Time Text
This is an iHeart podcast.
The best of Sean Hannity is on now.
We're coming to your city.
Country sound.
And if you want a little bang in your yin yang, come along.
They understand that we have a Timu Hitler in the White House right now that thinks that he is going to become the dictator of the United States.
The time is up for playing in our faces.
He has to be brought down.
And I don't mean physically.
I'm talking about politically.
We will bring him down.
He will be impeached again.
We have a consolidating dictatorship in our country.
And it sounds melodramatic to say it.
I know.
Freedom is back in style.
Welcome.
More behind the scenes information on breaking news and more bold, inspired solutions for America.
All right.
Thank you, Scott Shannon.
Thanks to all of you for being with us.
Write down our toll-free telephone number if you want to be a part of the program.
It's 800-941 Sean, if you want to join us now.
The president, Donald Trump, has said today that he has directed the Department of Commerce to launch preparations for a new and highly accurate national census, according to a post that he put on his Truth Social account.
I'll read it to you.
It says, I have instructed our Department of Commerce to immediately begin work on a new and highly accurate census based on modern-day facts and figures.
And importantly, using the results and information gained from the presidential election of 2024, he said people who are in the country illegally will not be counted in the census.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Now, what is interesting in all of this, under the U.S. Constitution, the U.S. Census Bureau is required to conduct a count every 10 years of every resident of the country, regardless of citizenship or legal status.
Now, the census is used to determine how many members of Congress are elected from each state.
And there's one little problem when you get to all of this.
Illegal immigrants should not be counted and used to create congressional districts.
They're not in the country illegally.
Now, all of this stems from the fact that what the Democrats have mastered, which is gerrymandering, what they have been experts at, which is gerrymandering, what they have done in every blue state has been effective in taking away representation from Republicans in all of these states.
I've been giving you the numbers.
I won't stop giving you the numbers.
New York, for example, in that particular state, and I think New York is representative of many.
If you look at Republicans for House seats, they won 42% of the vote.
They only have statewide 27% of the seats available.
But it's a nationwide trend.
California, Republicans, for House votes, they win 39% of the vote.
They have only 17% of the states.
In Connecticut, Republicans won a respectable 40% of the House vote.
They have zero seats.
Illinois, the most gerrymandered map or state in the country, Republicans won a very respectable 47% of the statewide vote, but they only have 18% of congressional seats.
Maryland, they won 35%, but they only have 12% of representation of Republicans.
Massachusetts, and this is what's funny about the governor of Massachusetts saying, we've got to fight fire with fire.
Okay, in the state of Massachusetts, Trump won 36% of the vote.
They don't have one Republican, have not had a Republican congressional seat going back to the 1990s.
New Jersey, Republicans get 45% of the House vote.
They have 27%.
In Nevada, Republicans won the statewide House vote by 10 points, walked away with one single House seat in the whole state.
New Mexico, 45%.
Statewide House vote, zero seats.
Oregon, 42%.
Statewide House vote, 17% of the seats.
Washington State, 42%.
Statewide House vote, less than half of that, 20% of the seats.
That's it.
And now the Massachusetts governor is actually, Healy is threatening to redistrict her state, even though it now has zero Republican House members.
One Texas Democrat comparing Republican redistricting and gerrymandering to the Holocaust.
And then James Carville is going full scorched earth and talking about if Democrats get back in power, they will unilaterally add Puerto Rico and D.C. and declare them and give them statehood, which would give Democrats in their minds four additional Senate seats and more congressional representation.
Also talked about expanding the Supreme Court to 13 members, packing the court.
Now, all of this in response to the fact that all that the Texas governor, Greg Abbott, wants to do is follow the same rules that have been applied in blue states to his red state of Texas, and this has sent the Democratic Party spirally.
Anyway, Texas governor, friend of the program, Greg Abbott, is back with us.
Governor, I love everything you do.
It's like when the borders were wide open and you said, okay, well, you're a sanctuary city or state.
We're going to send all of our illegal immigrants to your state.
That was political jiu-jitsu at the highest level.
