in 11,000 acres of a phosphate strip mine proposed for Bradford and Union County.
Union County said, this doesn't smell right.
Let's do a year moratorium.
Oh, and then a second year moratorium so we could really work on our land use regulations to protect our water and our wetlands and our aquifer.
Bradford County took a different approach.
They said, oh, waltz right in and do a permit, do another permit, predatory mine company, under the shill of a local company called HSP. And even the county attorney says, yes, let us help you by establishing a quasi-judicial situation where now no representative of the county No Bradford County Commissioner can even talk about the proposed mine to local citizens that are concerned.
Hmm.
And then we were supposed to have a workshop so the mining company could tell us how great this phosphate strip mine is.
Hmm.
Workshop canceled.
So now, two years into this, we ask ourselves, what is going on?
We read all about phosphate strip mining and how DeSoto County said no.
Four to one.
The County Commission said no to Mosaic's mine.
Expansion plan.
So Mosaic Mine and other mining companies are looking for virgin turf and they've settled on Bradford County because it's an easy mark.
What to do?
Well, there is one thing you can do and it's really easy.
It's vote for me for County Commissioner.
Now you're going to have to do a little work because I'm a write-in candidate.
So here I'm showing you what to do.
It's County Commissioner, District 4.
Right underneath Danny Riddick's name, there's a spot for a write-in candidate.
Write in my name, Stasha Rudolph.
And make sure you color in the little circle.
I am not afraid of predatory mining companies, and I will not listen to bad advice from county attorneys.
I do not want a phosphate strip mine.
Many people don't.
And I say, just say no.
And write me in Stasha Rudolph, District 4 County Commissioner, and I will fight for clean water and no phosphate strip mine.
