When Rhetoric Turns Deadly: Minneapolis, ICE, and the Media’s Rush to Judgment

Sean Hannity examines the Minneapolis ICE agent shooting amid a surge of inflammatory rhetoric from Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey, comparing ICE to Nazis and Holocaust regimes. He ties this to rising crimes by unvetted illegals—20 homicides in Chicago since January 7th, yet no media outrage—while ICE arrests linked to Minnesota’s sanctuary policies include rape, drug trafficking, and assault. Encrypted Signal groups allegedly orchestrate protests against ICE raids, escalating violence like a maimed agent after a protester attack. Hannity warns defunding ICE worsens safety, accusing Democrats of exploiting moral panic over Minneapolis while ignoring broader urban crime trends, demanding accountability from politicians to curb the cycle. Governor Newsom Meets Sparkle Beach Ken 00:01:54
This is an iHeart podcast.
Guaranteed human.
And then after the war, which we won, we won it big.
Without us, right now you'd all be speaking German and a little Japanese, perhaps.
This is diplomacy with Donald Trump.
He's a T-Rex.
You mate with him or he devours you.
One or the other.
I think it's very, very ironic that, you know, Governor Newsom, who strikes me as Patrick Bateman, meets Sparkle Beach Ken.
Freedom is back in style.
Welcome to Revolution.
More behind the scenes information on breaking news and more bold, inspired solutions for America.
All right.
Thank you, Scott Shannon.
Thanks to all of you for being with us.
Write down our toll-free telephone number.
If you want to be a part of the program, it's 800-941 Sean.
If you want to join us, it is always sad.
It is always tragic.
I am pro-life when somebody dies.
I have spent hours watching every angle of every video that has been made available.
Predicting Tragedy 00:15:24
And in many ways, from my perspective, not being there and with the history that we have on this program of not rushing to judgment, I can't give you a conclusive decision, but I can tell you some things that are just dramatically wrong with all that's been going on in Minneapolis and all that's been going on with reckless politicians.
And more importantly, this shooting did not happen in a vacuum.
Now, we do have audio of the shooting that took place in Minneapolis this weekend.
Let me play it for you.
What the f*** is wrong with you?
Honestly.
What the f?
Now, there has, again, this, this is not happening in a vacuum.
Sadly, these events, the confrontations, the rhetoric, all, in my view, has led up to what can be a very predictable outcome.
And it's all preventable, which is the worst part of this.
And I'm going to explain this in great specificity and detail.
And it has to come to an end.
And, you know, I understand that the president says that he and Walls agreed to fully cooperate with the feds amid the crackdown.
I mean, this is a guy that was making more Nazi comparisons, you know, yesterday.
So I really don't have a lot of faith.
We are learning.
Foxnews.com has put out a piece that you have the signal chats that have been ongoing.
And anytime there's any ICE action, almost immediately the organizers, agitators show up for the purpose of disrupting law enforcement from doing their job, and that has not been stopped.
A Minnesota Antifa militia, according to the post-millennial, described anti-militant wearing a bulletproof vest, publicly calling on others to mobilize and shut up.
I'm sorry, suit up in Minneapolis urging violence against law enforcement and federal immigration authorities and other instances of now, you know, individuals arming themselves to basically be in a confrontation with ICE.
You know, we'll find out what happens, whether or not this productive call, as the president says with Tim Walz, means anything.
I don't really trust the guy that has referred to ICE as the Gestapo and as Nazis.
I really don't.
You know, but I want to just start with this idea and this understanding.
I want everyone to understand something here because you have to go back and look at how did we get in this situation?
How did all of this happen?
You know, the media is just so wrong in their agenda.
If you look at the reason we have been proven right on this program historically is we don't rush to judgment.
You know, from the day that Richard Jewell was described by the Atlanta Journal Constitution as he fits the profile of the lone bomber, and that became the gist of the reporting and the hero guard, and he was a hero in what happened at the Olympic bombing.
You know, all the way through, all the times the media rushes to judgment.
Ferguson, Missouri, hands up, don't shoot, never happened.
It never happened.
And I was told from the beginning, working sources on the ground in Ferguson telling me that there were multiple witnesses that were coming forward that were on the record that were backing up the story of Officer Darren Wilson,
that in fact, you know, the individual involved was actually rushing towards him and that the first shot fired was a result of this guy, you know, Michael Brown reaching into the officer's car, and that's when the first shot went off.
Then, you know, racing towards the office.
And we had multiple eyewitnesses.