Well, Sean, I'll tell you, you're doing a great job of exposing the gerrymandering that's taking place across the entire country.
I've got to be honest with you, I think if Texas were not doing redistricting right now, most of America would not know about the facts you just articulated.
And it must be re-emphasized.
All of the large blue states in the country have been gerrymandered to the maximum amount.
And all Texas is really doing is based upon a change in the law, we are no longer requiring coalition districts, and we are able to ensure that voters in the state of Texas who are voting for Congress get to vote for their candidate of choice.
We're creating five new seats where the residents and voters in those districts, they voted for Donald Trump, but they were also, against their will, packed in a district where they had to exist under a Democrat member of Congress.
We're just redrawing the lines as fully authorized by law.
And Texas is nowhere near gone to the extreme ways that you see Massachusetts, New York, Illinois, California, and so many other blue states.
All right.
And by the way, I want to emphasize here, this is perfectly legal.
I had on your Attorney General, Paxton.
He was on.
I had Dan Patrick on.
Again, both emphasizing that this is perfectly legal.
There's nothing Democrats can do.
Instead, they picked up their toys and they went to, of all places, I thought, somewhat ironically, Illinois, where, you know, it's the most gerrymandered state in the country.
Which is amazing unto itself.
They're fleeing.
So Texas is known as a state where you stay and fight.
We're known because of the Battle of the Alamo, where everybody chose to stay and fight, even though they faced a dire outcome.
And now we have Democrats who turn and flee whenever they don't get their way.
And I got to tell you, this is hurting them back in their home districts.
For one, every one of their voters, they have to go to work.
And if their voters don't show up to work, they'll get fired.
These Democrat members of the Texas House, they think they don't have to show up to work.
Their voters will remind them.
Their voters will also remind them they don't like Texas legislators cutting and running.
The last thing I'll tell you, Sean, is this.
We are still grappling with the devastation of the floods that ripped across central Texas, especially the Kerrville area.
I put on this 30-day special session agenda helping to address the victims of this horrific flooding, and the Democrats turned their back on Texans and repairing from the floods.
The reparation from the floods has been slowed because Democrats chose to go to Chicago and New York and other leftist areas.
All right, let's talk about what options you have available to force them back either into the state so you can get a quorum and you can have the vote take place and of course the emergency monies that are needed for the victims of the flood.
By the way, again, Governor, I'll express to you my sincerest prayers and regrets of all that you've gone through there.
It's been very tough for the people of Texas.
I know a lot of people that were very close to the camp that, I think it was Camp Mystic, and all the people that lost loved ones.
It's heartbreaking what happened there.
Well, it's horrendous.
We are still searching for two people who remain missing around the Camp Mystic area, including one of the campers there.
And while that search continues, while we continue the process of rebuilding those communities, we're trying to implement reforms such as warnings and things that would actually save lives.
And these Democrats have chosen to play politics over saving lives by running to Illinois.
And you've got to understand this, Sean.
It's a feudal exercise the Democrats are going through.
They've done this before.
Every time they break quarrel and run off to some of the state, they eventually come back.
And they will come back, whether it be tomorrow, the next day, or next week, whatever the case may be.
But what they did in the meantime, they slowed the recovery process of the people who desperately need it the most.
And the people who are going to remember that here in the upcoming elections will be the voters who knew they had a Democrat who was a chicken, a coward, and they ran off to some other state as opposed to taking care of business.
Let's talk about you going to the state Supreme Court.
What are you asking them to do?
And when do you expect a decision?
I filed a lawsuit in the Texas Supreme Court two days ago requesting the removal of the ringleader of the Democrat operation.
He's the chair of the Democrat caucus.
And there's plenty of evidence to show that he has abandoned his office.
There's a legal term called Pro Waronto.
And that proceeding is brought before the Texas Supreme Court.
I'm allowed to go directly to the Supreme Court as opposed to a trial court to seek the removal.
The same night that I filed that petition in the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court issued an order to this legislator, whose name is Gene Wu, telling Gene Wu he had to respond by tomorrow to the legal action that I've taken.
My point is this.
