Sean breaks down the cold hard truth about tariffs and the countries who will pay them. At the end of the day, these markets want American money and access to our markets.... they will pay a fair price to get that access!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

And we cover the stories that you're not getting anywhere else.

So Down, verdict with Ted Cruz now, wherever you get your podcasts.
All right, glad you're with us.
Thank you, Scott Chad and toll-free.
Here's our number.
It's 800-941 Sean.
If you want to be a part of the program, uh, we are in the nation's capital.
We are in the swamp.
We're in DC.
Now we're here for a reason.
Tonight, well, let me backtrack.
It is this is a very critical moment.
And we highlighted this last week, and I know some of you get mad with Lindsey Graham at times, and deservedly so.
However, when he's right, he's right.
And what he did as budget chair in the U.S. Senate is the whole process of reconciliation without getting too in in the weeds and and these archaic rules in the Senate are such, and it's been it's obviously been done a lot.
They did it for the inflation reduction act, they did it for Obamacare, Democrats have done it.
But it's called reconciliation.
Long story short, there are very stringent, strident rules for the Senate to pass reconciliation.
Why is reconciliation important?
Instead of needing a 60 vote threshold for cloture, which means to proceed with the vote and get the vote passed and get the bill passed.
Um, you only have a threshold of 51.
So it's a process, but it's a process that has a lot of strings attached to it and a lot of rules attached to it.
And some House members are gonna have to, you know, bite the bullet on this.
But either uh otherwise we're stuck with the Biden Harris budget until September 30th, and we won't be able to do a damn thing to help the economy, which is not gonna help Republicans if they want to have a shot at holding on to the House in 2026, which is important because if they do get a hold of the House in 2026, I'm telling you right now, just buckle up.
There'll be 10, 12, 14, 16 impeachments against Donald Trump because that's all these people know and understand.
And they're full of rate and rage and and hate.
So it's very, very important.
So I'm here.
Uh I'll be interviewing a number of senators tonight.
Uh Mark Wayne Mullen, Lindsay will be there, John Thune is coming on, uh, Ted Cruz will be there, Katie Britt will be there.
I can't even remember everybody.
I'm gonna forget names, so forgive me.
I don't want to go through all of them, but we're doing a Senate town hall, something senators don't normally usually do.
Senator Cotton will be there.
And so it's important that we get this done.
And we may come on the air tomorrow if I if I get the sense that there are too many senators that won't get us over the 51 vote threshold, which we need or 50 really 50 because JD Vance would be the tiebreak, then I will come to you and ask you to call your United States Senator and your Congressman if we have problems with the House.
Some members of the House they want more cuts.
Well, Doge is already doing the cutting part.
Now we'll institutionalize it if we return to constitutional order, which would mean you you you actually pass what is it, 12, 14 departments budgets, and that has to be done by September 30th.
The new fiscal year begins October 1.
So it gets it gets in the weeds, it gets complicated, it becomes very DC swampy, but this is very important, and it's a critical time if we want to turn the Titanic and turn the ship in the right direction.
And there's certain fundamental things that we need to focus on.
One is eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and corruption.
Two, the issue of free and fair trade, which the president now has been taking on for the last week.
And I'm telling you what's going to happen, and I have a lot of updates on that front today.
These countries are going to want access to American markets.
They want your money.
You know, for Canada to be putting tariffs on America when they don't pay their fair share for NATO, they don't control their borders.
We provide for their national defense.
You think Canada could withstand for five minutes at an invasion of Russia?
They have a population of what, 44 million people.
We've got 365 million people.
They need our military might.
This is what pisses me off.
The European Union, every every country in Europe, every country in Asia, you know, all our allied countries.
You know, we got Japan, we've got Taiwan, we've got all these countries, South Korea.
They depend on the United States of America and our military might, Canada in particular.
And then how do they reward us?
Well, they basically spit in our face and they rip us off and they slap tariffs on us.
And for 50 years, we're a bunch of suckers, and we've taken this, and Donald Trump says enough is enough and says we want free and fair trade.