And all those people, hands up, don't shoot, is never true.
We were told Freddie Gray in Baltimore that there's going to be convictions of six officers.
There was no convictions.
There never was going to be a conviction in that case.
Duke La Crosse, you had all the professionals.
Everybody believed that these lacrosse players were guilty of what was, you know, an incident that never happened.
And by the way, years and years later, just maybe a year ago, the woman involved said, no, it was not true.
I lied.
You know, the same thing with the UVA, the same thing with Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman.
They always get it wrong.
And there's a reason they rush to judgment.
Now, you can't look at this shooting in a vacuum.
You simply can't.
And this is why the legacy media is just so pathetically, overtly political.
They only want you to myopically focus on this one shooting with no regard at all whatsoever to everything that has led up to all of this this weekend and why this happened.
And as usual, they ignore all the shootings, every murder, every single weekend.
You know, go back to when the incident with Renee Good accelerating her car at an officer, law enforcement officer.
That was January 7th.
Well, did you know that since January 7th, do you have any idea?
Can anyone listening to my voice right now guess how many people were shot and killed in Chicago?
Because I can tell you, 20 people were shot and killed in Chicago.
Chicago Police Department reported nine homicides.
Seven people were fatally shot in one period, January 18th, within 18 hours.
Can anybody name a single person?
And this has gone on for decades in Chicago, Obama's hometown.
And we'd scroll the names of people shot and shot and killed in any given weekend.
You can predict how many people will be shot and killed.
Now, I have a list of every victim that was murdered in Chicago since January 7th.
I have that list.
15 fatal shootings since January in New York City.
You know the names of any of them?
I have the list of names in front of me.
You know, the same thing, 14 homicides in Los Angeles.
You have five homicides in Philadelphia, homicides in San Francisco, and you never hear their names.
Why is that?
Why is it you only hear about Minneapolis now?
Because they can politicize it and weaponize it, and they think this will help them gain political power.
Now, keep that in mind, because this is what we always refer to as selective, feigned, moral outrage.
And you started on the date of the Renee Good shooting and how many people were killed in these blue states and blue cities, and there's not a peep, and there's not a protest.
Just like all the protests, all the people in Gaza that were being killed.
Well, where are all those protesters on all those college campuses as the mullahs in Iran have been slaughtering students that have been fighting for their freedom and protesting peacefully in Iran?
Not a peep out of one of them.
Selective, feigned, moral outrage.
Ask yourself, why hasn't a single Democrat said a word about any of the shootings in any of these cities in the interim?
Minneapolis is not our only city.
Why don't we know the names of these victims?
Why?
Because they can't politicize and weaponize those shootings, and they can't blame ICE, DHS, and Trump.
But they want you to believe that they are the great arbiters of moral compassion and love life so much.
And they speak out against injustice.
This has been going on for decades in Chicago.
Nobody lifts a finger to stop the madness there.
You know, now, you can't, how did we get here?
How did this all happen?
We had, under Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Alejandre Mayorkis, wide open borders.
That was their policy.
For four years, we talked about it on this radio show.
For four years, we showed you the images on TV.
For four years, they lied again and again and again and told you not to believe what your eyes were showing you.
This is foundationally where all of the unvetted illegals were allowed into this country, estimated to be 12 million and God knows how many gotaways from over 200 countries, including known terrorists, murderers, rapists, convicted, you know, other violent criminals.
Why didn't this Democratic Party stand for Lake and Riley's family or Jocelyn Nungarry's family?
They care so much about the lives of victims, but only if it fits their political narrative.
And that's a big part of the story.
Millions of unvetted people.
Now, Donald Trump, ICE, DHS, they're trying to clean up the mess and get rid of these criminals.
Now, I have a list of the worst illegals arrested in Minnesota since Donald Trump's become president.
Everything from homicide and rape and child molestation and child rape and then DUI, larceny, assault, fraud, domestic violence, you know, rape, rape, million rape.
I mean, it's just, this is just in Minneapolis.
So in other words, Minnesota is more safe, and this is in Minnesota.
This is only Minnesota is more safe and secure because Donald Trump has committed himself to finding these violent criminals and that are here illegally, that were allowed in by Democrats that denied it was happening.
Here's Democrats.
This is what they told you for four years about illegal immigration.
It sounds to most folks like a crisis.
Well, look, it's way down now.
We've now gotten control.
Precisely that.
The border is closed, nor could I have been clearer and continued to be so, which is the border is closed.
The United States will continue to enforce our laws and secure our border.
The border, we are working to make the border more secure.