The Supreme Court of Texas is taking this very serious, looking very closely at the possibility of removing from office the ringleader of the Democrat operation that ran away from Texas, abandoned their duty, and is preventing the Texas legislature from taking action.
One last point about this.
The Texas Constitution is clear.
It says that the legislature shall conduct business and take up bills.
as they arrive and take action on those bills.
And it doesn't say that you can cut and run and prevent action.
They must take action.
So they are in direct violation of the Constitution.
They should be removed from office.
And that's what I'm seeking at the Texas Supreme Court.
Let's just imagine a scenario, and I hope it doesn't come to fruition, where they maybe the court doesn't go your way.
Whenever you get before a court, you never know how it's going to turn out.
And these people just stay away and stay away and stay away and stay away and stay away.
At some point, there's got to be some mechanism to compel them to do their job and show up.
Well, let's talk about what is possible.
And that is, as we're talking on the phone right now, there are Texas law enforcement who are scouring the state of Texas.
We have a dragnet going on around the state looking for some of the Democrat House members who are still here in the state of Texas.
And we will seek to arrest them and bring them to the Texas Capitol.
And we may have enough votes for a quorum sometime soon without even having to worry about these people who ran away from doing their job.
In other words, as a matter of law, you have the ability to pick up elected officials and bring them to the state capitol.
And their very presence is enough to create the quorum that would allow for the vote to go through.
Exactly right.
Well, I hope that happens.
Maybe you can ship them off when it's all said and done to New York like you did the illegal immigrants or California, any sanctuary city or state in the country, and maybe they can stay there if that's where their views are.
I don't know if you saw the article that came out this week.
Did you see 100,000 Californians annually are headed to your state of Texas?
That's a pretty high number.
I know I'm thinking about maybe putting a tariff on them or something like that to raise more revenue for the state of Texas.
A tariff if you want to come to the free state of Texas.
Is that what you're saying?
Exactly.
It's such a big import.
We need to tariff all of our imports.
But all kidding aside, I'm going to tell you something that's very important, and that is, yeah, there are a lot of people leaving California because they cannot stand the leftist government out there.
What some people don't know, and that is there's actually a large number of people leaving Texas and moving to California.
And before they go to California, they know the crazy government they have out there.
So here's the point.
We have a massive exchange program going on where we are getting conservatives from California and California is getting liberals from Texas.
Well, I think that's a fair exchange.
I keep saying if you want to go to Texas, if you want to go to Florida, if you want to go to Tennessee or the Carolinas, it's fine if you come from one of these deep blue states, but don't bring the policies that ruin the state that you're coming from to your new state.
Otherwise, you're not wanted.
Exactly.
And I mean, look at some of the people who have come here.
We've got Elon Musk, Joe Lonsdale, people like that who are heavily involved in what is now Republican politics.
And so we've got some people who are making a difference here in a way that's good for the state, while at the same time, we're losing some leftists who are deciding to move out to California.
That's a fair trade.
And you're going to be a huge beneficiary, this announcement that took place in the Oval Office yesterday with Tim Cook of Apple.
Texas is getting a huge chunk of the billions of dollars.
They're going to build a massive manufacturing center in Texas.
That's exactly right.
So Apple already has massive operations in the state.
They're about to expand it even more with the announcement yesterday.
And it's just a part of the way that Texas is leading the innovation age because Texas ranks number one for semiconductor manufacturing.
We've been number one for more than a decade and number one for semiconductor exports.
We're number one for space.
We're number one for artificial intelligence advancement.
And so everything that's going to be hugely important to the future is taking place right here in the state of Texas.
And now, Texas, we have created our own stock exchange.
And that created competition.
Now, the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ, they've set up operations in Dallas, Texas to compete with the Texas Stock Exchange.
Well, I love my friends in Texas.
God bless Texas.
Again, we're praying for the families that lost loved ones during that terrible flood.
I mean, it was a flash flood at the worst hour of the day.
Maybe it was one in a hundred-year flood.
And our prayers are with the families of the victims and all Texans that have been impacted by this.
Governor, you always show a lot of innovation, a lot of courage.
You think out of the box, I know you'll get over this hump.
