When I told people, I was making a podcast about Benghazi.
Nine times out of ten, they called me a masochist, rolled their eyes, or just asked why.
Benghazi, the truth became a web of lies.
From Prologue Projects and Pushkin Industries, this is Fiasco Benghazi.
What difference at this point does it make?
Listen to Fiasco Benghazi on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
All right, thank you, Scott Shannon, and thanks to all of you for being with us.
Write down our toll-free telephone number.
You want to be a part of the program at 800-941 Sean.
If you'd like to join us, it is great to be back.
But what an incredible experience.
And um, thanks to all of you.
You know, Linda was kidding me before.
Why don't you just go and enjoy the trip?
I'm like, the only reason I'm on this trip is because of this audience allowing me and putting me in a position that I I can report on this, and I wanted to share it with everybody.
And and she was mostly half kidding when she said it.
And um throughout the course of the program, I will go through a lot of what I learned.
One of the most important things that I've learned is and somebody in the New York Post had a story about I think it was Rich Lowry today about the Trump doctrine emerging.
He seems to think is more related to money, and I'm like, yeah, you're missing a very big part of the equation here, which is I could tell you this, or start with this or and and believe that everything is predicated on this.
Maybe in past years, decades, there was a belief system that you can westernize some countries in the Middle East, etc.
That I could tell you haven't been there, it's not gonna happen, and it should not be America's goal to tell other countries how to live their lives.
It should not be our goal.
Uh however, insisting that they separate from radicalism and help eradicate radicalism and not turned a bl turn a blind eye towards radicalism.
That is a prerequisite to any relationship with the U.S. And similarly, the president was very, very clear as it relates to wanting these countries immediately, almost on day one, challenging in in Riyadh,
Saudi Arabia to join the Abraham Accords, and the same thing in Qatar and the same thing in the UAE in Abu Dhabi, the that the president wants this, but the sheer the desire is definitely there.
And this is my interpretation of it.
There is such fear among these countries of Iran.
That this is why the underreported story from Donald Trump's first term, which is he had created an alliance with the with Israel, the United States, with the Egyptians, Jordanians, with the Saudis, with the Emirates, with the Qataris and the UAE against Iranian hegemony.
That is very real.
And really the root of their desire and their willingness to invest trillions of dollars in our economy and have the best relationship with the United States, because certainly the they they could align themselves with China.
They could align themselves with the with Putin and Russia, but they want to be in business with the U.S. because they see the United States as their best opportunity.
And that was evidenced by this one business luncheon that I was invited to, where every single it was a who's who of American business.
It was every major company you can think of, and every private equity firm you can think of, and every Wall Street firm you can think of, all in the same room, all with the the wealthiest business people in Saudi Arabia, all of their foreign ministers and cabinet members and the crown prince himself, etc.
And all of this is real, and when you add up the money and how beneficial it will be to the this country and the hardworking men and women in this country, it is we are we are putting together a foundation.
The president is building a multifaceted foundation for American prosperity and success.
He's calling it the golden age.
And just look at the parts that are in place.
Now, we're going to be coming to you all week about this big, beautiful, one big, beautiful bill.
And it's gonna be contentious, but I think in the end it's gonna be passed.
Uh the president will absolutely have to involve himself.
I will deputize all of you in this audience at the appropriate time with the appropriate names of the of the people that need to understand.
I mean, I mean, I go to Washington, I do these town halls, and I say in every single one of them, you all know you're not going to get everything you want.
Uh they all say we understand that.
You all know that this is important for the president's agenda.
Now, put all the components together.
The eight, ten, whatever the final number is, trillion, trillion with a T, not millions, not billions, trillions of dollars that are committed in the next four years in investment in this country to build out manufacturing to create high-paying career jobs for Americans, but also benefiting our national security, building our pharmaceuticals here, our semiconductor chips here, automobiles here.
Uh, on every level, it's just great for our country.
It is what a m putting America first is all about.
It is not just rooted in in finances or money, it runs much deeper than that.
There is a belief system and an argument that that uh certainly the better the world does financially, and the more you can eliminate poverty and the the less likely you can uh that people will want to radicalize that they might want a better life for themselves.
But the president was pressing very hard on choosing sides and rejecting radicalism and not turning a blind eye towards it.
And and so on multi-levels between economically and defense agreements and so on and so forth, uh, the president is moving expeditiously, but put the pieces together.
Energy dominance, energy independence, that will help make America rich.
There's never been a case in history where we have cut taxes and not benefited with more revenues to the federal government.
That is the one big beautiful bill.
That would be making the Trump tax cuts permanent.
