This is an iHeart Podcast.
Welcome back to the Sean Henry Show.
My name is Rose.
Check me out on social media.
It's Rose Unplugged on all platforms.
Also, by the way, on Rumble, Spotify, and Apple, I've got a podcast.
I push Rumble a lot because I love the people that work hard to bring you that platform.
So it's Rose Unplugged, great podcast, if I should say so myself, and I do.
Also, we have a ministry.
She is called by him.com.
If you've got a prayer request, or you would like to receive a free newsletter from me, please subscribe, and you can do so at she is called by him dot com.
All right, so here's someone that I just I have been listening to for I can't tell you how long.
I'm going to ask him how long it might have been.
But he is a pastor, evangelist, Christian author.
He serves as the senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California.
And you can find more information on him if you want to listen to his sermons or his podcast.
Go to Harvest.org.
He is Greg Laurie, Pastor Greg Glory, and he's portrayed in the movie by the way, Jesus Revolution.
If you saw that, it's based on his autobiography biography.
And he co-wrote that and co-wrote the script for the movie.
So please welcome to the show, Pastor Greg Laurie.
How are you, Pastor?
Hey Rose, I'm great.
How are you?
I can't believe I'm talking to you.
I have been listening to your voice on the radio for, I'm going to say, a long time.
Is it been 50 years really?
I saw something on one of your sites that said 50 years.
Well, I've been a pastor for 50 years, but I've been on the radio for probably almost 40 years now.
So it's been a while.
Good for you.
Good for you.
And I always appreciate that you are so bold with your message and you're unafraid to take a stand on very important issues that face this country today.
So thank you for that.
Thank you.
You know, in my monologue today, I talked about how leading up to the election, a lot of people could be heard saying, this candidate is going to heal the nation or this candidate can do the job.
But it really isn't up to a political candidate, is it?
It's it's it's these are spiritual issues.
They are not political issues that we face today in this country.
And I know I noticed one of your uh I think it was on Instagram, you were talking a little bit about bringing healing to the nation in 2 Chronicles.
Yeah, very true.
Uh, you know, there there is a place, obviously, for Christians to vote.
And and I really encourage believers to vote in this last election and to vote non-emotionally, uh, not even following your heart, as it's sometimes said, but vote biblically.
And I think America made a good decision.
Okay, but now we have to remember what our primary focus is as Christians.
You know, we're Christians first, we're Americans second, we're patriots, we love our nation.
And the best thing that we can do for America right now as followers of Jesus Christ is be just that.
Real followers of Jesus Christ.
You know, Rose, I'm seeing some promising trends happening in the church right now.
I just was on with um the podcast with Jordan Peterson, and he brought to my attention an article in the New York Times uh that speaks of young people returning to church, but specifically men.
And this article said for the first time in modern American history, young men are now more religious than their female peers.
I found that fascinating.
And then uh it went on to say that at church they're finding something they're not finding in the culture, like calls to responsibility, sacrifice, and leadership instead of the messaging of self-indulgence and the avoidance of commitment.
I think people are sick of this woke ideology.
I think they're tired of these things being pushed in their face, and we as Christians, we need to stand up for what we believe.
So, you know, you mentioned Second Chronicles 7 14.
It really gives the recipe for revival.
You know, we're all gonna sit down to Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, and you know, we're gonna have our Thanksgiving recipes uh made before us.
Here's God's recipe for spiritual healing.
He says, if my people, which are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, return from their wicked ways, and God promises.
Then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal the land.
So we all want to see America healed.
We all want to see America return to its spiritual roots.
And you mentioned the Jesus Revolution film.
Yes.
That was the movie made about the last great spiritual awakening.
We all want to see that.
Okay, well, God says if my people, it's interesting, he points his finger, it's his people.
Yes.
My people, which are God by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways.
Then the promise of healing comes.
So hey Christians just need to be Christians and do what we do best.
Love people, shine the light of Jesus Christ and tell others how to know him.
That well said.
And you know you you talked about Jesus revolution.
I during the 70s I would look at those people and say oh my gosh they are such Jesus freaks.
That's what we called them right.
Now I'm a Jesus freak much later but it was a spiritual revival.
And you know if you think about it, Pastor G Greg, spiritual revivals have played such great in uh parts in what has happened in our country.
If you go back all the way to the revolutionary war, it was the cause of freedom and pastors were delivering sermons and they they were unafraid to encourage the congregation to fight for freedom.
They wanted to support the revolutionary war because they understood that our freedoms came from God and God alone not from man.
Because they could be taken away from us.