And thank you for your political courage that you always show.
We appreciate you.
You got it.
God bless you and God bless your audience.

I have gone over these numbers again and again and again.
And we just had Governor Abbott on earlier on the program today, and I don't think people fully, completely are comprehending why the issue of gerrymandering is critical in terms of what we have, if you're conservative, if you're a Republican, we have been victims of for the longest period of time.
And, you know, this is why when they keep saying, fight fire with fire, let me play a montage of Democrats repeating the same line: fight fire with fire, because Texas is going to do redistricting.
It is called gerrymandering.
Democrats have mastered the art of gerrymandering, but this is they're acting like they're victims in this whole game.
And I, again, will give you the numbers so you know the truth because they're lying through their teeth because this is their practice and has been their practice for a long time.
Listen.
My hope is, and I hear this from everyone everywhere: the Democrats fight back with everything they have, fight fire with fire.
Only if they move forward to dismantling the protocols that are well established, would the state of California move forward in kind, fighting, yes, fire with fire?
If Republicans are willing to rewrite these rules to give themselves an advantage, then they're leaving us no choice.
We must do the same.
There's a phrase: you have to fight fire with fire.
You need to stop him from cheating, from lying, and from stealing the election.
And if they're doing something to add their congressional seats, we need to look at our ways of doing that right now.
This is not the Democratic Party of your grandfather, which would bring a pencil to the knife fight.
This is a new Democratic party.
We're bringing a knife to a knife fight, and we are going to fight fire with fire.
Everything's on the table.
I mean, we look, we got to fight fire with fire.
They've frankly tossed the rule book out.
They tossed the rule book out here.
One Texas Democrat comparing the Republican redistricting to the Holocaust, which is now their basic go-to.
Hitler, Holocaust, Holocaust, Hitler, internment camp, concentration camp.
That's their new racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic.
Add it to that.
So Democrats, James Carville among them, calling on Democrats to unilaterally pack the Supreme Court in response to it.
Now, here's the problem.
They want to fight fire with fire.
Okay, they can fight fire with fire.
There's only one problem.
They don't have any ability to fight fire with fire because they have gerrymandered themselves to death.
I'll give you the examples.
I keep giving these out, but nobody seems to understand it.
Now, in the state of California, the first person to say fight fire with fire was Gavin Newsom.
Republicans won 39% of the House vote seats in California, but they only have 17% of House seats in California.
Why?
Because of gerrymandering.
In the state of Connecticut, Republicans won a respectable 40% of the vote for the House of Representatives.
They have zero seats in Connecticut.
Illinois, maybe the most gerrymandered map in the nation.
Well, Republicans won a very respectable in 2024, 47% of the statewide House vote.
They only have 18% of House of Representatives seats in the state of Illinois.
Maryland, one of the bluest states in the country, again, 35% Republicans win the statewide House vote, but they only have 12% of the seats.
I love Massachusetts.
I love the governor there saying, we're going to fight fire with fire.
We're going to fight back.
Meanwhile, President Trump did win 36% of the vote last year in Massachusetts.
Republicans have zero House seats.
They haven't had a House seat since the 1990s in the state of Massachusetts.
Why?
Because of gerrymandering.
Nevada, okay, Republicans win the statewide House vote by 10 points.
They only walked away with one single House seat.
New Jersey, you heard Corey Booker.
Kamala Harris won only by six points in New Jersey.
Republicans got 45% of the House vote.
They only have three seats, 27%.
New Mexico, 45% of the vote.
And again, a small percentage of the seats there.
New York, okay.
Republicans win 42% of the statewide House vote.
They only have 27% of the seats.
Oregon, 42% of the vote, 17% of the seats.
Washington State, 42% of the nation of the statewide House vote.
They only have 20%, less than half of the seats.
That's gerrymandering that has been mastered by one group of people, and that's the Democrats.
And now, you know, if you listen to the likes of James Carville and others, well, now they're talking about stacking the Supreme Court to create a new blue states to save democracy.
Well, this is their game.
This is their rules.
They built it.
They created it.