You're confident this border is secure?
We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours in our administration.
We agree that the border is secure.
The border was never secure, and we have the video to prove it.
The results have been a predictable disaster.
The list of victims a mile long.
Murders, rape, child rapists, gang members, cartel members, drug dealers, all arrested by brave law enforcement agents and ICE and the Department of Homeland Security.
In other words, they are fixing the mess.
That's why you can't view this in a vacuum.
ICE is cleaning up the mess Democrats created and lied about and the radical left created and lied about, especially these elected officials in sanctuary cities and sanctuary states that have been out there calling ICE agents Nazis and fascists and Gestapo and whipping the public's mind into a frenzy.
And that is called incitement.
And that is dehumanizing.
And when you take hard-earned taxpayer money, remember Timmy Walls, who called ICE Nazis and Gestapo, and now is making Anne Frank comparisons, who was murdered because she was Jewish.
You know, Tim Walz was the one that wanted to give free taxpayer-funded college tuition to illegals.
His running may Kamala Harris free taxpayer-funded sex change operations to illegals.
Now they're out there calling them Gestapo, Nazi fascist, which is incitement.
It's dehumanizing.
And that makes what happened this weekend predictable.
ICE agents have been pelted with rocks, impeded by protesters.
They're regularly being attacked.
The left created apps to warn people of pending raids.
They have signal chat groups now we're learning that that tell people where the action is so they can show up and and create more problems.
I do feel sorry for any loss of life, but let me tell you as a gun owner and somebody that's had a pistol carry permit in six states and has one today is you if you have to practice safety and security.
I have no problem with this guy having a firearm at all.
But I have said many times on this program: if I'm on video and I have concealed carry, and I would, and if I would look like the biggest coward, if I saw an opportunity to run tail and just look like a gutless coward rather than engage, I would do that.
When I get pulled over by police, when I used to get pulled over, I don't get pulled over anymore because I don't speed.
And I had a firearm with me in a holster or in a glove compartment.
First thing, hands out the window.
Second thing, officer, I'm a licensed concealed carry.
I have a concealed carry permit.
Officer, I have a loaded gun in the car.
I have done that in my life.
You take extra care and you have an extra added responsibility as a gun owner.
People call me, what gun should I get?
Which gun are you willing to get trained in the safe use of and storage of?
Because that's the one you might want to get and training of.
Anyway, we'll continue.
We have a lot to get.
Because, you know, I'm disgusted by the lack of context, understanding the root cause of all of this and the reckless rhetoric of the left has done nothing but pour gasoline on a fire.
Now, look, a lot of you are still suffering under the Biden-Harris economy, but help is on the way.
You see inflation down, gas prices down.
We got trillions of dollars in new manufacturing coming online this year.
We've got the largest tax cuts in history now in effect.
I read this morning people are going to get the biggest refunds than they had last year, average increase of $1,000.
I want to go back to this whole thing, and I don't think things are going to calm down.
Looking now, hang on, sweet baby James, just put this in front of me.
Tim Walz compares ICE actions to the Holocaust.
Tim Walz's Holocaust Comparison 00:09:15
He did this yesterday.
You know, and if you ever read a diary of Anne Frank, Anne Frank was killed because she was Jewish.
You know, how many more Nazi analogies is this idiot going to make before we realize?
The DHS has confirmed there is body cam footage of the shooting that took place.
Department of Homeland Security confirmed the existence of body camera footage.
I'm not sure when they're going to release that.
This guy, apparently, that was shot was in possession of the firearm during the altercation.
I mean, we really do need to have a conversation.
I am as pro-Second Amendment as anybody on the air.
I've had a license to carry in New York City, which is very hard to get.
You need a lot of death threats to get it.
I don't have it anymore.
I surrendered it when I left the state.
And I had a license to carry when I lived in Rhode Island.
I had a license to carry even in California in the 80s when I lived there.
A license to carry in Alabama.
A license to carry in Georgia.
A license to carry, again, in my free state of Florida that I have today.
If you take on that responsibility, you have got to be trained in the safe use of a firearm and you have got to use the best judgment.
And In this case, what is so frustrating to me is this individual who I wish was alive today, I wish did not resist when he was with law enforcement.
If you have a firearm, you have an extra responsibility to avoid any confrontation at all costs.
And I have stated many times on this program: knowing my ability to defend myself in situational self-defense, knowing that I have a carry permit and usually am carrying a firearm, I take that responsibility of de-escalation on my shoulders.