And then I think what's important too and I want you to comment on this because I think we're headed that way right now but that second Great Awakening what people forget is it inspired the abolitionist movement because preachers were talking about equality and unity and and they were helping people see that enslaving others was wrong.
This is what came out of the Great Awakening and also by the way the suffrage movement came out of it because those women that were working and influenced by that those sermons and by that great awakening they began to think wait a minute if all men are created equal aren't women as well and we should have a we should have a vote in the process.
So and two years ago we did see some things happening on college campuses.
What how important is a spiritual revolution especially right now when everything seems like oh this is good you know maybe things are heading the right direction after this election but we need more than that don't we?
We need more than that.
Yeah we do and like I say in the article in the New York Times that's great.
You know uh like I just read an article uh where Walmart now is doing away with DEI and pushing uh you know uh probably Pride Month and things of that nature that those are good signs.
I like I like hearing that we're moving the right direction but the big thing that needs to happen is the change in the human heart and you're so right to point out the spiritual foundation of this nation.
I mean when we think of America we think of George Washington but there's another George that played a big role in the founding of our nation and he wasn't even an American he was a British preacher named George Whitfield.
But many believe that through the preaching of Whitfield in the colonies.
He was personally heard by Benjamin Franklin as an example.
He would preach to crowds as big as 30,000 without amplification.
But sort of the seeds of, you know, as the revival broke out in the colonies, then when the Revolutionary War happened, it could take root because the soil was filled with people that believed.
It supported these great ideals of America, and that's why these ideals and these ideas are so very important.
So I think we need to pray to that end again.
And you mentioned what's happening in college campuses, kids praying and spontaneous baptisms breaking out.
The other day I was out walking with my wife, and I said, hey, Kathy, it's starting to rain.
She said, no, it isn't.
And I said, no, it is, because bald men always know when it's raining first.
So I'm bald.
My wife has very, very thick hair.
And I see it's sort of like when it's starting to rain, you'll see a drop here, a drop here.
drop there a few more drops and it begins to rain.
And I I see these little drops like oh look at that over there.
Oh wow look at that wow that that's amazing and and as these increase these could be promising signs.
So we should pray Lord send another spiritual awakening but you know that's what God will do for us.
Only God can bring a spiritual awakening but our marching orders as Christians are are to go tell people about Jesus tell them how they can come into a relationship with him and there's all kinds Of opportunities to do that.
No, you're right.
And I've heard you talk before about us sharing our faith and doing so without fear.
And I have to say, Pastor Greg, for the listener, I have really been trying to implement that into my daily life.
But uh the other day I was in a sporting goods store, and right in the middle of the Nike section, I prayed with an 18-year-old girl who readily accepted.
So I think if we start looking, right?
If we start looking for those opportunities, they are there.
Wow, that's amazing, Rose.
Way to go.
Um, yes, Jesus said, lift up your eyes and look.
The harvest is great, but the labors are few.
You know, I think sometimes people say, uh, you know, one day I want to cross the sea for Christ and reach people.
Hey, why don't you just start by crossing the street all around you, all around you, there are people literally just waiting for someone to explain it to them.
Like, has anyone ever told you who Jesus Christ is, what he promised, and what he can do for you.
And a great way to start those conversations is just tell your own story.
You know, Rosie said you you, you know, you came to faith and you looked at the Jesus breaks a scans, as did I, and but then something changed, and you came to faith.
Your story is a great way to tell his story.
That's a good way to begin the conversation.
But ultimately the power is in the simple, what we call the gospel, which means good news.
It's a simple message of Jesus Christ came to this earth on a rescue mission.
He was God walking among us, he voluntarily died on a cross for our sin.
He rose against them, they're dead three days later, and now he stands at the door of every human heart and he knocks, and if we'll hear his voice and open the door, he'll come in.
That's the good news.
Anyone can do that who's looked at the Bible a bit, and if you're a Christian, you're commanded to do that.
You know, and I think, and that's well said, of course, and I think too that if we just look for I know every morning I ask for those opportunities or a way to bless someone or and I think that right now, Pastor Greg, there is such a need for it.
I I'm so surprised by how many people will say, Yes.
Uh yes, pray for me.
Okay, I don't know who you are and why you're asking me this, but I'll take it because this is going on in my life right now.
Everyone has something going on in their lives right now.
And listen, we've gone through some difficult times with the economy.
We're looking at the level of crime.
It's it's we can become fearful of what's happening around us.
But people are actually, I think deep down open to someone saying, Can I pray for you?
Yeah.
I I think when you ask someone, even if they're not a believer, can I pray for you?
You will rarely be turned down.
Because everyone is carrying burdens uh in life.