And now they're mad that Republicans are playing the game the way they set up the rules.
Anyway, John and Jim McLaughlin are with us.
I know a lot about gerrymandering.
And President Trump announced that he has ordered a rare mid-decade census to exclude illegal immigrants.
By the way, another weapon used by Democrats to cheat as this battle over redistricting between Republicans and Democrats heat up.
By the way, this is not going to be an issue decided by the Supreme Court because they've already decided they don't have a say in this.
Anyway, welcome back, John and Jim McLaughlin.
John, we start with you.
Have I summed it up somewhat accurately?
You summed it up very accurately.
And the Democrats are usually hypocritical on this.
I couldn't believe that Governor Hochul in New York, after what she's done in the last couple cycles to Republicans in her state, had the nerve to write an op-ed in the Houston Chronicle attacking Texas Republicans.
Where was the media outcry in 2021 when New York state voters in three proposals statewide passed a proposal not to count illegals in redistricting, passed a proposal for no excuse absentees to get rid of that to make sure that doesn't become law, and also to eliminate same-day registration?
The voters in New York, where we don't even have voter ID, voted against those proposals.
And guess what the Democrats did?
They just overruled it and just did it anyway.
They've been counting illegals in all these census.
And when the Trump administration tried to not do it in 2019, well, the Democrats fought it.
And the other part about Hochl is she had a redistricting plan in New York where it was so bizarre it would have cut the Republican delegation down to four and total total representation.
They were having seats go from the north shore of Long Island all the way through the Long Island Sound up through Democrat areas of the Bronx and Westchester to eliminate the New York 3 seat as a Republican chance where George Sanos got elected.
But what they did was after a judge stepped in and ruled that they could have competitive races and Republicans funded that challenge.
What they did was they came back two years later and they changed the rules again by stacking the court.
They forced out a moderate Democrat that Cormo had appointed as the Chief Justice in New York.
They forced her out, put in an unqualified liberal for aggressive, and they passed a new plan where they were able to make Tom Swasey more secure in New York 3 because he won the special election against succeeding Sanos.
They also made it tougher for Anthony DiEsposito in New York IV to get reelected, and they secured Democrat seats upstate, and basically they're whittling away at the Republicans by changing the rules.
She gerrymandered two years ago, and they won law cases on this.
And now she says the Republicans in Texas can't do it because she does it in New York.
And when you look at the seats, this is all about the midterms.
If we don't win the midterms, they will contain Donald Trump.
They will impeach him again.
And this is all about control and power and trying to contain Donald Trump because he's been so successful in the first 200 days of his second term.
So this is a battle for control in the midterms, and we should not take it lying down because they will cheat.
They will rig the rules.
They'll do anything they can to try to take our House majority from us.
How is it possible, Jim, that Democrats were able to sneak in the census illegal immigrants, and it wasn't really a big deal?
We did talk about it here, but nobody else really paid attention to it.
Which, by the way, Sean, is clearly, I'm not a lawyer.
By the way, I need to say thank you for showing up on time.
We really appreciate it.
I won't even mention that you were late.
But with all that being said, I'm not a lawyer, Sean, and I don't pretend to play one on the radio.
And you laid out the Democrat hypocrisies brilliantly at the start of this.
But this is a violation of the 14th Amendment.
It guarantees equal protection under the law.
one person, one vote.
You're taking away Americans' right to vote by letting illegals, foreigners, they're letting foreigners vote in American elections.
Talk about a threat to democracy.
But to go back to your question, which is the right question to ask, you know who was running the redistricting on the Democratic side?
It was this aptly named group, probably not an aptly named group, but the National Redistricting Action Fund.
That's the group that the Democrats were using.
It shouldn't have been called the National Redistricting Action Fund.
It should have been called the National Gerrymandering Action Fund.
And you know who ran it?
Eric Holder, Barack Obama's attorney general, his quote-unquote political wingman, and guess who else?
Mark Elias, the same dirty lawyer that gave us the Russia hoax, the same ones that were giving us lawfare against Donald Trump, they're the same ones that gave us the phony impeachments.
That's what they did.
So they went into these states, and there were states.