That would be no tax on tip, social security, or overtime.
That means the Republican Party is now the party of hardworking men and women versus the Democratic coastal elites that cater to, you know, championing the rights of Abrego Garcia and illegal immigrants over your safety, the party of defund, dismantled Nobel laws, the party of championing the right of men to play women's sports, uh, the party that thinks it's a constitutional crisis.
If in fact you eliminate waste fraud and abuse, uh the things could not be any more clear.
So this is these are amazing times we're living in, and and I I found it so cheap and pathetic and ridiculous, this whole notion that that Donald Trump uh, you know, nobody wants to spend any time in this industry that I work in media and do any research or any work.
The largest military base in the Middle East was in Qatar.
The Qataris have spent over $8 billion on our military base improving our military base.
Eight billion.
And we have defense agreements.
Do you realize Saudi Ara all these countries, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, they don't have military preparedness.
They don't have modern weaponry.
It's not just that we sell them.
We're selling them also our technology, our ingenuity.
And that is their very survival is based on it.
So, you know, 400 million dollars when you're talking about $8 billion being spent on our air base that nobody seemed to ever care about is a drop in the bucket.
And even some friends of mine that are conservative just they haven't put two and two together, and I'm kind of a little surprised by it.
Uh we have a lot of news we we've got to get to.
We really do.
Uh by the way, Chuck Schumer blaming Trump after a Mexican Navy ship crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge.
How many times have I said of the dog bites of the beast things?
If you're feeling sad, blame Donald Trump.
We know that the Trump administration has been meddling in U.S. Coast Guard operations from staffing to command and comms.
And I have the general sense of a doge dysfunction in parts of the Coast Guard, to put it mildly, after being fully briefed on last night's Brooklyn Bridge accident, one thing is very clear.
There are many more questions than answers.
We know many more questions than answers.
Um anyway, so that's Chucky Schumer.
Who cares what he has to say?
I mean, I think he's probably on his way out and he doesn't even know it yet.
Um won't get a lot of attention.
The president's just been unrelenting in wanting this war in Europe to come to an end.
Um I did have an opportunity both on the record and off the record uh my interview on Air Force One with President Trump and then off the record with him, which I won't disclose.
He is he is committed as ever to do everything humanly possible to end this war.
And uh he he kind of knew he knows that it's gonna take him and Putin to hammer this thing out, and he wants to end the killing.
Interesting.
Donald Trump, the the the Darth Vader, evil in our time, according to the left and the legacy media mob.
Anyway, uh, you know, he said that will mean redrawing the Ukraine-Russian borders.
That's already been done, saving lives, ending billions of dollars in aid.
And he noted for the for conditions negotiated between the two parties, it can only be because of the details of the negotiation that only he would know of, and they're gonna start negotiations immediately, and the president's gonna get actively involved himself, which I think is very good.
We'll get into this in great deep specificity in detail, but the director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gavard, I believe is correct.
I mean, what James Comey did with eighty-six forty-seven is beyond it's unconscionable.
And maybe he thinks we're stupid, and I don't know why this guy feels a need to constantly communicate with seashells.
You might recall in October 2024, seashells that were painted blue with the words vote Harris.
I don't think uh, and the timing is by the way, all too convenient.
Uh our friend Dan Bon Gino Kash Patel also issued very sharp public condemnations.
My understanding is is that a meeting of some 90 minutes with the Secret Service took place with James Comey.
He is extraordinarily arrogant, and I think that most people know that James Comey was warned not to use the dirty Russian disinformation dossier paid for by Hillary Clinton.
He was warned about that.
He used, he signed three of the four warrants.
That's nine months worth of spying, backdoor spying on the Trump campaign transition team and presidency.
This is the guy, no reasonable prosecutor, whatever prosecute.
Anyway, we'll get into that.
I I think you unfortunately fall into a situation though where you have to quote figure out intent.
This is why I've always had a problem with you know, with with hate crimes legislation, because you have to you have to ascertain what's in people's head rather than what they did, although you cannot threaten a sitting president.
Oh, I had no idea that 86, 47 meant get Trump.
Uh the president's still in a battle against you know the court system.
I mean, this this is the one time that I really don't understand the Supreme Court and the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.
It was used by four prior presidents, and I really, for the life of me, and they had a Supreme Court decision 1948 that upheld the law and went as far as to say that after the president makes that decision, that it is not subject to judicial review.
It makes no sense.
Even Jeffrey Tuven said the Supreme Court appears stumped on the issue.
I think that that probably is about right.
Every federal judge should not have more power, enumerated powers than a president of the United States.
It is that simple.
And Article 2 powers are very, very clear.