We'll give you the choice, or if you choose the path of tariffs, then we're going to tariff you back.
It's called reciprocal tariffs.
And then if we're giving you money on top of it, then you might we we might keep low tariffs on your country as a means of you helping to pay back American taxpayers that now have $37 trillion in debt, and that means we're robbing from our children and our grandchildren, and we'll be the first generation ever in the history of the country to leave the country worse off than that which we inherited.
That can't happen.
Now, speaking of radicalism and the left, I mean, the best part is they don't know what the hell they're doing.
They really don't.
Uh we learned some news today.
I want to get to the bottom of a lot of things.
I want to get to the bottom of these would-be assassins.
Remember this guy, Ryan Routh, who tried a would-be assassin.
Uh, we now have a bombshell court filing from the DOJ that the suspect in the Trump uh Trump international incident.
Um, that he communicated with a person that he believed to be a Ukrainian with access to military grade weapons and requested a rocket propelled grigade uh grenade.
He made the request.
Now, by the way, backtrack on this too.
This guy had six or seven phones.
Now, how is it that we know for a fact it's public, it's in the public domain that Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, everybody in Trump world had their phones hacked by the communist Chinese, by the Iranians, and most of them by the Russians too.
So, but our FBI, we were told under Director Ray, they didn't have the ability to open up the iPhone the way that we should have just taken him to China and said, Could you do us a favor and open up this guy's phone?
They would have done a better job.
Uh anyway, so finally, I guess they got in this phone, but he made this request according to the filing in the Southern District of Florida, it alleges that he messaged a contact, said, send me an RPG, rocket propelled grenade or a stinger missile.
Remember the stinger missiles that we provided, the Mujahideen in Afghanistan back in the day when they were battling the former Soviet Union at the time.
Uh, those stinger missiles led to the defeat of Russia.
Boom, done.
Anyway, send me an RPG or stinger, and I'll see what we can do.
Trump's not good for Ukraine.
According to the filing, he said I need equipment so that Trump cannot get elected.
And I have said this on this program, and I'm not trying to give out ideas, but even Chucky Schumer once got it right.
You know, one of my greatest fears is one day we're gonna wake up in this country and there's gonna be simultaneous attacks, surface-to-air missiles against commercial airliners all over the country.
You know, we better get our act together.
We better get a defenses together, which then doves dovetails back to what I was saying is all of this money with reconciliation, what is it gonna be used for?
Well, number one, it's gonna be used to secure our border, get rid of the known terrorists, murderers, rapists, cartel members, gang members that Joe and Kamala allowed into the country.
So Tom Holman needs the money.
Christy Gnome needs the money to get that job done.
Now Sarah Carter's a part of the group.
She's gonna help get that job done.
Uh that's number one, the president's goal financially, which I believe will make this country wealthy again.
Maybe we can, you know, take Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, all headed towards insolvency and use some of the money from energy to make those agencies solvent again.
Maybe we can pay down the debt so we stop robbing our children and grandchildren, and it's also going to be spent to br to gain energy dominance to control the border, uh, to eliminate and deport all these criminal illegals, and you know, maybe most importantly, create the next generation of weaponry, which we better get going on, especially because we know that the communist Chinese and the Russians they have hypersonic missile technology and we don't.
And how many other weapons systems do they have that are superior to ours?
And we better understand a new reality is about to occur right before our eyes with artificial intelligence that will help create the next generation of weaponry.
And the president seemed to disagree with me when I brought it up the last time I interviewed him.
I don't think future wars are gonna be fought like we fought in Iraq, where our brave, you know, men and women, our national treasure, are gonna be going to door to door stepping over IEDs without up armored uh uh Humvees.
I think I think future wars are gonna be fought from air conditioned offices and people are gonna be pushing buttons and they're gonna be firing that way.
And we better be prepared for that generational warfare, because there's a lot of bad actors on the world stage.
They like nothing more than to kill Americans.
Now, the president was very firm yesterday, and he brought up the issue of the Iranians and their desire for nuclear weapons.
Well, we better pay pretty close attention to that because we cannot allow that scenario.