You know, it's been said if you preach to hurting people, you'll never latch for an audience.
And I I just think we need to realize that we did these little uh one-minute commercials and we ran them on Fox uh news and Fox News channel.
And uh I'll tell you, we've had thousands and thousands of people respond and ask for the Bible we offer and pray to accept Christ.
You know, it's challenging in one minute to try to share the gospel.
One minute goes by very quickly.
But uh they've been so powerful, and I uh I just tell people a little bit about you know what the gospel says, and I often lead them in a prayer if you would like Christ to come into your life, pray this prayer.
I think people are just really open and really hungry, and and so many are are waiting for someone to engage them.
You know, and I think too, you one of your sermons, I believe, was give God thanks in all things, even difficult times, and and and we're headed into this Thanksgiving and all all the holidays.
You know, it's a time for reflection.
And when we think about it, even in those difficult times, in fact, maybe more, especially in those times, we are to really think about giving thank God thanks.
Yeah, well, you know, the Bible says, give thanks unto the Lord for He is good, and his mercy endures forever.
It does not say give thanks to the Lord when you feel good, because you don't always feel good.
And and sometimes, you know, Rose Honestly in the holidays, a lot of people feel bad.
Yes.
Uh there's things that contribute to that.
Maybe their their marriage fell apart, maybe they have issues in their life, maybe they've lost a loved one that they're missing desperately, uh, or whatever else is going on.
And so that this is a time where people really are very sad in Thanksgiving and Christmas.
And so, but we need to focus on the message.
I mean, Thanksgiving is a holiday that is declared to give thanks to God almighty uh for all that he has given us in America, but we can give thanks personally as well.
And then as we go into the Christmas season, it's you know, it's the it's the story of Jesus.
One thing I do love about Christmas, I don't love all the commercializing of it, but I love hearing those great Christmas songs.
Playing in malls, you know, and you're hearing Silent Night or Heart the Herald Angel Sing, you know, and I'm thinking the gospel's still getting off.
It is.
It is, and we do have to go back.
We were talking to Pastor Greg Laurie, and you can check him out at Harvest.org.
And Pastor Greg, I just want to say again, thank you for your boldness.
Thank you for all of the years that you have put in invested in the people all over the world with the great message of salvation.
Thank you for your boldness.
You wrote good my honor to be on the show, and thanks to Sean for having me on this.
Yes, we were honored as well.
Thank you very much.
You are listening to the Sean Hannity show.
My name is Rose.
Check us out, Rose Unplugged everywhere.
And listen, we've got so much more coming up.
My goodness, Tom Homan is joining us.
All right, everybody loves Tom Homan and Greg Jarrett.
Everybody loves Greg too.
But Tom Ollman, he's the border boss or the border god, he likes to say, but I don't think we should say that right after we just had a pastor on.
You know what I'm saying?
All right.
We'll be back with more of the Sean Hannity show.
Yeah, it is.
It's a Sean Hannity show.
My name is Rose sitting in for Sean.
Welcome back to the show.
And I asked too that you give me a call because we haven't had a time yet to set aside for the two of us or more of us to talk.
So it's 1-800-941 Sean.
1-800-941, 1-800-941.
So you guys, like one of our favorite shows, like it's a family show.
We used to always watch, and we loved it.
It was Seinfeld.
And like everybody can tell you their favorite episode, and they can even, you know, like just actually repeat the entire episode.
We were at a bar once, and yes, I do go to a bar every once in a while.
But we were sitting around the bar and everybody had a favorite episode of Seinfeld, right?
The woman with who talks too close, the one with man hands and all of that.
Well, do you all remember Festivus for the rest of us?
I haven't celebrated festivus in years.
What is your interest?
Just tell me everything.
Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son.
I reached for the last one I had.
But so did another man.
As I rain blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.
A new holiday was born.
A festivus for the rest of us.
And at the festivist dinner, you gather your family around and tell them all the ways they have disappointed you over the past year.
And is there a dream?
No, instead there's a poll.
You know, we're going, I just love it.
We're going to have to bid a fond farewell eventually to Rand Paul's festivist list.
Because every year he would come out with the list of all the extravagant expenses by the government.
So soon we will have to say farewell to that because we've got Elon Musk and Ramaswamy who are racing right now to build the Department of Government efficiency, and they're in interviewing candidates right now.
And the team is also looking for advice from some people in DC and in Silicon Valley, and all of this is in an effort to pursue their vision of efficiency in the government.
And the team was put together by President elect Trump.
And I thought it was a great idea.
I love it.
To lead an advisory panel to find drastic cuts to the federal government.
And the leaders have been in DC and at Mor-a-Lago.