And these are designated terrorist organizations, especially in the case of Trendargua or MS 13.
But this is now this is now the left's latest weapon of low uh lawfare against Donald Trump.
Um, we'll get into this in a in a few more minutes.
House Republicans focused on one thing this week, and that is their their big beautiful bill.
Let me just warn you all, it's because of how this process and this Arcanian rule or chaotic rule, rather, in the U.S. Senate, known as reconciliation.
There are very rigid rules that need to be applied to make this work in the United States Senate.
Every time I've done town halls with either the House of Representatives or U.S. Senators, they all know and they'll all acknowledge that they're not going to get everything they want.
But we will get tax cuts permanent.
We will get no tax on tip, social security, or overtime.
We will get money for the border.
We will get money for the next generation of weaponry, and we will get the beginning of the economic turnaround that President Trump is desperately trying to get, which will help all of them in a midterm.
And and they'd buck the trend and hold on to the House, which is going to be critical, otherwise, Donald Trump is going to be impeached probably 15 times.
So we are probably going to need to call the White House switchboard at some point during this week.
Hey there.
I'm Mary Catherine Hamm.
And I'm Carol Markowitz.
We've been in political media for a long time.
Long enough to know that it's gotten, well, a little insane.
That's why we started normally a podcast for people who are over the hysteria and just want clarity.
We talk about the issues that actually matter to the country without panic, without yelling, and with a healthy dose of humor.
We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we do take the truth seriously.
So if you're into common sense, sanity, and some occasional sass.
You're our kind of people.

What I told people, I was making a podcast about Benghazi.
Nine times out of ten, they called me a masochist, rolled their eyes, or just asked why.
Benghazi, the truth became a web of lies.
It's almost a dirty word.
One that connotes conspiracy theory.
Will we ever get the truth about the Benghazi massacre?
Bad faith, political warfare, and frankly, bullshit.
We kill the ambassador just to cover something up.
You put two and two together.
Was it an overblown distraction or a sinister conspiracy?
Benghazi is a Rosetta Stone for everything that's been going on for the last 20 years.
I'm Leon Nayfock from Prologue Projects and Pushkin Industries.
This is Fiasco Benghazi.
What difference at this point does it make?
Yeah, that's right.
Locker up.
Listen to Fiasco Benghazi on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
As we roll along, 800-941-SHAWN, if you want to be a part of the program.
so it's really a make or break.
My guess is you're gonna hear a lot of noise this week.
It's gonna be troublesome.
You'll get worried, and in the end it's gonna pass.
That's my prediction.
I hope I'm right.
And uh, you know, there's a great piece in the New York Post, geo peers in Congress need to stomp on the Primadonna attitude and hang together, or they're or they're going to hang separately.
This is what I was saying to them.
You will succeed or you will fail together.
But it does, it did pass a key house hurdle.
Uh, there were four members of the committee that voted present, and I think it's really gonna take Donald Trump to get on people.
Kevin McCarthy is right, ripping GOP hardliners for a real misstep on this delay.
We've waited long enough.
If these people, you know, some of them have safe districts, so they come from a very different position than people in marginal districts that you know we are going to need if we're going to hang on to the majority.
You want to hang on to the majority because Democrats get power, impeach, impeach, impeach, impeach, impeach.
They want one last point on this James uh Comey issue, because I think it's kind of important.
I think that's actually very important.
And you know, remember Martha Stewart?
You know who's responsible.
Remember Martha Stewart is I actually met her on two occasions and uh told her I admired how tough she was when they were going after her.
Do you know the person that was going after her?
That was James Comey, because he was the lead prosecutor for the New York Southern District uh when they put Martha Stewart in jail at 63 years of age, and it was like a nothing case.
It really wasn't.
And it's the same Comey, by the way, that General Flynn, quote, supposedly lied to who Comey sent to the White House in a bid to frame Trump on the bogus Russia gay charges.
Remember all that?
Luckily, Comey's attempt to frame Flynn was exposed before that was too late.
Um, but there's a documentary delving into the life and legacy of Martha Smith.
It was on Fox News.com, and I mean, she was like the first billionaire, female billionaire in 1999.
And she says it was so horrifying to me that I had to go through that to be a trophy for these idiots in the U.S. attorney's office, he says in this Netflix documentary.
And Comey was the lead prosecutor.
Now, Comey's response is, and she said those prosecutors should have, you know, uh I mean it's she said, I was a trophy.
I was a prominent woman.
I was the first billionaire woman in America.
And when the charges were brought against her, um, he goes and he said, This is a case about lying, lying to the FBI, lying to the SEC, lying to investors.