And you'll say, well, Hannity, you know, North Korea has has nuclear weapons, Pakistan, India, they have nuclear weapons.
Okay, they're not like the radical mullahs in Iran that believe in quote, a caliphate or this notion or this ideology of convert or die.
They don't strap bombs on young children and promise them 72 virgins in heaven if they kill the infidels, meaning anybody that doesn't agree with them.
So the president revealed Saturday there's gonna be a high-level negotiation with the Iranians, and you know, we'll see what happens.
Uh, the sun in the UK actually had a pretty dire column out today.
War between the U.S. and Iran has never been closer.
Tehran won't back down.
Okay.
That's the UK sun.
Let me tell the UK sons something.
The Iranians, if they have any brains, will back down.
If they want to play a game of chicken with Donald Trump, good luck with that because you're gonna lose.
And then there was an article, an unprecedented number of B-2 bombers, apparently now, uh, are involved in the largest single deployment of stealth bombers in U.S. history.
The Pentagon, according to this report, uh, has sent six B-2 spirit aircraft uh in the Indian Ocean, the long-range bombers, which are uniquely suited to evade Iranian air defenses.
Uh they can also carry America's most potent bunker busting weapons.
Now, what is the one weapon that Israel needs to take out the Iranian nuclear facilities?
Bunker buster bombs and the planes to deliver them.
Now, while negotiations are going on, this is quintessentially Donald Trump, isn't it?
Donald Trump's the guy that was negotiating the possibility of a negotiation of a peace deal with the Taliban.
Remember the story?
He told it on the air with me a couple of times, because it's worth telling and retelling because it's so badass.
And he's on the phone with the head of the Taliban, and he says, Um, I want you to open your email right now while we're on the phone together.
Opens his email.
Why did you send me a picture of my house?
Because I know exactly where you are, because I could take you out right now.
So send in these these stealth bombers.
Hmm, not a bad idea.
Anyway, so the U.S. will directly deal with Iran.
Now, for those of you that say, well, we're gonna make them mad and we're gonna they're gonna get angry and they're gonna commit acts of terror.
Joe Biden already let these people in.
We know we have Iranian assassination squads in the country right now.
We know known terrorists are in the country.
We know they're here, but we don't know where the hell they are, which is Tom Holman and Christy Noam and everyone else's job to find them.
Good luck finding them.
So the threat of terrorism has never been greater.
The last six times Chris Ray went before either the House or Senate committees.
It's never been this bad.
Well, why are you allowing the borders to remain open and why are you not enforcing the laws of our land?
Unbelievable.
Um, you know, I met the I met the guys at Sig Sour.
I love their firearms.
I mean, love, love, love their firearms.
They got the P365, the P320.
I have them both.
Sweet Baby James has them both.
Now, Sigsour is an amazing group of people.
It is, they have more than 400 engineers, more than every other gun producer in the entire country.
Hey there, I'm Mary Catherine Hamm.
And I'm Carol Markowitz.
We've been in political media for a long time.
Long enough to know that it's gotten, well, a little insane.
That's why we started normally a podcast for people who are over the hysteria and just want clarity.
We talk about the issues that actually matter to the country without panic, without yelling, and with a healthy dose of humor.
We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we do take the truth seriously.
So if you're into common sense, sanity, and some occasional sass.
You're our kind of people.

What I told people I was making a podcast about Benghazi.
Nine times out of ten, they called me a masochist, rolled their eyes, or just asked why.
It's almost a dirty word.
One that connotes conspiracy theory.
Will we ever get the truth about the Benghazi massacre?
Bad faith, political warfare, and frankly, bullshit.
We kill the ambassador just to cover something up.
You put two and two together.
Was it an overblown distraction or a sinister conspiracy?
Benghazi is a rosetta stone for everything that's been going on for the last 20 years.
I'm Leon Navok from Prologue Projects and Pushkin Industries.
This is Fiasco Benghazi.
What difference at this point does it make?
Yeah, that's right.
Locker up.
Listen to Fiasco Benghazi on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
See.
Oh, great.
Um, anyway, Donald Trump signed an executive order reinvigorating the coal industry.