And that's, you know, I've described to you in detail what happens when I used to speed and I'd get pulled over by a cop and I had a licensed loaded firearm with me and how much care you have to have when dealing with law enforcement because anytime they pull somebody over, any time that they meet somebody in the public, they have no idea what they are dealing with.
And in this situation here, it is, you know, it's just a typical rush to judgment.
I think we need time.
We need facts.
We need details.
But it can't get any more chaotic.
You know, this insane Democratic obsession of maintaining sanctuary city policies.
Get the F out of Minneapolis.
Well, under the Constitution, the Supremacy Clause gives the jurisdiction to enforce federal laws to the federal government.
Democrats, now, they're threatening to back out of this bipartisan agreement to fund the DHS.
Okay, well, Abschumer shut down 2.0.
The same Democrats that lied to us for four years and said the border was closed and border was secure.
That was reckless, irresponsible.
They allowed in known terrorists, murderers, rapists, cartel members, gang members, other violent criminals, and drug dealers.
And now Donald Trump is trying to do a very difficult job and find them.
And he's doing so, and he's doing so very successfully, I might add.
And I've gone through and we'll show you again tonight all of the examples of people whose lives have been saved because of President Trump and because of ICE and what they've been able to do.
And it's just very frustrating that you have groups of people that are trying to, again, the same groups of people.
They don't say a word for 20 years.
All these people that are shot, shot and killed, you know, in every Democratic town and city, not a peep out of them.
Do they really care about all lives mattering?
No.
Or do they care about the instances when they can politicize it and weaponize it because they think it will give them some type of political gain?
Now, the president did say that he had a good call with Tim Walz.
I don't think you can have a good call with Tim Walz when he's now comparing Minnesota ICE actions to the Holocaust and Ann Frank hiding in their houses.
I have a list in front of me.
I actually just texted 16 pages to my My friend Stephen A. Smith of the worst illegals arrested in Minnesota since Donald Trump got back in office.
I mean, we have all these illegals, 12 plus million of them, and the worst of the worst, even known terrorists.
And these crimes are, you know, unbelievable.
Arrested administrative, let's see, criminal sex conduct, fourth degree, victim 13 to 15 years old.
Homicide, larceny, domestic violence, aggravated assault, assault, domestic violence, DUI, damaging property, violating probation, larceny, fraud, assault, conspiracy to import cocaine,
domestic assault, you know, sexual abuse of a minor, sexual conduct, third degree, force or coercion, second-degree murder, third-degree felony assault, more domestic violence, sexual offense against a child, burglary, larceny, rape.
I mean, manslaughter, homicide, negligent manslaughter, you know, more drug crimes than I can, you know, possibly mention, more rape cases than I can possibly mention.
These are the people that ICE have been gravely trying to, you know, protect the people of Minnesota from, and they've been doing so successfully.
Convicted pedophiles, sex predators arrested in Minnesota, immigration sweep within the last 24 hours.
DHS begging, you know, Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Smallfry to honor ICE detainers on more than 1,360 illegals that they are protecting.
Now, the president did deploy the Borders Arch Tom Holman to Minnesota, but Tom Holman, who was once honored by Barack Obama for his great service, Obama did the same thing.
Not going to criticize Obama for controlling the borders.
He used ICE agents the exact same way to let them do their job.
But of course, they wouldn't make a fuss out of it because they can't get any political gain out of it.
You know, this democratic-backed chaos is being whipped up by people that should be far more responsible than this, but they cannot control themselves.
Now we have stories out today.
Community members with rifles standing guard in Minneapolis where this R-Man was shot.
This is a recipe for disaster.
Another story: how protesters stormed a Minnesota hotel where they suspect ICE agents are staying, unrest following the shooting that took place, and protesters bashing windows, spray painting the hotel's, you know, I guess, lobby, others chanting, pacing in front of the building, many of the mob wearing masks descending, some of them armed, and, you know, demanding threatening ICE agents at the highest level.
Anti-ICE agitators clashing with these federal agents in this hotel.
Agents then have to deploy tear gas and flashbangs.
One former ICE agent calls police non-cooperation a formula for disaster.
Now the police want nothing to do with ICE, you know, so they hand out donuts and coffee to the people that are intimidating ICE and throwing rocks at ICE.
ICE says a violent mob helped a criminal escaped and left an ICE agent permanently maimed.
In that case, officials, you know, say violent unrest derailed an immigration arrest, the suspect with a serious criminal history at large, while an ICE agent was permanently maimed after a protester bit off his finger.