This is conduct that will not be tolerated.
Martha Stewart is being prosecuted, not because of who she is, but what she did.
Meanwhile, the attorney for Stewart questioned whether the charges were filed for publicity purposes or because Martha's a celebrity, but he was sentenced to five months in prison.
He made next to no money on this deal.
I mean, it was like a pittance to her.
It was it was it was just to humiliate, which unfortunately this is why we talk so often about weaponization and why you can't have the weaponization of a justice system.
You just can't.
I mean, it's got to stop.
Um, anyway, moving on to other things.
Look, there's a lot going on.
We'll deal more with this at the top of the hour.
Uh Greg Murphy's more charitable than I will be.
He's a congressman and a medical doctor, but um, I'll tell you a couple of things that came out about Joe Biden, and we'll also play this later.
He was not placed under oath during his special prosecutor interview with Robert Herr.
And now that it's come out during the interview, why wasn't he placed under oath?
Why not?
You know, when Bill Clinton was interviewed by Ken Starr's office, he was under oath.
One of the articles of impeachment against Clinton was perjuring himself with Starr's prosecutors.
And in the interview, not gonna die, you can tell this guy was a cognitive mess.
We'll get back to that in a second.
Here's the problem.
If if you do any rudimentary amount of health checking, and you're a male, you get something called a PSA score.
And and I happen to have a fairly low range of 0.8 or 9 to 1.1 or two.
And one year, just out of nowhere, kind of doubled, and I ended up getting a biopsy because my doctor said that that is unusual for something to go up and he wanted to get on top of it.
Then it went back down and stayed back down now for over a decade, and I'm still in that my normal range.
But it is it is the earliest indication.
And he even wrote me earlier, said I've never seen a Gleason score of nine ever.
And medical experts all over the place are quick to flag.
Hey no, how is it possible he was diagnosed with an aggressive prostate cancer that has already spread to his bones, especially given that the disease is easily detected with blood work?
I I mean it's the PSA, and and usually most people have a baseline.
I have friends of mine whose baseline is higher than my baseline, but that is their baseline.
Yeah, Dr. Zeke Emanuel saying he probably had prostate cancer at the start of his presidency.
You know, and how they didn't pick up on this.
And it really would be two simple tests.
And you know, some are questioning whether or not this was uh why would you not look?
I I traveled with the president last week.
I can tell you there are doctors around him at all hours of the day and night.
All hours.
And that's every president, Democrat, Republican, doesn't matter.
Access to the finest, the best medical care.
And in the case of prostate cancer, it's it happens to be something most men will die with but not die from.
You know, hours before Biden revealed he had prostate cancer, James Kleiburn was out there insisting that the 82-year-old was fit to serve another four years.
I'm like, okay, whatever.
J.D. Vance is right in saying that the that Biden should have told the American people about his prostate cancer when he was first diagnosed.
Why didn't the American people have more accurate information?
That's right, too.
Now, with all of that said, um, I wish I wish him the best, but it it did not need to metastasize.
There are some doctors saying it could have taken ten years to metastasize.
They have a thing called watchful waiting when it comes to people that are diagnosed with prostate cancer, just because it's it and it's not as quite as aggressive as his, but it makes no sense at all.
This does not make sense, just like his cognitive state issues make no sense.
The president said Melani and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis.
We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family and wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.
But this is an aggressive form of prostate cancer that is already metastasized to the bone, and this thing is now a thousand times harder than it would ever need to be.
A lot of medical life every medical person I talked to said that they were taken aback that it was so far advanced.
If you look at Google, for example, AI, it says prostate cancer is diagnosed before it metastasizes.
It could take several years for it to spread to other parts of the body.
In most cases, slow-growing cancer may be confined to the prostate gland for years, and some studies have shown that PSA levels indicate the risk of metastasis, especially if the levels were at a set in a certain point.
This is so rudimentary.
But you know what?
Think about it.
Did we really ever get the truth about him?
Even Van Jones is now saying that Biden's cognitive dementia cover-up was a crime against the Republic.
Now, the only thing I would say gently, at least he's saying it, but he and David Axelrod kind of came as close as anybody on the Democratic side of stating the obvious, but they didn't want to be the ones to do it.
But in reality, we knew before 2020, we took a lot of heat for it, and it was a cover-up.
Why is this critical?
Because the president of the United States is mentally incapacitated, cognitively incapacitated.
He is our commander in chief.
He was not up to the job.
And these people knew about it.
They knew about it for the longest time.
They exposed it.
Anyone That dared talk about it or show videos of him like yours truly was excoriated for doing it, but this is a culture of concealment that was within the administration, and yet James Clyburn still believes he could have served a second term.