Now, think of the Biden years, and this is all part of the president's plan to become energy dominant.
We become energy dominant.
Remember, it's the lifeblood of the world's economy.
That's a good thing for the world.
And we need energy.
Period.
End of sentence.
And I don't care what you build.
If you're building a Tesla, you need minerals, you need cobalt, you need, you know, nickel, you need all these minerals to build it.
We need natural resources.
You need energy.
You need minerals.
Anyway, the president is signing an executive order to reinvigorate affordable, reliable, clean coal, and how critical coal is to achieving American energy and artificial intelligence dominance, believe it or not.
And the Order will direct the uh chair of the National Energy Dominance Council to designate coal as a mineral under his executive order, which called for the immediate measures to facilitate and expedite mineral production.
Uh, which is great.
Now, under Joe Biden, that idiot, who I don't think knew what day of the week it was, uh, what did he do?
He put us in the Paris climate accords.
Now, what about the the most filthy air on the face of the earth?
The worst, the worst, dirtiest coal on earth is being used in China.
And that Paris Accord agreement.
This is how dumb we can be as a country.
Designated China and India developing nations.
Now, that's just like the tariff issue.
That's how stupid we can be at times.
But, you know, give in to the radical left.
You know, let's keep joining these globalist organizations.
The World Health Organization became the propaganda wing during COVID for the communist Chinese.
The World Economic Forum.
You think they care about America?
No, they do not.
These are all organizations Donald Trump is pulling out of.
I would prefer he also pull out of the United Nations.
Next time I have him uh have him for an interview, I will ask him, why are we paying seven plus billion dollars a year for the UN?
Why?
So my friends in in New York can call me and complain about the traffic that is predictable every year.
Then we have to end up protecting, you know, the mullahs in Iran, the supreme leader, uh, the Ayatollah Khamani.
No, thank you.
We should not be responsible.
Let China have it.
They put on the Human Rights Council, you know, people from countries like Iran and at the time Iraq and countries that have the worst human rights abuses.
That's what a corrupt organization.
Historically, they have been anti-Semitic, they have been anti-American, and we pay the freight for them to come here and abuse us more.
It's insane.
Absolutely insane.
It's time for America to get smart.
I am tired of being a sucker nation.
I am tired of being taken advantage of.
I am tired of being ripped off.
I am tired of liberals not understanding how important it is that we be a country that stands for America first.
We'll help these countries out when they need it.
But you know what?
They have abused us.
They have taken advantage of our friendship.
Do you have friends in your life to take advantage of you sometimes?
Well, fool me once, shame on shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
And the president's right.
I I don't you can't blame these countries if America's stupid and gives them the ability to tariff us and we don't tariff them back.
At some point, we gotta own it and take the blame for that.
And then at some point, when we wake up, we gotta fix what is unjust and unfair and absolutely insane.
And the fact that people complain about it is unbelievable.
We're living through incredible times, though, because you've got you know, all these protests that took place over the weekend, it's been crazy.
We've been watching for weeks and weeks.
Tesla owners have been on edge.
They have been doxxed.
We have watched these dealerships where bullets they're firing bullets into these dealerships.
They're setting these Teslas on on these dealership lots ablaze, they're putting charging stations ablaze.
You know, countless vehicles are being keyed and and people driving them have been assaulted, they've been stalked, they've been threatened.
Uh it's gotta stop.
They've been firebombing.
It's called domestic terrorism.
It has a word, has a description that's accurate.
Anyway, so some of these people are slowly being arrested.
A former federal uh somebody was just charged with vandalizing uh the Teslas in the Capitol or nation's capital where I am today.
Alberta police are investigating after a rock was thrown through the windshield of her Tesla.
She was seriously injured.
And it's not just attacks on Tesla.
GOP headquarters, New Mexico, recently targeted by an arsonist over the weekend.
A thousand-person mob of democratic activists showing up at our friend Bordersar Tom Homan's house in a small upstate New York village.
Why are they doxing him?
And at what point do you not say you cannot make terroristic threats against individuals?