They're interviewing candidates.
And so far, I feel that a lot of people were very hopeful that this really is going to cut down on all of the expenses that we have seen because some of the most ridiculous things have been spent.
Money has been spent on some of the most ridiculous things.
So it looks like it's going to be the last year for Rand Paul's festivist list.
And I just loved how clever he was when he was bringing us the year's most outrageous spending.
But I love more the hope that we now have that between Vivek, Ramaswamy, Elon Musk, and the team that they're putting together that this may be it might just be the very last year for a festivist list.
So I just wanted to remind some of you of Some of the things that were on the list last year.
They had, and this is like a flashback because this happened before.
The government likes his gambling monkeys.
They were spending money, $171,000 on gambling monkeys.
There's a treasury's pot of cash for political campaigns.
That's 400 million dollars.
Lobster tank, DOD's lobster tank.
Remember that?
Over $8,000 for that.
The government paying dead people again.
$38 million.
I mean, it's just they wanted to boost Egyptian tourism.
So they spent $6 million on that.
Barbie doll.
Remember the Barbie doll photo that they were using to get uh COVID uh PPP funds.
People were using those.
We put out so much money because of that fraud.
The waste from the years past was just outrageous.
Taxpayer dollars wasted 900 billion dollars.
900 billion dollars.
And it was funny because Rand, Rand Paul recently sent this message via X to my friends at the Department of Government Efficiency.
Don't forget about the big one, the rapid out-of-control increase in internet in interest payments on the national debt.
It's on autopilot.
Political resistance will be extreme and overwhelming.
Beware.
And he's right.
The political resistance will probably be overwhelming.
But I think we've got a president in place and hopefully a team in place that can handle that.
So I wanted to talk about uh the you know, we were talking a lot about religion today, and I think it's important.
And I am glad that you all indulge me, and I appreciate that, and especially Linda and everyone else, because really it is up to us, I think, going forward to bring healing to this nation.
And it is what brings comfort too during times of distress, and a lot of people right now are going through difficult times, particularly because of the economy.
But even so, at the holiday season, a lot of people do feel that stress and depression and other issues.
And so when we talk about that, it's so important that that we are still free and grateful we should be that we are still free to have these conversations, even on the airwaves like right now.
But you know, I found something interesting.
Back in two, two, I think it was 2023, Chat GPT actually delivered a sermon to this packed church in Germany.
And in the sermon was all about how they they shouldn't give in to fear and they shouldn't fear death.
And and it this chat GPT was actually uh tasked with crafting a church service.
So a pastor went in, said, Okay, chat GPT, put a sermon together for me.
And they did, and it was complete with an avatar.
So all of these people that were coming together, there was some sort of convention at the time in in Germany back in um, I think it was April of 2023, and it was attended by more than 300 people, and they sat and listened to a sermon that was delivered to them by an avatar.
I had a laugh because afterwards the the media was asking them, Well, what did you think of it?
And they said, Well, um, you know, it didn't feel like it was real, there was no heart and soul.
You think it was an avatar, it wasn't a real person delivering the sermon.
And I feel like we shouldn't have to say that, but it was an avatar, and it doesn't have heart and soul.
And you wonder sometimes if this is the future of the church, and I'll tell you why in just a minute.
But when we replace a pastor, when we replace a human being, someone who can speak from their heart from experience, that's what makes a sermon good.
Is that that pastor standing up in front of the church can identify with you?
You can identify with them.
They have a heart and they have a soul, and they have experience, and they are sharing that with you.
And I don't, I don't doubt that we'll we'll start to see more of this in the future.
And because there's one recent story that I found just absolutely unbelievable.
There was a Swiss church, and they launched an AI Jesus, so they've got this artificial intelligence replica of Jesus, and you could go in and talk to him, and you can maybe confess your sins if you wanted to, you can ask for advice, you could basically pray to this avatar.
Why?
And people did it, by the way.
They were lining up to do it.
So I the question I have is why wouldn't you just Just go ahead and pray to God.
Why would you why would you even bother to pray to an avatar?
But anyway, it's happening.
And I just want to share those two stories with you because I it's astounding, isn't it?
We can't just have like like uh just a real God and real Jesus, but we have to have an avatar giving a sermon and an AI Jesus if you want to go talk to him about your stuff.
It's just weird to me, and it's sad to me as well.
I also want to take some phone calls, so let me give that phone number out.
It's 800-941 Sean, 800-941.
And we've got uh, let's see.
Oh somebody has a great idea for immigration.
But I'll bet our guest coming up today even has some better ones, but maybe not Jim from Colorado.
Let's see what you've got.