You know, you mentioned it.
How can you have a place like Massachusetts?
We don't have one Republican in Congress.
We haven't had one there since the 90s, just like you said.
And we've had Republican governors in Massachusetts, and the corrupt Democrats there will not allow a Republican member of Congress.
You've got to be kidding me.
And to go to Texas, when you look at Texas, their redistricting plan, what it does is it makes eight Hispanic districts and two black districts.
They've never had black districts in Texas.
So you see the Republican Party down there is trying to give Hispanic voters and trying to give black voters more representation, and the Democrats don't like it.
Talk about the ultimate hypocrisy.
Whenever the Democrats start saying that we're the threats to democracy, they are clearly violating the Constitution and they're doing more corrupt things.
All right, quick break.
We'll come right back.
We'll continue more with Jim and John McLaughlin on the other side.
Then your calls are coming up.
I want everybody to please go to legacybogs.com slash Hannity.
50% off.
Do it.
You won't regret it.
Your family will love you for it.
Check it out today.
One thing we've always known about Hannity, he stands up for what he believes in and what you believe in.
Follow Hannity as he fights the left who are trying to extinguish conservative voices.
We continue with Jim and John McLaughlin looking at the issues surrounding gerrymandering and redistricting in the president's proposal that we have a new census that does not include people in this country illegally.
What do you make of the reaction to this?
And we could play Kathy Hochle and James Carville.
Kathy Hochle, you know, saying that it's nothing short of a legal insurrection.
We must do the same.
The only problem is they already did the same.
The only problem is they set the example.
They set the bar.
They set the rules.
Here's what she said.
What Texas and Republican states are doing at the direction of Donald Trump, I say is nothing short of a legal insurrection against our capital.
Legal meaning they're using the legal process does not mean it's legal and it must be stopped.
If Republicans are willing to rewrite these rules to give themselves an advantage, then they're leaving us no choice.
We must do the same.
There's a phrase, you have to fight fire with fire.
That is a true statement of how we're feeling right now.
As I said, another overused but applicable phrase, all's fair in love and war.
That's why I'm exploring with our leaders every option to redraw our state congressional lines as soon as possible.
And then you had James Carville.
He said they should, Democrats, when they get back in power at D.C. and Puerto Rico as states unilaterally, they're going to have to do it.
And then he talked about expanding the Supreme Court to 13 members.
And I mean, basically, there's nothing they won't do to maintain power.
This is all about power, which, by the way, is Mark Levin's new book.
Right.
And by the way, Sean, you've nailed it because she's a governor who's in trouble.
She's right now, she's got high negative ratings.
People don't like the job she's doing, whether it's crime, taxes, cashless bail, sanctuary city for illegal immigrants.
I mean, even in a Democrat New York, she's in trouble.
And whether you've got Elise Stefanik or Mike Lawler or Bruce Blakeman, they would all give her a close race right now for governor.
But she's changing the rules because she wants to have a one-party state.
It's almost like communist China, where it's basically, you know, you just want to have the Democrats be the only ones who can win the election.
You really believe either Lawler or Elise Stefanic can win?
Yes.
There's been published polls where she's an incumbent.
I helped Lise Eldon last time.
We hit a wall.
We ran close.
We needed Democrats to basically, we needed a couple more points for the Democrats to switch.
She almost got beat last time, and now she's done an even worse job.
And published polls have her running in the mid-40s.
When you're an incumbent running in the mid-40s, that's where Mario Cuomo was when he lost in New York.
You're in trouble because the majority of New Yorkers don't want to vote for you.
They want to elect somebody else.
The state has lost too many Republicans.
It's a very different era.
I think it's an uphill battle.
I don't doubt your polling.
I think it would be very close.
If you're saying it's doable, I believe you.
I have to leave it here, though.
John McLaughlin, Jim McLaughlin, appreciate you both.
Thank you for shedding some light on all of this for everybody.
I hope people understand it.
We'll get you phone calls when we come back, by the way, if you want to join us.
It's toll-free.
It's 800-941-Sean, if you want to be a part of the program.
This is the best of the best.