Now he's tough as nails, but it's still, you know, I'm sure disconcerting for his family and for him, although he's never gonna show it.
He'll walk out in the middle of he's tough as nails.
Won't care.
And he's just like, I'm I'm on a mission from God.
He really's like, remember it was Dan Ackroy in the movie.
We're on a mission.
The Blues Brothers, we're on a mission from God.
Tom Holman's on a mission from God.
He really is.
I've tried to make him laugh.
I can't make him laugh.
I've tried to get him to break, he doesn't break.
Maybe I'm not that funny.
I actually found a picture of him when he was still on the beat and I texted it to him.
He wrote back, haha.
I thought about the case.
That's uh that's that battle that's about as close as anyone's ever gotten.
In the picture.
I mean, if you look at what's happened and what we've put up with, look what happened to Charlie Kirk's group.
Um it's a good group group of kids, uh, turning point USA.
They go around college campuses, they they invite kids to have the opportunity to hear a conservative point of view.
Nobody's forcing you to listen to them.
They set up shop and then they they just attack them, punched them, you know, broke down their their setup that they had there, and all that this stupid chancellor at UC Davis could say was, oh, it's disappointing and embarrassing.
No, that would be called a crime.
That would be called illegal.
Hey, Gavin, Newsom, governor.
I know you're gonna hear that I'm calling you out.
Stand up for your friend Charlie Kirk.
He went on your stupid podcast, and you lied, by the way, and we caught you lying.
You lied about two things that we know about.
I'm nobody's have I've never even heard the word Latinx, and then we found, you know, a half a dozen times where you you you yourself have used the word Latinx, and then you said, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm against men playing in women's sports, except we have you on record tweeting out just the opposite.
Nice try.
But in the past few years, Republican congressmen being targeted.
You know, we have a mass assassination attempt.
Steve Scalise barely escaped with his life.
Another would-be assassin goes after Justice Kavanaugh, that idiot Chuck Schumer on the steps of the Supreme Court threatening Kavanaugh and Gorsuch, Supreme Court justices being doxxed.
President Trump comes within a millimeter of losing his life.
The far left hatred in vitriol keeps getting worse and worse and worse.
We'll get into this later with Horace Cooper on the program.
But it's it's getting bad.
And you got people like Carville.
Carville's lost his mind.
He suggested that Donald Trump has a sexually transmitted disease that's gone to his brain.
Well, something's gone wrong with his brain.
He might be projecting.
He may be projecting.
Maybe that's where the thought came from.
Just thinking out loud.
He compares if you cooperate or like Donald Trump, you're uh he's comparing you to a Nazi collaborator.
I mean, do we this this is the Democratic Party?
He was once part of the era of big government is over, the end of welfare as we know it.
That was that was the Clinton administration that did that.
No, they did it after they failed uh spectacularly trying to pass Hillary care, and it was a political calculation, but he did team up with Newt Gingrich, and they did balance the budget five years in a row, and that's the last time that budget has ever been balanced, and it's not even close anymore.
You know, we have got to get a hold of this before things just continue to you know spiral out of control.
There is there is now a normalization, and this was part of the reason I did this show last night, which I thought was very important to do, and that is the rise of the radical left, because they are normalizing assassination culture, and we keep hearing about it.
I mean, you know, I'll I'll give you an example because it is really, really shocking.
There's a survey that found that 31%, 38% said it would be at least somewhat uh well.
Let me give you the real numbers.
I got them right here.
I'll pull them up because this is very important.
This is the United States of America.
This is the radical left in America today.
And this report found that normalizing this assassination culture is really very real.
We saw with this Luigi Man Gion, the guy that killed the United Healthcare CEO, and all these people writing this guy, all these leftists writing this guy as if he's a hero, and then other people in polls saying they they're justifying they could make a justification for killing the head of uh a health care company that by the way they don't need to be a part of.
If you don't like United Healthcare, go, oh, that's right.
You might not have another Obamacare option because the promises of Obamacare were all broken.
Look at Grand Central last night.
Oh, Grand Central was out of control last night.
I mean, that is the radical left in action in New York City.