I don't think so.
Uh and that was, and we'll play it later, but it was clear in the audio tapes about all the memory.
He didn't even know when his own son died.
It was so sad.
He didn't know.
And they treated him with kid gloves in this in this her interview.
Um, you know, there was an interesting piece I saw from somewhere.
Um, you know, and this is where the media legacy media die.
They have this idiot over at the Washington Post.
And anyway, you you you see that everybody knew about the decline.
Anybody that denies it is flat out lying.
Well, I didn't know about it until that debate, you're lying.
I would say you're lying.
Whoever's saying that.
You know, look at him wandering off from a group of world leaders.
Come on, Joe, come back to the group, or him shaking air, or him not knowing where to go, or him not being able to get through a press conference or a speech ever.
It's um, you know, the New York Post had a meanderer in chief, and then the Washington Post quote fact checker, this idiot Glenn Kessler, who's gonna fact check the fact checker.
He faked Biden videos and rapture's right wing media, but deeply misled.
No, we told the truth.
And, you know, in this case, this guy Kessler, who thinks he's the king of truth, who frankly is nothing but a hack leftist Democrat, as evidenced by things that he said about me that he's been just dead wrong about, simply wrong.
On the economy, we got some good news.
April's budget surplus was the second largest in U.S. history.
The government collected 850.2 billion in receipts while spending 591.8 billion, resulting in a budget surplus of 258.4 billion.
That's not just any surplus.
It's the first monthly surplus of the fiscal year 2025, which began in October 2024, the second largest monthly surplus in U.S. history.
Uh, so this is a big deal.
Retail sales, we learned edged up last month after uh March was upwardly revised to 1.7%.
The Commerce Department Census Bureau said more good economic news.
We know the grocery prices saw their largest decline in five years.
Gas prices now fell for the third month in a row.
I'm seeing that big time at the pump.
Egg prices saw the largest one month decline in more than four decades.
Workers' real wages were up 1.9%.
Prices for airfare, energy, hotels, used vehicles all down compared to last year.
I mean, good things are happening on the economy.
And Treasury Secretary Bessant was right.
This moody it was a minor one little inch down shift.
It's a lagging indicator of U.S. credit downgrade.
That will I'm my prediction that will be fixed very, very quickly.
That's what I'm predicting.
We'll see.
And then everything the president has in terms of the economy for energy, the trillions of dollars in manufacturing that will be coming to America from countries and companies that are going to be building here.
That is going to help the people that do make this country great.
Hardworking men and women.
They're the ones that make the country great.
The radical left has no idea what they're doing.
You have I guess Tim Walls is delivering the commencement address at the University of Minnesota Law School.
You know, being ripped for using, you know, the term some would say, boy, this this is getting way too political for a commencement address, he said.
But I would argue I wouldn't be honoring my oath if I didn't address this head on.
I'm going to start with the flashing red light.
Donald Trump's modern day Gestapo.
Here we go.
It works so well for him in the final arguments of this campaign.
Nazi fascist, racist, Hitler, Stala Mussolini.
Might as well stick with what fails and fails dramatically.
Chris Murphy, Connecticut.
We have a madman in the Oval Office because them's failed to oust Biden.
Oh, now they're all mad that they all knew Biden was a mess.
They only have themselves to blame.
Hillary Clinton appears to have not learned a thing from her 2016 basket of deplorables remarks.
And, you know, we don't need to be a handmaiden to page the patriarchy.
That's what she's saying.
Kind of eliminates every woman on the other side of the aisle, except for very few Clinton said.
you know what's happening?
And the New York Times actually got something right.
Is every top Democrat running for president?
The answer is yes.
Here's their problem.
They're in the middle of a civil war.
David Hogg, fellow vice chair of the Democrats, uh, is warning Democrats.
He's not being honest with you.
He's talking about the, you know, that they're now openly fighting every single day.
Poll comes out.
The impact of Donald Trump's comeback is as lowered Democratic morale and their polls to the lowest levels they've ever seen.
Chuck Schumer takes the cake at 17%.
Democrats in the low to mid-20s.
They have let the far left of their party, the Jasmine Crockett squad, AOC's grandpa Bernie take over that party.
You know, and then they got Bruce Springsteen.
A lot of good he did for a lot of good all these actors did.
A lot of good all these singers did.
They didn't do anything.
They had no impact on the election.
They tried their hardest to destroy this man.
They threw everything at him.
They brought in every actor, every musician, and they lost.
And they lost because they deserved to lose.
And all those people lied and covered up for Joe, too, because they all knew better.