Oh, I guess that's not going to be reported by the mainstream media.
That doesn't fit their narrative.
And here's the worst part of all of it.
You know, there's a far-left network, according to Foxnews.com, where encrypted signal messages now show rapid responders mobilizing demonstrators to harass federal agents, and then socialist groups capitalizing on the killing to foment protests.
So, what they're doing is exactly what that app that they had created some time ago nationwide, and they are tipping off anybody in any community where they think an ICE raid might be happening, which eliminates their element of surprise, which puts them in more danger and more jeopardy.
They're purposefully declaring war.
And for Bill Clinton and Obama to urge Americans to speak out, why are they all of a sudden getting involved in all of this?
War Of Words 00:03:39
Why?
Because they want to weaponize it and politicize it, and they hate that Donald Trump beat them.
And they just don't like Trump either.
Meanwhile, Obama did the same exact thing.
The same Barack Obama for eight years as president.
I scrolled the names of all the people shot and shot and killed in his hometown of Chicago.
He never lifted a finger to help Chicago.
I think he mentioned Chicago two, maybe three times during his entire presidency.
And every weekend, people are being shot, shot, and killed in his home city.
It's pretty remarkable.
Why is Bill Clinton upset?
Oh, that's right.
He's been held in contempt of Congress.
Doesn't shock me he's mad either.
You know, Democrats now vowing to not fund ICE.
Okay, well, does that make American towns and cities more safe and more secure considering all the people that they allowed into this country unvetted?
No, it does not.
Is that the answer?
No, that's a bunch of petulant children that are having a temper tantrum because they're not getting their way.
And again, they think there's a political benefit behind all of this.
By the way, while we're talking about it, the Department of Health and Human Services has warned Minnesota they're going to have to repay hundreds of millions of dollars, if not billions, if the state refuses to hand over child care center records amid this widening fraud.
Anyway, Alex Adams, Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services, which provided all of this taxpayer funding for youth services for fiscal year 2025, you know, said they have 60 days to fork over the records.
But we already know these daycare centers didn't have children in it.
One federal investigator says an LA homeless charity boss pocketed $10 million in taxpayer cash.
When we get to the bottom of this institutionalized fraud in Minnesota, states like California, Illinois, New York, you're next.
The Trump administration, I mean, it just never ends.
Now, I hope and I pray that this would come to an end.
But as long as you have politicians like Mayor French Fry and Tim Walz and sanctuary states and sanctuary cities and degrading, inciting, demonizing, slandering, besmirching of ICE agents the way we currently have, it's never, ever going to get better.
Now, the only other option is, oh, okay, don't enforce the law and allow people that don't respect our laws, borders, and sovereignty, including those that have committed the worst crimes, murder, rape, kidnapping, child rape, to go free.
The Democratic Party is now the party of sanctuary cities and sanctuary states.
They are the party that wants to protect the worst of the worst illegals.
The same people that want taxpayer-funded sex change operations for illegals and taxpayer-funded college tuition for illegals, the same people that lied for four years about open borders, the same people now are protecting them, the same people that are providing taxpayer-funded health care, education, other welfare benefits to illegals.
And I guess that's the hill they think will help them win the election.
I don't know.
Now, is ICE perfect?
They're not.
Can they do a better job?
They can.
The Party of Sanctuary Cities 00:02:48
Do I think that, you know, some of the optics at times, do I think that going into Home Depots and arresting people there is a good idea?
I don't.
I don't think the people that, if you're working at a place, you're not the immediate problem.
Eventually, we'll have to deal with those people that didn't respect our laws, borders, and sovereignty.
There's got to be a program where people get to come forward.
I think they should then be given transportation home.
They can get a check for, what, $2,000, and they can apply to come back in the country legally.
We can vet them.
We can do a health check on them and make sure they won't be a financial burden on the American people.
I think that'd be a more responsible, reasonable way to deal with that problem.
Now, you see that there are very dark, evil people in this world.
There are.
And you do need to understand that there are people that want to kill you, kill your family, and destroy your life and everything, and take your life.
Well, that's where SIGSAUR comes in.
I've had a license to carry a pistol my entire life.
And I urge you to always have a plan, personal safety, security plan for you and your family.
And that's where SIGSAUR comes in.
And by the way, if you are going to get a weapon, prepare, you know, train in the safe use of that weapon.
Now, if you haven't made plans for 2026, well, SIGSAUR, the brand I trust, 270-year history of precision, craftsmanship, quality, reliability.
It is the choice of the U.S. military.