Where's Holkell?
She doesn't care about her Jewish citizens.
She doesn't care about them.
She doesn't care about Christians.
It's horrible.
Why do you think I'm one of the main reasons I left New York, it became untenable for me to be in New York City?
And you know that to be a fact.
I couldn't walk into a restaurant with friends or people I know or work with or care about without daggers looking me back, you know, staring me in the eye because my very presence triggers them.
Here's the survey.
Nearly 50% of leftists said that they could somewhat justify an Elon Musk assassination.
This is as sick, ugly, and twisted as I've ever seen.
55% said the same thing about Trump.
Nearly 58% of people in this survey said destroying a Tesla dealership is partially acceptable.
No, it's not acceptable.
And who's going to get hurt?
Yeah, you're gonna hurt Elon Musk.
Okay, instead of 500 billion, uh he'll have 300 billion or two or or or 400 billion, whatever it is.
But you know what's really gonna hurt?
What about the people that work at that Tesla dealership?
I thought liberals cared about working men and women.
Apparently they don't.
It's gonna hurt the people that sell Teslas.
It's gonna hit hurt the people that make Teslas.
It's gonna hurt the people that repair Teslas.
Have you seen the new bumper stickers?
What?
I bought this before I knew Elon.
This is what they're doing now.
I bought this before.
I'm gonna say I know and love Elon.
Put it out on the back of mine.
But I think some people are doing that because they're spending all these money on these beautiful cars, and they gotta worry about some liberal lunatic smashing the crap out of it.
Unbelievable.
Michael Moore, that absolute slob that he is, an idiot moron that he is, thanking fans for their submissions to President Donald Trump's portrait contest.
Said he was impressed at how many people turned the president's mouth and face into a literal butthole.
Wow.
It's so it's it's why don't we go back to kindergarten?
Because that's about where we're at.
Very highbrow.
Uh get this a whopping 70 countries have now called to offer the U.S. freer and fairer trade deals, according to Scott Bessent, the Treasury Secretary.
More than 70 nations, European Union, they're ready to negotiate free and fair trade with the U.S. Oh, you know, maybe Wall Street one day will catch up.
Volkswagen is suspended car sales in the U.S., driving potential customers to America-made vehicles.
I'm okay with that.
You know, and the president, I think we'll start talking trade deals.
Now, he's getting harder in the negotiations, all part of the psychology of Donald J. Trump.
If I want to interview President Trump, just to give you, I've known the guy for 30 years.
If I want to interview him for a full hour, I start at an hour 15.
He starts at 20.
And then I'll say, ah, can I just have an hour?
I just need the I need the full show.
I don't need an hour for the full show because there's something called commercials in the hour.
And then he goes, Oh, I'll give you 30.
And I'm like, uh, all right, I'll tell you what.
Just give me 35.
I'll make do.
Meanwhile, I'll get him in the chair for 35.
I'll keep him for another seven or eight.
That gives me a full hour when you add in the commercial time.
Pretty sneaky, right?
You're a sneaky guy.
I've actually told them I do that with him.
He goes, don't think I don't know.
Of course he knows.
He's the master of television.
Hello, the art of the deal, bro.
Well, all he ever does is like if he reads about me because he reads everything.
Oh, yeah.
Avery, he goes, You really made a good deal there.
He goes, You stole that.
You did this.
You didn't want to.
What you should do is get him a walkie talkie, and then you're not going to be able to do that.com, which is one of our new sponsors.
I love this technology.
You're going to love this technology.
You can stay in touch with your kids.
You can stay in touch with elderly relatives, people that are sick.
Well, the beauty is in my free state of Florida.
We should have brought the walkie-talkies here to DC.
This way I could talk to you and you could tell me that the clock is all screwed up.
It was more fun the way we did it.
Anyway, you pull them out of the box, you press a button, you can talk to your kids.
You have the benefit that they're not going to be on the internet.
But what if you have a sick relative?
You live in the free state of Florida and you want to talk to a relative in Idaho or Oregon or Washington.
You can do it because it's on a nationwide LTE network.
You don't pay any subscription.