Rose, thanks.
Hi.
Thanks for taking my call and happy Thanksgiving.
Thank you.
I think uh Tom Holman and Donald Trump need to take a step backwards.
Well, not really, but they should immediately uh report all the criminals.
But I would grant a six-month to a one-year amnesty for every single illegal who's ever crossed the border to register with the United States federal government.
I want to know who you are and where you live, and I want you to check in whatever once a month, every six months.
Simultaneously that we'll begin exporting all the criminals and stuff.
I believe that probably 70, maybe even 90% of all those people who cross illegally are good people.
And I just want to know who is in my country.
I don't need to deport him in mass.
I don't know if I even need to deport him.
And maybe even the Republican Party can score some points by granting them amnesty if they are in fact who they say they were and they're hard working.
And um, if I granted them amnesty, uh, number one, they couldn't vote until they became U.S. citizens, and number two, they'd go to the very back of the line.
It might take them 20 years, they may never uh grant be granted U.S. uh citizenship because they may die, it'll take that long.
There's so many of them here.
Well, and Jim, thank you for your call.
And I uh you bring up an interesting uh scenario.
I think that one thing I feel very confident about, and that is that however the situation is going to be handled, that Tom Holman is the man to handle it.
And he's demonstrated that in the past, he has just he couldn't wait to get back into the administration.
He was just so excited.
I've been on stage with him, I've interviewed him, I like him so much.
But this guy, I I have to say, if there is a sincere person out there uh that that is very involved with government and with this administration, Tom Homan is one of them, and he really loves this country.
He cares about this country, and as a matter of fact, I heard he's said to me many times in the past that he has suffered threats on his family because of the position that he's taken because of what he has done in the past and what he's been saying over the last four years, and now we know that there are about at least twelve, there could be more, um, of Donald Trump's cabinet nominees and other appointees who are um being targeted right now with threats to their lives.
And there's it's just this is unbelievable what's happening right now.
And that shouldn't be, and by the way, that reminds me, we should be praying for the nominees for those he's appointing.
They need our prayer for protection.
This is un-American that they should be facing something like this.
You didn't hear anything like this before, did you?
Four years ago.
But back to Tom Homan.
I do believe that he's got a strategy.
I think he's been thinking about this for the last four years, and I have every confidence that this guy is ready to go day one.
Or he's ready to go right now.
He is ready to go yesterday.
And he's joining us today, so I'm excited about that.
Next hour, he'll be with us.
Also, Greg Jarrett is going to be with us.
So make sure you stay with me through the next hour and a half.
We've got lots more to do.
Please call in if you like.

Anyway, there's a group of liberals up in Wisconsin.
They are they're so upset because their candidate didn't win the election.
And I really feel bad for them.
And they didn't know what else to do.
So what they decided to do was just come together at this park off the shores of Lake Michigan.
And here's how they decided to handle their disappointment, their sadness, their extreme sadness.
oh my god Wow.
Wow.
Those are real people, people.
Those are real, they're they're out there among us.
They walk it was Whitmer and her family.
You know, they were just all out there swimming together.
You know, they had to let it out, you know.
Just a little.
Just a little, Linda.
But the best part was that it was filmed by a bunch of Trump supporters up on the hill, just watching the crazy.
They're just like sitting on a hill going, oh man.
Like, can you imagine if this side won?
I mean, my God.
It's so scary.
This is how you do out there.
This is how you deal with life with things.
Wow.
Thank God the grown-ups are back.
I mean, exactly.
They're home.
He doesn't, my friends.
You know what?
Take a good swim.
It's, you know, it's December.
Get in there.
Yeah.
Go in for the real thing.
Maybe we maybe the cold will shake the lunacy out of your mind.
Oh, but in fact, you know, when Trump won the first time I was here in the studios with you, we all had a big party here, right?
And I remember having to walk back with Lauren, I think it was, and they were crying.
They were still out there in the cold.
I had passed them on my way in.
That was actually our old studio.
Oh, that was very old.
Just a couple blocks away, but yeah.
Past all the Hillary supporters on the way in, all waiting for her to come out.
And remember, she never.
We put a sign up on our apartment door.
And I said, uh it said, uh, I think it's just when you lived here still.
Yeah, like an idiot.
And it said something like, uh Trump.
I think I said, like, you know, Trump2016 or whatever it was.
And the next morning, my neighbor had left a note on top of the sign, and it said, I thought we were friends, and I didn't know you hated the gay people, because him and his husband his husband live next door to me.
We had dinner a million times.
So I went over and knocked on his door.
I said, let me understand this.
Because I voted for this man.
You think I don't like you?
